I can see why so many reviews say that this is the place they would stay again if they return to Budapest. There were some non-major issues: hard to find the front door the first time; why no coffee or tea WITH the kettle? But once there, my room was comfortable with no frills, just like I prefer. Staff is truly friendly and helpful. Very centrally located (Budapest has one of the best transit systems of any European city), and attractively priced. Yep, I’d stay there again.

I was unable to arrive at the guesthouse due to the war situation — the airspace was closed and my flight was canceled.

I contacted the management in advance and asked to postpone my stay. The booking had been fully paid months ahead, but unfortunately, they refused any flexibility or accommodation.

In the short term, they kept the payment. In the long term, they have lost a returning guest — and potentially others who value fair and understanding service.

I’ve visited Budapest many times, and there are plenty of places that treat guests with more consideration and flexibility. I recommend future travelers take this into account and choose carefully.

The Staff were very nice however the Room left a lot to be desired, the picture of Omega Guesthouse implies that the Rooms are around an internal courtyard whereas my Room Hi3 was facing the Main Road & Junction the Glazing was inadequate to cut out enough of the Tram/Emergency Vehicles,Buses & Cars ( stopped at lights) with loud Bass Music, the Room itself was fine ( cleaner could do better) apart from overly Firm Mattress & the Aircon Heating being set to one Temperature ( Day & Night) because the rooms are not given their own control.

The room I've been assigned was very clean. In addition to this, daily housekeeping was granted to mantain order and provide toilet paper. Finally the air conditioning was spot on, in the sense that wasn't excessively warming up the area.

The guest house was great value for money. It is perfect as a base to explore the city and is excellent value for money.
If you're looking for luxury, it isn't for you but if you need a clean room with nice staff and and a great location, it is spot on. Other people comment on the smell aroubd the hotel and yes, outsid of the rooms you could smelm fast food but you could bot smell it at all whe in your room so please don't be out off by that. I would 100% stay here again to use as a base but use some common sense when you see the price compared to other properties; you are not paying for luxury.

Reception staff were nice. Hairdryer in the room and they always gave us fresh towels and toilet paper. The room was clean.

Very few amenities in the room - TV is quite old doubt it works, no tea or coffee pods and just one hand wash soap (no body gel). Wifi does not reach the room and it's not soundproofed. The breakfast is not expensive but it's not worth it. We paid a lot for the room and it is definitely not worth all that. It is good for travelers who do not stay in the room so much while traveling.

They gave us a free bottle of champagne on new years, very nice gesture

I slept with my windows open every night and it was quiet and I felt very safe! The Lidl right by the front door was amazing for access to quick supplies as well as easy access to public transport right outside the front door!! Overall amazing service and amazing location!

This is a great option for a budget stay to explore Budapest. It has great links for public transport to help get around the city and is about 30 mins from the airport. It is a “get what you pay for” stay - so have realistic expectations!

The position of the building right next to central metro station is good but equally the adjacent trams make travel really easy. The building is old and tired (viz the lift) but the room was spacious and bathroom ok. Hot water excellent. The breakfast and washing services are reasonable value and staff accessible. And a cheap kebab guy is downstairs next to a convenient supermarket.

Overall, we had a great stay at Omega Guesthouse. The front-desk staff were very friendly, and the location was perfect - right next to a metro and tram stop as well as a Lidl, in the city centre, so it was easy to get around. The bedroom, bathroom, and shared kitchen were clean. It was also nice and quiet, except for people coming through the main door into the kitchen area (which we were next to, so could have been just our room). We paid for the AC, which was 2 euros a night (approximately), which DID work well, so worth paying for.

We did have a couple of issues during our stay. One, there was only one curtain on the curtain rail, not two, so we couldn't block out the whole window, and since we were on the ground floor looking into the communal space, it meant people could see into the room if they wanted to. Secondly, there was a bit of an insect problem, with mosquitoes in the room (although there's not much they could do about that I guess), and we came back one night to quite a few roaches or beetles (it was dark so couldn't quite see) in the communal courtyard. They did have exterminators around one of the days (for which we weren't given any forewarning until they were at our door).

Overall, for the price, it was a great place to stay for the location alone. Plus, despite the minor issues, overall we found it to be very clean and comfortable. We would come back to stay (but maybe ask for a different room). Thanks for a great stay!

The entrance is actually very humble and almost hidden. They have elevator but there are still some steps between the floor and the elevator. Before check in time, they allow you to put your luggage in the locked dining room, which later became unlocked and unattended. The room is clean. The curtain couldn’t be closed.

Stayed here with my mum, had no trouble booking a twin room. Fairly comfortable and very clean. Fully functioning shower. Towels and hand soap provided. No body wash etc but they do provide a hair dryer. Lovely room with comfortable pillow.

Had a little trouble finding the entrance but the street number is clearly marked on the entrance. It’s right next to Lidl. Lovely coffee shop called Frei Cafe (think it’s a chain) just round the corner.

We came past midnight, they already knew beforehand. The staff that night said we changed our reservation for the following day and had no beds available, and just a flat “IM SORRY” then attended to the next client. When I showed her my email, it came to her mind that she had another room in another branch, told us we can walk. We are not about to walk at that time with our luggages in a foreign country so we had to Uber. The following morning while returning our keys, the manager was so apologetic of how we were handled and that there was actually a bed for us that night but the damage was already done.

