The staff was very kind and helpful, they responded to our requests quickly (request for an extra towel, etc.). Isabella explained everything we needed to know about the stay and the hotel. Even when I asked for help with certain places/getting around, she helped willingly and always with a smile. The breakfast was varied and also accommodated our dietary restrictions. The room and linens were clean and almost at all hours of the day we saw someone cleaning the entrance area to the hotel.

The room was very hot considering it was October and we couldn't adjust the temperature. It was nice to have a kitchenette but no toaster. There was some liquid in the shower but unidentified so not sure if it was shampoo or soap. Walls are thin, we could hear people walking and slamming doors in other rooms. The road leading to the hotel seemed unsafe at night, the road is dark. Walkable to most public transportation. Bed was very comfortable and big, room very spacious, nice view of the courtyard.

My family absolutely enjoyed staying at Cuty Home Budapest. The staff was friendly and helpful, whatever request or demand we had.
The room we stayed at was spacious and bright, while the whole decor was modern and stylish, and apparently recently renovated.
The location is fantastic, it is close to the inner city (St Stephen's Basilica and Opera are within walking distance) and plenty if public transport options (trams, metro stops). Heroes Square, City Park and Thermal Baths Spa are within easy reach too.
This hotel will be our first choice when we come visit Budapest.

Concern About Room Cleanliness

I’m reaching out regarding our recent four-night stay at your hotel. My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to our time there, but unfortunately, we ran into an issue that made our stay less enjoyable.

When we arrived, we noticed the bed in our room was full of hairs, which was quite unsettling. It gave the impression that the linens hadn’t been properly cleaned, and it made it hard for us to feel comfortable or get a good night’s sleep.

To be honest, this was especially frustrating because a similar situation happened at another hotel earlier on this trip, and it has made what should have been a relaxing vacation unnecessarily stressful. Sleep is such an important part of any trip, and it’s disappointing when something so basic gets in the way.

We wanted to share this feedback so it can hopefully be addressed for future guests. Considering how this impacted our stay, we’d appreciate it if you could let us know if there’s anything that can be done to make up for the experience.

The room have no AC. Since it was really hot we had our windows open but unfortunately there was noise from the street all night long and we couldn't sleep. Nice place and a very good location but I would definitely not recommend it in summer time.

Location is excellent, very well connected by public transport, but you can also walk anywhere, because the area is full of bars and restaurants. Room was large and there was no traffic noise. Breakfast is ok.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the City Hotel Budapest. Here are some pros and cons to consider:

Pros:
Spacious room and bathroom
Very clean
Great kitchenette
Excellent shower pressure
Courteous staff
Good location--close to Oktagon metro stop and many buses and trams

Cons:
Very dim lighting
Very small tv with no English channels
Creaky bed (but comfortable)
Noisy pipes

P.S. I didn't choose to have breakfast at the hotel, but it looked like a decent spread.

The staff at the front desk was very friendly and made a recommendation about the room to avoid any noise from outside. The apartment was equipped with dishware and the refrigerator, stove and microwave were working properly. It is located within walking distance from the city center and easy access to public transportation. The WiFi was very bad and did not have signal inside our room, there were few lights (from TV and other equipment) in the room that were annoying at night and we had to cover them to be able to sleep.

Well, my stay was fair at the start if the trip till big flying insects and spiders crawled into my rooms and i had to sleep in living room last night .. beware dont open windows on the garden side .. other than that, they had great comfy beds, modern furniture, amazing led tv with great internet .. and above all great location and great reception staff and very helpful and english speaking too ... they just need to upgrade their cleaning service and spray the garden for insects ...

Great hotel in a great location

Walking distance to the main centre of Budapest and to hop on hop off bus stops. Supermarkets (24 hour) on opposite corner at end of street. Nice quiet location, great breakfasts supplied, friendly and helpful staff who speak good English. Apartments are reasonably appointed with all you need equipment wise for a few days, pots, pans etc. A ceiling fan or proper air conditioning would have been helpful. We had an aircon fitted to the window but unfortunately it was permanently set at full force and was very noisy at night for sleeping. Reception staff could not adjust it to go slower either. This was the only short fall about the property. We would stay there again without hesitation.

