My wife and I have just finished our second stay at the Kantary Bay Hotel in Cape Panwa, as usual we were thoroughly impressed by its charm, comfort, and warm hospitality. The property has a calm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it perfect for anyone looking to unwind away from the busier parts of Phuket.

Room & Facilities:
The suite was spacious, clean, and well-equipped — more like a small apartment than a typical hotel room. Having a kitchenette and a private balcony was a big plus, especially for longer stays. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and housekeeping kept everything spotless throughout my visit.

Service:
The staff are exceptional — friendly, polite, and always ready to help. Every request was handled promptly, and you could genuinely feel that they cared about guest comfort, with great help at the front desk from Urai, Bow & Jingreed.

Amenities & Location:
Although the hotel isn’t directly on the beach, guests have free access to the private beach at its sister property, Cape Panwa Hotel, just a few minutes away via a frequent shuttle. The beach there is beautiful, clean, and never overcrowded. Back at Kantary Bay, the rooftop pool offers lovely sea views and a relaxing vibe.

Dining:
The breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of options ranging from local Thai dishes to international favourites. The onsite café and nearby seafood restaurants made dining easy and enjoyable.

We had a lovely stay at Kantary Bay Hotel, largely because of the amazing staff who are absolutely outstanding. They genuinely appear to enjoy their work, each other's company and interacting with guests. There were hand shakes and hugs all round when we left and we saw this with many other guests. The area is beautiful and largely free from booming disco beats at night, the food options outside the hotel were reasonable for such a quiet area and the massage options were incredible and very cheap!

Having said how much we enjoyed it, the hotel has obvious limits and is very much 4 Star rather than 5. If this matters to you, you might look at the partner hotel on the other side of the steep hill. What is missing from 5 star service is a hotel bar, pool service, and a place where you can be sure of an evening meal in the hotel if you want a quiet night (without booking a day ahead you can't access the Italian restaurant) and a better variety of food at breakfast. The coffee is truly awful and that does matter to us on a holiday. We ended up missing breakfast on many days and walking down to the 7-Eleven where the coffee is really very good and very cheap!

I hesitate to share any negatives because it was a lovely stay with a staff who genuinely care. The room was great, the sunsets were amazing, the mangoes were unbelievably gorgeous - the quiet road outside the hotel transforms at night into a market with 20 traders. Amazing place. Recommended.

A couple of hickups experienced during check-in were resolved quickly by the hotel manager and his friendly staff. Spacious, clean rooms with mostly beautiful views of the bay. Access to the sister hotel an interesting perk. Property is close to good restaurants. A late afternoon/evening street market was an additional highlight.

Wonderful views and location

Hotel is very spread out so a lot of walking and steps are involved. Restaurant and bar inside the hotel ate only open in the evening. Coffee shop is a must, great coffee, ice cream and cakes. Breakfast is good, apart from the coffee which is very ordinary...why not supply the excellent coffee from the coffee shop?

Amazing 2nd stay

My 2nd stay here in two years. The view of the sea from my room is spectacular. I checked in 3 hours earlier than anticipated and my room was ready. Not only was my mom ready but I was upgraded to a two bedroom suite. The staff here is the friendliest and most helpful I have seen anywhere in the world. Breakfast here is also the best buffet I have seen anywhere. I look forward to my 3rd stay.

Kantary Bay is a stylish tropical hotel where you can have a relaxing seaside holiday in a charming resort hotel lounging by the two pools, swim at the private beach nearby, relax in comfortable rooms, walk in colourful gardens with fountains, sit on the wrought iron patio furniture in the pergola with hanging flowering vines, cool off in the reading room with freshly baked cookies and enjoy free wifi throughout the hotel. Cape Panwa is a laid back precinct where you can enjoy walks on the pier, go for icecream/coffe, dine in indian and thai restaurants, have clothes made at the tailors, relax with massages. It's away from the noise and hubbub of Phuket City. You can go in the hotel bus to Old Phuket Town or Central Mall for shopping and more markets if needed.

The staff here make every guest feel special with their warm welcome and it keeps getting better while there. More apartment style with kitchen, dining, living and bedroom. The bed was so, so comfortable as were the pillows which isn’t always the case in Thailand. More like a friendly guest house than a hotel. Wonderful.

The service at the property is always fantastic. The staff are welcoming and greet you with enthusiasm throughout the day. The rooftop pool is great and it is a real bonus being able to enjoy the facilities at Cape Panwa Hotel such as the beach and the bigger gym. Always great and we will be back again.

