This hotel was wonderful. Is in very good shape, very diverse. It has restaurants, coffee shop, gym, pool and more services. The room is comfortable, the bed and pillows were in good shape. The bathroom was in excellent conditions, pretty nice towels and hot water. Closet space was fair. The internet was ok. The hotel was very close to other restaurants, parks and coffee shops.

The location is absolutely great. Unfortunately the mattress was absolutely horrendous. I think that a good mattress and a good pillow are a must at any hotel. This one had neither. Everything else was great but sleeping was torture.

El Aire acondionado de la habitacion no funcionaba cuando mis hermanas llegaron y tampoco cuando estuvieron ahi en toda la semana, incluso cuando dijeron haberlo arreglado. Los 3 asensores no funcionaban casi nunca, mis hermanas se tenian que bajar y usar las escaleras. No habia dispenser o fuentes de agua, te cobraban las botellitas de agua carisima. Agua es una necesidad basica para cualquier persona y mas con estas altas temperaturas. Pero lo peor de todo es cuando les hicieron pagar el IVA justo cuando se estaban yendo, cuando este hotel fue reservado meses atras y pagado por mi. Esto es una falta de comunicacion. Esto se les pudo haber comunicado desde el primer momento cuando llegaron al hotel, lo que hizo que se les atrase todo y pierdan el avion. Una verguenza.

Es un hotel que en terminos generales; se quedo en el tiempo. Si bien tiene algunos sectores renovados; como acceso; lobby ; piscina.Loa ascesores muy inseguros ; se detienen sin motivo. El desayuno es muy básico; y no hay renovación de productos ( estuvimos 6 noches y siempre igual) Y las habitaciones y baños requieren una renovación integral. Tienen que modernizarse .

The staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. One of the best attributes of this hotel is the location, near downtown and the Aristides area filled with nice bars and restaurants. The hotel offers a nice breakfast. However, this hotel looks quite outdated. The rooms are old: windows do not open, bathrooms are old, etc. The elevator doors get stuck (do not open) on the first floor. The first time, I got stuck and thought I had to hit the alarm button until I pushed the button for another floor and was able to get off the elevator. I informed staff about it; however, after 48 hours, the problem continued. Again, the location is the best attribute of this hotel.

Really great hotel, in wonderful location right by very pleasant green Plaza, with easy walking to all downtown locations, including the famous Beer Street ! where during Happy Hour ( up to 9 pm ) Craft Beer in Hangar 52 was two pints for Pesos 140. Tours to Vineyards and the Andes Vilages collected from hotel

The hotel lobby and staff were pleasant. However, the hallways and rooms were in very poor condition. The pictures on this site do not represent the condition of the hotel. First we arrived and our reservation was not complete I had confirmation for grow rooms they only had one. once the reservation issue was taken care of they assigned us a room , when we entered the room it was dark and clothes on the floor only to find that a man was sleeping in the bed. we went downstairs to tell them they gave us another room, got in he room and the springs o
in the bed were wormed through the mattess material, the next room was suppose to be an upgrade, not, the shower peeked on the floor from not being sealed properly and large bug was caught in between the soffice outside our window making buzzing sounds all night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good location, used to be a nice hotel

This was the #1 luxury hotel in Mendoza in the 70s and early 80s, and it stayed in those times. Old elevators, old rooms/bathrooms, the staff barely speaks English. Breakfast is decent, and the pool area is small but nice. Many locals are staying here from what I could see. Good price, and a great location, so if you don't mind a trip back in time, this might work for you. My two real complaints are extremely slow WiFi (better in the middle of the night or during siesta when not so many guests are using it) and thin windows - I could clearly hear people singing in the park 2 blocks away from my 7th floor room.

Very nice stay in Mendoza

The hotel was very nice and I had no issues. I was asked for a security at check in which I found unusual but other that this everything was fine. Swimming pool was nice and well kept. Location was great just around the corner from Plaza Italia and plenty of coffee shops and cafes near by. Overall I was very happy with my stay in the Raices Aconcagua Mendoza and in the city of Mendoza.

Nice Hotel for Tourists, Business

The Raices Aconcagua is a fine hotel that is convenient and close to excellent restaurants, shopping, businesses and plazas. Very walkable location. Our room was clean, the bedding comfortable, and all was in order. Breakfast buffet was very nice, with good selection of cheese, cold cuts, fruit, and pastries. The pool was attended and well run. Wifi was strong. Some front desk personnel have less than fluent command of English. They were generally helpful, but sometimes officious and off-putting. Still, I'd be happy to stay again.

the suite was reduced at the half of the space since our last stay 5 or 6 years ago, but the Price not !
towels are old and too used, looking like Hostel towels and room service did not change wate glasses or clean them
no wine glasses or champagne glasses in the room
Key for safe was not available during the first 48 hours so security was a problem, as we carried quiet much cash !!!
Parking was ok, breakfast was toooo por, with advertisement that eggs and all related with eggs was for extra charge....... in a 4 Star Hotel ????? Coffee was bad quality, no bacon, only ham, bread and pastry of regular quality

Arrived at hotel around 6:00pm from Uco Valley area heading back to Buenos Aires the next morning. We requested 2 taxi's for our family of five to the airport early the following am. Our first request was at check in and our second reminder was after we returned from dinner. The next morning no taxi's were waiting for our family!! Very disappointed in the service!

