We loved our stay at the Regent, which is clean, modern, quiet, and has all the amenities. It is ideally located in Mumbai. ALL the staff were extremely helpful and courteous, from the doorman to dining, reception, and room services. There was nothing lacking, and the overall experience was five-star plus.

Our stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The property is just steps away from the iconic Gateway Of India and Taj Mahal Palace hotel. Have a few good restaurants and bars nearby. Will definately stay here again.

This is a very old hotel it’s crying out for a makeover it’s in an amazing spot just behind the Taj Mahal palace, The Staff quite friendly, it’s not I luxurious hotel It’s quite a nice property but it would be lovely to see it been updated

Regent is the best option

Nice decent hotel behind the Taj I looked at all the hotels around found this to be the most acceptable to me. Decent size room, good locality, decent price for the area. Clean and comfortable

The staff were friendly, the property well maintained and the bedding and bathrooms clean and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and service good.

A special mention to the door staff who were attentive and to the landing staff who were always around if you needed anything.

The hotel is well placed to see all the sights and Tuk Tuks and taxis are always around to get to things further afield.

It was a very uncomfortable hotel. We where not happy with the quality of service and the rude service provided at the facility. We voiced our complaints and where told to contact Hotels.com for any problems and nothing was corrected at the hotel itself. The staff at the counter did not allow us to have a guest visit us at our hotel. They where demanding and very controlling of anything we did. They also didnt provide good hospitality, they have a sign that says be our guest let us do the rest and i feel as if it was a scam. We where also around another couple of people who didnt not like the situations the hotel staff where giving. Please if your interested find another hotel. Dont stay here.

it was clean, comfortable , welcoming, the staff was helpful and the location wonderful. My only complaint is around their policy to not allow people in the rooms who are not registered and no local India people . I was in Mumbai to visit a dear friend and when we in my are and wanted to sit and talk and use the loo I was not allowed to invite him to my room . This was embarrassing and not handled that gracefully by the front desk. And it is quiet an expensive hotel and I feel I should be able to bring my friends to my room if I please too. I am fine if they want their ID But this is actually a kind of discrimination towards native Indians, had he been a foreigner he could have joined me by submitting ID but not as a native Indian. The establishment appears to be owned and operated by Indians so not sure where these ideas are coming from but this is a reason I would not return to the hotel.

Decent hotel and Great location and....

Overall the hotel was nice as were the front desk staff and restaurant waiter, not to mention professional and helpful. However, some of the porters would constantly stare at my friend and I especially while we were eating. I mentioned this to the front desk and they seemed to accept it but whether they will inform their staff to not stare at their guests is a whole other story. My friend and I actually felt a bit on edge and uncomfortable towards the end of our stay because of the staff's lack of etiquette.

Well located comfortable hotel in Mumbai

The hotel was extremely comfortable and very well located in colaba, around the corner from the Taj palace and cafe Leopold. The staff went the extra mile for me, allowing me to shower in a room despite the fact I had already checked out as I had a very late flight. The breakfast was nice but choice was limited.

In need of some TLC

This was a bit of an odd stay! This hotel is in an amazing location, which is presumably why it costs a fair amount to stay there. When we first arrived we were shown to a room that smelt of cigarettes and was pretty dirty. We asked to be moved and were relocated to a much bigger room, which also had a weird smell - not as bad as the cigarettes though! During our 3 day stay they dismantled the stairs that led from our room to the rest of the hotels, without letting us know they were doing so.

The location was great and ok if you want to rest your head, but this definitely isn't a luxury hotel.

Didn't have room ready when we arrived even though it was later in the evening. Wanted to change our hotel instead of this one we booked to one further out. Finally got a room which was too small for 3 people. They wanted just to put a mattress on the floor instead of an extra bed but we refused.

THE place to stay when in Mumbai ;-)

Visited Mumbai for a few days to see the main sites. This hotel is in the PERFECT location and is a very nice place to stay. The room was really nice and the breakfast was yummy, even had good coffee (rare in India). Hotel staff helped us a lot and you could tell they tried to make us happy and enjoy the stay. I even messed up the dates but they kindly rectified the situation without any charges or hassles...thanks.

