St Martins Lane is in a very walkable location, and the staff was friendly during my stay.

However, the overall atmosphere felt dark and a bit outdated for my taste. My room was also quite cold, which made it less comfortable than I had hoped. The space felt gloomy, and I was looking for something brighter and more inviting.

While others may enjoy the style, it just was not the right fit for me.

Reception staff were very welcoming, even though the whole hotel lost power and there was very noisy building works.

Overall a nice hotel in a great location for exploring London. We had 2 rooms for the weeks, deluxe garden rooms. The staff were very nice, doormen were super friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathroom/shower were clean, nice toiletries, with robes & slippers, umbrella. Beds were comfy with lots of pillows. The shower had amazing water pressure! Housekeeping were great with daily service, replenished water, tea bags etc. Staff was also very prompt when we had questions or issues. Also, our flight arrived early and they were very awesome and got us into one of our 2 rooms early, so we could freshen up and store our lugguage before heading out to explore.
Rooms are petite, not alot of wardrobe storage, we had to keep most of our clothes in our suitcases. Walls are a bit thin, and can here adjacent room. In our 2nd room, we had trouble keeping it warm, they came to fix it but the heat only worked well for a night and went back to being cold. I'm sure they would have switched the room out but we didn't want to repack and our rooms were next to each other and we liked that convenience, so dealt with the cold temp. Overall good stay, would recommend.

Room was spotless, very clean, bathroom large which is nice with plenty of shelves!!!! We had a room with two beds, and that was a bit crunched. I would probably get the deluxe next time for more space. Breakfast was great, lots of variety. The location can't be beat.

Could not get in room till 3.30. Had to pay £10 extra if we had anything on breakfast menu - buffet was all that was included. Nothing plugged in where it should have for safety - kettle & coffee maker!! Staff obliging. Hotel very comfortable & great location - for us it was a few steps to the London Coliseum.

This hotel is excellent! The room is very good, but the customer service is nothing short of amazing. Staff member Phil helped park our car and staff member Viza helped escort us all the way to Chinatown when we said we wanted to head there for dinner. Really friendly and attentive staff. Kudos

Loved our stay at St. Martins Lane! You can’t beat the location. So walkable. Right in the heart of theatreland and Covent garden. Had a lunch at the hotel but was not impressed but overall the hotel was great, clean, and central to everything. We will be back to stay here again!

Service not good enough for the price. I left some items in the room. The very least you expect is for the items to be handed in. Breakfast service was terrible too. Only there for 2 nights but both days it took so long to get a coffee that I was basically finished.

The room was delightful and the front desk staff couldn’t be more helpful. The dining room knocked a star off my rating. Breakfast appeared to be operated by people who never had such a meal.
Coffee and you want milk?
Toast and you want butter?
Toaster only works on one side of the slice.
Eggs, avocado, smoked salmon never met before arriving on the plate; no salt or pepper, lemon or a sprig of dill or some other herb. Plain food it is and at a price!

Room was clean, spacious, relatively quiet. Weighted, heavy doors made for residents banging or slamming at opening and closing of their room's doors.
Location in TheatreLand area was excellent. This property is directly opposite the Duke of York Theatre. (However, road construction made taxi approaches limited by hours of construction closings. ) Walk easily to many interests. Leicester Sq Underground about 5 minute walk.
Would book again because of the helpful staff. Kudos for Aldo because his assistance in managing the front access doors and grabbing taxis made my stay easier. Travelled solo; felt safe and welcome at St Martin's Lane Hotel. Older guests are not ignored; assistance offered in every situation. A large group was meeting there and the hotel was crowded. Did not utilize the Concierge 's help but observed that many guests did and walked away appearing pleased. Housekeeping was very helpful and deserves credit for their prompt service and good natures while accommodating requests.

The staff are excellent, the bar is cosy, the location is great.

The hotel is getting on in years and it shows in places (frayed carpets in the hallways, broken bathroom fixtures in the lobby), but overall it’s a great place to stay in Central London. Very convenient for the tube and loads of restaurants.

There seems to have been a considerable change of staff since we last stayed at the St Martin’s Lane hotel. Unfortunately we now feel service isn’t as good as previously.
Our main complaint with this hotel is that we are never offered an upgrade and we assume this is because we book through Expedia.
On a more positive note, the hotel is in a great location.

it’s very conveniently located and everything was easily accessible via subway, bus and taxi. We walked to most of the places. Staffs were very nice and tried to accommodate us as much as they could. Room was clean. Only thing that I was not satisfied was the size of the bed. Queen size or double size was a little tight for two people. Coming from California, I thought the shower was amazing. Great water pressure that I have not seen anywhere in CA!! That alone was worth the stay!

Unfortunately we were on the first floor and our room was facing onto Mays court where there is a small homeless encampment, and was just below our window, so all night we had homeless people shouting etc. Peak was 2am to 4am.

The hotel was modern and our room was spacious for Central London. We got a room on the top floor and it was quiet ! The hotel is located very close to Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden and walking to other places in Central London was very easy. As we were celebrating our anniversary, the hotel also surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco and slice of cake - what a lovely touch! They also set up a separate bed for our daughter who was travelling with us without us even asking for it - that was so greatly appreciated! We will definitely stay here again if we return to London!

The layout with the courtyard is unique. I was surprised how we did not hear doors shutting in the hallway or street noises. The only draw back with the design was with the internal room doors not being a sound barrier at all to the bathroom area. Would still stay here again!

This really is a great hotel! Staff is very friendly. Stylish and super clean rooms including the bathroom. The location is fantastic and as others have described is vibrant and centered around west-end theater, restaurants and museums. Also it is just around the corner from a TESCO food market which allowed us to pick up snacks and drinks for our rooms. With the Leicester Square subway very close you can get anywhere in the city fast and inexpensively. We traveled with our wheel chairbound mother(-in-law) so we took taxis mostly and they were always available. We will definitely book our next stay at this hotel when coming to London.

The breakfast after a few days didn't offer enough variety but it was good and reasonably priced. But we were happy not to sign up for daily breakfast, as we explored other choices in the neighborhood. The location was superb. Hotels.com said we shoild have been offered a 20% discount on a meal, which never happened.
