Spacious rooms equipped with all comfort. Comfortable bed, and pleasant sitting area. Parking at the venue was very easy and convenient. Reception staff was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was in South-American style: sweet light bites and fresh fruits. I very much appreciated a small attention the staff had arranged for my birthday during my stay.

A place closer to everything (supermarket, restaurants, etc). Friendly staff and the room was with all we needed. The only thing that you have to consider, if you want to wake up late in weekdays, is that the hotel is closer to a elementary school and you’ll heard the kids playing early in the morning. Beside that, is a great place.

Avoid at all cost the rooms located at the back.

We get a room located at the back of the building, whose windows are only a few steps away from an extremely noisy high school playground. Waking up at 7 am to the shouts of the boys playing ball wasn't a pleasant experience. The hotel staff told me that the hotel is a \"urban hotel,\" which is something I should take into account when booking it. Yes, unbelievable.
The room needed some maintenance, but the bed was comfortable, and the room looked decently clean.
After two nights we were moved to a room in the front which was extremely better in all aspects, especially the silence during the morning.
The breakfast was very good with a good quantity of different options.

No entanto, alguns detalhes merecem atenção: havia um vazamento no box do chuveiro que acabava molhando boa parte do banheiro. As toalhas disponíveis estavam visivelmente desgastadas, e a limpeza deixou a desejar. No café da manhã, apesar da boa estrutura, notamos um comportamento um pouco inadequado por parte da equipe: conversas em tom alto, risadas excessivas e uso de celular com o som ativado, o que compromete a experiência de um ambiente que poderia ser mais calmo e acolhedor.

So many great things about this hotel: location near dining options was excellent and easily walkable. Felt very safe at all times in and out of the hotel. Hotel offers breakfast which was very convenient and good. Good bed. Our room size was as advertised which was ideal for 3 people with a kitchenette and refrigerator. Great place. Spoke English. Always felt welcomed. Clean. Good shower and bathroom. Offered same day laundry service which was very good at a modest price…huge benefit. The laundry service cleaned very dirty hiking pants same day at modest and very reasonable rate. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Disappointing - not what’s advertised in photos

Overall not the best experience:

- The pictures are extremely misleading. Most of the rooms don’t have a balcony or a plaza view. When we raised this with staff, we were just told that was how it was and couldn’t offer us an alternative.
- Bathroom was covered in limescale, including shower head.
- Random churning noises in room at 5am, loud enough to wake you from sleep
- No coffee in room, only tea.
- Quality of breakfast was somewhat below expectations.

On a positive note, cleanliness was decent apart from bathroom limescale. Laundry was cheap and very efficient. Some of our interactions with staff were positive. Area also nice and quiet.

The hotel and staff were wonderful. Very nice breakfast included as well. The property also has bikes available. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It will a little bit of a walk to any of the tourist areas and that is the only reason I am not rating it a perfect 5. There was also great parking here. I would probably stay here again even though it is a bit far from all the local walking things we did just because it was so nice, clean and the staff were wonderful.

Pontos fortes : localização e simpatia do funcionário da recepção.
Pontos fracos : a foto do quarto que está no hotéis.com e que eu reservei não correspondeu ao quarto que me foi dado. No dia seguinte após reclamações fui transferido de quarto para o quarto conforme a foto que consta na minha reserva. A explicação foi que são poucos quartos conforme a foto e fui alocado de acordo com a disponibilidade. O café da manhã é muito simples eu diria muito fraco mesmo. Ofereceram uma salada de frutas de uma única fruta ( maçã ) ou seja salada de maçã misturada com suco de laranja ( tenho foto) . Os pães são de baixa qualidade poucas opções para um hotel desse custo . O hotel está em reforma o 2º andar com cheiro forte de tinta e sem os rodapés nas paredes . O quarto 210 onde fiquei tem um bom tamanho é de frente mas o banheiro precisa de renovação e as cortinas da janelas estão bem sujas.
De resto a atenção da funcionária da limpeza sempre disposta a ajudar. Minha opinião é que o hotel não vale o valor pago.

Overall not a great experience. Jacuzzi bubbles didn’t work. We had one of the worst rooms right on the street. It was very loud. The hotel at construction and bits of concrete flew in the air hitting us as we walked by. The hotel clerk either hated us or her job. She was very rude the entire time. Every question to her was an inconvenience. I wouldn’t stay here again. There are plenty of other places to stay.

We had a standard room, so no real view. Be aware that there is a window in the entrance lobby to the room which does NOT have a curtain (other than net) so it would be possible to see into the room from other rooms and on lighter days expect an early wake up.
Buffet breakfast was excellent, wide range of food on option as long as you don't expect a Full English! Amazes me how many people travel abroad and complain about the 'local' breakfasts. Plenty of options here. Hotel booked a cab to the airport for us, 20 minute drive, less than £3.50! Good location, easy walking distance to the main areas of the city and close to restaurants. All areas seem to be very well lit at night.

This property should be flagged for misleading photos and everything else. We paid for a suite overlooking the square with a balcony, and an extra room with a twin bed. What we got was a disgusting sofa and table in one room, an unusable kitchen, and a bedroom overlooking a parking lot with zero balcony. The sauna is advertised as open until 10; we went in at 9:00 after asking for towels. WE WERE LOCKED OUT AND LEFT IN THE COLD AT 9:45!!. They locked the doors on us. We had to break into a conference room and call the desk to have them let us out. They didn't even so much as apologize.

