Horrible experience overall. The only positive thing was the architecture which was very nice. However, they only have one elevator near the lobby. If you have mobility issues, you will have to walk up two or three floors or walk a long way to the one elevator and back to your room. Worst hotel in our trip. Definately not 5 stars. The drink prices are ridiculous for Thailand and closer to NYC. Everyone leaves the resort for dinner and the place is totally dead. They would not even arrange transportation to the next resort or offer help. We had to do it all ourselves. Other resorts were much much more helpful. The beach is just horrible. It is rocky and it has a large commercial dock with cargo ships being loaded and off loaded. You also cross a busy and noisy street. Not nearly enough chairs at the pool and maybe 15 at the beach. No beach umbrellas. Just not a pleasant experience. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Okey room. A bit old. The poolbar is a joke, supersmall portions and super expensive for Thailand. 250 bath for a 18 cl beer. This ruined our trip. We have visited over 50 5 star hotel and this is the worst lunch we’d ever had. Won’t going back after this. Otherwise good hotel.

Good except for one staff member that was extremely rude to me. She works at the bar. I was trying to sign for my bar check at the pool and she very loudly and aggressively said I was not registered in that room. I felt completely humiliated- as she did this loudly and in front of other guests. I asked her to check with the front desk to confirm this was in fact my room. Which it was. She could handled this with kindness and discretion, but she chose not to. If the hotel wishes- I can provide a picture of this woman.

The resort is beautiful. The best part is the massive pool. The food was lovely and the rooms were comfortable. I used the gym which was quite reasonable and had great cold towels, infused water and shower rooms. I have 2 downsides- 1. The showers are weirdly outdated in the whole property. 2. The staff seem to be a bit lacking. We had just arrived from holiday inn which is supposed to be not as good as Sofitel, however the staff were on their toes, attentive and knowledgeable.

The stay at Sofitel was so fabulous, from check-in to food to service etc.. everything was just awesome.
The room was neat & tidy.. they have Indian rest., & that was serving unexpectedly good authentic Indian food..
Overall, I would recommend not to look around & go for it blindly.

Great resort. Beautifully maintained. Awesome swimming pool.
Food was superb in both Indian/Thai and Italian restaurants.
For cons, will mention nonsense amount of electrical switches in the room that turn on/off random lights. Annoying. Also, for a 5* establishment they should be a bit more accommodating when it comes to requests of late check out.
Instead, it feels like “we milked everything we could from you, so get the hell out now”

Lotus restaurant was amazing, especially Sao the manager took excellent care and gave us personal attention. Josh, Jib and May were outstanding in service and Chef Mahavir was exceptional. He prepared outstanding Indian fish dishes. We are going to go back to Lotus before we leave Krabi simply to experience it all over again.

amazing hotel , the size of this place is overwhelming, the pool is the largest in Krabi and perhaps whole Thailand, the place is full of activity places , withinthe pool , volleyball areas, ping-pong, racket ball, kids pool areas, restaurants etc.

Definitely a worthy place to stay.

on the dow side, the place is a bit far from town and external food options, and there's few taxis around, but I visited in low seasson, I think there will be more transport options in high seasson.

The Not-So-Good:
Unfortunately, my check-in experience was disappointing. I had called the hotel the day before to inform them of my 1:00 PM arrival and asked if early check-in was possible—offering to pay extra if needed. They assured me it wouldn’t be a problem, which was especially important as I was traveling with a baby and hoped to settle in before her nap.

Additionally, I informed them that we would be arriving by boat at the back entrance and requested assistance with our luggage. They confirmed support would be available, but no one came to help. Despite all these prior arrangements, we were made to wait 2 hour and 40 minutes past the official check-in time of 2:00 PM.

Another issue arose with my room booking. I had reserved a different room through Expedia, but upon arrival, I was given something entirely worse, I tried contacting Expedia multiple times, but their customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful. While this appears to be an issue on Expedia’s end, it remains unresolved, and the lack of communication with Expedia mainly

The Great:
Despite these issues, the hotel itself is a good place, especially for families with children. The staff were kind, the food, and the facilities well-maintained. One standout was Christian Ramírez, one of the hotel directors. Originally from Cuenca, Ecuador—a city known for its highly educated and warm-hearted people—Christian embodies all those qualities and more.

His professionalism, attention to detail was superb !

Hotel was outdated, far from everything & extremely overpriced. The layout of the pool was absurd - you have to walk 10min to get around it to the bathrooms & there was never anywhere to sit. The beach is across the street which was annoying, and it wasn’t a nice beach. The food was the only redeeming quality - the Italian restaurant & the maya restaurant were great. The buffet was odd & there were many sick hotel guests eating there, so sickness was bound to occur.

