After many visits to this beautiful city, I finally found a hotel that ticked all the boxes: an excellent price point (€40), a perfect location, and impressive room quality.

This is a genuinely smart hotel where almost everything is managed through their app — from effortless check-in and check-out to unlocking the room and even adjusting the temperature. It made the whole stay feel modern, smooth, and hassle-free.

The rooms themselves were clean, stylish, and comfortable, with an excellent bathroom that felt more like what you’d expect in a higher-priced hotel. The front reception team were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed.

Overall, this hotel was a fantastic find and exceeded my expectations in every way.
I will definitely be back!

Great position ,walking distance to many sights and metro to Thermal Baths and Heroes Square.Good amenities but the best thing about this Hotel are the amazing staff.
Super friendly and helpful ,especially Matyas and Liza who made our stay so enjoyable.Will definitely stay here again on return to Budapest.

Ok for the money but wishes cleaner

The hotel has a good concept of being all on your phone (check in/air conditioning/access to your room etc) however I think that the hotel needs a refurbishment in the rooms - there were paint removed from some walls, damage to the bed headboards, a lot of wear and tear to the rooms and due to this it felt unclean at times. The shower was blocked and had to tell reception about this (it was quickly rectified after telling reception), however feel that this is a basic cleaning check that should be done when a new customer is checking in - so have questions about how much cleaning they actually do to the room.
Good location and for the cost it was ok, but just wished it was slightly cleaner (would recommend bringing your own slippers to wear in the room as was slightly unclean floor).

Nice, well appointed room. Just off a major central road. The side street felt a little rough, but it was not far off the main street. My room was on the first floor directly above the entrance and a neighbouring bar so was a little noisy on my first night (Saturday), but was fine on the other nights. The app key was fine for the most part, but could be a little fiddly sometimes. The air conditioning also efficient and controllable through the app, even when out and about. I'm not sure the app added much to the experience over a regular key card/thermostat, though. Shower drained slowly, and the shower tray quite close to overflowing, despite being deep and large - although it didn't actually overflow, I was conscious of sloshing around in a couple of inches of water. Bed and pillows not the comfiest, though the bed was rather large! Overall a good value stay in a very central location. Trams/Metro all 8-10 mins walk away, though.

Would not recommend a stay here. The breakfast room was filthy and unfit for consumption, suffered from a fly infestation during my stay, coffee machine was out of order, chairs, tables and cutlery were all disgusting. Room was not in great condition, no nice view. Guy at the service counter swore at me when I raised issues, very rude and unprofessional. Do not go here.

KViHotel was located in a good part of Budapest. There were lots of bars, restaurants and cafes within walking distance. It was also only a 10 minute walk to the Metro. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. The windows however were not sound proof. We struggled to sleep on the Saturday night as we believe there was a bad located outside. The following nights were quieter. Disappointingly, there was no shampoo or conditioner provided, which we believe is the bare minimum. The Bluetooth key system could be fiddly sometimes but worked okay overall.

I’m going to keep this simple. The location was perfect. The hotel in general was really nice. However. For what this hotel is, I was expecting more in regards to details.
One of my biggest issues is when a hotel does not quality control their rooms. I can tell that the service being supplied by the workers there in regards to cleaning rooms is probably going to be subpar. Meaning corners are cut. And I can only say this from what I saw when I was there this past weekend in April 12 through the 15th 2024.
I found something wrong in my room, I’ll bet you there are many other rooms just like it.
For one thing, something so simple as the toilet paper dispenser. I don’t know what happened, but it was screwed into the wall with probably one screw and then caulked Cheaply. I have a picture to upload if it lets me. There was a piece of sheet rock missing to the right side of the toilet, and it just looked ridiculous. When I lifted the toilet seat, I saw yellow, and dark, yellow, dry urine around the under rim. And probably a quarter inch speck of dried poop.
I was not happy with it, but I didn’t realize it until the third day there.
I actually went to one of my colleagues room up on the sixth floor in a really nice space. And her toilet paper dispenser was exactly like mine. I said to myself this is what they are passing off and are happy with. SMH! More attention to detail and better workmanship, and fellness needs to be addressed. Front desk staff were fantastic.

