Room was lovely and the grounds were beautiful. The breakfast with a view were amazing. The owner was super friendly and helpful. I wish I had been there during turtle hatching season. Maybe next time :)

Great experience

Hotel is located in the “jungle” It’s better to have a car because to the city is 1 hour walking. On the other hand your “private” beach is just in front of the hotel access the road and crossing short distance in “jungle” 2 minutes from your room.
The beach is wild, but empty with big waves, warm water also during the rain.
The owners are super friendly and kind. They prepare breakfast according to your preferences.
Room is clean quite well equipped. You’re in jungle, you should expect there are insects and bugs around.

The hostess was nice but due to having no windows it was extremely hot in the room at night. Also the owner has dogs that like to bark when anyone drove by no matter the hour. Luckily the hostess worked with us and let us cancel our reservation to find a more quiet place that had windows and ac.

It was a great stay. I think initially after a day of travel we were jarred by the lack of ac but honestly you adjust easily. The host was very friendly and helpful. A very calm relaxing stay, nice place to go to if you truly want to detach from regular life.

It was quiet and comfortable. The charm of the room made the stay very relaxing. We didn’t miss not having a television. The internet was slow so don’t expect to get any work done if you planned on working instead of enjoying the nearby beach.

Well this is my first time on that side of Costa Rica and my overall opinion of the property was OK the hot water worked and neither one of our rooms and nobody seem to care to fix it the breakfast was a little bit pricey most places include a free breakfast The beach was black sand not a very pretty beach no stores are close by and the walk to town is a good one I probably cannot stay there again due to the fact that it was too far from anywhere to eat but for the price it wasn’t bad the owner was a friendly lady

The breakfas was included but never get the breakfast, because the owners are not there to make the breakfast they are walking on the beach and don't care about serving the breakfast, second the ceiling fan in the room are VERY VERY dirty see photos, it is not good for the price for this place the price is not more than $60 max...I want add photos of the ceiling fan here but it not work ...
But it is REALLY VERY DIRTY

This place was the worst. The bed was so bad my back aches the next day, you can literally see the springs through the thread bare linens. The blankets were so used, I wouldn’t expect my dog to sleep on them. We came back one afternoon to termite waste on our bed, it was more than we could take. We happily walked away from the entire weeks pre-payment with no regrets. We use VRBO all the time, and this was without a doubt the worst place we have ever stayed at.

La cabaña es muy amplia y cómoda, rodeada de naturaleza. Los dueños son muy amables. La zona en general es muy caliente y húmeda por lo que se requiere de un buen ventilador (aire acondicionado casi no manejan en la zona), desafortunadamente el de nuestra habitación no funcionaba y al ser un lugar tan alejado de la capital no pudieron mandarlo a arreglar.

Relaxing beachfront stay

A lovely, relaxing place to stay right on the beachfront. Stayed in the cottage and it is very well equipped for a little getaway home from home, while the regular rooms seem perfectly comfortable for short trips or where self catering option isn't needed. The owner, Isabelle, is also very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend!

Really quiet place except for waves crashing in the distance! Setting between beach and ocean is beautiful. Minor issues with cockroach and damaged toilet but rooms are spacious and clean. The road along the coast is very rough. Would have stayed longer but for drive into Cahuita. Isabel and Roberta were very pleasant and attentive. Breakfasts were great and a small bar is available. No restaurant on site.

Beautiful place to stay! The staff and resident animals are amazing. So many things to go do and see nearby. We booked a horseback ride and they picked us up right on the beach across from the bnb. The beds are a bit incomfortable so, that could use an upgrade, but otherwise would HIGHLY recommend! 🤘

Amazing accommodations. Very friendly and accommodating host. One of the closer locations to beach than most other hotels on this street. Beach is right there. Loved to hear the surf all night and tropical birds all day. Bring food for the Kitchen . Not many places to stop and eat if you arrive after dark. This is truly a magical place. Gecko fights and cool nights

Kenaki Lodge is a nice place in a nice setting. It is within walking distance of a pleasant sitting area on the beach. Cahuita has several grocery stores and great restaurants. The bungalow where we stayed had a full kitchen, with dishes, coffee pot, fridge, microwave, toaster oven, dish washing supplies etc. and a nice 4 place wood dining table. The hosts can cook you breakfast if you're not inclined to cook for yourself. The bathrooms were separate, with a shower on one side of the studio and the toilet and sink on the other side. There was one king bed. We had nice hot water in a very elegantly tiled shower. Because the surf was high making snorkeling and fishing difficult in mid-Feb, our hosts offered to take us on a fishing trip on a near by river. Unfortunately, the trip was cancelled. I'm sure it would have been a unique adventure! My only complaint with this facility is that it needs a deep cleaning to get ahead of the evidence left by the large community of geckos living in the ceiling tiles, cupboards, and drapes. As with ALL the places we stayed in Costa Rica, one must be cognizant of crumbs and sugary things to keep the ants from invading. There is a nice porch with a pleasant sitting area to enjoy a beverage with friends while listening to the ocean waves. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Small run B&B run by a very charminging and friendly couple. Staff very friendly. Fresh towels and room cleaned daily. Breakfast was plentiful to keep your hunger at bay until later in the day. Close to everything you are looking to do or visit as long as you have your own transport. Offered good discounts on some of the local activity but only did a couple as we had a car and knew what we wanted to do ourselves. Deftly recommend the night boat trip with roberto (Isobel’s husband). The local national park is a must as you will see all the animals there that you have came to Costa Rica to see. I would definitely book here again if I came back to the area as they made our stay a very fond and special memory which we cherish for always. Thank you Isobel and roberto for making a part of holiday so special. The only negative was that we didn’t get to do any snorkeling because of the sea conditions but that’s out of anyone’s hands. 10 out of 10 and would definitely recommend anyone else to stay here

Nice rooms, nice staff

it was a very nice place to stay, a little difficult to find when we arrived cause it is a little far from Cahuita and in a dark road. People didn't know about it so they could not give us directions. I used GPS and still had some uncertainty I was driving on the right road.