Clean, convenient hotel in Mendoza

We had a great time staying at El Portal Suites in Mendoza. They were very accommodating when we added a day to our reservation and were able to help us with recommendations for restaurants and good areas to explore. They were also able to help us with taxis though out last day was Father's day and they were not able to hep us with airport transport so it would be good to try to find drivers and arrange transport on holidays ahead of time.
Overall great place to unwind and relax after a full day of wine tasting, horseback riding, or hiking :)

The hotel has some nice features, but the room had disgusting carpets and it was untracked, the bathroom was dirty, everything in the room was old, it had a crazy strong smell (some sort of air freshener), and the sheets were dirty. The hotel roof patio was lovely, but the hot tub was not heated so we couldn't use it.

El Portal is a great value. Terrific location. The condition of the rooms is really good. The bed is very comfortable. The hotel staff is wonderful and very helpful (all speak english). The only downsides are: the free breakfast is so-so and the kitchenette in the room thinly stocked (i.e. only one wine glass, very few utensils, like 1 dinner plate and 1 salad plate). We didn't eat much in the room except to reheat some leftovers and to have some cheese. However, you couldn't really cook a meal if you wanted to. Otherwise, it's a great hotel.

First time in this hotel but many times in Mendoza. This is a very well located hotel that has the format of a small aprtment. A little kitchen that solve some of your problems if travelling with small children. Breakfast very will assoreted and staff very frindly.
Parking a little small but at least the offer it for free. In from of a nice park and close to many restaurantes and shopping area. Recomended,

Spent 3 nights in El Portal Suites toward the end of October 2012. The bed was comfortable and the location was fine but the rooms were past their prime. The towels were worn and there were rips in the curtains. The rooms need to be updated; the breakfast room already seems to have had an update.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff. Located right on the Plaza Chile and 3 blocks from Independence plaza so very conviently located. Main shopping street and super market is 1 block away and also lots of shopping by independence plaza. Great restaraunts 3 blocks away. Main park is an easy 20 minute walk. Short cab ride from the bus station. I liked the hotel. I would definately recommend it highly.

El Portal Suites, Mendoza- central & comfortable

The hotel is situated opposite the Plaza de Chile & our room had a balcony overlooking it, which was great.

The room was spacious & comfortable & was a pleasant change from small hotel rooms. The staff were very helpful in pointing out things to do in town, and importantly, choose a wine tour to suit us.

It was our honeymoon and they also organised a great bottle of wine for us, as well as some beautiful flowers, which impressed my wife.

The hotel is very central to the main restaurants etc in Mendoza, and walking around was fine... cab rides seldom exceded 20 Arg Pesos (+-USD 4) for getting around town.

The room service whipped up a superb fillet with malbec sauce when we arrived home after wine tasting all day and didn't have the energy to go out... so all in all it was a great stay on all levels.

Cooking equipment is provided, but is very basic & you can't really do much with it. They don't provide any tea/ coffee/ milk & sugar, but this service does not seem to be normal in Argentina anyway, so can't take points away for that.

I would definitely stay here again!

Loved the amount of space you get in your room at this hotel. Basically two rooms in one as there is a bedroom and then a seperate, living room dining area with a small kitchenette. Very nice and it's in a great location to walk everywhere in down town Mendoza. The fron desk will even arrange tours to wine country or high Andes for you.

El Portal Suites & Apartments is an excellentvalue

We found this hotel to be staffed with helpful, friendly and responsive staff. The room was clean and comfortable. However, there was a problem with both air conditioners. Each problem was addressed promptly and to our complete satisfaction. The morning complimentary breakfast was simple but more than satisying. The location is very convient to restaurants and stores and is located across from Plaza de Chile which is a beautiful place to take a morning and evening walk! We plan to return to Mendoza and El Portal will be our first choice.

The hotel is located across from one of the main plazas in town which made for a very relaxed and social setting. Every place we needed to go was well within walking distance. El Portal will be my first choice of hotels when I reutn to Mendosa.

Not as modern as the website portrays.

Very spacious rooms though minimal kitchen utensils. TV reception was terrible and the overall impression of the hotel given by the website seemed a tad misleading. The rooms are quite old though present as modern through good use of photography. Location was good and the restaurant served some decent scrub, however, stock was always limited therefore choices of meals were as well. The pasta was very nice and fresh.

Good Value for money in central Mendoza

Rooms were large, the heating was very good, the beds were comfortable and the hotel location was very good.

Only two things let the hotel down.
1. The showers. Bathroom itself was fine, but the shower had very little pressure and the water temperature was only just above luke warm.
2. Breakfast service. The food was fine but the service was terrible. They were not regularly topping up items or when they did take items away for top up, they would not return for 5 minutes. Getting the breakfast you were hoping for was more luck on timing than anything else.

O quarto estava em boas condições, mas o banheiro está precisando de manutenção urgente. Enferrujado, com banheira no chuveiro e com um halo de ferrugem em torno do ralo o que dava um pessimo aspecto.
Porta do armário quebrada, emperrando, mas depois foi consertada.
Café da manhã muito limitado. Sempre o mesmo e com poucas opções. E ainda faltava as coisas mais simples. Os ovos ficavam gelados e demorava para reposição. Muito fraco.