Overrated! Although it's a nice resort, pool is beautiful and property is good and lot to do within property only, but nothing outside the hotel. Its quite far from the main Krabi town, you have to pay each way 600 baht to get to the town.
Some nice restaurants within the hotel as well.
Staff at reception was very good and respectful , but staff by the pool was not very well trained and somewhat racist.
Room quality was quite basic, nothing special about the rooms. Overall nice place but quite far from the city, even if you buy any tour package, taxi will charge you extra every time you go out for any tour.

The staff were wonderful at the restaurants and kids club. We travelled as a family with 3 kids and one parent working, so it was a welcome relief to have the staff so friendly and welcoming to kids.

More than that, the staff were helpful on our trips down to the beach or with any questions we had about logistics.

Our stay was quiet, in May. Sitting by the pool watching the storms was a highlight.

The staff everywhere were fantastic especially at the pool bar and the lounge. Friendly staff everywhere, nothing is too much trouble. Very comfortable rooms. Huge pool and lots of spare sunbeds. Excellent restaurants. Amazing breakfast, such a big choice of food and great quality. Sadly jellyfish season so no swimming in sea but beautiful beach across the (small) road.

As a recent guest at the Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort, I can confidently say that my stay was quite comfortable and pleasant. The property is stunning and has a serene ambiance that makes it perfect for relaxation.
However, I must say that the excursion tour to Phi Phi islands that I booked through the resort was not worth the money. The trip felt very rushed, and we didn't have enough time to enjoy the beauty of the islands properly. I was expecting a more leisurely experience, but unfortunately, that was not the case.

Another area of improvement that I noticed was with the in-room menu and the Club Millésime food menu. As a vegetarian, I found that there were not enough options available for me. While the dishes that were there were quite tasty, I would have appreciated more variety in the vegetarian offerings.

Despite these areas of improvement, I would still recommend the Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Krabi. The property is beautiful, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. If you're looking to explore the nearby islands, I would suggest looking for alternative tour options.

The pool is great as it winds its way around the property, with a separate sections for adults if they need privacy. There is an excellent obstacle course on the pool for kids and adults alike. Given the time i.e. opening up just after COVID, we saw limited dining options, but what was on offer was still good.

The hotel was running on a very low occupancy yet they did not think of giving a closer room to pool access(which is their usp) as I had elder parents and small children. Inspite of mentioning that we are vegetarian everyday we had to explain again to get things made for us, which they did it very happily. The resort is far from the main area Ao nang and the hotel concierge does not give you any ideas or options of things to do. They are more interested in selling their tour packages which is 8-10 times expensive than the other providers. The stay could have been more interesting if someone could have been assigned to us to understand the concerns on food, stay etc. But I guess they are all returning from Covid and really not equipped to serve customers. Being Sofitel standards they really need to get guest relations on a higher standard.

Exceptional pool. Luxury room was spacious and well appointed. Breakfast buffet is vast, diverse, and high-end. Unfortunately the beach is quite rocky, so unless you go when the tide is quite high, it’s not easy to enjoy the water. But you probably won’t want to leave the pool anyway. Because of the pandemic, there are only a few shops and restaurants open within walking distance, and next to no street food vendors, so unless you don’t mind eating every meal at the hotel, it’s a good idea to rent transportation or plan a trip into Krabi Town or Ao Nang for some variety.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel Krabi! It was a wonderland for our son with a ton of activities for kids, from the enormous pool with the play area for younger kids to the star of the trip (in our son’s eyes), the obstacle course in the middle of the pool.
The service was too-notch, from the front desk, The Club (Bee!), the kid’s club and the restaurants (that serves great food).
As for activities off resort, the islands were beautiful and Railay Beach was wonderful.
The only draw back in was the beach in front of the Sofitel but that was easily overlooked with all the other activities we did over the 6 nights we stayed there. We definitely plan on returning!

Tuff times with a lot of changes due to Covid, but this did not hinder the quality Of hotel amenities and professionalism of the staff..they have very cleverly opened up a smaller wing of the hotel . with use of 1 restaurant and 1 bar open In the evening.
Breakfast due to limited guests, we ate in the club rooms and When the hotel got busier at the weekend they open up the larger breakfast restaurant by the pool..Food options Still Of a very High standard and good selection on offer..Rooms a bit dated but clean,overall a very comfortable stay in difficult times..

The best thing about the hotel is that it is really pretty and has a huge pool. Loved that there was an adult only side. Not too crazy about the swim up bar, because it seemed that the kids liked to go there since they could stand on the steps and platform. The bar service at the pool is terrible. Don't expect to lay in a lounge chair and get waited on. You will find that wait takes forever. They seemed more concerned about people eating at bar area. The rooms are very large. The bathroom we had wasn't that great, when you took a shower - water came out all over the floor. Over all it is a nice hotel, but the service is not great at the bars and restaurants. Went to the buffet for breakfast and had lukewarm coffee and tea. If you ask for anything it took a long time to get, if you get it at all. Ordered mango and it never came one day. Staff in the restaurants doesn't seem too concerned about the guests and they seemed bored to be there. We were very surprised by how slow and the lack of service since we picked this hotel because of the high ratings.

