I would not recommend this hotel, especially for families.

During check-in, the receptionist made uncomfortable comments about religion and politics. He told me he was Muslim and that we were “brothers,” then began criticizing the U.S. president. This was inappropriate and made us feel uneasy.

Later, someone from the hotel brought water and soda to the room. While standing at the door, he repeatedly looked inside the room in a way that made my wife and children uncomfortable. Because of this, we did not feel safe.

The room conditions were also poor. There was a strong unpleasant smell in the room and the refrigerator smelled bad as well. The bathroom had no hooks or places to hang towels or clothes, which is a basic necessity.

Overall, we did not feel comfortable staying there. I could not sleep that night, and we decided to leave and find another hotel.

Honestly I should have known from how rude the bald receptionist was when I entered of how the stay was going to pan out.
The whole reception looked so run down I thought I was at an abandoned location…..
The room was extremely basic and unkept. The walls were stained and tiles were falling off. If you are slightly larger / taller than average good luck fitting on the bed.
There was no kettle and the curtains were as thin as tissue.
I thought all inclusive breakfast would be a redeeming factor ….. I was wrong. Three options - sausages, cold scrambled egg and toast. I never want to see an egg again in my life.
The cleaners were polite and the location was ideal being 30 seconds from the tram. So if you won’t eat, sleep or rest in your hotel room this will be perfect.

It was a nice hotel. Bed was comfortable. It was good that they had AC in room which is very good in hot days. Unfortunately, breakfast was not good. There are just few options to eat. Honey, chocolate, cheese, butter, fruit, vegetables were missing. I would not pay any money for that breakfast. Thanks!

We moved from this hotel after 1 night,we only stayed the 1 night as it took time to re-book somewhere else.
The \"hotel\" gave more the impression of a shabby hostel.
The room we were allocated(std.double)well!
The most generous thing I can say is that it looked clean,things went downhill from there..,
Badly worn floors,jammed(open)window shutter covered with a bit of tatty net curtain.Used a towel as a blind overnight.
There appeared to be mouldy areas around edges of room,the walls were covered in what appeared to be a thin felt/carpet material.
The bathroom was okish,cracked shower base,oh,and ants..
Two bedside lamps but no sockets near bed area,used one balanced on the radiator!
Breakfast was not bad,probably best part of stay.
We had been offered another room,very similar in style,but by then we just wanted out.
Once we had found and booked a new hotel,well.
The sense of relief we felt entering the room in our new hotel was immense and so different to how we felt going into the Silver hotel room.
We are in an ongoing situation to get a refund for the nights not stayed

Excellent hotel. About a 90 second walk to a Metro M1 station. Clean, warm and decent sized rooms, along with pleasant staff who can speak very good English. WiFi speed around 30mbps (download and upload), so good for streaming or general browsing. Will stay here again when I’m next in Budapest.

Convenient location, just off Andrássy út and a few minutes’ walk from the Terror House. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very basic, but there was enough to choose from, and it was included in the room rate. Overall, very reasonable for the price. Would stay again.

The hotel layout was unique very old style. The room me and my friend stayed in very old , run down , dull , and even had ants in the bathroom floor too.

TV was like a tv that was around before i was even born! Very Old and very fuzzy..

Lifts in hotel didnt all work.

Breakfast was basic no fruit or veg options

The staircase lights in the hotel didnt work half way down the staircase and some floors didnt even have lights so was pitch black at night.

Only gave 1 glass in our room and didnt change the towels everyday either.

Room door was very old and handle was hanging off.

The toilet in reception was barely safe! The button to flush it was hanging off the wall!

No safe in room

The few good things about this hotel are..

Location was great by the metro

Bed was ok

But if im honest me or my friends wont be staying here again.

The bathroom smelled extremely bad. We had informed the staff and asked to change the room. They said it is smell of the cleaning liquids and will go away if we keep the doors open.There were some flies in the room everywhere. Terrible!!!!!!!!

Most staff at the front desk were unfriendly. The only way to get the room to a bearable temperature was to leave the air con unit on all night, which was so loud it was difficult to sleep. There was only 1 free plug socket in the room. The shower doors didn't close fully and the basin didn't drain quickly enough. The toilet seat kept coming off and we had to ask for more toilet roll twice.
The breakfast was quite good and the rooms were cleaned daily, but that's about all the positives there are.

Likely better in cooler weather.

Sadly the air conditioning unit did not work for long, it went from cold to hot every few minutes. I saw a cockroach in the bathroom and the toilet leaked when it flushed.

The breakfast and the staff were very good! I have never been to the city so I don't know if this is usual.

