I recently stayed at Krabi Resort and, unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations for the price and standard being advertised.
The main concern is the level of staff training and responsiveness. Basic guest handling seems to need improvement, as service requests were not followed through. We reported issues with the room air conditioning and fan, but no one attended to check or resolve them. The air conditioning itself was ineffective during the day, despite being set to low temperatures, and only became slightly cooler at night.
The restaurant experience was also below expectations. Breakfast options were very limited and lacked variety, especially considering the charges. There were minimal multi-cuisine choices, with most offerings restricted to basic Thai dishes and omelettes.
Overall, the resort has potential in terms of location, but service quality, maintenance response, and F&B offerings need significant improvement to justify the pricing. At its current standard, it does not provide good value for money.

Extremely disappointing stay at Krabi Resort — definitely not returning.

We arrived at around 9:00 AM, fully understanding that official check-in is at 3:00 PM. However, despite rooms clearly being available, we were still forced to wait nearly 6 hours, which felt completely unreasonable for a resort that markets itself as a premium beachfront stay. The resort officially lists itself as a beachfront hotel in Ao Nang (krabiresort.net)

Honestly, it felt like guests were intentionally made to wait so they would spend money on overpriced island-hopping tours and other activities.

The staff were not welcoming at all — quite the opposite. They were unfriendly, rude, and lacked basic hospitality. No smile, no effort to assist, and definitely not the level of service you expect from a resort.

The room was another huge disappointment. The pillows smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. Cleanliness and room freshness should be a basic standard.

Another major issue was transportation within the property. Every time we needed to go somewhere, we had to call the front desk for a shuttle/cart, and the wait was often very long, leaving us standing outside in the hot Krabi weather.

What surprised us most was the lack of a proper welcome experience. No welcome drink, no cold towel, no refreshing gesture after a long trip — something many resorts in Thailand normally offer.

The resort is beautiful and the staff are great. We had a room with its own private plunge pool which was amazing one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.
Location is perfect you can get anywhere on foot locally.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The private beach is there if you want it but to be fair not very nice compared to other parts but that is no reflection on the hotel.
The breakfast was plentiful if you want Asian food for breakfast there is a lot of it. Limited to other items.
Would definitely stay at hotel again

Most everything was perfect and the staff were always super wonderful. A couple minor areas for improvement would be that the air conditioner in our unit did not respond to any thermostat controls so every other hour you were either freezing or baking . which sucked while trying to sleep. Also the food at the resort could deal with a look at ways to improve the quality and selection. BUT over all, we loved walking around the grounds, seeing the reptiles, bats, birds etc. We found the staff to be great. The bed was comfortable. We found the perfect place to spend each and every morning sitting above the beach. It was a wonderful experience and we will likely return to this resort in the future (Our unit was M45 in the back of the property)

Our room was facing the smaller pool. The room was ok. Rooms were not cleaned most days til nearly 5pm. If you want chill or have nap. Made it hard because you know they will be coming to clean. We also found the door sign to clean the room later in the week. Not sure if that would have got the room cleaned earlier in the day.

We didn't spend much time at the pools. They were very clean. They had bars at them as well. We preffered the beach. Lots of shade with recliners. Bar was close by with the restaurant. If your ordering food it takes a while to come. The beers and sodas were not to cold. They use the same fridge for everything so it is opening a lot. A seperate fridge for the beer would fix that.

The breakfast had lots of options.Very satisfied with the selection.

Staff were very pleasant and accomodating.

Overall Krabi Resort gave us everything we needed. Very quiet. Outside the Resort are lots if food options not far away and shopping.

The Deluxe Pool room was large and clean (our attendant was great) and the shower was really good. The AC only worked when you had the key in the slot (to turn on the electricity), so it would warm up when you were out, but cooled down fairly quickly.
The pools were nice and the water was clean.

We had a second floor room with a pool view and mountains in the background. Breakfast was good with a made to order omelet station. The resort is located directly on the beach with good access. The resort is quiet, but also is within close distance to a large number of restaurants and within walking distance to many amenities. The staff at the resort were friendly and personable.