Central location, staff helpful, but limited English. Breakfast was nice. Hotel advertises Air Conditioning, but it wasn't available in April, even though it was very hot in the room. No ability to just run the fan without a/c on, and no portable fans available. Windows opened, but then it was very noisy all night. Cancelled a return stay there. Please qualify which months air conditioning is available!

City Hotel in Budapest.\n

This is not a luxury hotel and the reasonable price would indicate that. It is however a very centrally located, super friendly hotel with all the amenities that one requires for a stay in Budapest of several days or longer. Rooms have a refrigerator and kitchen equipment and although the décor is somewhat dated. it all works great, is clean and is located in a super central location from where one can walk to cover all parts of the inner city.

Our 3-night stay in City Hotel was great, having all the pros you can get! Walking distance from the city center, very close to the buzzing district but still located in the very silent street. Staff was nice and helpful, breakfast quite basic but enjoyable, regardless. We would highly recommend this one!

The hotel was having extensive building work carried out at the front of the building which involved scaffolding being erected. It was there for 2 days and was removed at 6.50 am on the 3rd day of our holiday.
I should have been informed of this work being carried out prior to travelling and given the choice of an alternative hotel.

Terrific studio apartment for an amazing price

Exceptionally nice facility (studio apartment with functional kitchen and loads of closet and shelf-space), good complimentary breakfast, helpful English-speaking front-desk staff. Prices for all sorts of things in Budapest are startlingly low, and that includes the price we paid at this hotel (five nights in October). There is no question in our minds that this is where we would stay if we return to Budapest.

Apartment was a reasonable 3 star. Minimum kitchen equipment but adequate for short stay. Breakfast was continental style with decent range of cereals, fruit, ham and cheese. It was in a good location, about 10 min walk to the centre of Pest. Lots of good restaurants within 5 min walk. Would consider staying there again.

If you bring your own shampoo and body washer...

The single room got a huge space and lots of kitchen equipment inside, it's quite of useful. Breakfast is normally but I think its good enough which compared with another 3 star hotel. The most important is that they didn't served shampoo and body washer in bathroom.

City Hotel Budapest the right choice

I have to admit my stay at City Hotel Budapest - Aparthotel was surprisingly as I have never stay in an Aparthotel when I have been travelling abroad before.
The City Hotel Budapest is comfortable, nice and practicable. The people in reception is really helpful.
The hotel is located is a very nice area and near of the city center of Budapest. The stop of the tram (yellow) is oktogon. It is a little tricky going to the hotel from the airport. You have to take one bus, metro and tram.
If you are going to move around Budapest, it is highly recommended to buy a 24 hour ticket (you can buy it in the metro ticket office) which allows you to move in the city using metro, train and bus.
If I will be back to Budapest, I will try to stay to the City Hotel Budapest again.

Well located city centre hotel

Staff were courteous on arrival late at night and continued so over the course of the week we stayed there.

The rooms were large with the advantage of the kitchen area so we were able to boil a kettle and make coffee whenever we liked and if we had wanted we could have cooked in the microwave oven and used the well stocked cutlery and crockery.

TV channels were a good range with movie channels in English. We were also able to watch the Germany V Ireland soccer match in the room.

Breakfast selection was very good with a good range of cheese/ham/cucumber/tomato with a variety of breads. Fresh fruit was also good at breakfast. Time of breakfast between 7 and 10 was generous so we could plan our day easily.

I've stayed one night in this hotel, and I'm happy that it was only for the one night...
First, this is not a 4 star hotel. More like 2-3 stars. Although my room was huge (junior suite), beds were tiny with old bedding, and there were no sofa. Carpets were dirty and there were spider webs hanging from the ceiling.
But the worst thing about the room was the horrific smell of sewerage coming from the bathroom.
Btw, only bathroom amenities were two \"cleaning fluid\" dispensers.
The breakfast was good, but the watered down juice and milk were disgusting.
Staff were very friendly and polite.

