This hotel was fantastic. Super clean. The staff was very helpful, especially the staff at the front desk. Speaking very broken Spanish was not a problem as almost everyone can communicate in English. The breakfasts were very tasty and were included - we chose from a menu of about 6 main items. The property is roughly a 10 minute walk from the main street/beach. If we return to this part of Costa Rica, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel is okay — nothing special. The area is beautiful, with very tall trees surrounding the property, and howler monkeys waking us up early in the morning, but the hotel itself feels worn out. The rooms are spacious but very basic. Breakfast is fine, though not memorable. It’s about a 12-minute drive to the beach, but the road is narrow and not very pleasant. As a budget hotel it would be great, but it feels expensive for what it offers. On the positive side, it has good parking.

Beautiful resort style hotel in the middle of the jungle, yet close enough to restaurants in town and the beach.

It has its own private parking lot. Lobby is very nice and sheltered from the rain. Staff communicates everything you need to know and is very friendly. The welcome drinks were a nice touch.

The pool is beautiful and clean. The bar is spacious and it seems there is something for everyone, even the kiddos.

Our double twin room was spacious and clean. I only wish it had a bedside lamp and a table and chair in the room, but that's me just being nit picky.

Breakfast in the morning was great and staff was fun and helpful. I'll be returning.

I absolutely loved my stay at Terrazas. The location is fantastic, close to a ton of restaurants and bars, and practically across the street from the beach.

The staff is super welcoming and kind, and they even surprised me with dessert for my birthday. The rooms were very comfortable and the AC worked very well, as did the hot water for a shower. I also really enjoyed the toiletries; everything was top notch. I highly recommend.

The property itself was gorgeous with lovely and convenient layout. It is NOT close, nor did it feel safe, to walk to the beach. We had a car which was kept in a safe lot, security guard was never seen. We didn’t buy the breakfast and got to wear a bracelet that made sure we kept away from the breakfast buffet. Kids in the pool made relaxing at night difficult. Not kids fault, just don’t expect peace and quiet.

The air conditioning was fantastic but the furniture in the room was scant only had the bed. No place to sit. Very clean though.

Would stay again, but felt like it was advertised as more than it was. Be prepared for more family friendly than convenient couple time.

Yo tomé el apartamento de 8 huespedes pero realmente no es apropiado para 8 es Super incomodo, las personas del mezanine fatal la incomodidad imposible no pegar la cabeza y abajo ponen una cama doble en media cocina mas fatal aun.
Por otro lado me dijeron que solo me daban un parqueo y yo como, whaat? Como es posible que si rentamos un apartamento para 8 solo haya campo para 1 carro?? Al final me Cedieron el Campo pero me

I had to check out early and nobody was around. I went back to the room to try and call someone; my room door malfunctioned and I could not get out. After 20 minutes I reached someone at the resort. He broke open door for me. I paid my 3 drink balance with cash and wasn't able to get a receipt. I also had concerns because I was asked to write my credit card information down at check in; I asked them to destroy it when I left but he said I would get it upon checkout. Since nobody was there at checkout they still have my information.

The hotel is great. Nice all the way around. The only downside is the road to get to it and the other properties around it a very poor and run down. It is secluded and you don’t see any of the other areas so it doesn’t distract from your stay. Since it’s I. The rain forest we were awakened around dawn by the mono Congo Spanish. Or whaling monkeys in English pound cry. You’d think it was a lion. Neat to go out and see in the trees

Best value for the money. We stayed here two nights, surrounding is very beautiful, we got to see dart poison frog, Iguana, monkeys, sloth, and variety of birds morning and evening around the hotel. Location is quite and walkable to the beach, restaurants and shops. Food at the restaurant is very good, my kids had pasta and it was one of the beat pasta we had on the trip with fresh ingredients. Staff was very nice. Overall we ranked this place very high compared to other places we stayed in Costa Rica.