Hotel is nice. Staff is friendly. Beds aren't the most comfortable but good enough. The breakfast was basically continental with no hot food. I guess the kitchen is being redone. The gym isn't really a gym a few cardio machines no weights. It is in like an enclosed patio which connects to the pool that is nice. Overall nice hotel. Not the greatest but ok for the price. Although some hot items for breakfast would have made it worth it.

Frederico made our stay the best!

Our stay was great, mostly thanks to Frederico at reception. From the moment we checked in he made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful. The first night he even ordered a pizza for us since our Spanish is not great and we had trouble understanding the delivery service. He also gave us great recommendations and checked on how we were enjoying our stay throughout our time in Mendoza. There is also a great breakfast buffet at the hotel every day, and the location is very central and convenient. I would definitely recommend and if you are an English speaker just ask for Frederico!

it was not bad for the price. it was clean and in a good location. the room was small and had one of those double door things (which I don't like, but understand). We stayed at other hotels such as:

Amerian Executive- not that nice when you compare the cost of the suite to others. the room was smelly if you left it with out the AC on, the bathroom was not painted-?, the towels where old and worn, the T.V. was small and in the bedroom-leaving the rest of the suite empty, service was bad. the location was very nice and the lobby was nice.

Diplomatic Hotel-Best hotel we stayed at, clean, great service, great view, room was very nice and up-to-date and good location. For a little more money you get a much better hotel.

Sheraton- nice, good location, clean, but the furniture, carpet and room in general was old and run down- not worth the price and the entrance was shared with a casino.

The location is great. A short walk to Sarimiento Ave but not as congested and noisy.

Staff needs to be better trained on customer service skills. Had to ask three times for everything. I wanted eggs (they say they include it in the buffet but only upon request) and had to ask three times before they were delivered. I needed a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine. I had to ask three times after being told they didn't have one (even though they have a full-service bar/restaurant) before they magically found one. I had to ask three times for a late checkout after being told no. Not a good way to run a hotel. The only employees that seemed to be actually willing to help were the doormen and bellboys.

On the positive side, rooms are clean, location is great and the pool is large and enjoyable.

The location is great. The neighborhood is safe. I brought the wrong adaptor for my iPad and the hotel loaned me one. Free computer on site to print boarding pass. The room was nice and clean. Please note that almost no South American hotels provide wash cloths, so you need to bring your own or shower with a hand towel. The restaurant is hit or miss. I ate dinner their twice since places were closed for the New Years holiday. One meal was good, the other (a shrimp salad) was bad. Breakfast is a cold buffet with excellent fresh squeezed juice.

For the price of being right by the main square in Mendoza, but not paying full luxury hotel price, this is a perfect choice!

The lobby is great and modern. The rooms are a little small and not as polished in comparison, but it fits what you need and is clean. We paid a good bit under the luxury hotel price so for us it was a great compromise from what is priced above and below.

Great service and staff! Front desk was always helpful and Roberto in the restaurant is probably the nicest person I've met in Argentina.

We would stay again and recommend!

The Aconcagua appears to be about 40 years old, and I had been warned that it would be a little tired. They have recently updated the public areas and some of the rooms, which they designate as Superior and charge a little more for. These rooms are attractive and up to date, with new mattresses and updated bathrooms. Upper floor rooms have good views, especially those overlooking the Plaza Italia and the mountains. Other pluses: the bar/restaurant opens to a lovely patio and garden; the location is superb; there's a great pool and deck on the roof of the meeting rooms. Although not luxurious, it's a good choice and can be very good value at the right price.

The hotel was clean, quiet, and practical with very nicely appointed common areas and a good breakfast (until 11 am on weekends). On site parking was free and secure, and it was quick to get the car in and out. Rooms are a bit smaller than one might expect for a hotel of its category, but still comfortable and ours had a nice view. The one really frustrating thing was the common computer and internet access to which we had expected to have access -- only 4 computers for over 100 rooms, and not one of them was working properly. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful though in trying to resolve the problem.

A disappointing, definitely not four star hotel

If you decide to stay at this hotel hoping to be at a \"four star\", you will be very, very disappointed. Even though the staff is nice, the room is too small for two people and doesn't have air conditioner. Although it is usually cold in Mendoza, the room gets hot at night, and if you open the window, you will get the loud noises from the very busy streets nearby. We had to order a fan and use it during the night. In the bathroom, there is barely room to put things on the sink, and the products are not good. The breakfast is also quite disappointing for a supposedly four star hotel. This would be more correctly rated as a three, perhaps two star hotel.

Suite - just average

Good location, room looks a bit old. We stayed in a suite. Toilet very old and not a good privacy from the room itself. In a few words, just average, I'll go to another hotel next time. Never try hotel restaurante - less than average. Breakfast maybe average and lunch very poor (chewy meet and for Argentine that's a sacrilege).

Practical Place

Pleasing overall. The plus factor comes from eating experience: the breakfast is complete, including fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, a variety of breads and tartas. The dining room serves good meals, any time of the day, at a very decent price, with a superior wine selection. The breakfast and dining room staff are pleasant and very accommodating. The rest of the staff is also very helpful, even if my Spanish and their English are both basic....(for most of the staff)

Excellent value for money

Great place. Rooms not too big but clean and have all it takes to get 4*. Good ambience in the Hotel and not least, the most friendly and helpful 'crew' all over, from doorman, reception, restaurant to cleaning. Good location and all in all - excellent value for money.