The staff is very nice, very friendly. fresh food every morning and nice coffee, along with gallo pinto and eggs.

Some dust was falling off the ceiling, but nothing to worry about.

Isabelle et Roberto sont très sympas. Leurs petits déjeuners maisons sont excellents et très consistants, avec notamment le plat local composé de riz et de haricots rouges. Leur jardin est un parc à lui tout seul que Roberto peut vous faire découvrir si vous en avez la curiosité. Les nombreux arbres fruitiers attirent toutes sortes d’oiseaux tropicaux que vous tenterez d’apercevoir dans les parcs nationaux. A ne pas rater si vous faites étape à Cahuita.

Hyggelig og rolig sted i naturomgivelser

Flott beliggenhet 100 meter fra en strand hvor vi aldri så noen andre. Litt halvslitne rom, men fint nok - senga knirket noe voldsomt. Hadde ikke kjøleskap på rommet, men kunne bruke det på felleskjøkkenet, 50 meter unna, så det funket greit. Vær forberedt på å bli vekket av brølapene i trærne utenfor ved soloppgang i 5-tiden. Nærmeste spisested ligger 1,5 kilometer unna, 20 minutters gange på en grussti gjennom skogen. Evt kjører man inn til Cahuita på 6-7 minutter. Bra wifidekning på terrassen, dårlig på rommene.

Nature sauvage et tranquillitée

Gens accueillants et chaleureux, accommodants, belle grande chambre, dormir au son de la mer et dés animaux sauvages, belle occasion de s’immerger dans la vie réelle du Costa Rica. Me agrado pero la cama es muy mala, por el precio esperaría un colchón de mejor calidad es muy malo e incómodo se puede se pueden sentir las tablas. El lugar es muy lindo pero creo que a los cuartos les falta privacidad. La atención es increíble y súper amables.

L emplacement est tres chouette en face d une plage sauvage et deserte. Helas les logements nécessiteraient une remise en états, tout est vieillissant, les litteries sont en mauvais états. La promiscuité des chambres et du logement des propriétaires crée un environnement bruyant.

Excellent séjour de 2 nuits au Kenaki Lodge. Isabelle et Roberto sont des hôtes aimables et passionnés par leur travail. L’hôtel est très bien situé : face à la plage et très arboré. Les petits-déjeuner sont faits main, de saison et d’une grande fraîcheur.

El servicio del personal es excelente, lo q hizo la estadía muy bonita para toda la familia. La ubicación es excelente, a pasos de Playa Negra (25 metros).

La razon principal para no calificar este Hotel como excelente es el la falta de privacidad en los cuartos, ya que lo q los divide son simples cortinas y hacia falta un mejor equipamiento en los utensilios de cocina.

Teniendo en cuenta las altas temperaturas y alta humedad en el caribe de Costa Rica, tener aire acondicionado adicional estaria acorde al precio q se paga actualmente y haria la estadía un rotundo 100.

Si bien el WiFi nunca funcioni, y como lei anteriormente el desayuno no es muy variado, el lugar es impecable. Desde la limpieza hasta el trato del personal. Nos quedamos 5 noches y si bien es demasiado para lo ofrece Cahuita, no nos arrepentimos. Excelente Kenaki Lodge

Sehr schöne Lodges in grandioser Lage.

Isabelle and Roberto manage the lodge carefully and very friendly. The photos correspond to reality. The breakfast is appealing, tasty and good. The whole property is clean and well maintained. Only minus point: wifi is weak to very weak.
The location is grandiose. It is only a few meters to the wonderful lonely beach over a hardly used field road. The lodges are rustically furnished. The decisive: Location, location, location!

Me ha encantado la habitacion y el lugar

Precioso sitio, habitacion grande, comoda, con vistas al mar. No tiene AC pero no hace falta porque son habitaciones frescas y con brisa marina.
Los desayunos son muy cuidados e Isabelle esta siempre atenta a que no te falte nada y hacerte la estancia perfecta. Repetiría sin dudarlo.
Y la playa, toda para tí, puedes ir andando, bañarte y luego desayunar.
Un lugar con magia.

Un lugar para relajarse verdaderamente

El hotel está ubicado en una zona muy tranquila donde se puede disfrutar del mar y descansar muy bien. Por la noche uno puede dormir escuchando el ruido del mar. La atención es muy buena y personalizada, lo hacen sentirse a uno como en su casa.

Aquí el tiempo pasa lentamente, como muchos lugares en el Caribe, por lo que es ideal para descansar.

Los únicos puntos en contra son: las cortinas son delgadas por lo que hay cero privacidad y la cama es muy dura.

En general, la pasamos bien en este lugar.