We really enjoyed our stay. Terrezas had a great pool that was open until 10pm. The property was beautiful and a 10 min walk to the beach. The front desk staff was great with providing information on excursions, off-site dining, and ordering a taxi when needed. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

The road to the property was extremely narrow and unsafe. It was unpaved and full of sharp rocks and damaged our car tire. When we finally arrived at the hotel, the check in was quick and good. The hotel clerk showed us to our room and informed us the drinking water was unsafe. He further explained that the hotel provided us with 2 small bottles of drinking water for this reason. He also informed us we need to pay $2.00 for each additional bottle of water (what OMG!). The room and restaurant smelled like sewerage. Our room was sparsely decorated. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and very small. The bathroom was ok with hot water. Many insects were in our room. The electricity continued going on and off. The TV was without any channels and was extremely small. No electrical plugs near the bed for charging your cell phone. Also the small shelves near the bed were leaning down causing whatever you put on them to fall off. My $175.00 bottle of cologne fell off and broke. Basically this was a cheap hotel disguised as a nice hotel. Extremely cheap finishes and content. We ended up leaving 1 1/2 days early because we could take it anymore. I think you can find a much better value and safer hotel in the area! They should close the hotel if the drinking water is unsafe!!

Rented the apartment with a kitchen. Stove worked well and microwave.there was not a spatula which was a bummer when I was making pancakes. Pool was beautiful and clean. We did not eat breakfast there bc there were other places where we could eat for less, and we had the kitchen in our apartment. It is a walk to the beach but. It bad. I did it every morning and loved my morning walks on he beach. Could hear howler monkeys from hotel and that was great. All the staff was great.

Contra:Property is beautiful but far away from center, must pay a cab to travel to and from property. This place is fantastic. Unit was super clean and modern. Beds very comfortable. Staff is fantastic, super friendly and responsive to every request. Beautiful pool area, great drinks and food. Morning coffee on the outside terrace was a wonderful way to start the day. The only downside is that it really not walkable to the beach, you must take your car but this was a very small inconvenience and only takes a few minutes. Mix of clients from all over the world. An added bonus is that the owners of the hotel also own a restaurant in Puerto Viejo called Cafe Viejo which served some of the best Italian I have ever had, so much so that we ate there 4 times !!! Great vacation and would stay here again without hesitation.

There's only parking for 1 car, when the apartments are for 6 or 8 people. The other car needs to find room around if there is some.

By far the worst experience in any hotel I have ever stayed in. There are no words to explain how traumatized I will be for life. There was a roach infestation under the mattress. See attached picture. We left immediately. We were given a refund but that is not enough. The hotel needs to be inspected before anyone else is allowed to stay there.

Beautiful resort. All the benefits of a resort and a rental condo. You had the same amount of space as if renting a rental home but the service you would get at a hotel/resort (daily house keeping, free amazing breakfast, pool staffed with a pool bar, security guard, etc). I spent 16 days alone in this marvelous hotel. I can’t criticize one single thing! The staff working there were all people with big hearts so i felt just as home. They did whatever to make me comfortable and happy. The apartment is grate including the kitchen. Loved the hammock on the terrace. I stayed in a deluxe apartment. Have it not been for the Corona virus I would have stayed for more days.
Very close to the beach and easy to take a trip to Puerto Viejo and Playa Punta Uva etc on a bike. I will come back the next time I arrive to Costa Rica!! Thanks to all of you!!

This was a great hotel! The staff was very professional and helpful. It’s a fairly new hotel, so everything is in good shape. The rooms were clean, good breakfast, the pool was also very clean. The entire apartment has two air conditioners, which is awesome. It’s a ten minute walk to the beach. My only complaints were that the walls were thin, so we could hear the family next door come in late and could hear their conversations. There was also a problem with tiny ants, so don’t leave one morsel of food out or any crumbs on the counters. Also, the floor boards in the apartment are very squeaky, so you could hear when anyone got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Overall, though, we would love to come back to this hotel. For the price, it’s a good value for what you get.