I have stayed 3 nights in this hotel and I can’t explain what a bad experience I had
No respect for customer
No looking after customers
No good breakfast
No room service
I was sitting in the lounge waiting area and talking on the phone the receptionist came to me front of other people and stat abuse language and says go out said and use phone otherwise I will cancel your booking and shouting on me I told him you’re doing wrong there is camera but he says I don’t care.

28/05/2024 at 21:30 to 21:50 I mentioned him I will complain about you but he didn’t care.

And today I was just about to check out at 11 am and bit late 10 minutes the hotel staff open the out without care my privacy and says hurry up check out
I am travelling around the world but never seen this kind of bad behaviour

The only issues we had during our stay was the shower drain did not work properly and we had to turn the water off and on while we were showering and the light bulb in the bathroom kept flickering on and off. The staff were very accommodating when we asked for an extra chair. The location was terrific being within walking distance of the Oktagon and across the street from a small park and a great market. And the price was very good.

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel during my trip to Budapest. The location is a few mints from the metro. Breakfast was good (eggs, hot dogs, juices, breads, jams, cereals). Staff was extremely helpful. All the major attracrions were a few metro stops aways. Many restaurants in the neighbourhood to choose from.

This is a very basic property. It appears to be a series of mini apartments amongst other people living in the building. The big red flag is the numerous messages that they are not responsible for items in the room. It’s at the front counter and in the rooms. It’s like they need to call it as it happens. The positive is the location is very good. 1 minute to the M1 line

Should’ve picked a different hotel

So when you arrive, a grumpy man greets you at the reception, then make sure you pay attention to how you lock the doors!! I get to my room and see my room number is cut out from cheap paper and taped to my door. It looks like people live in this building. Probably floors 2-5 are residential. I didn’t pay attention to the door locking symposium and I didn’t lock mine right and some random guy just opened my room door while I was in a state of undress! Who just goes around opening doors??? The AC spits out cold air, but the exhaust hose is broken so all of the hot air it produces comes out the back and heats the room up. The shower doesn’t drain well and floods the bathroom, hence the warped flooring outside the bathroom right by the door. The breakfast looks like it was made by a stoned 10 year old (hot dogs for breakfast??). The good thing about it is that it’s close to a metro station.

Worst hotel I’ve ever been in. Many things in the room were broken. And the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. I had to use towels to clean up and then they stopped providing an additional towel so I had to walk around in water. I tried to bring a friend with me into my room and they yelled at me about it and tried to charge extra. The floor was sooooo dirty. Many latches, knobs, or hinges were broken or not functional.

Silver hotel is a hotel that I frequent since 2015. First of all, the location is pretty central. Second, I always find the staff from the hotel and especially from the reception pretty sympathic and I like the room in a typic hungarian building. The breakfast is a huge plus and the view from the breakfast is amazing. A super hotel for having some enjoyable times in Budapest

The building was interesting and typically Hungarian. Our room was basic but clean and sufficient for our purposes. A kettle would have been a good inclusion but as we were next to the restaurant it wasn't too difficult to get our first thing in the morning coffee. Breakfast also very basic and would become a bit boring if we were there for longer than a few days. Otherwise all ok.

This hotel is the top three floors of an apartment building that from the street opens to a large courtyard and has two elevators. The rooms are simple, but clean. There is a safe in the room and a TV with Hungarian stations. The rooms are all different in size and bed configuration, so MY room will not be like YOUR room. Mine had an entryway and bathroom and then a bedroom. The bath had a new shower with good temperature and water pressure. The was liquid soap by the sink but no shampoo or bar soap in the shower, so bring your own. The bed was a little hard, and had the European large flat pillow and a duvet. The windows opened to the courtyard. There was a desk and two \"desk\" chairs in my room. The internet was free and had a strong signal.

This hotel is literally 1/2 block from the Liszt Museum and is across the street from a park that has a farmer's market on Saturday morning.

The breakfast was the same both mornings. There were hot dogs and scrambled eggs, cold cuts and cheese, bread (with toaster), cereal, pastries, and coffee, orange and maybe mango juice, and milk.

The service and check in was wonderful from the guy who worked during the day and on the first night. The Saturday guy wasn't as pleasant or helpful...and he made those checking in to wait until exactly 2:00 to check in. Two days before, I arrived a little early and the nice guy went ahead and checked me in as the room was ready. I used the luggage storage room.

I would stay here again.

It was unclean and the room was super warm. However, the air conditioning machine had a fire warning sign on it and we didn’t want to take the risk. The lock on the door didn’t work. It was super loud and you could hear everything through the walls. Did not stay the night and found a different hotel.

This hotel is extremely basic. During our stay we didn’t get A decent nights sleep. The room was incredibly hot and stuffy you couldn’t breath even with the window wide open. The room felt unclean. The shower doors didn’t shut properly meaning the bathroom became a pool. The radiator dripped water and no one came to clean/change our room at any point during the 4 day stay.