The first room they gave us (which they insisted wouldn’t be available until exactly 3:00 (check in time) had a view of a swamp. We had booked a pool room view at an exorbitant price which was supposed to be a circular room with all windows. They put us in another room with a better view but completely different layout. It was dark! The front reservation staff is not helpful at all. Very rude actually. Treated us like second class people. I happen to be a former diplomat. Worst treatment I’ve ever had at any hotel. They had no water available on arrival so we had to go searching for something to drink after travelling for 6 hours. Pool towels are always an issue and no where to find fresh ones. Our room wasn’t cleaned even though we’d requested it. No compensation or apology. On a positive note. The grounds are well kept and the food was good and the other staff were very friendly and helpful.

Our first night we went to dinner. Waited over an hour for our food. My husband had his eaten long before mine arrived. Had to ask for placemats and cutlery. Waiter did not wash down the table. Another waiter apologized to us and said he was a trainee. Needless to say we never went back for any meals.

I’m sure the resort as a whole is fine, but we were assigned a room in the “hotel” portion that was about as far away from any facilities as possible.
The room smelt of damp, none of the plug and usb sockets seemed to work properly and neither did the tv. The bathroom was old and looked dirty. We can’t review much more, as although we booked for 5 nights, we left after 1 due to me itching my way through uncomfortable sleep!

We stayed for 3 nights so did not use all the facilities but our room was lovely and spacious and clean we had a pool view room. We used the small pool with pool bar and had a lovely afternoon there. The breakfast was great, everything was kept topped up, coffee was good. Beach is lovely and well kept. Central to the main strip, go left takes you to the night market and right to the boat charters.. Fire shows on the beach just up from the hotel, plenty of restaurants and bars, massage and 7/11 perfect location.. All the staff were very nice and helpful reception was nice and quick to check in and out..

Terrible sewer smell coming up from shower drainage after pouring rain. Hotel sent housekeeper to clean the smell twice made it worse. And wanted to send someone again the third time no one came. We had to leave our room door wide opened to air out the smell. No other solution was offered.
Breakfast buffet was included in our room. Poor selection and quality of food. Even coffee tastes bad.
WiFi signal gets weak near beach chair.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel and would not recommend it to others.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the hotel is poorly maintained and lacks basic standards of cleanliness and service. The room was dirty and in bad condition. The walls were stained, cabinets were broken, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. The bedsheets had an unpleasant smell, and the bathroom was not properly cleaned.

We experienced multiple maintenance issues during our stay. The air conditioning was old, extremely loud, difficult to control, and at one point it was dripping water. The water in the bathroom stopped working entirely, and the balcony light was faulty. These are basic facilities that should not be an issue in any hotel.

One of the most concerning things we witnessed was the cleaner washing the drinking cups with the same sponge used to clean the sink, which is completely unhygienic and unacceptable.

The food was awful, with very limited quality and options, and room service is not available past 9:30 pm, which is very inconvenient for guests. On top of this, the staff were unhelpful and dismissive when we raised our concerns.

When we tried to upgrade our room or request compensation due to the numerous problems, we were denied, despite the clear issues and inconvenience caused throughout our stay.

Overall, this hotel did not meet even basic expectations. Poor cleanliness, faulty facilities, bad food, and unhelpful staff.

Very disappointed about my experience with Krabi Resort. This is a massive old facility not kept up. safety box is still using physical Key and requiring guests to sign agreement to pay 2600 Baht in case you loose the key. Felt like being scammed….Poor customer service. Being traveling around Thailand for a month, always enjoyed my stay and amazed with wonderful and kind hospitality. But krabi Resort lacks any of that…

The room was filthy, toilet seat was broke, back door didn’t lock properly and had huge crack in it so mosquitoes were getting in, the shower door was broke so every time we showered, water went all over the floor, the drain in the floor smelled like sewer so badly it filled the whole room, the tub faucet didn’t work. We went for our honeymoon and check in was rushed, we didn’t feel welcomed or special as it being our honeymoon. The grounds were pretty but the pool area felt more catered to kids and was very dingy looking - VERY disappointed. Also the ocean in front of the resort was gross and we smelled like sewer after swimming. Do not recommend

The location was great. The restaurant was being rebuilt and the temporary one leaked with all the rain but hopefully this will be remedied when the new one is finished. The hotel rooms need a bit of refurbishment and little touches, like only one bedside lamp for a twin room let this only be 4 stars for review. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Room spacious. Bed comfortable. Safe broken on arrival. Console for lights/fan outdated and unreliable. No USB ports. Air conditioning locked at 25°C. TV never worked despite repeated requests.