Beware of the summer heat

This hotel was convenient and good value for money. The major down-side was that there was no air conditioning in the bedroom. Given that the temperature was around 35C, this made it uncomfortable in the evening. There is however, air conditioning on the ground floor in the restaurant. I wasn't made aware that the bedroom wouldn't be air conditioned before I arrived. Other than that though, I had no complaints.

A great base for walking Budapest

We arrived late at night; the bus being 2 hours behind schedule, to find a warm welcome and a very quick, efficient check-in. The staff were eager to assist and spoke good English - a great help as we spoke no Hungarian. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented. The small kitchen facilities were adequate for simple meals. For those liking to walk, as we do, the location is excellent for visiting the main highlights of Budapest, but you definitely need a taxi from the Bus Terminal. The hotel is also close to a variety of restaurants and small supermarkets.

A sleepness night

My husband, two daughters and I stayed at City Hotel for one night before departing Budapest. We chose the hotel because it was one of the few hotels offering room for four. There were two single beds, which were ok, but the sofa bed in the bigger room was a joke. You could feel the springs in the very thin mattress, and the bed squaked with every move. The head was lower than the rest of the body, and the mattress leaned toward the middle. The metal frame was exposed on the sides and the pillows were lumpy and thin. The room was supposed to have air conditioning, but there was none. My daughter and I did not sleep for even a minute all night. It did not help that some drunken people were shouting at each other outside our window in the middle of the night. Otherwise the street (which looked more like an alley) was quiet. The bathroom and shower were ok, but very small. A refrigerator blocked the way to the kitchen and livingroom, when the sofabed was pulled out. It's possible that the hotel is ok, if you have a regular bed, but the three beds in our suite were the whole reason we selected this unfortunate hotel.

Good Middle of the Road Hotel

Standards in the East are not the same as what most westerners are used to. Location -- this hotel is about a 40-55 minute walk from the main shopping street (Vaci Utca), the Danube river, and the area which seems to be of most interest to westeners. Castle Hill is even further away on the other side of the river. The hotel is within 10 minutes of the Opera House and the main street that goes to the heroes square. Next, and the biggest disappointment -- I specifically booked this hotel because the write up said they have air-conditioning. They DO NOT. They have an oscillating fan. This can be very important as Budapest is the second hottest city in Eastern Europe. In their broken English, they apoligized and said that THEIR website makes no such claim (I have not checked that). On the positive side, the hotel owners/managers have attempted to create a nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and are nicely appointed although the room had marks on the wall and several places where former tenants had damaged the walls. At first glance, the room did not look all that clean but on closer examination, the room was very clean, it just had some worn spots on the carpets and furniture. A generous breakfast is included (eggs, bread, yogurt, juice, fruit, sausage, cereal).

Great location! Right in the middle of the city centre, can walk to most sights with shops and restaurants nearby. The family suite has two rooms as well as a kitchen/dinning area which is very roomy. Facilities are well kept and clean, except the sofabed is terriblly uncomfortable. Staff are helpful. This is a good hotel with exceptional staff who speak very good english. When we first arrived having booked for eleven nights to undergo dental treatment we were a little disappointed in the size of our junior suite. However the very next day the charming manager changed us to a wonderful room with kitchen facilities. Very close to the main drag of Budapest and easy reach of restaurants and a short hop to the Danube area. Could not fault the staff at all, very friendly and obliging. If we returned to Budapest we would certainly use this hotel again. Very good indeed.

City Hotel Budapest

The hotel is in a very convenient location for tourists who are taking the city transportation system. However, it could be maintained better. When you report a broken fixture (light), it takes them a long time to fix it. It's because they don't have a maintenance person on site. They advertise free internet service, but when we got there, there was no service. We reported almost everyday for a week, but it was not fixed until our second week of stay there. We were booked for 21 nights and so we saw and experienced a few maintenance issues. Of the 5 front desk staff that we dealt with (3 men & 2 women), 4 were very friendly and gracious. There is this one woman who does not even greet you when you enter the hotel. Housekeeping could be improved. The breakfast is the same everyday....try eating that for 21 days! Otherwise, it's a good place for tourists who don't want to spend a lot of money on hotels and wants to be accessible to the city and transportation system.

