This is a stunning hotel. I kept thinking I may not fit in with the clientele! If I have a complaint it’s the same throughout Europe, and that is, no top sheet on the beds, just a duvet with a cover. But the duvet is too hot middle of the night and way too cold with nothing covering me. But that’s not a slight on this hotel, just a general comment on all the hotels I’ve been in this trip.
The staff are terrific with good English, breakfast I thought was excellent. My daughter used the gym each day and said it was really good and very clean.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful on the outside and in the main areas, lobby, bar, stunning entry! The restaurant and bar are beautiful but very expensive for what is slightly above average food. The location to seeing things in Pest is excellent and the concierge service, namely Kryzstina was superb for restaurant recommendations and securing us a private walking
tour. The room service was okay, they are not generous with towels or shower/bath products. It would have been nice to have the bed clothes changed daily. Overall a good stay for the price.

From the time we got off the taxi, we were greeted and everyone was welcoming and eager to make sure you are comfortable and enjoy your stay. The hotel is beautiful and spa services are very nice. I definitely recommend the breakfast buffet! The most lavish spread I have experienced in 30 years of travel!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was very quiet as it faced into a central courtyard, so no street noise keeping us awake. Bed comfortable, decent shower, big fluffy towels, robes and slippers, good selection of food at breakfast (we’re vegetarian). Ideal location for the opera. A little way from other main attractions but can walk in about 25 mins. All very good would recommend this hotel.

A beautiful hotel, not far from New York cafe. I had booked us an executive room so we had access to the spa and the executive lounge. We also received a very nice upgrade upon check-in to a a two room suite.
The spa is delightful and the executive lounge could not have been better. Mike the concierge at the executive lounge made us extremely welcome and his service was exemplary. We had cocktails and even a light dinner one evening in the lounge.
The breakfast buffet was extensive, good quality and included a freshly prepared omelette station. There was a small selection of gluten free bread and crackers.
The hotel is on a fairly busy street with a little street noise on Saturday night.
Overall highly recommended!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Corinthia in Budapest during a trip with friends and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We stayed in an Executive Suite, which was absolutely amazing - spacious, comfortable and such a treat for a special birthday weekend away. The location of the hotel is perfect, making it really easy to explore the city.

The spa is beautiful and was the perfect place to relax, and the Executive Lounge was fantastic with great drinks and a lovely atmosphere. What really made the stay though was the staff, every single person we encountered was friendly, welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us. The front desk team were especially helpful and always greeted us with a smile.

It truly was a perfect stay from start to finish, and we would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Budapest. We will definitely be back! ✨

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was disappointing. Our bathroom had a strong sewer smell throughout our stay. We reported it to the staff, and although they attempted to fix it, the odor never fully went away. The bathroom faucet also leaked even when tightly closed; their repair only slightly improved the issue but did not resolve it.

In addition, the pool and spa were colder than expected, which made them unpleasant to use. Finally, the breakfast price of €30 per person felt excessive for what was offered.

Because of these issues, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again if I return to Budapest.

Junior Suite was spacious with two bathrooms, well appointed, nespresso coffee machine and the most fluffy towels and bathrobes complete the feeling of luxury. Access to the Executive room made such a difference to our time in the hotel providing good food and a range of drinks combined with great service.

The hotel is historic and is nicely renovated. My room, a deluxe category room, was well appointed and large. The bed was exceptionally comfortable.
I was disappointed that the room overlooked an interior atrium and did not have a view to the outside or access to natural light. Given the layout of the hotel, this seems to be the case for a majority of the rooms.
The furnishings showed a bit of wear.
I felt the service was a bit cold and impersonal, probably a result of being such a big hotel.

This is one of the nicest hotels that I've stayed in. It is a very classic >100 year old property with elegance everywhere. The room was very nice and clean. The buffet breakfast was exceptional, with choice of Champagnes and very wide selection of excellent food. The dining room featured a small classic orchestra at dinner. The pool/spa was amazing. The location was super convenient. And the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Well-deserving of 5-stars!!

We booked the executive room, like the one we enjoyed on past visits, but on this occasion it was disappointing. The check in wait was long but we got our room in reasonable time. The room was fine but overlooked the entry hallway and stairs to a party room. The noise from all the activities was extremely disrupting. In the daytime it wasn't a bother but in late hours the sound of deep base disrupted our sleep. Our complaints were noted but the hotel could not correct this at the time. The staff in general were pleasant but lacked training in hospitality. This was noticeable at breakfast. We were seated in a dark annex with no attentive staff. The seating management was poor, they even placed other guests on our table after we went to get food. The breakfast selection was reasonable but not always available and getting a coffee wasn't an easy experience. The staff kept getting basic requests wrong or simply forgetting about them. The following day was a small improvement. We had the executive suite access and enjoyed it the most. The young lady serving that area was attentive. The spa was ok, although many children occupied the loungers so we only stayed a short time. Because we had a serious complaint with our stay, the manager respectfully offered compensation at check out. This is still to be received after two weeks. For a five star hotel a drop in standard of service is noticeable. It saddens me not to recommend staying here as the place is a grand venue.