Decent hotel. Breakfast buffet was good. AC in the rooms were ok. Other hotels/resorts in Phuket I stayed were superior. Power went out during part of our stay and property didn't seem to have back up power. AC didn't come back on until late that night (7+hrs). Happened on the day we were attending a wedding. Prep for wedding was miserable. Was drenched in sweat by time we left for the wedding. Not sure if I'd stay at this property again or refer.

Staff is excellent. Beautiful lobby, nice facilities at the neighboring Cape Panwa Hotel to use, good Thai food along the road close to hotel. Staff is the best part of this hotel. Good breakfast with lots of variety. People here work very hard to make people’s stay special. Most rooms (not ours, sadly) have a sea view. Good value. Taxi fares in Phuket are outrageously high, so it is expensive to go places and explore. This is not the hotel’s fault of course, but it is something to take into consideration when planning. We were very satisfied.

This hotel is very run down.
Staff unhelpful.
I broke accidentally broke 3 glasses and the reception staff threaten me that if I did not pay they would charge the housemaid. Very unprofessional.
Service was terrible. There was a please ring for service sign at pool but no bell or phone.
We had free drink vouchers and every time we went to use them they gave us an excuse as to why we could not.
Breakfast was terrible.
Afternoon reception staff rude. Morning staff lovely.
We were there for a family wedding.
There were 4 family’s with our group and we were in 4 different parts of the hotel despite our requests to be close together.
No lift in our block has to walk to the top storey with no air con and were sweating by the time you got to the room.
Room was clean and tidy housemaids did a really good job.
Avoid this hotel if at all possible.
Having stayed in Phuket 9 times this was the worst hotel yet.
Definitely not 4 stars the best things was the view from my room.

Plus's: Close to a very nice private beach where you can rent kayak's and other stuff for free; in a quiet part of the island but still some decent restaurants, bars, and massage places nearby. Great views.

Negatives: Very far from everything else, Phukettown, and other attractions so if you plan to wander far from the hotel be prepared to spend time and money on taxi's

Rooms were spacious and relevantly clean but definitely a bit old. Also as other reviews have mentioned there is some ongoing renovations in some rooms which made it noisy during the day

Great value, superb hotel, amazing staff

This hotel’s best selling point is the views of the sea and small islands it truly is amazing to wake up to.

All the staff and super polite and always looking to help you. Breakfast have a lot of choice and served in a nice and cool room near the pool.

There are 2 pools in this hotel a main pool and a roof top pool which as you can imagine has great views.

All the rooms are comfortable and well laid out. I’ve stayed in the deluxe suites twice now, which have separate lounges.

There’s a few restaurants in front of the hotel and at night the street venders come so you can sample some cheap Thai food. There’s also a 7-11 easily in walking distance.

You also get to share the facilities of their sister hotel which is amazing has a great pool, a private beach and even another pool on the beach itself.

Would definitely recommend going here if you’re looking to escape the constant noise and lights of areas like Patong.

Our 5 night stay at the Kantary was excellent. While it's not a swish hotel, the friendly staff and good service is great. Our room was more like an apartment, with loads of space, a large balcony with sea view, and even a fully equipped kitchenette with a washing machine (which came in very handy, being midway through our holiday, we could wash our clothes!)
The breakfast was good (great croissants!) and because it tended to get very busy between 7:30 and 8am with the tour groups before they set off for their day's excursions, we are in the peace and quiet of the secondary breakfast room off the main dining room. A good tip!
One of the best things about the Kantary is the regular shuttle between it and its sister hotel up the hill (otherwise prepare for a steep walk!), where you have full use of that hotel's amenities, including the lovely secluded beach.
A great stay, much recommended.

The staff was very pleasant and very happy to help you with any questions or concerns you may have and breakfast was awesome.

Only 2 bad things
1) it is a bit far from the main town. If you plan on taking many tours the tour companies charge an extra 200-400 baht per person for a pick up. Where as if you stay in Karon, Putong, Phuket area a shuttle pick up is free of charge.
2) although the hotel grounds were kept very clean the room cleanliness needs a lot of improvement.

Great location. Quiet and peaceful without the crowds at other places we visited. Next door to the Aquarium and enjoyed eating from the local food stalls just across the road. Plenty of other eateries and shops to browse in. Not too far from Old Phuket Town. Hotel was old but well maintained and very comfortable. Our self contained suite was presented nicely and the staff were very friendly.

Nice Quiet Place To Stay

Just returned from great visit to this hotel. We stayed 6 nights in the Bay Wing room 301A. Loved the room and view.