First things first, the location is unbeatable. As a young traveller, it’s only a short walk from bars & nightlife which was perfect for what we wanted on this trip. However, the app keycard feature of this hotel was anxiety inducing before we even arrived Hungary. To check-in you need to download an app (I would suggest doing before you arrive) and use your confirmation details - for us this didn’t work and we had to contact the hotel for them to check us in. Next, our flight was delayed meaning that we arrived at 3am so no staff available on-site to assist. We let ourselves into the building and went to our allocated room - but we were unable to turn on any lights and there was no electricity in the room. We called the emergency number and ended up being upgraded - which worked out well but obviously an added stress and not what you want at 3am. The breakfast included was good - I am dairy free and rice milk was available which I was very thankful for in my morning coffee.
Air-conditioning, windows and blinds are all controlled by a panel - which took some getting used to but managed to figure out.
Overall very good - but don’t think I would stay again due to the stress with electronic key card system.

I was given a dirty blanket with a sticky residue and requested a new blanket using the desk phone and my personal phone. I was told since there was no staff on site that I would not be able to have a clean blanket until the next day. I had to sleep in a room with no blanket and I was hung up on the first time and when I called back I was given a supervisor’s number to see if the situation could be handled, but they did not answer the phone.

A shambolic e-management @ Budapest wonder hotel

A Very mitigated experience... A wonderful staff, an immaculate hotel, a superb comfi bed, in a modernly set up bedroom with beautiful shower etc... A hotel that certainly does pride to Budapest and its people... A superb hotel. But... Yes but... A glitch, yes, there is a but. The hotel is more like an e-hotel, like e for e-cigarettes... Too much reliance on its e- technology ans smart applications. And these failed me for 2 nights in a row. 1st night got all electricity gone off in my room at around 10.30 pm. And no one at the reception or no reception at all, to go and ask for help. Had to make a call to the virtual night manager on duty. Got hold of her. She guided me via the phone into setting up a new room key card through their equipment at the reception. It worked. I got a new room. The next day. I could not open my room again having returned from diner in town at around 11.00pm. I called the same emergency contact for hours but did not get any response. By 4.00 am, I had to sleep on a sofa in the reception /lobby without my medications, my insuline or a blanket to cover myself. I had to wait for the morning staff. At 8.00 am a receptionist turned up. She was shocked and sorry to what happened to us. I wasn't the only one who had to sleep in the lobby... She helped me get into my room. I was tired, traumatised and angry... All I needed then, was to rest and recuperate. I went to bed... and the story goes on...

Stayed at KVihotel Budapest for 3 nights. Our other hotel fell through so just booked it on the way. Location was perfect so central. Hotel was spotless and so modern. Everything was done through an app on our phones. Once we checked out we had the use of free lockers to store our luggage which was great.

Facility was amazing. Used the phone app, and had registered before we went, it was great, never let us down (which I'll admit was a concern before arriving).

Really nice hotel, big comfy bed, great shower, downstairs recption area is small, but perfectly comfy if your waiting for a cab.

In the perfect location too. 10 minute walk to the river, located in the 'party' district, but just far enough away you cant hear a thing at night.

The concept of a Smart hotel is an amazing idea, controlling everything from your smart phone was something I was looking forward to.
before visiting this hotel, I did few search and read few negatives feedback regarding controlling of room temperature and difficulty using your smart phone as a key, however, I decided to go for it.
My experience of the hotel was one of the best yet.
I stayed in room 201, the air conditioning worked absolutely brilliant no issue at all, although the minimum temperature you could adjust using your phone is 20°C However, you have the option of asking the bar attendant/ customers service representative to adjust as you wish.
Location was good, lots of bars and restaurants around, 10mins walk to city Centre and night clubs.
Breakfast could be better, am sure the brand will be looking into it base on your feedbacks, it’s very difficult to please everyone mostly those people out there with big appetite.
The bar attendant was friendly and helpful.
Check out time is 11am, However, you have the option of extending until 1pm for just 10 euro, which I did, my flight was 9pm I had the free storage option on site, which was great, I was able to wonder around without having the hassle of carry my luggage.
Overall, it was a good experience.