Deck furniture missing cushions. Only one delivered after multiple calls. Bathroom dim. Mirror spotted and aged. Sink leaked. Toiletries cheap, pumps broken. One tiny bar of soap for a week. Had to buy our own. Water not potable. Only two bottles supplied daily.

Housekeeping inconsistent. First days required repeated calls. Improved later. Management refused to speak with us despite two requests. Customer service worst we’ve experienced. No iron/board available though listed. Breakfast poor quality.

Beach and gym were positives. Everything else disappointing. Broken amenities, poor upkeep, and unresponsive staff/management. We do not recommend this hotel.

The hotel has a great location and potential, but I did experience some cleanliness and maintenance issues. My first room had a clogged dirty toilet, and the second room had some mold around the sink area and in the tile grout behind it. The pool and kids’ slide also seemed a bit run down. The staff was kind and helpful, but the property could really benefit from improved cleaning and upkeep.

Cold breakfast. Rude staff. Eventually moved to F3 with small pool that didnt work. Room not serviced on first day then was cleaned on second day after I complained but dirty linen left by the door until we left. Even the staff said everyone complains yet you do nothing about it so this review will also be useless. Will complain to hotels.com to try and prevent anyone else being disappointed and wasting their money. Everywhere else we stayed in Thailand has been great.

Feels very traditional, as opposed to modern and shiny. I prefer the traditional look and feel.

The room layout is beautiful but the pluming was an issue with no hot water for couple days plus the swimming pool drained itself and water left less than haft of the pool. It took couple days for the technician to fix the problem. We upgraded to the oceanfront room and paid for a lot higher cost but it was not worth it.

The room, bedding and my clothing after 24 hours was very damp and I had mildew growing on my clothing in the wardrobe. The pools were nice but disappointed that the larger pool was closed for 2days while the surrounding area was being cleaned and the pool bar wasn't open. The Breakfast was adequate but had little choice if you don't like cooked stews/vegetables for breakfast.

You can tell this resort use to be amazing. Sadly it has declined. We had a luxury grand pool room and were not impressed considering the price. The beach access is the real selling point of this resort. Off season meant the food was less than desirable from breakfast to ordering off the menu. The room was somewhat clean but no where near 4 star resort clean. It was okay for the off season but wouldn’t come back for the price.

The hotel resort looks nice from the outside. But inside our room, you can tell it’s been used up and needed some TLC. The bathroom towels that we had on the first day had dirt on it. Also the towels were old and faded. Please replace it. The room was big and spacious. On one of the days we had our room made, we got into our room and it smelled like poop. We assumed the house keeper took a poop in our toilet because the lid was down and the smell came from the toilet. Also, our toilet flooded so we had to tell the front desk who apologized. We will not be staying here again even though the beach front view was beautiful.

this is the only hotel with beachfront and easy beach access. You can walk on the beach to get back to your room from downtown or you can take the city streets and come in the main gate. You are centrally located with convenient access to everything. The only thing I can say about the hotel that is not be positive is the pools were green and pool water was not clear. The location, the landscaping and the beach access overcame this one issue.

The pictures make the rooms look bigger than they really but acceptable. they are actively working on upkeep of the property. We saw rooms being refinished and painting done all over the property. The landscaping is impeccable and the breakfast was very delicious every day. It's the only hotel on the beach with beach access and the views are beautiful. One of the reasons we booked this stay was for the swimming pools. The pools water color was green every day not clear water we hoped. We did not swim in the green water. The staff were wonderful. It is a wonderful hotel and a wonderful location.

