We had a fantastic two-night stay at Amatara Wellness Resort in a Pavilion Pool Room. The room was beautiful—spacious, private, and having our own pool made it feel really special and relaxing.

The resort itself is stunning, with peaceful surroundings and a real sense of luxury throughout. What truly stood out, though, was the staff. Every member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Given the resort’s hillside setting, the buggy service was a real bonus. Staff were always happy to collect us from our room and take us to the lobby or even down to the main road, and the gatehouse could easily arrange pick-up and drop-off as needed. It made getting around effortless despite the steep layout.

It was the perfect relaxing way to end our holiday—we left feeling completely unwound and very well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Everything was top tier. Staff really goes above and beyond for guests! I loved them so much. They made our stay completely magical. The room was so nice with our own pool and view of the bay. Exceptionally clean and comfortable room and the property was well kept and beautiful. The ambiance was very serene and zen. It was honestly one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The yoga sessions were great; I had the best massage there at their spa as well! We will definitely come back ! Highly recommend this place, look no further just book this hotel!

My partner and I stayed here for 9 days.

We had a really enjoyable stay overall and would happily return. The hotel itself was well presented, and our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up with great in-room amenities. Housekeeping was consistently prompt and did a fantastic job each day, which we really appreciated. The service across the hotel was also excellent—staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. We also enjoyed most of the food offered on-site, with a good variety and generally high quality.

There were only two downsides to our stay. The first was related to one of the restaurants at the hotel (Scene restaurant) Unfortunately, my partner experienced food poisoning twice after eating there, with symptoms starting around six hours after each visit. This was disappointing and something we feel should be looked into. The second was the room didn’t have access to Netflix or similar streaming services, which would have been nice to have when relaxing in the evenings.

Aside from that issue, we had a very positive experience and felt the hotel delivered on comfort, service, and overall quality.

Wonderful staff, excellent food, everything was perfect except the beach. We found the amount of trash disappointing and in total contrast to the rest of the resort. Obviously you can only keep up so much when things wash up every day but there was a fair amount of trash located along the edge/in the trees which the tide clearly does not reach.

In a quiet location on Phuket with awesome views and a jaw dropping infinity pool. We had a bay view room which was huge and a gorgeous balcony. We even had a bath with a view. It was a lovely touch having a free mini bar and snacks refreshed every day. The sun beds around the pool were busy, but we always seemed to get some. The buffet breakfast had an excellent selection although some dishes were cool when it opened at 6:30am, eggs cooked to order. Quite a few local restaurants within walking distance with amazing sunset views.

I absolutely had a great time here. We booked the pool villa and the view we had was outstanding. Staff was polite and also helped us with a 1 hour check-in. Property is clean and also the sea is visible from all sides of the resort. The beach is in walkable distance only which was great. Small and cute beachside restaurants closeby and in-house restaurants are also nice. Also to add the breakfast buffet spread was so very good. Overall had an amazing time here.

Very nice hotel with great views. We stayed in the Sea View Suite, which was lovely, though the view was mostly blocked by the restaurant and trees. The service was generally good, but I was surprised the hotel refused to help arrange transportation to get there. Due to an unexpected change in plans, I could only arrive for the second night of my two-night reservation. The hotel kept my booking, but when I asked for help setting up a car to get there, they said they couldn’t assist. Strangely, when we asked them to arrange a taxi to Patong Beach during our stay, they did so immediately (and charged extra of course compared to Grab) so I’m not sure why they couldn’t help with transport to the hotel.

One other thing to note: the hotel is in a very quiet, remote area. If you’re looking for nightlife, Patong Beach is about an hour’s drive away, so keep that in mind.

Large communal pool was well stocked with parasols, big towels and wide lounge chairs. The best place to enjoy the stunning view of the sea. Massages were excellent.

We loved this place!!! Amazing energy and feeling as soon as you walk in! Staff was extremely attentive and friendly, always helpful. Front desk 24 hours! The rooms were very comfortable and updated. This was an our second time here and it didn’t disappoint. The service and especially the housekeeping is exceptional. The resort is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. The pool is lovely although there isn’t much shade to escape the sun. The area is quite remote with only a few small restaurants nearby but transportation elsewhere in Phuket is easy and inexpensive.

My wife and I are vegan and we know our options will be limited. The options that are available are very good but we just think that there could easily be more things offered.