Overall a very comfortable stay

A very comfortable Hotel and great location. The hotel application was easy to use. The delux room on the 5th floor was spacious, clean ( daily housekeeping) and the staff on site where very helpful. Overall experience 7/10. The negative issues were the breakfast which I give 2/10 (Variety was very poor) but the staff were helpful nevertheless and the smart tv ( hardly any English speaking channels and the smart tv did not work hence was unable to connect my smart phone to the TV).
This hotel is not a family hotel. (Iron only provided on request)

Smart hotel, but a disappointment

Great idea, but lot of problems.

Hotel itself is nice and modern - Smart concept is excellent for check-in and getting in/out of rooms. Great location in middle of Jewish Quarter and well kept. Staff, when on bar, were friendly and place to keep your bags if you check out early.

However, hotel has a lot of problems not being addressed.

As seen on a lot of reviews, the A/C is uncontrollable in room - it was far too hot -i'm not normally one to have a problem with heat, but the room was stifling. If it's programmed centrally, hotel staff are not doing their job. Genuinely struggled to sleep in April, would be carnage in Summer.

Noise - again number of reviews have commented - the windows do not adequately block out the noise of the street. You are above two bars, and on a street people cut through. if you're on the street-side of the hotel, suggest you stay out until the early hours otherwise you're not sleeping much. We got in at around 1/1:30am and it was still pretty lively.

'smart' element of hotel is restricted to electronic key, room service and check-in/out. It was not the all-encompassing tech journey described on the site. We we're unable to pick a room upon check-in or control anything in the actual room. Truthfully, it's more like an 'Express' hotel you'd find in the UK.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and the location is great for nightlife, ruin pubs and most attractions. I would class it as a 3-4 star and as I believe it is fairly new some improvements could be made. The room was partially cleaned daily but tea cups we used on day 1 were there when we checked out 5 days later. Some comp items in minibar was a nice touch but replacing tea and offering coffee would add to the experience. The temperature was supposed to be controllable by the app but it didn’t work we opened the window to cool it not sure how this would be in the summer though. Breakfast was good but items particularly the hot choices were rarely replenished. Overall a good stay but these improvements would increase the score

Nice clean hotel with big rooms and good amenities.
Great location in the city center in a quiet street, but still within 200m of the two nicest ruin bars.

To improve:
Staff couldn't tell me if the busses were driving to the airport at night. (Google did say so, but some things in Budapest weren't the same as on Google)
No toothpaste and slippers which I'd expect at 4 stars.

The hotel is sitauted in a great area of Budapest. The hotel is great for the evenings, close to numerous eateries and the famous ruins bar. If you're feeling active the hotel is within walking distance to all the main attractions in the city or just a short distance from the cities underground.
However, there are certainly some downsides to the hotel. The idea of the smart hotel is great initially, but when you find your phone batteries draining from a day of activites, it's most definitely a worry to find that you can't access the hotel late in the evening nor your room without your phone as it's the only key you have, a simple key would suffice. Furthermore, once inside the room, as touched upon by other customers, the room is often like an oven and it doesn't seem to matter what you do to change the temperature, you'll be cooking whenever you're inside the room. Leaving the only option to open the window, thus resetting the heating to it's highest temperature. Somewhat bizarre.
Also it should be noted that our queen size bed only had a single pillow per occupant and we were also given two single quilts. Not a massive issue, but somewhat of a nuisance.
However, I must mention the staff we did encounter were all extremely helpful and quick to offer assistance.
To summarise, I would say that the hotel has the potential to be a clever innovative solution for its customers but at the moment its definitely feels more like an episode of black mirror than a hotel stay.