Great location , but the in room safe did not work in both of the adjoining rooms. Very friendly staff. Our original rooms smelled so badly they graciously offered us another set of adjoining rooms. The swimming pools needed repairs and have seen better days. Overall we were satisfied with the experience.

Great location and amenities generally pretty good. Staff were nice enough and helpful. Some language barriers. Check-in not handled that well and room configuration not correct (or as requested when booked). Basic/standard rooms are very basic and feel old and tired. Beds are very firm (and in our case - broken). Maintenance works should be advised beforehand (eg. cutting off hot water for 3 days) and not after the fact. At least they provided a free upgrade to a better room (after we insisted).

Good but needs a few improvements

On the whole all of my issues with this place we're small and didn't take away from my stay, especially if you're out and about, but if you're thinking of this as a 'resort stay' then I would say it's not the best option. When I consider a resort, I imagine that everything I could need would be on site, but I was ignored at the bar both times I went and phoning / asking reception for anything was impossible. Things like tea and coffee being replaced was an issue and reception was not helpful even after a visit to them in person and 2 phone calls!
There was hair in the shower when I got there, but I just chucked a cup of water on it so that's fine. I also found someone else's medication under the bed and their food/drink was left in the fridge. My bed also wasn't made after the room had been cleaned so I doubt their attention to detail. Like I say, all tiny things but it does add up.
For me, the private beach was the real draw to booking here and I did love it! But I never once saw someone rearrange beds, pick up glasses (how they got served, I don't know!) and access down onto the beach itself is limited with just one set of stone steps. The location is fab, there's so much around!
Every staff member I interacted with was smiley and friendly. The deluxe hotel has a weird downstairs with lots of dust covered ornaments but rooms themselves are nice!

The highlights of the resort are the private beach access and the location right on the main street with plenty of shopping and food options. Downsides were that unfortunately one of the rooms we booked was full of mosquitos and had a sewage smell. It was quite challenging getting the staff to change our room but we were eventually changed to a very nice and clean room. Additionally we had scheduled a private pickup shuttle from the airport which they forgot to send. Overall service wasn’t great but if you’re going to Krabi for the beach and beach town then this place is worth it.

Seemed to me like the staff just didn't want to be there. Restaurant and beach bar was deserted most of the time and when we did manage to spot the odd elusive member of staff, they almost always pretended not to understand or pointed to light fittings saying 'no electric'. Very disappointed.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Krabi Resort! The property is absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations in many ways. The location is unbeatable—nestled right on Ao Nang Beach with its own private beach access, which made our experience feel exclusive and peaceful.

Our room had a stunning view, and both the swimming pools were clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing dip. Whether it was lounging by the pool, walking along the beach, or simply soaking in the scenic beauty, the resort had everything to offer for a perfect tropical getaway.

The only minor downside was the limited variety of vegetarian options in the food menu. However, everything else—from the hospitality to the cleanliness and ambiance—was top-notch.

I would absolutely recommend staying here, whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with friends and family. It’s the kind of place that leaves you with beautiful memories and makes you want to return. 🌴✨

Beautiful grounds and rooms. There were several things that weren’t as they should be (digital safe wasn’t working…had to ask for the key, AC was making an awful sound when we checked in. Had to ask 3 times to get it corrected. When maintenance arrived, he fixed in 10 mins. He to always push a bit to get anything done.

The resort is amazing! Close to all the bars and restaurants and nightlife Ao Nang has to offer, yet far enough away (set back from the main road) that it’s peaceful. The private beach is a huge bonus as the beach line gets quite busy there. The breakfast buffet was great! The rooms were wonderful and clean. Excellent resort with a great price!

Our experience was not that great at all. We arrived a couple hours early because of our flight to Krabi. Our room was not ready until 2:20, check in is at 2pm. Once we were FINALLY able to get to our room it was a complete disappointment. I booked the luxury grand room and the room we got was anything but that. The pictures online do not match the actual rooms at all. I went to the front desk to complain about this and the ladies told me the resort was fully booked but after I told them this was unacceptable that I booked the room based on the pictures that are posted online both on Expedia and on their actual website. They switched us to a different room but it was the exact same except it was an upstairs room. Upon getting into our new room we had to have staff come unlock and reset our room safe. Apparently this resort has a policy where you only get 1 room key which is a huge pain. We also had to go back to the front desk to get a special card that keeps the a/c and electricity in the room on while we are out and about.