This property is in an excellent location for the bus, tram and metro. There's a Lidl below so great to pick up bits for sandwiches, drinks (they have a fridge, freezer in the communal area and a kettle in the room). Excellent value for money and incredibly helpful staff. I took one star off for the stairs leading to the building. If you want a 4* hotel this isn't it, if you want a good value base for easy access to Budapest then this is for you. Our room looked on to the street and we loved the hussle and bussle, others may not like that.

Great location. But please update your bedding.

Location was fantastic. It's near major transit lines and easy to go back and forth during the day.

The building is old but is secure enough. There are some homeless people near the subway entrance, but they don't bother you. You will have to adjust your expectations as this is a very budget place, and they keep it clean as best as they can.

But the bedding set could use some updates. The blankets and pillows were clean, but you can tell it was very old. Not sure if they had better ones. I'm alright with simple rooms, but the stay would have been better if the bed set was better.

Well organised, separated guesthouse. The room was excellent. Except the dirty mattress and cover sheets.

I think somebody was pee on it.

The street view was terrible, including the smell from the nearest gyros shop and the green rubish been behind the gate. Extremely stinks!

I think they already heard the same opinion , am not the only one who mentioned.

The reception staff are very lovely and helpful. The property is in an amazing location above a Lidl with a Metro line underneath (New York Cafe around the corner). What’s not to like. If you’d like additional amenities staff are more than happy to provide. If you’re looking for practical there’s not many other options that’ll beat it at this price.

The Omega Guesthouse is in a great location at a busy intersection in Budapest located directly above a Lidl (perfect for cheap pastries..).

It took me a while to find it, but just look for the big gates near the Lidl entrance and press button 4.

The building and facilities are good and rooms come with everything you need including a kettle and TV, and there are kitchen facilities outside of the room available too.

Staff were friendly and helpful and for the money this is a great option when staying in Budapest.

Location is superb, walkable from train station (12mins) and just 1 min to metro station. Supermarket Lidl is just downstairs.
Bus and tram station is just in front of the main door.

Shower is strong and water is hot. Feel safe to stay. Easy to get to everywhere. Staff are very nice and helpful. Will definitely stay here again. :)

The guesthouse is right next to a metro station as well as a supermarket, which makes the location very convenient. Entering the room is slightly cumbersome (three sets of keys plus two entry doors at the ground floor which are not very pleasant) but one can get used to it, and it adds to security. The wi-fi connection worked, though it was not strong enough for video calls for most of the time I checked. Cleaning was rather basic, but better than no cleaning service at all. The few interactions with the staff were cordial and effective (including them having accommodated my advance late check-in request). Overall, I recommend it especially for shorter stays of a few days for those looking for affordable accommodation in a central location.

The best location, literally next to public transport. However in exchange, it was incredibly noisy at night with bright lights coming in from the street! Good thing I brought eye mask and ear plugs! The pillow and mattress were not comfortable for me. Very basic room but I liked having the small kitchen to use.

The guesthouse itself is a nice property. It is very conveniently located near transit, restaurants, shopping and a Lidl. The room is a good size I was travelling solo and found it to be just right. nothing special just a basic room. The receptionists are very nice. you do have a bunch of keys to go in and out of the property which can seem like an inconvenience but I didn't mind. on my floor there was a full size kitchen for guests to use with a dining area. The only issue I had which is no fault of the guesthouse, but you can barely sleep at night due to the loud sirens of emergency vehicles. It is the loudest I have ever experienced and its consistent all day and night. I barely got any sleep even with a pack of earplugs I had luckily packed. For the price of the stay and the guesthouse itself without the external factors I would say It was worth the stay.

Very basic accommodation. Located on a busy street, but the rooms are far back from the noise. Some noise from other guests and staff early in the morning which was loud as the courtyard-style building serves as an echo chamber. Worse, though, was an awful smell from the shower drain. I had to close the door and run the fan into the night. This on top of an awful food smell entering the building from a downstairs eatery of some kind and a terrible musty odor in the building lobby. Towels were small and thin, same with the pillow and duvet. On the plus side, the room included a kettle, fridge, microwave and basic utensils. The hotel is a little hard to find, located about halfway between Keleti station and the historic hub. Good walks either direction. Supermarket located below. Area is not that great, but OK.

If Wi-Fi connection is very important to you, do not stay here, the internet is so slow you would not be able to do any work online. You’ll also have to pay extra to use their AC which felt like a “hidden fee” and I don’t like shady practices like that. The location is great though. It’s right next to the metro so it’s very convenient to get around and the rate per night is cheap.

We had trouble checking in as pressing the call button for Omega just rang out several times. By chance another guest turned up and let us in. We arrived at 10pm and we leaving again at 4am so we weren’t expecting much. We did wonder what we’d come to at first but once through the door and up the stairs we relaxed as it was just as expected. Basic but chilled and great value for money

First of all everything was okay including the price. We wanted a few hours stay before heading to the airport early in the morning. Unfortunately, when we arrived at our room, the air conditioner remote was not there so i had to ask the receptionist. Mind you it was 36 degree. They then told me the air conditioner wasnt working and the maintenance is coming the next day. Honestly, i would not be mad if they told me beforehand and the booking website stated there is an aircond in our room. i was putting some expectations there. They didnt even give me any compensation at all.