We stayed here on the recommendation of my auntie and uncle who have stayed there and the sister hotels 7+ times and were there when we were there.

Everyone we dealt with was top class from management down. Breakfast was was great and the staff in the restaurants were very efficient.

The great feature is the usage of the sister hotel Cape Panwa that is one on the most beautiful places we have been.

We will be back again thanks to everyone who assisted us with our stay.

Wonderful palm-treed beach with lots of shade umbrellas at Cape Panwa Resort, short shuttle away. Second visit to this resort, and does not disappoint. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Designated smoking areas on the beach were new this year and most welcomed! More restaurants in the area need n/s areas but not at the front where the smoke just blows in to other tables! A great holiday!

Excellent hotel with fabulous views. Booked a studio and got upgrade to 1 bedroom suite on 4th floor with great views and large balcony. Pool on top floor very nice with jacuzzi and again great views over bay. Can also use all facilities at Cape Panwa hotel pool, private beach and only 2mins away on free shuttle which runs until midnight very day. Area is nice and quiet with few restaurants and bars. Hotel is approx 1 hr from airport but well worth it, great value for money and the staff are also very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was also very good with great selection. Furniture in breakfast room a bit dated as also some in rooms, as hotel over 20 years old, but this certainly did not make any difference to fabulous stay. Will definitely be back.

This is the second year in a row that we have stayed here, the service is second to none and the hotel itself is central to everything in Panwa bay there are a few restuarants around it all serving the most amazing Thai dishes my personal favourite being anything with prawns which are absolutely superb there is also a little beach hut place out the back entrance gate at this hotel called the Sea Breeze which is run by a lovely Thai woman who is so helpful and always pleased to see you her food is really nice , cheap and cheerful should really give it a go . All in all the Kantary Bay is a lovely hotel , great welcoming staff in a very peaceful location for a relaxing peaceful holiday , will defo be back another year

Exactly as described in the brochure. A great place to relax.
Very comfortable accommodation being a mixture of older and new.
Two swimming pools, numerous restaurants and cafe.
Extremely welcoming, helpful, attentive and friendly staff.
Very clean accommodation and very attentive daily cleanliness to the hotel.
Buffet breakfast that simply spoils you with choice.
Met many guests who make consecutive yearly trips to stay at this hotel.
The 5.30 afternoon swim on the roof top pool provides views of beautiful sunsets every evening.
Already planning my next trip to this hotel.
Thanks to all the staff who made our stay at Kantary Bay so very pleasant.

Nice little hotel. Very friendly staff. The facilities were clean though frustrating not being given dishwashing detergent, tea towels, and a cloth. Also the plugs were to small for the plug holes. All this made it very difficult to maintain cleanliness, especially in Thailand with a baby. Other than this I would definitely stay again.

Excellent hotel /serviced apartment .
Excellent staff,very polite and always smiling and willing to help.
You can use facilities at Cape Panwa hotel
Only thing to bear in mind is distance from Phuket .it adds 200TBH for any journey,excursion you plan per person.
Overall very satisfied with our stay

Wonderful hotel in a stunning location

Fantastic stay at Kantary Bay Hotel. Highly recommend. Staff are lovely. The rooms are spacious & clean including bedroom, bathroom lounge & kitchen. The balcony had a washing machine too was really useful. Breakfast was good. Both pools were nice but the rooftop pool was quiet & had a fantastic view of the sea. Little mini mart on site & loads of restaurants just outside. Love this place. Will be back!

Friendly relaxing holiday in beautiful location

The staff at Kantary are all professional and friendly led by efficient management team with commitment to customers. Service in restaurants and housekeeping excellent. Good value for money and accessibility to services including sister hotel Cape Panwa with regular shuttle buses to private beach in beautiful cove surroundings with lift cable car service. Two pools. Shop and lovely cafe on site. Quite location with local restaurants within walking distance and short taxi journey. Night market on promenade with souvenirs and street food.

Value for Money

For this price it's a good deal. It's like a studio apartment with a kitchenette. You can do simple cooking. Bathroom is huge with a bathtub. It's peaceful and quiet. Massage parlours, eateries, ATMs, 24-hour convenience stores are nearby. The hotel bakery serves good coffee.
The breakfast was alright and by the third day we were not interested anymore. The hotel staff though polite lacked enthusiasm and warmth. They weren't helpful with some of our requests. Beach is a free shuttle ride away operated by the panwa group.

Outstanding stay

Outstanding stay as usual for Kantary Bay, Phuket. This is our 3rd visit, and not only their standard didn't drop, but it improved. Customer service is great, friendly front desk staff. Kantary Bay Phuket prides itself at being detailed and customer orientated.
Perfect for people who wants to relax and enjoy a clean, quiet beach. Top notch.