The housekeeping and maintenance staff were super nice and friendly but in all honesty all the ladies at the front desk should be fired. They all have attitudes and act as if any request is an inconvenience for them. If I was the owner I would fire them and hire much nicer more accommodating front desk people.

I will be reaching out to Expedia personally and asking for a partial refund since the room I booked was not the actual room that we got.

We stayed in the older hotel units overlooking the pool. They were absolutely great. Space, baloney large bathroom. The facilities were excellant. Two teenage boys plenty to do. Beach on your doorstep with paddle boarding or kayaking. Pools, bars and massive buffett breakfast. Right in the center of Ao Nang so easy access. However once back in the resort totally peaceful. We booked a beach access pool villa and the room was very impressive. I really enjoyed the room, the pool was kinda green, but I believe there were chemicals added the second or third day which cleaned it up nicely.
I preordered the full board which included breakfast, lunch and dinner for those that don’t know what a full and half board are.
The food wasn’t that impressive for the price I paid for the room and being a resort. I believe most of the food is possibly frozen and not fresh but I could be wrong. I recommend buying just the breakfast or half board.
We had to request turn down service which was quite odd.
Other than that the stay was quite enjoyable, and me and my partner enjoyed our time in Krabi. The bed was very comfortable and I slept amazing.

For what we paid this resort definitely didn't meet our expectations. The room we had book wasn't what we expected. It was advertised as a grand pool room and we had no view of the pool. Its very quiet place. No vibe so definitely more suited for those who want to relax and read.

Our group of five really enjoyed our time at this resort. We appreciated the shuttle service from the airport. We all enjoyed the options at the breakfast buffet every morning. The pool area was relaxing & we enjoyed the swim up bar. Our rooms were very comfortable. We loved the easy access within walking distance to the main street with all the numerous restaurants and shops.

Great position on Ao nang beach front property. Nice rooms to stay in but upgrade for them don’t go for the cheap ones. Nice gardens around the property. 3 lee downs were, 1 both pools looked a bit murky so didn’t use them, loos near restaurant and beach were filthy and in desperate need of upgrading, seriously, a good regular clean would have been nice, I complained a couple of time about cleaning them!! Everyone wants chairs near beach as it’s cooler so maybe bring unused pool chairs and put more by the beach. Sadly though chairs not cleaned and rubbish not cleared end of day so if you go get a chair in the morning you have to clean it and remove rubbish from day before. Breakfast and drinks good but didn’t eat other than that, nice stay in all!

This hotel was in a good location for Ao Nang, it’s right on the beach, although it’s not the best beach it’s nice enough and you can look out over it whilst having breakfast. You could also easily pickup the water taxis a short walk down the beach. The breakfast was really nice, full range of options. The hotel grounds/gardens are kept really nice and it’s nice to walk around.

Where this hotel falls down is on the rooms and pool area. We had a luxury grand pool room, it’s grand in the sense it’s big with high ceilings but was far from luxury, the bath panel was hanging off, the plugs in bath and sink didn’t work and there was a big rusty bolt sticking up from the floor. You got two sachets of Nescafé, sugar and whitener which never got replaced. It was billed as having robes and slippers, didn’t have any, when asked they said they didn’t do them. The air con was so loud, sounded like a jet taking off so there was a choice between not sleeping well because it was too hot or too loud! The main pool was green and didn’t look nice, however the smaller pool was nice.

We were only there 3 days but overall we enjoyed our time there mostly out visiting other places and the night market across the way has some good food options.

Bottom line it’s nice enough but don’t expect luxury as billed.

Once checking into the hotel, the room conditions were terrible, nothing worked. The a/c didn’t work or the tv. The furniture had mold and the room didn’t look anything like the pictures. When I asked about the different pictures listed they said did you request a pool room, and I said that is what I payed for. The staff was not very helpful until the second time I asked to switch rooms. Beware of the bait and switch