I was considering marking this hotel poor to average but that would have been a little unfair. My gripes include not having a decent breakfast seating area (it's on the 1st floor outside the rooms of others) - in all fairness they have limited space and do their best. No free Wi-Fi!! In this day and age this is ridiculous - beach shacks in Goa all offer free Wi-Fi.. The managers and some of the waiters are old & outdated - it's not a crime to get old but try keep up with the times. Act sharp. be attentive to your customers' needs. Only one waiter returned to us after serving breakfast and asked if we were OK. For an extra ZAR 500 / night the Hotel Sea Princess offers a lot more - free Wi-Fi, pool, beach access, buffet breakfast in lovely eating area, sharp service. But in saying all of this, Regent did look after us and the room was really comfy after a hard day in the sun. Clean and no odd smells. Fresh but simple breakfast. The doorman always smiled and this hotel has LOCATION in the heart of Colaba. Gateway of India was a 5 min walk, Leopold's Cafe is around the corner, Starbucks is across the road, the mass of informal traders are 2 min away. So if you are \"doing Colaba\" then choose Regent; it's ideal.

Overpriced old-world hotel

The hotel is located very close to the Gateway of India and the pier with ferries to Elephanta. This was convenient. And, proportionately the hotel room pricing was high. The room itself was not great : Dirt laden food-menu cards, only continental food options for the free breakfast and tiny bathrooms. We noticed that the guest register had a lot of non-Indian names on it, and weren't too surprised by the slightly patronising attitude of the reception staff. The hotel is very old, and the decors and services are old-style. I'd prefer clean, fresh and smart than antique and stiff mannered.

Great place to finish our trip to India.

Having spent some time travelling in India in budget hotels it was a welcome relief to end up for our last few days in relative comfort and grace before returning to the UK. It is difficult to remain objective as the previous accommodation was not as comfortable or air conditioned or had a wardrobe for clothing. It was perhaps overpriced for what you got, but Mumbai is expensive for accommodation generally. The staff were very friendly and helpful and added to the experience there.

a great stay

It was a great stay with clean ,comfortable,well conditioned cool room with excellent clean roomy bathroom with great hot water.Kind and helpful staff,especially the one at reception desk,whom took care of our problems very kindly,meticulously with admirable sense of duty(thank you) but the view of our room was not pleasant at all,in both of our stays ,opened in to dirty ,ruined buildings(the only bad point about Regent Hotel),the location is excellent,one minute walk to sea,Gate of India,Taj Mahal Hotel and good restaurants and various stores.

The hotel was right in the center of everything and cheaper than the Taj. A nice area to wander around at night time with street markets and bars dotted through the area. The hotel itself is clean, friendly and safe.

A good option in a good area.

This was a really good place to stay. The room was large and clean with a fairly good bathroom and it is in a great area behind the Taj Mahal Hotel and about 2 minutes walk from the Gateway to India. There are also some great bars and restaurants in the immeadiate vicinity. While there isn't a massive selection for breakfast, the eggs are delicious and they are cooked fresh and hot any way you like them. The only downside we encountered was that the hotel was next to a club of some sort that did functions and we were on the top floor next to an open air-party area. The night we checked in there was a party which had extremely loud music which seemed to gg straight through our closed windows and wall (it did finish by about 11pm however).

Location, Location!

This hotel is located behind the world famous Taj Palace Hotel and about 3 blocks to India Gate. Other tourist sites are in easy distance. Room was clean and service was good. It included daily breakfast, sheet & linen changes and room cleaning. Staff was helpful. Wi-Fi free on lobby computer or minimal charge for own laptop. Good restaurants nearby. Not too far from train station but about an hour to airport.

The hotel stay could be better than I experienced. I have concerns for two major issues (1) Bed sheets were not very clean. I noticed spots on bedsheets and covers (2) AC did not work well. It was warm in room. It was pleasant sleeping in room.

hotel rooms are old and the maintenance is poor. quality of tea served is hopeless from and indian stand point, and also there was hardly anything on the menu for an vegetarian person like me.The linen were also of poor quality.
The good things about the hotel are excellent location, nice and decent staff, and prompt service.

the location is great if you want to visit the Elephanta caves and the area is nice and safe. Internet wi fi was not working, breakfast was the minimum, not enough room in the breakfast place because it is inside a corridor, so we had to take it in the room, which was better for us anyway.Cleanliness perfect, but the room expensive in my opinion but this is Mombay...