Each member of staff we encountered were fantastic and helpful.
Our room was huge with a comfy bed and magnificent bathroom which has everything in it that you could possibly need.
Downside to the room; the room was far too hot even in December. The air con wouldn’t go to a cooler setting and because we was facing inside there was no colder air getting into the room.
Spa was brilliant, can get busy for beds pretty quick.

So sad to give such a lovely property poor reviews. First let me say the doormen and restaurant staff were exceptionally kind.

Here’s where the place goes off the rails- first the room temp was set at 70 degrees but honestly felt like 75. We asked if they could cool the room but they had no ability to reduce the temperature.
I paid a 400.00 deposit for incidentals- I have made multiple calls, several emails and have yet to receive my deposit back.
Finally the grand finale - when I inquired about a Jewish restaurant in town the concierge stated “ you don’t want to go there … it’s a Jewish restaurant and they are not that nice there”.

Do not let the beautiful interior and luxury rating misguide you ! Steer clear

NO HEAT!!! The heating system was NOT turned on in December. In Budapest. (Turning the thermostat to high only blew cold air making the room colder). The front desk explained to me that the heating system was old, and that too many rooms would be too hot if they turned it on. They did send a portable electric radiator which helped a bit. Most of the time when I was in the room I was laying underneath the covers trying to stay warm. Not a pleasant experience, and this colored my entire experience.

We asked for a quiet room overlooking the Atrium, but were kept up the first night due to the A/C being permanently on warm air and had to call out the engineer to reset the system. The second night there was a conference in the atrium and the banqueting team were working till 24:30 so little sleep again the second night! Staff were wonderful, room great and breakfast and spa superb so will return but choose a different room!

The hotel is really really pretty, and the facilities are very good. The breakfast was nice and varied. The sauna is ridiculously hot (good thing), and the jacuzzi is good. The pool I can’t believe is heated, as it’s freezing. The gym is just a typical hotel gym (max 10kg weights and couple of treadmills.

The staff are quite stiff, but I think it might be a culture thing.

Make sure to have items included in your booking package though, because my god the prices are astronomical for the Spa, Breakfast, massages etc. I’ve been countless places, and the massages are the most expensive I’ve ever seen. We got a room upgrade, but was pretty much the same but on the front of the building, to which you can hear everything, and must of got woken up from emergency services every hour.

We upgraded as it was my husbands birthday trip. I spoke to the hotel about doing something nice on arrival or the day of his birthday. I was told that guest relations have been made aware and this would be sorted, however it wasn’t which was a complete disappointment.

The room we upgraded to, the shower was broken and there was a flood in the bathroom. Ontop of that the tv wasn’t working. We spoke to reception, someone came to look at the shower and said someone will come in the morning to sort it, which wasn’t good enough. Secondly we were told IT would come to fix the TV issue but then received another call to say no one was available to do this overnight and they would send someone in the morning. Again not good enough.

The second day when we returned to the room after being out, nothing was sorted. So we spoke to reception and a manager was sent up. He came and offered a room change. But we only had that night left at the hotel. We questioned why this wasn’t offered the night before and he was apologetic and said it was a communication error.

He managed to sort out the TV and apologised for the shower situation as well. He offered a later checkout before we caught our flight.

The breakfast selection wasn’t great, the fruit was mouldy and not enough space to sit and eat.

Considering it was a viral top of the range hotel, unfortunately our experience wasn’t great.

Grand old hotel (1896 I think), which was refurbished around 20 years ago. Large, elegant public rooms and the hotel has the potential to be a proper international “5-star” property - but it is not right now.
Stayed 1 night in a Deluxe room. Classic furnishings and decor which looked like it hadn’t been upgraded for 20 years. Carpet was clean enough but heavily worn, especially outside the bathroom. Bed was VERY uncomfortable - which prevented me sleeping - far too soft, or maybe the springs / mattress had collapsed. Wanted a hot bath but the tap water was filthy brown (see picture) and the mechanism to open the plug was broken so the dirty water stayed in the tub overnight - used bottled water for brushing teeth. Lots of dust on the bedside light stands, one of the two reading lights didn’t work at all, and thick dirt on the bathroom radiator control - fully visible when sitting on the loo.

The pool / spa is excellent - spacious and clean, but not included in all room-rates.

Shocked to discover that in the year 2025 the room has no USB sockets at all, and just ONE accessible power socket - at floor level in the corner as far away from the bed as possible. Asked the staff about this but their explanation was “it’s an old building” - yet hotels all over the world, not just expensive ones, have retro-fitted their electrics and sockets elegantly for decades (e.g. sockets on desk-tops, USBs in bedside drawers). I only had a phone and iPad to charge but if I was on a b

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with an interesting history and satisfying amenities. The central location put us within a 30 minute walk of nearly every point of interest on our first visit to Budapest; situated midway between City Park and Buda Castle. Tons of great cafes and restaurants nearby so we did not find ourselves eating at the resaurants on-site, though they looked impressive and reasonably priced. The spa is also worth a visit - though it is somewhat small relative to the amount of guests present at peak hours. The spa amenities themselves were not overly crowded but the lounging areas were often completely filled, leaving no space to leave your robes. I'd like to see a solution implented to solve this issue. My only other complaint was the temperature of the room during our mid-November stay. The heat

Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast include freshly mad Omlette etc., Choice was excellent.
