I stayed in the studio apartment a few doors down from the main hotel. It was spacious, clean and well equipped though I didn’t need to use the cooking facilities. The front of the apartment does look a little run down compared to the main hotel, but I’m guessing that’s because the building is used by different groups, not just Bo33. Thé staff were extremely friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed my stay. It’s a fairly quiet area but only 10 minutes walk from the metro station and there’s a tram on the next street but I didn’t ventured onto that. It was a great base and, as a single female traveller, I felt safe. Some may feel a bit wary of the quietness of the street and that’s it’s 10 minutes away from the main roads but I had no problems. I’d stay again.

Nice hotel in a quiet area but within walkable distance to all the tourist spots. Room was of a nice size - carpet could do with a good clean (brown probably not a good choice!). However, sound proofing not fantastic - I could hear the neighbouring room and people coming back late at night talking in the corridors - not somewhere for sensitive sleepers

The road outside and some surrounding roads were being re-done so it was very sandy and dusty. Our taxi still managed to drop us right outside though. Great staff, delicious breakfast, fab rooms and good amenities. Nothing was too much trouble. The chocolate fountain at breakfast was definitely a hit! Would return to this hotel if we visit Budapest again!

Very nice and modern hotel. Spa on covered rooftop, good enough. A bit isolated for restaurants. Helpful staff. Room and bathroom wide. Comfortable bed (better if one duvet instead of two single ones). Bathroom had the shower applyance broken. Super breakfast (pieced food was missed). What beats me is why such a nice hotel charges you for slippers and a robe to use their spa?

At the time of checking , man was not polite or helpful at all, not treated us with curtesy. This was a wonderful place to stay! I arrived early and the front desk staff got me into a room immediately. They were super helpful with everything from a phone charger adapter to booking tours. The breakfast was fantastic. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was an easy walk to the city park, bars, and even parliament. I highly recommend staying here!

We stayed in a unit next door to the main hotel which meant for the week we felt like we were coming home to our own apartment and not a hotel. The unit was spacious with a balcony, fully equiped kitchen and lounge area. On a quiet street only minutes from the bus and a short walk to the train and trams. We loved our stay and do not hesitate to recommend.

This was my fourth stay in BO33 hotel. Hands down this is the best place I’ve stayed at in Budapest. Professional and friendly English-speaking reception stuff. Quite hotel and good quality windows in units for a peaceful night sleep. Truly non-smoking place, no scent of cigarettes and no air fresheners in units. Also parking garage makes this hotel a winner when traveling by car. Highly recommend this place.

Property is very clean and room looks modern. Main problem is some of rooms are not air-conditioned but listed as having air conditioning on the website. It was hot during my stay and I told the front desk right after I check in that the room was too hot. The front desk sent a person who told me tourist always complained about the hot weather and tried to adjusted the control. After 2 nights of enduring the heat and bad sleep, I went to front desk again. The room was actually hotter than outside at night, 24-25 degs C. You cannot open the windows. I was told by this person that my room does not have air-conditioning although it had some sort cooling system. They have installed air-conditioners in some rooms but not our room. He arranged to have us move to an air-conditioned room the following day. I told him we had an all-day tour the following day and would not be able to move at the time that he suggested. He told us to pack our suitcases and they would move them to the new room. When we came back from the tour and tried to pick up the key to our new room, we were scolded by a different front desk person for not available earlier in the day to move to the new and obvious all our stuffs were in our old room. The hotel is nice but the experience left us with a bad taste. Also, the hotel is bit of a walk from metro and there are not many restaurants close by.

Great hotel, meh location

Friendly hotel with clean facilities and comfortable rooms, however many speak of the location. In my opinion from travelling BO33 is beautiful and great hotel however is too far from the central sightseeing locations. For the difference in rate I now in hindsight would have stayed in city centre. The area around the hotel, though we had no problems, seems a bit grungy. The streets are not well lit, and there are some homeless on the streets nearby. Again we had no issue but we didn’t feel that sense of security we are used to in other cities.

If you want a reasonable price hotel with great staff then BO33 is great, just be prepared to walk approx 30 minutes to get close to most of the sites. Seems short on first thought but by the end of the day you are exhausted.

To the hotel :
Thank you for your hospitality, welcome drinks and good breakfast. I’d only recommend perhaps giving your guests the little bar of soaps, the pump style soap in the bathroom for both hair and shampoo do not reflect a 4 star hotel in my opinion.

Great Service Team with Good Location

Bo33 has an excellent team of service crews and the ability to communicate in English is a plus. Check-in was a breeze and the staff provided good advice on the places of interests, exchange rate, budapest cards... Offered welcome drinks and their breakfast was great for the entire stay with some changes in the buffet spread. Night cruise is highly recommended and you can book it with the hotel. Location is good, near to the train station. There is a New Yoke cafe near the hotel which is a must go. Overall, the stay at the hotel is fantastic.