We were blown away by the extent to which the hotel staff and management bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable in our hotel room, as well as on our first ever night in Mumbai. The hotel went as far as arranging a private car and sightseeing tour guide for us the following day. Great service and fantastic place to stay in the heart of all the tourist action in Mumbai. Nice hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful, and made our stay less scary for the first time in India! The room was clean and well furnished, and fresh towels were brought everyday.The breakfasts were good, offering cereal, toast and eggs if you're just after an easy breakfast to start the day. The hotel was in an excellent location for seeing India Gate and Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, and on a not-too-noisy street. Not the most up to date hotel, but still nice all the same.

The Regent is a superbly located hotel. It is right in the heart of Colaba with everything from bars to bazaars on your doorstep. The sea is a two minute walk away. The rooms are lovely and clean and the staff, in particular, the front desk were helpful and friendly. A special thank you to Tim for confirming our tours and for the photocopying. We had a truly wonderful stay.

A Brilliant Stay

As soon as I was given the keys for my room. I was asked for complimentary tea or coffee with an option of getting it my room or go to the 1st Floor. I chose room! When the tea arrived it was hot and was a properly made delicious cup of Chai. The room and bathroom was cleaner than my previous stay here. All this with breakfast inclusive for a very reasonable price, Just Awesome !

Except for the Too--crowded -and-cramped-lobby, it was perfect. We got a two-fer: A stay in India, but alongside a hotelful of Gulf Arabs. This was a plus: It made the trip all the more interesting. Hotel desk and other personnel were polite, helpful and friendly. The location was superb: it was like staying at the Taj for 1/4 of the price. Room was certainly adequate and clean for the price. Same with breakfast. If we ever go back to Mumbai, that's where we'll stay, again.

AC worked very well

Cons:
The wireless internet was spotty even when it was working, and it often was not working. The price was ok at 200 Rs/24 hours.

Overall I would recommend Hotel Regent. I've stayed 3 different places in Mumbai, and this was the best overall.

①初日は飛行機の遅れで泊まれず2泊だけしたが、2泊目の部屋のクリーニングがされなかった。掃除している方に「掃除してほしい。冷蔵庫に誰かの忘れ物があるからチェックしといて」と言ったのにもかかわらず。②初めから雨漏りがしていた。エアコンの水？おかげで掛けておいた服がびしょ濡れになった。床も入室したときから水たまりが出来ていた。③チェックアウト後遅くまで荷物を預かって頂いたのには感謝している。

Lage des Hotels super! Mitten in Coloba. Gleich um's Eck von India Gate und Taj Palace Hotel. Man kann in Coloba alles zu Fuß erkunden.
Hotelpersonal sehr freundlich und extrem bemüht. Wir hatten am ersten Tag kein Internet. Keiner wusste warum. Am nächsten Tag funktionierte es immer noch nicht! Die Rezeption hat sich Nachts und auch am nächsten Tag darum gekümmert. Eine Lösung wurde dann leider erst am Nachmittag des 2. Tag gefunden.
Wir hatten ein Upgrade in die Suite bekommen. War ein riesen großes Zimmer mit Sitzecke und Küchenzeile. Zimmer sind Renovierungsbedürftig, aber sauber.
Frühstück ist ein \"Complementary\" Frühstück und somit kein Buffet. Gibt auf der Karte Omlette/ Rührei und Toast mit Butter/ Marmelade. Kaffee oder Tee, das war's.
Würde dieses Hotel jederzeit- auf Grund der Lage, Preis-Leistungs-Verhältniss und Freundlichkeit des Personals- wieder buchen.

Rent og godt beliggende hotel

Regent ligger i et super fedt område - tæt på Gateway of India, lækre restauranter, andre hoteller, gode caféer & lokalt marked. Et trygt område med en masse gode shopping muligheder og i gå afstand til andre attraktioner. Hotellet var hyggeligt og de ansatte var søde og opmærksomme. Internettet var langsomt, men det var det stort set alle steder i indien, så det siger nok ikke så meget om hotellet.

La estancia podría haber sido plena de satisfación, pero la limpieza, parece ser que a los turistas no vale todo, nos han tenido que cambiar las sábanas porque nos daba la sensación de que no habían sido cambiadas. Hace falta más limpieza en las mesas y la cubertería en los desayunos servidos en un pasillo-comedor. Una pena, el hotel podría ser de diez si cuidaran la limpieza y los detalles.
