The hotel entrance, bar and restaurant areas are very modern and clean. Our room was obviously freshly cleaned as the bathroom floor was still wet. The decor is tired and could do with a bit of modernisation especially in the bathroom and a replacement shower is required, it was hard to switch on. The food in the restaurant was pretty average we had nice starters but the mains, burger and pizza, were unfortunately disappointing. Overall we enjoyed our stay but will not be returning.

Stayed here many times. Staff from checking in to leaving are all very courteous & friendly. Room perfect (204) on first floor, though I do prefer ground floor room. Dinner was lovely, great menu and food delicious. Bar prices very reasonable for a hotel. Hotel was very busy probably full but everything still seemed perfect for all staff being rushed off their feet. Breakfast lovely, and even though queue was very long to get seated as all tables were taken we got seated at bar area which wasn’t a problem and for it being busy the food was all replenished very quickly. Fab stay, look forward to returning.

Plenty of parking at front of hotel. Really helpful staff especially Jepson who sorted a ground floor room for me. Nice spacious clean comfortable room. Breakfast is 7-10 am so plenty of time to get served . Lovely evening meal and quite reasonably priced for a nice hotel. I asked for chips instead of rice but was later advised rice was an integral part of the dish. When the dish came i was given an extra small portion of chips😁 its the little things that make a difference. Quiet at nights no problems getting sleep

Hotel was very noisy, it seemed impossible for people to close their room doors without slamming them, it was busy so this went on to the early hours, people were loud too walking past the door pretty much shouting at each other. If you are expecting a good nights sleep this hotel on a weekend is not the hotel for you!

Overall lovely hotel on the inside downstairs, Our room was very basic and a funny smell in the corridors and our room, other guests had also mentioned it, Got breakfast delivered the next morning some items missing and no toast or milk for tea. Staff friendly and check in and out easy. Good location.

Only complaint was there was a noisy coach party leaving at 7am but not hotels fault they were noisy. Will stay again next time in Ayrshire!

We were up to visit family and friends, met some in the bar. The room was as we requested, ground floor with walk in shower. The addition of a grab rail and shelf for the toiletries in the shower would be a good idea and why does hotels always have loose toilet seats?

We all had an amazing stay. Food was delicious and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Only thing that could be improved on is to have full length mirror in rooms as we were attending a wedding and couldnt see ourselves before leaving. Also need charging points by the bed. Otherwise i would definitely recommend to others. The staff were also very nice, friendly and helpful. Thank you!!

Family stay for a wedding.
Couldnt book a family room if I entered the two children in the booking criteria but I could book a family room for 2 adults. I then had to pay am extra £7.50 per child per day for breakfast at check in. The beds were very hard and could feel all the springs. The bathroom must be as old as I am, desperately needing an upgrade. We had to ask to have new towels but were told they would get replaced when we are at breakfast the following day - we wanted a shower before breakfast thanks. The room was large and spacious which was brilliant for getting ready for a wedding. Lots of mirrors and plug sockets too. We liked that we could login go netflix on the tv too.

We were disappointed with the restaurant/bar, especially the first night where they told us all they had was pizza (and we found out later there was a full menu but it depends on where you sit in the restaurant/bar area. Breakfast was included and lots of selection. When I asked about adding my husband to breakfast (who came to meet us), the front desk told me it would be 5 pounds to add him for one breakfast, and then that morning they charged 9.99 pounds for him to eat breakfast. Also disappointed with the lack of communication from the hotel leading up to our stay, as I emailed (I’m not in the same country so a phone call isn’t possible without significant fees). I emailed to request special accommodations and they never responded. When we arrived they had no record of my request. However an email was sent from the link on their website, and a second through Expedia (the booking website that was used). I have confirmation that both emails were read. They took no ownership for this lack of communication, and blamed me for requesting something that they cant guarantee. (Which was not the issue, as clearly, a request is only a request, but acknowledgment of said request would be appropriate). This property does have public transportation nearby, however best to have a vehicle to make the best of the area.

Lovely modern hotel. Restaurant had some little booths as well as traditional tables. We were in a booth which I like. Staff were very good, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. I loved the fish in the pool in the restaurant. some rooms have a long walk to them due to the size of the hotel. It has its own carpark.

Booked online for my partners birthday night, requested a ground floor room with patio doors, hotel confirmed this via message and confirmed extra cost which was absolutely fine. Arrived at hotel to check in and never received the room requested, explained this to the gentleman on reception and he confirmed he could see my request but unfortunately the room I requested had already been allocated, deeply disappointed with this as I requested a month in advance and the hotel confirmed the room? Instead we were given the last room right at the back of the hotel, which is a very fair distance when you have walking issues. The room itself was very basic with lots of minor fixes required, bedsheets inside out, cobwebs all over the windows, drill holes throughout the toilet, paintwork not up to standard, stayed here a few times and never had any issues up until this booking and it has definitely put me off booking again when a simple request cannot be completed. Breakfast the next morning, we were sat in the bar area while the main breakfast area was quiet and plenty of seats, felt like an outcast.

Room didn’t resemble the website pictures, the room was dark toilet was run down and shower was difficult to operate. The tea and coffee at breakfast were always tepid and not hot unless asked for the urns to be refilled. Apparently some rooms have been renovated but are given to people booking directly with the hotel and not to Hotels.com customers.

The room allocated was at the extreme edge of the site. A walk past 40 rooms and numerous cupboards. The evening meal was delicious but the breakfast (a full breakfast) was served cold on a very hot plate the tea and coffee was also cool. The staff were all very helpful and polite. The addition of car charging points would be a good addition to the site.

Stayed 4 nights primarily to attend a wedding at the hotel. In summary the downstairs is clean, modern and smart. The restaurant food is very nice.
The bedrooms themselve are very dated and the mattress not particularly comfortable. We had a bath with shower over which was ok. The cold tap only trickled with water and turned off if you tried to turn it on further! The toels and bedding were of good quality.
We did ask for fresh milk and decaffeinated tea bags which they were happy to provide daily.

Lovely , comfortable stay. Had slight issue where l was told mid meal breakfast wasnt included, but the manager , a lovely guy quickly sorted this for me. Recommended to all.

The reception area of the hotel is beautiful but the bedrooms let the hotel down. They are not as nice as the main area and the bed I was sleeping in was extremely uncomfortable and I hardly slept. At breakfast time the area is so busy and as everything is self service it took agres to get a cup of tea never mind a breakfast. This needs more organisation

Rooms are tired & dated with very poor mattresses. The doors do not close properly when you enter - you have to slam them fully shut. We walked past so many rooms in the corridor which weren't locked properly and could have been entered easily. There is no security guard or keycard entry to the bedroom area so ANYONE could walk in off the street.
Bathrooms are dirty, mouldy sink, ancient grouting, soap scum and dirt on the soap dish, weak shower.
Food scraps from other guests room service was left in the corridor for more than 24 hours before being removed.
Litter lying outside on the grass outside, again left for days.
Very fake and unfriendly staff on the front desk and working in the restaurant. All looking like they wanted to be anywhere other than there.

Stayed at Riverside lodge before staff are always friendly and welcoming, room was ok bathroom a bit dated and bath is stained so doesn't look clean, there was old socks in bedside table and base of our bed was broken didn't sleep at all, finally did fall into a sleep to be woken by other guest who didn't know what room they were going to , breakfast was lovely .