Hotel is a cool building in a nice neighborhood. Very close to a metro station. The room was fine. Could use a little maintenance but i wasn't bothered by anything. Breakfast could of had a bit more variety, but it was decent enough. The front office and the breakfast/cleaning ladies were all nice.

The rooms themselves are basic. You get what you pay for. They aren’t very clean. The shower needed a new head, 2 of our lights didn’t work and there were spiders in the corners of the rooms where no one had dusted properly. The breakfast was awful. No fruit available, and the rest was stale. We chose not to eat anything there on days 2 and 3 but just drink the tea.

However, it’s close to everything! A 5 minute walk to the restaurants and a 25 minute walk to the river. The Metro station is just outside and takes you straight to all of the places you need for next to nothing.

The young man at the reception desk of the hotel was fantastic. He was patient and gave us all of the information that we needed.

Budget hotel, 2 stars at best. Close to Metro and a reasonable 30 mins walk to the Centre / River. Lots of bars/ restaurants in the area. Small basic rooms, no thrills. Good breakfast to start the day - If you just want a bed and bathroom and are on a budget then this hotel can meet your needs. Some work needs to be done on the rooms but we were ok with our stay. Staff friendly and helpful.

We stayed for a long weekend. Contrary to some reviews we’d read our room, on the top floor, was clean and functional. No bugs, plenty of hot water, a working window shutter and no sewage smell, you get what you pay for. It’s not luxurious by any stretch but if all you want is a bed & shower then this hotel is ideal as it’s only a 15 minute walk to the busy parts of the city. The reception staff are helpful and friendly and we were allowed to leave our cases in a secure room until our late afternoon taxi to the airport.

We had to be in Budapest on a very busy weekend with very few available options for accommodation- booked a regular room at this place at $80 per night. Pretty disappointed after we've stayed there.. The beds were OK but the rest was not so great (cracked mirrors, questionable/broken fixtures, nobody obeys the non-smoking signs so we wake up with our room being filled with cigarette smoke etc). Breakfast was 2 out of 10. The location is pretty though- right by the Oktagon.

All in all wouldn't recommend to stay here- the owners should bring it up to a decent standard. We would never stay there again!

this hotel is 2 minute walk from the underground its a nice area restaurant close by. the only bad thing about the hotel was the elevator it was very small could only hold 3 people at a time there was a good wait at points of the day, a new lift is being installed now this should solve the problem , as their is a lot of stairs if walked to the top floor

The building had the aura of a prison.
The neighbours made noise all day and night but that was ok because the air con was so loud it drowned them out.
The shower flooded when used and the toilet seat was broken.

This is clearly the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. The shower door kept falling off. The bathroom sink blocked up. There was only one curtain in the room, which had two windows. And that one only covered half the window. The decor was awful. And the bathroom had a smell of raw sewage. The only saving grace was the location.

Do NOT stay here. Holes in the sheets. No daily clranimh lol. They literally folded our towels we had used back up and put them on our bed! They were even still damp. Went down for fresh towels wanted 10 euro. TV never worked. Internet never worked. The people who said it was a basic clean room must have a loose definition of clean. Unsafe neighborhood and the metro u take to the city centre is shady!!!!

Friendly staff, room ok, duvet very thin and not big enough. No tea/coffee, shower gels etc in room. 1 towel each that are not changed daily. We had to ask for clean towel. Breakfast is terrible. We went on the 1st day and didn't go again. Good location close to everything and also metro at the end of the street. You get what you pay for.

The hotel is really nice decor
Fridge did not work
Hair dryer did not work and the guy on reception was quite rude and confusing when it came to paying our tourist tax. He didn’t help us understand properlybeing brits etc

My room was clean and comfortable, breakfast great, hotel perfectly situated for the Metro, bus, and river. Staff lovely.
Walls are paper thin (or Italians just shout all the time when having a normal conversation) so pack some earplugs.
Nevertheless, I would stay there again.

This is a nice hotel. Reception staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and had everything you would need. Breakfast that’s included is not bad, eggs sausages and pastries. The hotel is very central and close to restaurants and shops plus many tourists attractions.

Good if you just need a quiet place to sleep.

Its fine if you just need a place to sleep a day or two. But if you want to stay in Budapest for longer, Its not the place. The beds are hard, the breakfast is okay, but not good. The service is okay, if you don’t need a lot. The location is good. Its in close to a station, that can bring you around the city in no time.

A fun hotel for people who choose to pay a little

It is close to a metro station and very close to Oktogon Square. A quiet and safe neighborhood from which you can reach anywhere.
The hotel staff is courteous and ready to assist in anything.
