A No Frills Experience

My first experience when I arrived was quite unpleasant when the receptionist abruptly said I couldn't check-in until 2.00pm (45 mins). I was aware but the lady was in my opinion very rude. Finally she did take my detail but I needed to return after 14.00. I went to get lunch and returned at 14.30 only to find cleaner hadn't finished room.

The room was adequate but having booked a double bed to accommodate my height, I was surprised to see just a single duvet in the middle of a double bed. In that the room costs same for single or double occupancy this was a big negative.

Having travelled early in the morning I had hoped to grab some sleep in the afternoon but was greeted with the noise of pigeon which I thought was outside the window but I then found the noise was coming through a ventilation shaft. This wasn't an isolated occurence as each morning a 04.00 the loud cooing pigeon would start up and sleep was difficult.

There was a small bottle of water in room upon arrival and I should have expected a daily replacement but nothing was seen for the rest of my stay.

Finally, the shower attachment was broken. I mentioned it at reception who say they were aware and apologised. If they were aware prior to my arrival why hadnt been fixed or another room.offered

We were very satisfied with the Hotel Stare Miasto Old Town. The location was convenient to Stary Rynek with a walk of about 5-7 minutes. Parking was available outdoors on site. Our room was quite spacious with a sitting room and bedroom- both clean and nicely decorated. The bathe was roomy clean and modern with nice tile and a roomy shower. Overall, we were very satisfied with the Hotel Stary Miasto and would book again!

Wonderful location and staff

We arrived and had planned to stay one night only, but loved the hotel and the town so much that we added an extra night within 3 hours of arriving. Everything is perfect. The service is fantastic. The room is very comfortable and the parking a breeze. Great location for exploring the town on foot or by tram. Breakfast is eye candy. Colorful and good coffee and tea all day long along with cookies aka biscuits.

A friendly hotel with nice staff.
Clean, nice rooms with comfortable beds.
Free tea and coffee in their patio.

The hotel is situated just 3-4mins from the downtown area of Poznań, making it easy to walk for food, drinks and sightseeing.

Pretty darn good for the money

The hotel is reasonably nice, clean, maintained and comfortable. Not outstanding in any way except the staff were very good, friendly and seemed happy to accommodate. I'd say it's a decent place to sleep but would not want to hang out there. The breakfast courtyard is quite nice and the breakfast spread looked decent though I didn't try it so cannot attest to the food itself. The location is what I personally wanted but it is not in the nicest part of Stare Miasto. The street itself is a little seedy.
I happened to stay during one of the worst heat waves in Europe and can happily say the air conditioning was excellent in both my room and the public areas. Nice and quiet and held the temperature steady, not one of those cheap under-window units that wakes you up at night and vacillates between too hot and too cold.

No all rooms have a/c. The fourth floor had small rooms no a/c and dirty curtains. Parking is free for only the first 8 cars.

Breakfast was great. Nice lounge area to spend the evening in. Wonderful fresh flowers throughout the lobby and lounge.

Deserves a higher star rating

Place made me wonder how they could be only three stars honestly. Good breakfast, very polite, warm and helpful staff, nice clean rooms. A prolonged heatwave and our room being on the sunny side made it stifingly hot though, and no AC. Then again, they don't control the weather. Parking was a bit complicated, but the staff helping you get your car in and out of the small, packed space.

Very nice hotel.

Very nice hotel, close to old Town which is beautiful. The hotel staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A nice touch was being able to get tea or coffee at any time, all included in price. Breakfast - excellent. The only problem was that the weather was extremely hot so the bedrooms were hot which made sleeping difficult. Otherwise room was lovely.

Just a one night stay in this fine old Polish city.This hotel is tucked away on a side street just a short walk from the Rynek(Main Square) and offers access to most of Poznan's attractions

Overall the hotel was excellent. Great location. Short walk to Stare Miasto. Rooms were clean and the staff pleasant. Had a hard time making an outside call. Each time we called the front desk asking how we could get an outside line, we were given a different answer. Getting a call in was difficult also. We could not connect with our family member while inside the hotel.

My wife and I booked the hotel to enjoy a 2 night break and selected the Hotel Stare Miasto close to the centre of Poznan. It is located in the old part of the town and the immediate surroundings and streets are somewhat rundown and yet to be renovated but don't let that put you off. The hotel itself is clean, quiet and offers a very comfortable stay, and is only a 5-10min walk from the main square (\"Stare Rynek\") in the centre of the old town (Stare Miasto) . Only a breakfast buffet is offered but good value and well worth taking up. Guests can have a tea or coffee in the dining room at any time with the staff only too willing to make any type of tea or coffee requested. We took advantage of this several times during our stay and saw nobody else so had an undisturbed refreshment. The rooms are good too.

This was my second stay in this hotel and both times it was excellent. Close to Old Town Square, but far enough that you don't have all the traffic and noise, sometimes late at night. This location is quiet, and offers limited free parking, a rarity in the area, where parking space is very limited. You may need to play \"musical cars\" when you get blocked (or you block someone else), but everyone cooperates, knowing how difficult is to find parking over there. Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast at reasonable cost, in a nice setting. Room very clean and comfortable.

Great Value and Good Location

We enjoyed a lovely weekend in this hotel, which was great value and an easy walk from Poznan's main square and many other attractions. There are also lots of great restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel provided free bottles of water each day as well as free tea, coffee and biscuits in the restaurant. Our room and bed were very comfortable and the complimentary wi-fi connection worked perfectly.

The hotel is good, clean, nicely renovated, very friendly staff and the hotel nicely respects the style of the neighborhood. Parking was a problem, Expedia misinterpreted the hotel information about parking. We were prepared to pay for the parking, but it would be nice to know that the parking really is quasi non-existent. Then we (and other guests) would / could look for parking right away from the big parking areas nearby Stary Browar.

Gutes Hotel, Frühstück ganz normal, durchschnittlich, schlechte Backwaren sonst nur OK. Enttäuschende Lage (Lärm der Strassenbahn, man kann nicht beim offenen Fenster schlafen. ) Keine Klimaanlage im Zimmer.

Bring earplugs!

When I stay at a hotel the most important thing to me is my comfort of sleep. This one failed pretty hard in providing it.

We were put in a room that is right next to an elevator that makes insane screeching noises on top of it's normal operating ones. It kept going up and down well into the night even though we stayed during period when there aren't lot of people traveling anymore.

On top of that you can hear everything happening in the corridor through the apparently paper thin doors and also the tram noises through the windows.

So I urge anyone that wants to stay here to take ear plugs, as the elevator is kind of a central fixture and close to every room.

As for the good things:

- The location is awesome, everything is close and the free parking is a giant advantage against other places to stay in Poznań.

- The breakfast offering is small, but everything tastes great.

- The free tea comes with nice cookies too : )

Hôtel très bien situé

Hôtel très bien situé pour visiter à pied la vieille ville. Le personnel est très sympathique et accueillant. Nous avions réservé deux chambres et avons ainsi constaté que toutes les chambres n'ont pas été rénovées. Le parking est très petit, peu de places disponibles. Nous gardons une bonne impression de nos deux nuits passées dans cet hôtel.

Hay algo que no puede controlar el hotel y es el ruido del tranvía que empieza muy temprano y termina hasta la noche. Si te molesta el ruido, tal vez no es el hotel para ti.
Eso si, el hotel está súper, súper limpio y no tengo ninguna queja.