Fantastic budget apartment in a great location

Considering how little we paid we weren't expecting too much when we turned up for our 2 night stay at the City Hotel, and from the outside it didn't look like much! However, when inside the staff were friendly, the apartment clean and more than adequate for our needs and the breakfast which was included was also good with a range of continental ham and cheeses, fresh, warm bread and cereals - again not luxurious but perfectly adequate to set yourself up for the day. The location of the hotel is excellent, right by the tram and also a stones throw away from loads of bus and trolleybus routes that will take you to the main sites if you decide not to walk.

I would definitely return to this hotel if I was to revisit Budapest - which I am already planning to do next year as the city is fantastic!

Good budget hotel - well situated

I stayed here with my husband and two boys (10 and 12) for a short break. The hotel is a 10 min walk from Nyugati train station (20 mins from airport - ticket costs only 360 HUF) and is within walking distance of most sights. We felt safe in the area at all times. The hotel is very clean and the staff are helpful and speak good English. We were given a family suite which had a double sofa bed in the main room, two single beds in the smaller room, a kitchen area and bathroom. Overall it was very comfortable apart from the sofa bed which was terrible. Breakfast was lovely - a selection of pastries, bread, jams, hard boiled eggs, cheese, ham, cereal, fruit and yogurts. There was a bar area in reception with reasonably priced drinks. The staff recommended a nearby restaurant which we ended up eating at 3 nights in a row as apart from traditional Hungarian food it also served pizza and pasta, and was reasonably priced. There is also a convenience store round the corner which sells cheap bottled water and snacks. If you like walking, all the sights are close by (except Statue Park which is quite a trek) - Heroes Square, the Castle District, Vaci Utca. If you don't like walking, public transport is excellent and very cheap. We bought a family ticket which is valid for 48 hours from time of purchase and cost 2200 HUF which gave unlimited travel on trains, buses, trams and metro for 2 adults and up to 7 children under 14. A fantastic city. I'll return to see the rest of it.

Cheap and clean

Arrived late at night so was a bit wary of area when i saw there were some strip bars around... thinking what have i done! However everything looks much better in daylight. The room was really comfortable, clean and the hotel was really quiet. Breakfast is of continental style served between 7-10am and they also do cooked eggs and bacon/ham. Reception were good at speaking English which is just as well as Hungarian was not an option for me at school. They arranged our hop on hop off bus passes and entry ticket to the hotel Gellart spa so we would not need to queue. Room had fridge,microwave ,toaster and kettle and was really impressed that our dishes were washed for us too!. About 15mins walk to metro. Would recommend and stay here again. Really good value!

Excellent stay in Budapest

The hotel is very close to the inner belt, with tram and trolley stations at 100 meters, and metro at 500 meters. Practically, you can reach most important attractions within 15-20 minutes. While the front is very close to another hotel, it has a very quiet internal garden. The room is excellent, with modern and fully equipped and functioning kitchen. Ideal for families with children or people who should stay more than 2-3 days. The bed is excellent, and the furniture is new and elegant. It also has a desk where you can work. The rooms is very large: it has also a place for a large table ! The bathroom is very clean and rather large. The hotel is rather small and very quiet. At breakfast you would expect more sortiments to choose from a four stars hotel, but the food is fresh and qualitative. All in all, it was a very comfortable stay.

Great Value, Great location

I stayed for 4 nights at this gem of a hotel. A nice oasis from the typical big name hotels in the area. Friendly and helpful staff. Secure entry. Made-to-order breakfast dishes are a nice touch. Really FAST wired internet access. The small stove and refrigerator allow you to make snacks or simple meals as an alternative to eating out. The only negative I would say is the small Euro shower stall that would be unusable for larger folks. Great location just a couple of blocks from the Octogon.

A Pleasant Surprise

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we were able to check in a little earlier than we expected. The room was beautiful, and we were definitely able to relax! The location is better than we expected... Just 5 mins from one of the main streets, and Terror House. Breakfast was good and set us up for the day... I'd bring your own English Tea though!! Even the taxi they organised to the airport was fantastic! We're definitely going to use this when we visit again.

