Our room was a good size and was confortable. The room and hotel interior was aged a bit, but still nice. The restuarant at the hotel had great food, but make a reservation ahead of time. It's a small town, but there some good restaruants around and in reasonable walking distance.

We had to stay overnight near Geneva airport unexpectedly after an incident shut the airport and choose the Domaine d Divonne. They were welcoming and friendly. In the morning we were having real problems getting a taxi back to the airport and Bruno on reception was brilliant. He phoned around taxi companies, other employees etc and managed to get us a taxi when it looked like we might miss our rescheduled flight. Excellent service, thank you

A wonderful property and very relaxing site. Gorgeous grounds, beautiful pool and very helpful staff. I would rate this hotel as five stars if the floor covering in the rooms and w.c. were upgraded. Our room had a big balcony with a view of the Mont Blanc. Divonne is a spa town and this hotel is within walking distance to all the amenities. I look forward to returning and would definitely stay at this hotel. The beds are comfortable and the linens fresh. The whole two stay was super!

Nice but could be so much more

Was hoping for more from this hotel. Overall I think this place is in need of some strategic updating, improve the materials and function without losing the old world charm. Negatives : The elevators are tiny and very slow. The room was hot and the a/c was worthless. The outside air was cool so we ended up opening the windows every night to cool the room down. This was done at the risk of exposing ourselves to anything that can fly or crawl though, as none of the windows had screens. Overall the decor was dark and old. The carpets were stained and in need of changing...we wore our slippers whenever our shoes weren’t on. The bed was pretty bad. 2 twin mattresses alongside each other that they were calling a King. I might’ve let that slide had they been comfortable but they were the thinnest mattresses I have ever been on and offered no supportive structure at all. Any amount of weight caused them to completely compress. Positives: Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location, building and space were all great. Nice balcony with our room, where we enjoyed their excellent quality room service food. Best room service scrambled eggs for breakfast. I can really see this property shining with right investment of quality materials and updating. Possibly listed on SPG/Marriott’s Luxury Hotel Collection. I really hope they give this hotel the love that it needs and deserves. It’s in a great location and has the space to really be a great resort.

Fantastic art deco hotel attached to the casino.

Amazing hotel attached to the casino. The state rooms, lounges, dining rooms, bars , restaurants were decorated in a more opulent time & are unbelievable. Set in beautiful grounds with swimming pool.
Sadly the bedrooms are in urgent need of renovation/decoration.
But saying this, I wouldn't have missed our stay, pure luxury. Breakfast prices excessive.

Beautiful, tranquil hotel in heart of Divonne

This hotel is really amazing. Art Deco-esque. It is really spacious and has a very very calm and tranquil feel about it. I got a really cheap deal, ca 100 euros per night, however the room was perfect. The decor is amazing, super neat tidy and clean, with everything you need, we had a balcony overlooking the beautiful trees at the front of the hotel, and overlooking the Jura. The staff was always very friendly and helpul. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel and will definitely stay again. i ate in the Magique restaurant and the games room restaurant, and the food and wine were amazing. Most excellent!

Unfortunately we stayed on the weekend of a French poker competition. Our neighbors were players, very loud at all times until the very early hours and smoke from their cigarettes wafting into our room, resulting in very little sleep for either of us.
We highly recommend the Indian restaurant and the Moroccan/Lebanese restaurant in he town. Sunday morning stroll through the street market was lovekybtoo.

Lovely hotel with a lot of character

This is my second time in this beautiful hotel. This time however I went with my wife for our anniversary. The hotel is full of character and the staff are always keen to help. It's a small spa town on the border between France and Switzerland. Perfect for a weekend break for couples.

Needs a serious uplift!

This hotel looks like it hasn't been renovated since the 70's when it might have known its golden age!
Outdated decoration, furniture, rooms, bathrooms... Even surprised to see flat screens TVs but then again this is easy to change...

Overall the Hotel is good in term of rooms, location, and other facilities.
The only thing that needs improvement is the front desk reception area they need to be more professional on handling the client complaint as I faced for example there was problem with hot water for two days with out any official notice or apology.
Another exampel : room service took the complimentary water before I drink it as well my own fruits I bought from outside the hotel , I complained to the reception desk and no real action has been taken from them. until I reached the Manager of the hotel rooms he was very helpful and he solved the problem.

Don't book for the spa

We booked this hotel relatively close to the GVA airport and decided to pay more to have a spa with jacuzzi, sauna pm and hamam. We used it at 8:30 pm and discovered at 9:00 pm the both the sauna and hamam where cold. When we got back to the room sand called the front desk they said they would \"turn on the heat in both.\" By the. It was too late to go back to the spa because of an early morning flight. Inexcusable for a 133 bed hotel. It also wreaked of mildew. And the carpets in the \"comfy\" from hallways were well worn. Room was clean and a comfortable bed.

