The breakfast buffet was very good.
It was a little walk to the train or bus station, but not bad.
There wasn’t a refrigerator in the room or ice machine. The shower had a very high tub to step over.

I've mixed views about this hotel. Location isn't bad, tucked away so not on a main road and reasonable walking distance to the U or S Bahn. Breakfast was okay though I wouldn't get down there too late. I didn't really have any interaction with other staff. Room was quite small, even for a single. So nothing was particularly wrong but not sure I'd rush back either.

Das Hotel ist sehr günstig gelegen. Man erreicht die U- oder S-Bahn in wenigen Minuten und ist somit schnell in der Innenstadt.
Die Zimmer sind sauber, die Einrichtung ist praktisch aber schon etwas älter. Die Betten waren bequem, nur die Kissen könnten erneuert werden.
Das Hotel bietet ein abwechslungsreiches Frühstücksbuffet an. Es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Auch wenn sehr viele Leute im Speisesaal sind, findet man immer noch einen Platz und eine reichhaltige Auswahl am Buffet.

Perfect for what I needed. A small , efficient , clean room for 1 person for 1 night. Even had a work desk. good shower with nice water pressure and hot. Close walking to S Bahn train. And the free breakfast as others have mentioned was exceptional compared to other places I have stayed. Staff was super friendly.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Carmen -- an older hotel, but clean & functional rooms. Also located in super convenient location, just a short walk from the train station.

Located in a quiet residential area, which felt very safe, the building did not stick out or take away from the surrounding apartments/family living areas. Check in went smoothly and the staff was very helpful. The room was small but cozy. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. A window was able to be opened fully and a was fan available to keep cool. I enjoyed the morning breakfast spread which kept me full until lunch. Within convenient walking distance to public transportation (~8 minutes to Harras station). The only thing I did not like is that there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. But the hotel is very close to restaurants, shops, and even a Turkish grocery that provided fresh produce if you needed food, drinks, or personal items. They also have a kebab shop very close by and an Indian restaurant attached to the hotel (in the same area where breakfast is served). In summary, my needs were accommodated for my Oktoberfest visit. Would recommend and visit again!

I would recommend this hotel a million times over. Myself and my two friends stayed at this hotel and it was absolutely perfect for us. The triple room is honestly perfect. It’s roomy, the beds are comfortable, I loved the pillow and I’m very picky…the best thing at this hotel was the staff. The breakfast is completely delicious and the breakfast crew staff IS AMAZING. Snjezana was so wonderful. She always had a smile on her face, she was kind, helpful, sweet and funny. She went out of her way to make us feel special and comfortable. Nikolina was so sweet as well. She said hello to us every morning and asked how we were doing and how our trip was going. Two incredible ladies that deserve recognition. The front staff was nice as well, the location was absolutely prefect. The train is right around the corner and so easy to access. Fabulous hotel I definitely recommend. It’s simple, to the point and per For what we needed.

We had a twin room on the second floor.

Overall appearance of the hotel was very dated.
But the hotel itself was very clean and tidy.
We stayed one night. Bed was comfortable, pillow was not the best, but that’s just opinion.
Room again was dated but clean and tidy.
Towels given.
Hair and body wash in shower.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was average
Water for tea was not hot despite arriving for breakfast at 8am.
Breakfast was ok. There was lots of variety.

if I was to stay again in Munich, I would consider to stay again.

More of a Motel feel than a Hotel

This place did the job considering the city was insane for Adele. Close to transportation. The rooms leave a lot to be desired. VERY dated, and mine reeked of cigarette smoke. No AC and the portable fan was missing so my room was extremely hot. However, given the condition of the room - it was EXTREMELY clean. The included breakfast was also fantastic - it was so good it seemed out of place in a hotel like this. I’ve definitely stayed in worse, but I’ve also stayed in much better.

Me and my dad stayed here at Carmen Friday through Sunday to go to Adele in Munich. The room was a bit small and no AC, so it was very hot. We had to sleep with the windows open.
Other than that it was very quiet and no sound from traffic. Easy to walk from and to subway, bus. Close by to a grocery store.
Breakfast was great, lots of variations. Everything from salmon salami cheese and bread to croissants cake and yoghurt.

I did not expect the property to be so far from Munich itself. One thing I would mention was on the morning I was leaving early for the 6.45am train for the airport the after hrs porter made sure I had breakfast before I left. Plenty to eat for breakfast. Catered for all type. I would add once I knew the times for the trains into Munchen the distance and the price of the hotel was excellent.

Really appreciated the great breakfast options at the buffet. We were in Munich for Oktoberfest, and the hotel was just close enough to walk to, but far enough to be out of the drunken chaos of it all. Truly enjoyed our stay.

Our stay was very comfortable! The temperature of the room was great and we had comfortable bedding. The bathtub was a bit higher than we are used to, just something to keep in mind when getting in and out :). Great water pressure when showering. The staff who helped us were extremely nice and informative. It was a quick 5 min walk to the train made it easy to get to all of the places we wanted to see. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and they had many different options of food and beverages.

Oktoberfest visit

Originally a trip for the Oktoberfest but since cancelled we went nevertheless to Munich. Hotel was fine but perhaps a little way out of the center of town although to be fair very near to a U-bahn.
Breakfast was adequate and varied but the \"hot\" breakfast could have been warmer. Check-in and out were also fine. Overall a decent hotel.