Worst hotel I have been to. Not worth a Dime

I understand the hole premise of being in a technological world but the concept of this hotel does not make any sense to me. If you know you have problems with your app(which controls everything in the hotel) the hotel needs to provide 24 hour service for its customers. From unfriendly check in staff to an incompetent security staff. I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. At check in, the app wasn’t working and that meant we didn’t have any control over the air in our room, when we alerted the front desk, they turned off the air to our room. We only noticed it at night when we all woke up sweating and when we went down, we realized they was no competent staff to help us. We were advised by security to just crack open the window. (How do you tell a customer to crack a window). Anyways the next day when I complained to the staff, they all stared at me in dismay as if I was speaking gibberish. The app didn’t work for us after two days and that didn’t seem to bother the staff. Among other things that went wrong , the hotel lobby smelled so bad, the staff was not friendly except the breakfast group, because our app wasn’t working we were rudely evicted from our room without us knowing and was rechecked into a smaller smellier room which was never cleaned for the remainder of our 4 days with them. Long story short it was a major waste of our money. Worst part of our vacation to Budapest

This hotel is smart hotel which you need App to check in and enter the room.
If you don’t have the App, the check-in will take a quite sometime.
Room is a bit small but very clean.
Hotel area is a little bit dark but seems safe though.
Good breakfast.

Great hotel! 1st time staying at a smart hotel and I really enjoyed it. Loved the lighting in my room along with lighted artwork on the wall. Very modern and clean and very central location. Breakfast included.

Initially, the app did not work. There was a lack of food items at breakfast from time to time, the room was not cleaned one day and there was no follow-up to repair the problem. But, overall, the hotel is quite successful and the reception service is courteous and good. Recommend

Cool little boutique hotel with \"Smart Hotel\" features; everything was controlled via App including check-in & check-out, opening door, temperature control, etc. The App which must be downloaded in advance was very easy to use and was convenient. Really liked the location which was centrally located in the hip District 7 area; close to many shops, restaurants and the famous Ruins Bars. It was easily walkable to the major attractions and about 25 minute walk to downtown towards the Danube river. The room was clean, minimalistic and the bed was quite comfortable. However, when we booked on Expedia the room description was for a \"King\" bed, but upon check-in on the App, it was only a \"Queen\" bed. The bathroom mirror above the sink was way too high for the average person, and the drainage in the shower was not great, but other than that the overall stay was very pleasant.

Terrible place, the all room smell like cigarette, I couldn't sleep the first night then i ask for a change room, the changed me but the new room also smells like cigarette.

Greit hotell men mye støy fra renhold og andre

Jeg hadde et superior rom med egen uteplass mot bakgården og stort bad. Veldig hyggelig og hjelpesomme resepsjonister bortsett fra en. Skulle vært smart hotell hvor man bruker mobiltelefon å åpne dører etc., men det tok ca 20 min ved ankomst bare for å få den til. Ikke smart i det hele tatt. Ellers er rommene ganske dårlig lydisolerte, at jeg hørte både renhold tidlig på morningen og andres vekkerklokker i ny og ne.

otelin bulunduğu yer çok güvenliği gelmedi bize ama iki gün kaldığımızda da pek bir olaya rastlamadık ama sanki her an bir olay olacakmış izlenimi veren bir semtte yer alıyordu. asıl konu sokaktan gelen ciddi seslerdi. Diğer odalarda da ses geliyordu ayrıca. Onun dışında tüm personel çok yardımsever ve güler yüzlüydü. Kahvaltısı ise ortalama seviyedeydi.

Hotel propre. Finition des chambres grossière. Il faudrait ajouter des serviettes dans la salle de bain, des oreillers dans les lits. Le confort du matelas est moyen. Il y a deux petites couettes dans un grand lit (elles sont trop petites, si vous aimez bien vous couvrir cela sera insuffisant).
Je ne vais pas parler de personnel, vous serez autonome, l'application fonctionne très bien 👍
Pour faire simple pour 99€ la nuit ça va mais c'est pas un gros 4 étoiles