On request we had soya milk and coconut yogurt but we feel they should be options that are already out and displayed.

Also a couple of plant based pastries should be available. And maybe some smoked tofu as an option for vegans instead of cheese. Maybe some scrambled tofu with kala namak.

But we still will come back every year this is just a suggestion.

We love Amatara.

Absolutely stunning hotel. From the moment you arrive, you are treated like royalty. A very smooth check in process, greeted with a welcome drink and cold towel. Overall, we were satisfied with the hotel. Housekeeping was done daily, and the room was spotless every time. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The pool was enjoyable, and the breakfast was sufficient and filling. The hotel was very quiet, which made for a comfortable stay.
The only downside was its distance from the city center. While some tours usually offer free transfers, they may charge extra due to the hotel’s remote location. Other than that, everything was great.

This has been one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed on. The property is beautiful and has a private beach that is quiet and relaxing. The room has a direct view to the ocean and is spacious and nice. The pool is wonderful and so is the service, all of the restaurants in the hotel are fantastic and have a great variety of food, the staff is generous and nice. Also, the spa has very different therapies that I have never seen in my life, i opted for an Indian head massage and it was wonderful. The fitness center is very complete and they even offer personal training and yoga, TRX, and Pilates lessons. Me and my husband never want to leave!!!

A lovely ten day stay in an ocean view room - the staff were friendly, efficient and a pleasure to deal with!

We used the fitness centre and enjoyed stretch and yoga classes during our stay, the instructors were excellent.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and cocktails by the beautiful outdoor pool in the evening. An electric buggy was available on demand to takes us down to the road where a 5 minute walk ended with a plethora of choice of eateries by the sea, including local market food stalls.

We plan to return !

Resort has good view and everything but the food here was little bit disappointing as we are vegetarian and the resorts breakfast spread and restaurants had very limited options. Payed for the most expensive room but hardly received any complimentary services. The complimentary services were there but were minimal.
Amatara is shown to be a wellness resort however you have to pay for all extra packages to do with wellness. The buggy service was very slow and I ended up having to walk up hills.
If you come here for the fascilities and resort then book the budget room. It is not worth the price for the more expensive rooms as it ends up being an inconvenience compared to other hotels where you get better perks from booking a more expensive room room.
We stayed for our honeymoon. would recommend maybe 1 night here max but other than that the amneties are not all that to be splashing out on a long stay here.

Very nice quite Hotel, stayed in the bay pool pavillion room. Room views were exceptional. The hotel is spaced out and on a hill, so it can be a walk but the hotel will pick you up on golf carts. The resort is good for a short stay. There is not a lot to do on or around the resort. The cost of food within the resort is high, recommend taking a buggy to the gate amd eating along the water.

This resort is on the cusp of being great but for the nightly charge is extremely expensive for what they are now. The grounds are beautiful, the facilities are excellent and staff is exceptionally friendly, helpful, willing and very capable but they are missing the necessary management to make this worthy of the significant price tag. I never saw a GM. I didn’t have the chance to use the spa, but the room was spacious and comfortable. The rain showers and giant tubs are a bonus! The pool is picturesque and overlooks a spectacular view. The breakfast is tasty and plentiful but in general the F&B needs an expert to guide them. A GM to upskill and add the finishing touches would bring them to the next level. The cocktails are excellent and refined, but at a recent evening special event the food which was cooked to order was cold and the accompanying buffet could have benefited from some additional minor presentation improvements. One very basic point is the size of the plates. They are enormous and there aren’t smaller options. It’s difficult to present a meal well when the plate is overly large. It also leads to a lot of food waste at buffets. This resort is an enjoyable, comfortable stay and has a lot of potential to grow and be amazing. In the future I’m sure they will warrant the price they change per night.

The peace outlook and ambiance of the property is gorgeous. It’s an older property which gives it a great charm but it needs constant upkeep which is done to an excellent standard. The beach is small and really full of rocks in the water. Our pool villa accommodation was lovely. All staff were incredibly friendly, and helpful. Whilst it's on the quieter side, there was no form of entertainment or anything in the evenings if that's what you're lol for.

Cons - drain flies in the WC area of one of the rooms which never got sorted. Sockets not really working properly. No serving of tea/coffee or snacks after late 10pm.

Would I return? Probably not even though it was an okay stay.