Super nice, super friendly, relaxing location.

The Kantary Bay Hotel was very nice. Right on the water, although there isn't really a beach, just a boardwalk. My room was huge, complete with kitchenette, living room, and balcony with pool view. The staff was incredibly friendly. Access to the neighboring Cape Panwa Hotel was a bonus. There is NOT a lot of nightlife around, if that's what you're looking for.

Great hotel for a relaxing break

This hotel welcomes you like a friend who has been away too long. The staff treat you as if you are the most important guest at the hotel and their courtesy and diligence is extraordinary. The facilities are well looked after and convenient. The free shuttle to the the sister resort opens up the availability of a beautiful private beach and additional restaurants and facilities.

Local restaurants and street food vendors provide an authentic Thai experience and complement the outstanding views across kantary bay.

A say in a the life at kantary bay includes breakfast (included in room rate), Beach, lunch (beachside), swim in pool ( 4 to choose from), massage, dinner, stroll or trip to Patong for nightlife.

Leaving is temporary as you will want to return to this home away from home.

Excellent 4 week stay in Phuket

Overall the hotel was excellent with very good amenities. Steep staircase to access reception caused me some difficulty.

Awesome, as always!

We have stayed at this hotel on six occasions and the personal interest shown by staff has always been amazing! The staff are always willing to go the extra mile, breakfasts are delicious and restaurant prices are very affordable. The hotel is getting a bit shabby and will need an upgrade soon. My children stayed at Cape Panwa hotel for the same rate and got a really beautiful and modern suite.

This was our first stay at kantary bay hotel as we have stayed in cape panwa previously
The rooms are large not modern but they have everything you need and more besides. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely return

Excellent Hotel

Staff were friendly & helpful & the service was prompt & staff were always smiling and made you feel so welcomed. The rooms were really spacious & the beds were comfy. The location whilst quiet was relaxing & from my room (438) I had great water views. Night street stalls are located just outside the hotel & massages are just around the corner. Breakfast was fantastic, so much variety and again the staff were terrific. The dolphin bar has a happy hour and is small and intimate and prices were reasonable. We ate at the hotel restaurants a couple of times - once at Uncle Nans (Italian) which was okay and once at Laem Panwa (seafood) which was dreadful- the food was not to my taste (tasted old) and this was the only place within the hotel that lacked a really good customer service. The hotel offers free wifi in lobby areas and in wing 1 they also offer a lounge with complimentary coffee /tea and biscuits and books to read. The pools and grounds were beautifully kept. Housekeeping was very good - rooms were always spotless. One warning is to be careful swimming opposite the hotel as I was stung by something and had to get some first aid which the Kantary Bay staff provided to me. There is a small supermarket right near the hotel - prices not as cheap as Patong but still reasonable. A good place to eat is Sawadsee just outside the hotel - nice food and very reasonable prices. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Very remote and relaxing

The hotel is in a very quiet part of Phuket. The staff cannot do enough to help you, and they made everything about the stay enjoyable. The area does not have much to do and is fairly isolating, but this is a perfect getaway if all you want is a quiet, relaxing break.

Very nice hotel for families.

Very nice hotel on the bay of Chalong. Its very quiet and you need a car to go to the city. They have a shuttle to go to different other places but its quite expensive. Two swimming pools and one on the top with view to the sea
The breakfast is great.
And you have a nice place in one of the wings in the hotel were you can make yourself and drink an espresso, a cup of tea or simply fresh water for free in the afternoon and in the evening (a little +)
The staff is very helpful and polite.
I think we'll go back on next holiday.

good facilities even it's not by the beach

the bank by the sea is beautiful, with the singing band in the evening. breakfast is abundent and diversified. pools, sofa area,wandering in the lobby area are great for relaxing. Though WIFI is not super but a good excuse of disconnection.

We are a yuong couple with a baby and were very happy with our stay. It is not a good spot if you want to be really touristy; it is great if your agenda is lounging, drinking and eating. Our room was huge and included a washer. The breakfast buffet was very good. We would love to stay again.

Too many steps.

The hotel staff actually went out of their way to accommodate us as steps were really difficult for me at the time so we ended up in the nearly separate part with a lift which was fine. We were very unlucky in that we caught the tail end of the hurricane and had torrential rain for most of our stay one day loosing electricity and it`s only then that you realise there really is nothing going on here and they rely too much on the shuttle to sister hotel for the guests entertainment.
