I've been to Ayr many times but this was our first time at Daviot's. We were greeted warmy by Linda, who showed us to our room on the middle floor. While there were four rooms at the top of the stairs, we never heard another soul during our four day stay. The bed was comfortable and the recommendations for dining excellent.

Quiet BnB close to the city center and beach. Easily walked to restaurants, pubs, and shopping. Provided a parking pass for car in front of property, so did not need to drive in order to enjoy Ayr. Overall, a very good experience!

OK - but poor value for money

OK stay at the Daviot House: room was tidy and clean and the welcome was exceptionally pleasant.

However, our room was very small; refreshment selection was poor; there was inadequate storage and table space; and value for money seemed poor compared to other hotels/guest houses in the same area.

Such a clean, quiet, homely and welcoming stay. Very good location for visiting surrounding castles. We had three meals at the Tree House, a local eatery just around the corner and I cannot recommend it enough! Ayr has some of the loveliest and kind people in the world. I definitely recommend Daviot House as the place to stay in Ayr. :)

We love Daviot House!

Daviot House is a lovely guest house in a fantastic location close to the beach and Ayr town centre. We had a great sea view and enjoyed some colourful sunsets over the sea! The room was very clean and peaceful, with a gorgeous comfy bed! The owner Linda was an amazing and very attentive host who made sure everything was perfect for us and cooked us some very nice breakfasts! While in Ayr, we enjoyed a lovely walk along the very long beach, and a fantastic day out at Culzean Castle. We will definitely be back to Daviot House the next time we are in Ayr!

We were in Dunoon to celebrate a friend's birthday and had a great time made all the better by our stay at Douglas park guest house. Ken, our host made us very welcome, good breakfast selection, I had the salmon. very clean and comfortable, no complaints; would recommend a stay at Douglas park 👍

Me and my partner stayed here for two night to attend a music event that was a 2min walk away. Great welcome and very clean parkn right outside. With the place been full all weekend it was still very quiet. Load of place to eat right next to it. Will stay again

Exceptional B&B in centre of Ayr

The Daviot B&B is perfectly placed for a short stay in Ayr for the races, the seaside or local area. Very close to centre shops and restaurants and very close to beach! The hosts and the rooms are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is to die for and the rooms have everything, we stayed in room 4 with large bathroom with shower and bath, plus superb room. Will be back soon!!

Stayed overnight with my daughter and grandkids age 5 &9. They were excited. The room was ideal, cost £95.00 for us all. Affordable but i thought we were getting breakfast as thats why i choose Daviot house. Owner very welcoming and friendly made us very welcome. Beds were quite hard but everyone likes different levels of firmness.

Superior Guest House

A superior guest house. Extremely comfortable and very clean. Many original features. Our room did not have an en suite, rather a private bathroom along the hall, which was large, with lots of natural light and lovely.

The owners are an environmentally responsible couple who encourage energy conservation and non-chemical cleaning products. In addition, they were particularly warm and welcoming.

The premises are close to the beach and the town. All in all, a delight and we cannot wait to return.

It was like a home from home. Linda and Richard were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great, with nine choices! We would definitely recommend and return if back in the area. They have thought of everything you might need in your room which was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. *****

Though only a short stay my impression was very positive. Owners and staff unfailingly polite, informative and seemimgly never too busy to engage in conversation.
Ideally situated with seemingly nothing at more than 15mins walking distance.
If I should return to Ayr the hotel would be my first choice😊

Great hotel for our visit to Ayr racecourse. Would be handy for the beach but as it was the end of November and a storm was raging we avoided this. Close to many good quality restaurants in the town centre.

What a treasure

After a long train journey from Dover, we arrived at Daviot House, one of the B & B’s on the quiet street of Queen’s Terrace. Our hosts rushed out to meet us, showed us in, and graciously took my wife’s bags to the room. There they asked us about our travels around Europe. The room was so spacious we almost couldn’t believe our good fortune! It was elegant and comfortable. They then told us all the great places to visit. If I am lucky enough to travel back to Ayr to see the Burns Cottage, I will stay there again!