I rated this hotel as average as there were a few things I was not happy about. I booked 2 non-smoking rooms to find out on the day of the arrival that my mum and my daughter were given a smoking room which smelled of cigarettes so they had to air the room every time they entered it. The lady at the reception insisted it was my fault as I had asked for twin room and they did not have any non-smoking room available. At any point I was given any notice of this issue and since the hotel was full on that day we were not able to swap for another room. I was also surprised to see that the washbasin in our bathroom was leaking since there was a hole in the pipe. We had to use a bin to collect the water to avoid floods on the floor. I would think that this type of leakage could have been found out by the cleaners and not wait for the guests to report it. Fortunately, the fix was provided the following day.
I cannot fault the breakfast, there was a lot of choice and the serving staff was very attentive and polite. My complaint about guests smoking in a non-smoking section of the hotel was dealt with quickly so many thanks to the lady at the reception who acknowledged the issue. The room was clean and the bed comfortable enough. The only thing I would add is a kettle and teabags/coffee packets as that was something I was missing when we came back in the evening. Also was not impressed with noise coming from the kitchen as the room was located just above - you could hear every word ..

The guy in the front desk looked at me and went cold. ! He wasn’t friendly or helpful at all. I went to my room and realized I forgot my bag in the car to the hotel and another time I forgot my phone in a car and both times he was like I can’t help you . Now I understand if you really can’t help but there’s something called empathy in service industry but yeah this one was too cold I didn’t even want to say hello in the morning while walking past him. Other than that the room was clean even though the corridor stunk of smoke .

The room was small. Bath towels were not clean. The bed pillows were worn out so that it would give you a sore neck. Some days there was no hot water for the shower, or there was not enough hot water. The location was O.K., being within walking distance of Oktoberfest. The breakfast was good. Overall, pluses and minuses.

Harras metro station is close walking distance. A supermarket at the corner. The room I was in was good size, and good breakfast offerings. The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this hotel again.

In a safe, suburban area and close to Harras U and S stations so easy access to all the city. Comfortable, well run hotel, not lavish but much better than basic. Room was smallish but with a high ceiling and the large bathroom with a wall length mirror compensated. Breakfast had a great mix of hot and cold meats and cereals. Not a hotel to linger in but a great base. Excellent value for money.

Plus point : Walking distance to U & S-bahn Herras station. Shops are also within walking distance. Helpful 24 hr reception. Very good breakfast included.
Minus point : heater in room seems inconsistent as some nights can be quite cold. Sound insulation definitely needs to be improved as i could hear neighbours talking and snoring in the middle of the night.

Located very conveniently to the underground/suburban train station Harras. Breakfast was excellent, personnel friendly and good room service other than frequency of towel change. Rooms 401-425 are not accessible by elevator, so one must carry luggage through stairs. Overall very good, would stay there again

What a fantastic find in Munich during Oktoberfest! The hotel was a little loud, due to guests coming in late, but other than that it was a very good experience. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal! Reason enough to stay at Hotel Carmen again! Also, very close to a big underground station (Harras), so fairly good access to the city.

Pretty good hotel. The only issue was no air conditioning. But apparently few hotels in Germany have air conditioning, so it became not a big deal. The breakfast is amazing here! I have been traveling in Europe for 2 weeks and have stayed at 8 hotels. This hotel had the best breakfast by far! A ton of variety, very delicious, and very friendly staff. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the area was lovely.

Great location for Oktoberfest. Only a 15-20 minute walk. And only a 5 minute walk to the train/subway. Only complaint we had was the showers were terrible, either the water was scalding hot or cold. Absolutely fabulous!!! The room was clean and very efficient. Small compared to U.S.A. standards, but more than adequate. The breakfast buffet was the best!! Fresh Lox & fruit everyday. Staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Worst in hotel in München!

Immediately when I entered the room wreaked of smoke and cigarettes. This persisted for even three days into my stay. The front desk and reception was fhe ABSOLUTE WORST! I literally had to leave this hotel and book another hotel bc of the fact that they wouldn't accommodate me even after having paid to stay there for a week in full. I was unable to get a refund but found a wayyyyy better hotel called Derag Livinghotels at Paschstreet 46. I highly recommend Derag! Amazing hotel free water and beer every day with fruit! So clean, and newly renovated and modern. Amazing service there! Carmen was just the worst

Not so friendly staff but excellent breakfast

Staff was not friendly and unhelpful for business travel. Weak wifi and staff unhelpful with navigating the phones. When asked for a receipt for the hotel stay, the front desk refused saying that there was nothing to pay so no need for a receipt. We insisted, but he declined. The cleaning staff ignored our do not disturb sign on multiple occasions. Beds are small, but to be expected in Europe. Complimentary breakfast buffet was the highlight.

I like the Carmen hotel. The breakfast is the best compared to both Rivoli hotels around the corner. I dont understand, however, why the rooms have poor heating in the winter. I had to purchase an electric blanket. Its also aged. Neeeds an upgrade.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. It's a three minute walk to the metro/subway station. They have an Indian Food Restaurant that is splendid. The neighborhood seems safe. The room overall is ok. I would totally recommend this hotel. It's right by the Harras metro stop.

An affordable and comfortable hotel.

The hotel was both affordable and comfortable within easy walking distance to Oktoberfest. Furthermore, the parking was easy (not difficult to enter nor to exit).

Based on Room 106

Either you keep the windows closed and swelter in a sauna or you suffer unending noise. Owners padded door to lessen elevator noise but room sits above front door which you hear every time it opens. Add all outdoor smoking conversations and luggage rolling over stone and you're lucky if you fall asleep by 2 am before being woken at 6. Left after two days severely sleep deprived.

Quiet hotel

Hotel is fine and conveniently located if you want something quiet with easy access to the centre of town. Some staff, although polite, could be a bit more friendly. Breakfast was very good.

The stay was good. It looks like an old hotel which was renovated. The room i stayed in had a small bathroom. But, overall experience was good. Good breakfast and easy accessibility to Oktoberfest tents.