Booked 2 rooms for my family xmas getaway.
Hotel was worn out, not even close to 5 star rating....something I expected based on earlier comments I saw on this hotel.
However I was really disappointed with service on all levels on this hotel: - room service failed to clean the room but rushed in to check the tip on last day
- front desk was active to ask me to point all my inquiries to other parts of hotel
- pool bar and restaurant waiting times were looong
- hotel ran out of pool towels daily and failed to keep +18 year adult area for expected adult only use
- Breakfast was great but coffee waiting times were not.
- Pool aqua-aerobic classes were great but all aqua-yoga classes were cancelled with no advance notice.
- Something in pool water ruined all light color clothing making them orange....never seen this o any other pool around the world. Based on my google search this may be due to chemicals on water....and there is no way to clean ruined clothing.

Overall it felt like this hotel was severely short of resources working on customer service.

Beach was clean and well maintained. We went during August, which was a low season and hence beach was relatively empty. Shuttle service to Ao Nong beach was of good help. All in all, a highly recommended hotel.

Overall the quality of hotel is good. But during the last night of our stay, the air-conditioner made a lot of noise at 5am and woke us up. The hotel staff offered to let us change room but did not give us a discount.

The hotel is nicely situated away from the main tourist activities, which can be good or bad, depending on what a traveler is looking for. There is a shuttle that drives back and forth the Aonang where there is plenty of activity and takes 20'. I wish that the schedules were more frequent. But we visited on the low season which might be the reason. There are some great local places to eat very near the hotel, and food can be spectacular. The pool at the hotel is amazing! perhaps the largest pool I will ever swim in my life ...
Overall the hotel is of very high quality, and they are very careful on very detail that matters. Staff is extremely friendly and professional. It was sad to leave!

Really enjoyable stay. Fantastic pool area and lovely friendly staff. Breakfast is very good and rooms are comfortable. It’s expensive to eat in the hotel and go on the hotel excursions, much better value to eat out and arrange excursions locally. The hotel is full of smiles.

The Lovely Sofitel

We LOVED the Sofitel. It was beautiful. Great service, breakfast and people. Our rate didn’t include breakfast so we upgraded to the club which includes breakfast but also free drinks from 430-730. It was brilliant.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service

Beautiful hotel, photos do not do it justice. Service was excellent, all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was great in the Indian/Thai restaurant, in the maya restaurant and in the pool bar. The Italian was quite good, with a great wine selection, however I would stick to the local specialities.
Towels provided for the pool every day. Free shuttle to Ao Nang several times a day, although I wouldn’t spend more than a day there. Krabi night market was a great experience. Beach restaurants/bars are within walking distance and the food is delicious and very cheap!
The only reason I gave the room 4* is because our shower drain was not able to deal with the amount of water and flooded the bathroom each time, luckily it was a wet room! Otherwise the bedroom was lovely and the hotel was stunning.

Great pool & entertainment areas but disappointed

Unfortunately I paid more for my room than first quoted by Expedia, due to payment issues. Having used Expedia for almost all my holiday & travel needs, on this occasion I feel let down & disappointed but will be more knowledgeable on further bookings in the future with such groups. On check in it was bought to my attention breakfast had not been included. I was offered breakfast at a added cost. I now paid far more than what I feel the accomodation was worth. I do enjoy luxury & I am happy to pay the price when quality is delivered. In my opinion my room- the shower bathroom was old & outdated & didn’t provided a home away from experience. On one Occassion unintentionally after my room was serviced the door was left open. The door needed to pulled shut as not always the weighted door self closed properly. Very worrying & concerned. I don’t feel I received a 5 Star holiday experience from booking through to my stay on this occasion but definitely paid the price.

Beautiful Relaxation

Absolutely relaxing and enjoyable stay. Location was a 20 or so minute ride into Krabi town but the resort offers everything you need including arranging our day to James Bond Island! Enjoyed my days filled with many different activities and cuisines.

Great property & top notch service

The Sofitel Krabi property is very beautiful and the staff was very attentive. They responded to anything we asked for within minutes and were right on time with baggage services & car when we had an early checkout. There are many activities on the resort for children & adults. The beach in front of the property isn’t really swimmable but you won’t want to leave the huge pool anyway. Tours that need a boat pickup/dropoff on the beach right in front of the property which saves a lot of driving time.
We had an excellent stay & will definitely go back to Sofitel Krabi (& check out other Sofitel properties).