The room was big but smell from washroom if you close the door. If you leave it open, it wasn't noticeable. The ventalation system not the best for the washroom. I think the toilet drainage connects to the shower drainage. When you flush, you hear it passing thru the shower. Maybe thats the system over there. Other wise it was ok.

Welcoming staff who make you feel 'looked after'. Excellent facilities, fantastic range for breakfast including champagne and chocolate fountain. Deals well with Coeliacs. Fresh coffee and mini croissants available in reception free to guests 24 hours a day. The VIP apartment with sauna and hot tub was completely wonderful.

What I liked the most is breakfast and location
Room after upgrade was nice , the standard one is very average. Perks in the room like bathrobes and tea coffee facilities are nice. Front office staff is helpful but not proactive.
Have in mind that parking in hotel is 15 Euro per day and If you park in the street outside is 15 Euro per day fine (but If you know that there is a blue box someplace round the corner where you pay daily ticket is less)
Overall experience is good and would recommend to friends and family.
May be in spring is better :)

Passable hotel in a not-so-desirable neighborhood.

1st problem came when I arrived for a 2.5-week stay 2 days later than my reservation, which was fully paid in advance. I had notified them in advance by e-mail and phone that I would be 2 days late. On arrival at ~10 a.m., I was told the hotel was full but my room not ready; they offered me \"free breakfast\"; of course, I had paid for the preceding 2 days' breakfasts. After breakfast, 1/2 hour later, the room was still not ready. I asked for a manager, who took only 5-10 minutes to arrive; during that interval, the reception desk person claimed the delay was due to preparing a room for me \"better than the room I had reserved, since my stay was to be so long.\"

I would have believed that if he had told me so on arrival or on checking back after breakfast. That magical information was delivered only 2-4 minutes after I asked for a manager. Simply put, he was lying.

They rented out my room once they had learned that I was to be two days late. Aside from being improper, it is illegal in Hungary (and many other places) for the hotel to accept rent on the same room for the same night from two sources.

2nd problem is noise. The doors close hard and fast; most people let them self-shut. The door locks, etc., are VERY heavy steel, so they make a HUGE noise. So, 6-9 a.m., count on hearing dozens of doors shut as folks go to breakfast, return, and then check out. Likewise, repeated LOUD banging (walls shaking!) 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. as folks go out for the evening and return.

A lovely hotel with easy access to the city.

I booked the hotel for myself and two teenager daughters, partly because of the spa facilities which I thought they would enjoy. The hotel is run by extremely helpful staff and the environment is friendly and welcoming. The rooms were good sizes and clean and comfortable. The breakfast was extremely good with a lovely selection of food on offer. There is a small bar for the evening but no food unless you opt for room service.
The spa facilities are up on the top floor with a lovely terrace. The other facilities are a very small weights room, sauna and jacuzzi. I also booked a massage which took place up there and was very good.
The hotel is in the Jewish quarter and we found it easy to walk to most places, in fact we didn't use any public transport or taxis apart from our transfers to and from the airport.
Budapest is a beautiful city and this hotel was a lovely place from which to explore it.

A wonderful hotel. Recommended.

We've recently returned from a wonderful 6 night stay at the Bo33 hotel. We were lucky enough to get our room upgraded when we got there, but no doubt the rest of the regular rooms were great too as the hotel was immaculate. It was nice and quiet in the evening with very little traffic noise. We all slept really well.

Staff were so helpful and patient the whole time we were there, giving us advice about the sights we wanted to see and even gave us recommendations of their favourite restaurants.

The hotel is located a few streets/blocks outside the Jewish quarter. A 5-10 minute walk to get to various transport options.

Breakfast was varied and decadent (free bubbly and chocolate fountain). All in all would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Budapest, and as my 7 year old said to them when checking out 'You should definitely change the sign from a 4 star to a 5 star!'

Not so good. The hotel is 30 min walk from the river or a 5 euro taxi. The room we checked into was not clean - a dirty sanitary bag and a toenail were found. So they moved us to another room which was even smaller and didn't have a bath (in the UK a 4* hotel must have a bath). The hair dryer didn't work and the hotel couldn't provide us with another although they offered to move us again but as we were only there two nights we really couldn't be bothered with the hassle. The staff were friendly but should have been more helpful. Breakfast was okay. Room facilities were mediocre at best.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. All-new built, modern, well-appointed little hotel. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The room was a bit on the small side but well designed, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was very good. Location is great if you want to be slightly off the hustle and bustle but still within close walking distance to just about everywhere in Budapest. We walked, practically everywhere. Good cafes, restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk.
If I were forced to point at cons, -- a few of the small details are not what you'd expect of a 4-star - e.g. towels were just okay, stuff like that. But these are really small nits.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel. I think we'll be coming back.

