We loved the breakfast, lovely choice and healthy options too. Beautiful views and great prompt friendly service. Both dining rooms are visually wonderful.
Rooms are nice, our original room lacked the wow factor and was very standard however for our last night the hotel upgraded us and the room was truly beautiful.
Location was nice and quiet and walking distance from the town. Dinner menu lacked vegetarian options and detailed descriptions of meals. Lots of nice restaurants in the town that had good variety.
The pool area was just about to be renovated after we left, it was very much in need of some TLC and not overly relaxing, steam room extremely run down. Children are also welcome in the area and unfortunately we witnessed two boys along with their mother be extremely rude to 3 other guests using the pool. They almost hit one of the ladies doing lengths and were visibly intruding on her space when the rest of the pool was available, splashing and shouting, it was very uncomfortable to witness as their mom laughed and encouraged it, no staff were around to diffuse the situation.
We recommend a trip to Arran, we were lucky enough to see the dolphins whilst travelling by ferry. The ferry terminal is within a quick drive of the hotel.

The breakfast options were good, but staff need training on allergies/intolerance. I had a sympathetic response to being gluten intolerant, but waitress looked a bit anxious. I did receive gluten free toast, ordered porridge which is normally safe for me but it came with granola (which should have been left off)! Other than that the staff were excellent and very attentive.

The staff were very friendly and helpful particularly the concierge both when we arrived and departed. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable and the views over the water on two bright sunny mornings were very impressive. The toilet was clean and bright and the shower effective. I rated the stay as 3 stars because of the lack of pool. If I'd known that the pool wasn't available before booking, I would have chosen an alternative hotel with a pool. The advertising showed the pictures of pool & it is only when you looked at the details subsection that there was a note stating that the pool was out of use for a period.

We had a king bedroom booked and they upgraded us to a king suite apparently which was not tidy at all, there was spiderwebs, dead flies at the window etc.

Upon complaining about it, this room situation was fixed with a replacement room which we appreciate appreciated. The staff at the time was accommodating about it.

In the morning when we were checking out, the person at the desk wasn’t apologetic at all when we said what our entire situation was like. Instead told us that we got a room which was more expensive than we originally booked.

On the positive side, the views are great, breakfast had really good options. Pool/swimming was great.

Beautiful hotel on the beautiful Ayrshire coast

We stayed at the Marine Troon for three nights whilst touring the area. It is a beautiful hotel right on the coast with stunning views over the Isle of Arran.
The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable and beautifully decorated.
The service in the restaurants was patchy however. One evening, we waited over 30 minutes for our food to arrive and one drink never arrived. The following night, we had to wave down the wait staff to ask for a menu after sitting at a table for 20 minutes. It was not overly busy at these times so it suggests the staff need additional training.
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again when in the area.

One of our favorites!

This is one of our favorite hotels in the world. Unparalleled views, and atmosphere. Beauty all around. We felt our room was not what we had reserved, so they gave us a choice of rooms, and we ended up in a beautiful space. Staff was very accommodating. Food is excellent.

I liked everything about the Marine. Only one criticism and that was the fact that the hotel itself does not have a direct telephone that you can ring them on. All calls for all hotels in the group go through central reservations whom I called and was put on hold for half an hour. But everything other aspect of the hotel and our stay was excellent. Will definitely stay there again without question.

If you are a golfer playin Troon, there could not be a mote lovely, refined but casual and convenient property. The star is incredibly kind and thoughtful and the lovely views of the see and the course make for a calm, bucolic, experience. Food and drinks were lovely as well.

Beautiful ingredients, well presented but didn't taste amazing for the price. Have the chefs ever tasted the Hake in a Chicken broth, a waste of hake?

Great stay

We arrived early before a wedding, after a fairly long drive. It was too early to check in so the lovely reception staff arranged for us to have access to the leisure area to get ready for the wedding. They even offered us shower access if needed.
The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The view was gorgeous.
Every member of staff we interacted with was incredibly helpful, polite, and smiley.

Room was above the kitchen and a bit noisy when everything started up in the morning for breakfast at 0530. Shower in room was a bit weak plus getting hot water as dial had to turned around to the maximum point and even then the hot water could have been hotter.
Did not see any EV charging points lucky were came in our ICE car.

Wonderful weekend away for some rest and relaxation. The bar was lovely with great cocktails and food options. Staff were super friendly. Lots of great local bars and restaurants nearby. The spa was great and getting to use the bikes free of charge was a great little add on.

traditional but expensive.

Nice hotel but a bit expensive for the standard. Service at breakfast was poor. To show balance breakfast was busy but put at a table not cleaned or set. Had to ask for cutlery, napkins and tea and coffee did t arrive untill breakfast was almost finished. The quality of the breakfast was very good, but attention to service was lacking.

It is a really beautiful hotel with lovely bar/restaurant and great spa facilities and treatments. The rooms are the main let down - they are small and mostly in an extension off the back of the main building. Our two rooms overlooked a car park. One of the rooms had a very distinctive smell of smoke, only had one bath robe rather than two, and had a blocked sink which prevented it draining at all. I reported all of this to reception who brushed it off and didn’t take any action or offer any remediation. I would have expected a slight reduction in our bill, at the very least. A real shame for what was otherwise really lovely stay.

Really lovely hotel. The bar is a great place to eat/sit and we played a few games of pool.
The room was nice, although a little warm even with the windows open. Coffee and milk wasn’t refilled when our room was cleaned which wasn’t ideal for a lazy morning.
Food at lunch and dinner was really good, a nice selection of bar food and restaurant options.
The only thing that let the hotel down a little was the service. The waiting staff were nice enough however drink orders take a really long time. You can also wait quite a while to be served at the table, we had breakfast in the seal bar as we were visiting with dogs, we waited 20 mins for a menu/drink order before I went to speak to the guy at the bar.
We would return as the setting is lovely and it’s great being so close to the beach.

Lovely property right on the water. We stayed here for its proximity to several historic sites but it's a mecca for golfers from all over the world. Just happy we were not there for the British Open madness! Staff were lovely and the restaurant was top notch.