Quiet Hotel, beautiful area

I like the hotel in general, its old styling design and a very quiet rooms and the helpful and cooperative staff. I stayed at a Comfort Double Room with a king size bed and balcony has a good view to the street. Hotel is connected to the Casino that also has inside restaurant. but, i'm highly recommending the small Bar food since they have an extended and Varied menu than the Casino's restaurant. the most greatest thing in this hotel is the very fast and competent wi-fi connection.

Lovely hotel with character in charming town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Domaine de Divonne. The hotel had an 'art deco' atmosphere and the grounds were lovely. Breakfast could be eaten in a beautiful outdoor garden. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. On Sundays there is an amazing farmer's market in town-an easy walk from the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel!

not a modern place...

hotel is located at the border of geneva/france in a small town. while the grounds are lush and the view lovely, the hotel itself has not been well maintained or updated... old school elevators that barely fit three people and have to be pushed open, window frames with paint chipping, carpet that needed replacing ions ago... these are a few things that would turn off a more seasoned traveler... most definitely not a modern hotel and not conveniently located if one is planning to spend time in geneva... also, they don't offer tours though the concierge was helpful in pointing out some key facts and places to visit... my opinion - this is an ideal location for a business traveler who just needs to spend a night or two and be off... the property grounds are certainly nice but if the hotel itself could catch up to the modern world on the inside, it would go a long way!

The best hotel in Divonne

This was the second time we come and it was a much better experience since the first time some 4 years ago. Now everybody is nice! even the bell boys which used to be the worst part. We decided to come back because now they have a breakfast buffet which was the only reason why we went somewhere else in Divonne. You have to go just to enjoy the view of the pine trees from the room's windows, the best luxury one can find nowadays, and the restaurant Quatre Saison in the Casino.

French Art Deco

Lovey art nouveau art deco hotel - all original features. Excellent restaurant La Terrasse but you need to book at least a week in advance and its closed on Sundays/Mondays so not helpful if you're there for a long weekend.

Pool area needs a bit of attention. Someone had started to clean it but given up about a quarter of the way through. Pool restaurant has a limited but adequate menu.

Good choice for breakfast but rather expensive. This is France so no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Adequate mini-bar, though ours was not re-stocked on consumption.

Staff are pleasant but not overwhelmingly helpful.

Very easy drive from Geneva, Swiss or French side.

Not a five star experience but stunning decor if you're a fan of art nouveau/art deco. Like being in an episode of Poirot. Also distant views of Mont Blanc, weather permitting.

Nice hotel attitude of staff needs improvment

Because we had a rather pleasant stay at this hotel last year, I and my wife decided to return this year; but it seems that staff of this hotel do not value a returning client, they gave us a hard time when checking in on 14 Jul 2012, assigned us a small room with a fan, (no A/C no balcony as should be normally), when we rejected they reassigned a reasonably normal room but made us wait 2 hours, as we kept complaining and asked to speak to the manager, they in a hurry assigned another normal room but kept us waiting in the room for about 15 minutes without a key to even turn on the lights. I told the staff of my wish to complain to the management about the treatment and the attitude and they informed that it will have to be after the week-end. When we came in our room on Monday, we found an apology memo from the management for being inconvenienced at the time of checking in. Also a plate of pealed (over ripped) fruits was placed in the room. I think management heard a one sided story and treated lightly with a little memo and over ripped fruits. We didn't want to bother to ague further or to extend our stay as previously planned.

The hotel is pleasant and apart from the fact that I was woken by telephone at 1:00 a.m. by the desk clerk, who conveyed a wholly incorrect accusation that my T.V. was too loud, is efficiently run. My T.V. was not even on.

The main restaurant is excellent and merits praise.

If you're not into Casinos don't bother to go. Lacks \"soul\"

Pretty building' and interior ; an overload of staff at arrival , many of whom were clearly \"under training\" ,a hotel frankly short of people and a rather gloomy soulless atmosphere prevailed. Parking directions on arrival were not clear - found out only after checking in - signage needs to be clearer to avoid confusion and ending up at the Casino (Separate Building) in error !! The local village has little to recommend it - a sleepy hollow and not over friendly shopkeepers. The breakfast ,whilst perfectly adequate was FAR TOO expensive. I get the distinct impression that this hotel has seen better times certainly in terms of clientele numbers. The Staff whilst perfectly pleasant re-act rather than anticipate - a hotel of this genre, a 4++++ , should instil the latter surely C/O OF IT'S MANAGERS WHO SHOULD BE CONSTANTLYCHECKING THEIR STAFF'S ACTIVITIES ?!