Perfect Place for a Milestone Bday Party!

I had a milestone birthday and decided to celebrate this one in Puerto Viejo. So 37 friends and family all flew in to help usher in this next phase of my life, and the majority stayed at Terrazas. I had people with very different travel styles and experiences from all over the world coming in, which could have been tough to navigate. But the great news is that most of them felt super comfortable and at ease at Terrazas. It has a lovely and relaxing atmosphere, and the pool is lovely. Most people also raved about the breakfast - it is a full, hot breakfast with eggs and rice and beans and fruit and other such yummy treats - and the hospitality - they all felt the staff was made up of beautiful people who went above and beyond and always had a smile and a kind word. We did run out of water in a few of the rooms on a few of the nights, which was tough for some of the older guests, but that was a problem indicative of a larger Puerto Viejo water issue. I must note that the staff was responsive in trying to address the problem. And at the end of our stay, the owner threw a little party to help me celebrate :) - we had limitless pizzas and drinks and an amazing Calypso Band. It was quite sweet. And the owner came and danced with us! Also, the day of my birthday, the staff ambushed me with a special pie and a happy birthday song. Thanks to Olga, Ramy, Jasmine and Josue, in particular, for helping to sort out such a big group and ensuring that we were well taken care of. Pura Vida!

Me and my wife stayed for one night as we extended our stay in the area for an extra day. The check-in was easy and fast. They have rental bikes either for hours or for the whole day.
The pool was in neat condition and actually deeper than most in one side

Property is beautiful, very peaceful and was perfect for our family of 4, for 4 nights. It was nice to have a bit of room to spread out and the deck was awesome.
Breakfast was good with a wide range of foods.
Staff were all very friendly and accommodating.
Great bikes, with gears, for rent right from the hotel.
Only bummer was hot water was a bit temperamental and our room did not have a safe. I think others did.
Would highly recommend it!

Terrazas del Caribe

Great place to stay, nestled up against the jungle and a short walk from the beaches. We loved being awakened every morning by the howler monkeys.

5 Star Caribbean Hotel Experience

My family’s first visit to Costa Rica. A beautiful new and stunning property!
Spacious apartment, with modern appliances and contemporary furnishings. Nestled in a emerald green nature setting. Professional and courteous staff. Large and comfortable pool area. Great restaurant with delicious meal selection. Terraza Del Caribe has it all! We love this hotel!!! A 5 Star experience. Highly recommended. Collier Family, Texas.

It is a great hotel and very helpful staff. The facilities are new and well equipped.
The only thing was that it mentioned 2 rooms but it was one room plus a mezzanine. It was ok for our family but might be an issue for others.

The accommodations and facilities were exceptional. I requested handicap accessibility since we had my elderly mother traveling with us. The room I had reserved was on the 2nd level and not handicap accessible so Terrazas del Caribe accommodated us on the first level plus gave us an additional room at no extra charge to ensure we had enough space for all 5 of us. Their personal attention to our needs during our stay made us feel like we were family. The facility and its surrounding areas are immaculate. Thank you so much to Natalia who made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely return. Thank you so much Terrazas del Caribe!

Perfect spot to explore the caribbean beaches

We traveled with 2 adults and 2 kids and spent 5 nights here. It was August, and for some of the time we were the only guests there! We had an upper room and had a TON of room and didn't even use all the beds. For us, it was absolutely perfect. We had a rental car parked in the secured and monitored lot (security guard at front 24/7 and automatic gates for lot). We were able to get to the beach quickly with our car. We used our full kitchen to do some of our own cooking when we didn't want to go out. The pool was the perfect size and temp for us to cool off after the beach. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable - even loaning us a spotting scope to see some of the wildlife around the property. They do offer excursions, but we did not take advantage since we had our own car and had already spent two weeks in country doing a lot of activities. Wifi was fast and strong in the room. We saw a large iguana out our bathroom window, small colored frogs around the property, and toucans everywhere! I would definitely recommend it and would stay again.