A really nice hotel - convenient to transport

This hotel is two blocks from the #4 and #6 tram line which makes all of Budapest's many attractions within easy reach. Our room was spacious with a balcony looking out over rooftops. Breakfast buffet was superb - many choices of cooked and cold fare. A well-appreciated touch was the unsolicited boxed breakfast given to us on our early departure to the airport!

A warm welcome and excellent facilities

We had 4 nights at this well appointed small/medium sized hotel in Budapest.
Staff were extremely welcoming when we arrived, having organised and efficient and reasonably priced taxi to collect us from the airport.
A detailed information pack on the city was provided and staff were always ready with practical information and suggestions.
Breakfast is excellent, with a very good selection of hot and cold food, including really good quality fruit - rare in hotels in my experience.
The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk to the nearest metro line and approx. 15 minutes walk to two others. It is 12-15 minutes walk to two areas with good restaurants and bars. So, whilst the actual location of the hotel is quiet, it is within easy reach of anything a traveller would want.
We did not use the gym and spa area, but it is available.
The bedrooms were comfortable. We chose a deluxe room with a balcony, which was really great, given that we arrived in a heatwave. The rooms are well appointed, with an excellent bathroom and a good sized safe..

Superb Hotel

We stayed here while at the Hungrian Grand Prix.
From the moment we arrived i cannot fault anything withe Hotel at all.
From the very friendly and helpful staff to the spotless, modern and very comfortable rooms the superb continental breakfast.
I would highly recomend this Hotel and will be staying here on my next visit to Budapest.

Great hotel but a bit out of the way

The hotel was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the rooms very comfortable.
the hotel is about 20 minutes walk from most of the tourist attractions but is only about 10 minutes away from the metro, and 5 minutes from the buses.
The New York Cafe is just around the corner and is absolutely stunning inside.

Nice, quiet hotel - easy distance to sights

We had a good stay at Bo33. The room was spacious and clean, and generally well-appointed (although the mirror stuck to the bathroom door with sticky pads was a bit of a hazard - the weight of the mirror caused it to fall down, which gave us a shock as we were just getting ready to go out for the evening when it happened. Luckily it didn't fall on either of us, and staff were quick to clear up when we told them what happened. It would make more sense to secure the mirror to the door using screws though!) Staff were friendly and helpful - we booked a wine tasting cruise through reception which worked very smoothly. The hotel was quiet and room seemed fairly well sound-proofed. Breakfast buffet had great variety and was delicious, too. Location-wise, the hotel is slightly out of the city centre but it's an easy walk to the Jewish quarter and there's a tram stop 5 mins walk away and a metro 10 mins walk, so everything is quick to access. Overall, we'd highly recommend the hotel.

Excellent and personal service from the staff. We stayed there for three nights and there was just the right degree of politeness and wamth. Really lovely people. I'm not usually impressed!

We enjoyed our buffet breakfast which had more sweet variety than most others I've experienced. It was my partner's birthday and we were offered cake and champagne for breakfast! Lovely touch.

The bathroom has a hairdryer large shower and larger than usual bottles of toileteries. We hadn't needed to bring our own. Borrowed an iron and ironing board from reception.

We stayed in an executive suite with kitchen, coffee maker, kettle and fridge. If you're British and like tea, the tea bags available are Earl Grey, so bring your own if that's not to your taste. I don't know if there are fridges in the other rooms.

Next time we're in Budapest we will definitely want to book here.

What a little gem!

Stayed here for three nights with a friend, and we were very impressed. The hotel is funky, smart and modern, and very well presented. Facilities were excellent, even a Nespresso machine in the room! The staff spoke reasonable English and were very helpful indeed. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom. My only criticism of the bathroom is the fact that the shower is very powerful, and it's an open \"wet room\" style shower, so the floor gets soaked! We had to position a rolled up towel at the edge of the shower screen to stop the water flooding the whole room. We had a free welcome drink of champagne, and WiFi was free, although not very fast. Breakfast was amazing - just about every kind of breakfast item you could imagine, including a chocolate fountain, and more champagne! Location wise, it was very good - if I wanted to nit-pick I'd say it's a teeny bit further out from the very centre of things than some of the other hotels, but there are trams and buses that run very close, so you can easily get about. The spa on the roof was a little disappointing - the steam room was great, but the sauna wasn't very warm, and the jacuzzi didn't seem to do any more than bubble gently in one corner. Having said that, Budapest has several amazing spa baths, so you don't really need one on the roof!

I would definitely visit this hotel again, it was incredible value for money - anything that funky in London would be three or four times the price!