L'albergo risulta in una posizione centralissima per visitare Budapest. Vicino a metro, supermercati e centri commerciali.
I dipendenti sono stati molto gentili.
Le camere sono spaziose e confortevoli, lo stile del mobilio è un po' vetusto. All'interno delle camere troviamo tutto il necessario e per chi vuol vedere la televisione prende pure la Rai.

2019年7月下旬～8月上旬と2019年12月下旬～2020年1月上旬の2回利用。2019年7月下旬はツインの部屋、2019年12月下旬はダブルの部屋に宿泊。
水周りはほぼ問題なし。
2019年7月下旬に宿泊したエレベーター近くの部屋はWifiはほぼ問題無く使え、部屋に置かれたエアコンも問題なく作動しており、ハウスキーピングもほぼ問題なしだった。ミニバーを兼ねた冷蔵庫があるのだが、夏の非常に暑い時期で冷蔵庫に入れたいドリンクやらなんやらが多かったので「ミニバー利用はしないので中身を出して冷蔵庫を空にしてもらうことは可能か？」とレセプションに尋ねたところ「OK。交代要員が出勤したら部屋に冷蔵庫の中身を引き取りにスタッフが行く。」との返答を受けたが、結局誰も来ず。
2019年12月下旬に宿泊した部屋（エレベーターから遠い位置）はWifi電波が弱く、繋がらないことが多かった。宿泊中、1日だけハウスキーパーが来ず、清掃やタオル交換がなかった日があった。また、部屋の電話が壊れていたため、レセプションに伝えたところ「知っているんだがホリデーシーズンでIT guyが不在なので直せない・・。」との返答だった。
まあ、値段相応のサービス内容、という感じです。

WIFIが繋がりにくかった

1Ｆ（日本式だと2Ｆ）のエレベーターから最も離れた位置の部屋に宿泊。この部屋はWIFIが弱く、繋がらない時間帯が多かった。この部屋のデスクの下にWIFIのアクセスポイントらしき装置はあったのですが、この装置は死んでいました。以前宿泊したエレベーター近くの部屋は特に問題なくWIFIが使えたのですが。おそらく、エレベーター前の廊下にあったWIFIのアクセスポイントらしき装置だけが生きている状態なのかな？
滞在中、1回だけハウスキーパーが来なかった日があり、リネン類だけ貰おうとしてレセプションに電話しようとしたら・・部屋の電話が壊れていました。直接レセプションに行きリネン類を頼み、部屋の電話が壊れていることを伝えたところ、「すでに連絡を受けているのだが、ホリデーシーズンでIT guy不在のため修理できていないんです。」との説明でした。
部屋の防音機能は貧弱なようで、今回は賑やかな隣人が多く、騒音が苦手な人だとキツいかな・・・という感じでした。
そんなことはありましたが、交通至便で、シャワーブースも水漏れがなく、便利なホテルだと思います。

Sentralt og greit hotell. Veldig trivelige og hjelpsomme folk i resepsjonen, som er døgnbemannet. To minutter å gå til trikken, som på et stopp tar deg til to ulike metrolinjer. Var også gangavstand til ulike severdigheter og fine områder (jødiske kvartal og 5.district) Bodde i studio med kjøkkenkrok, som inneholdt nødvendige kjøkkenartikler. Veldig ok rom. Tv'n er latterlig liten (20\" eller noe sånt). Kjapt og effektivt renhold hver dag, men litt ekkelt at det alle dagene var lange svarte hår på sengetøyet. Sengene er ok, men er du kresen ifht senga bør du velge et annet hotell. Frokost er inkludert, og det var godt utvalg ifht hotellstrørrelse (varierte fra 6 til15 gjester i spiserom de fire dagene jeg var der). Kaffemaskin der er tilgjengelig for gjester hele døgnet.
All in all en god opplevelse.

お値打ちだと思います

部屋は大変広く、シャワーの水圧も十分。泊まるのに不便はありません。ただ設備は古いです。目抜き通りから一本入ったとおりに有りますが、治安の不安もありませんでした。