This is a reapeat stay for me. Each time has been very pleasant. This is an older redone hotel. Very charming. Staff very pleasant and helpful. I have always had a good sized redone room. I can only guess that there are smaller rooms perhaps not as recently redone but I do not know that for a fact. The town itself is not exciting, particularly off season but the hotel has great facilities, convienient to the airport, a nice bar for relaxing or snack and a wonderful restaurant. It also appears to have very good conference facilities.

The arrival was pleasant and attentive. Staff in every department very freindly and helpful. The room good sized and comfortable for two people. However, on arrival was told it was an upgrade(always nice to hear) because stanard not good for two people. As the one I had was not excessively large was wondering how small it could have been.

Had dinner twice in the Terrace. both times excellent in all respects. A bit expensive but not out of line for the hotel.

The hotel itself was well maintained and had a lovely deco feel, but some of the areas felt a little old fasion in style.

The town is small and not exciting, but it was off season and basically a spa town.

Overall pleasant stay, and can't beat access to Geneva airport.

BEST choice of more expensive Divonne hotels

In Divonne travellers have the choice of two 4/5 star hotels, the Domaine mentioned here and the older Chateau de Divonne which is rather worn out and poorly maintained, charming but more of a 3 star due to neglectful maintenance. This is something common in France even with higher star establishments, making the Domaine even more rare as it is a true 5 star. While the Domaine is newer, it is beutiful, on lovely grounds with excellent, beautiful rooms, and vast public areas. It also has the advantage of being in the middle of Divonne, with easy access to the lovely village itself.

We have now stayed at Domaine de Divonne twice, and thoroughly enjoyed our stays both times. The staff speaks English and is very friendly and helpful. Each time, they accomodated our special requests (including early check-in) readily. During our recent stay, our room was extremely large with a comfortable bed, multiple closets, a large balcony with table complete with linen tablecloth, and an updated bathroom. Room service is excellent, and prompt. I highly recommend the Domaine de Divonne and hope to go back soon for a longer stay.

L'endroit est riche en histoire et propre.
L'hôtel manque de rafraîchissement moderne MAIS convient à tous les budgets.
L'endroit garde sa marque au travers le temps et la tranquillité de la ville à proximité s'apprécie avec une courte marche le long de la rivière qui la longe et le casino à deux pas de l'hôtel.

Hotel magnifique, ancien établissement de cure thermale, construit dans les années 30 au cœur d'un parc aux arbres centenaires.
Style cossu, restaurant excellent bien que tres frugal, petit déjeuner juste parfait, service a l'avenant. Un vrai bemol, le parc mitoyen du casino de divonne avec accés au parking de l'hotel qui entraine du passage regulier d'une faune dans éducation et souvent en etat d'ébriété qui ne respectent pas la quietude des lieux. 2e sejour et a chaque fois du raffut au beau milieu de la nuit. Dommage car c'est insupportable et rédhibitoire pour quiconque souhaite profiter d'un 4 étoiles

Très bel hôtel, le mot que l’on retiendra est: dommage. Dommage qu’il ne soit pas entretenu, dommage qu’il soit géré par des personnes irrespectueuses et non professionnelles. Le potentiel est énorme, mais arriver à ce niveau de délabrement caché signe une absence de volonté réelle d’entretien. On y sent la politique de diminution maximale des coûts, et peu importe si cela impacte le client. Entre les erreurs de facturation (note doublée) les attentes interminables (manque de personnel) les approximations et incompétences (personnel débutant majoritaire, probablement là encore pour payer une main d’œuvre bon marché), les taches sur les tapisseries, les balcons qui se désagrègent, les murs qui se fendent, nous ne saurions recommander. A contrario le personnel semble conscient et désolé d’un telle ambiance de travail.
Bon sang faites quelque chose! Cet établissement pourrait être un bijou et vous le détruisez par votre passivité!

Arriver dans votre établissement est un beau voyage dans l’orient express. C’est un lieu dans lequel on se dépayse. Un ravissement pour les yeux et un bon remontant de moral.

Nous sommes très fidèles à cet établissement depuis 2017 où nous séjournons au moins une fois par an lorsque nous venons sur divonne depuis Lyon.

Hotel zou wat opgefrist mogen worden in de gemeenschappelijke delen. Kamers waren pico bello. Personeel heel vriendelijk. Ik zou er zo teruggaan. Op wandelafstand van dorp en verschillende goede restaurants.

Excellent accueil à l’arrivée et un super petit déjeuner. Le personnel au restaurant est très professionnel. par contre les chambres nécessitent une réfection car les moquettes sont tachées, la chambre n’a pas été redressée entre les 2 nuits donc pas assez de gel douche. Un lit de 140 avec un matelas à ressort fatigué. Une Clim très brouillante.
On nous annonçait un accès direct au casino et à son restaurant mais en oubliant de nous dire qu’il était déplacé dans une sorte d’Algeco non climatisé car en travaux
