What a stellar experience! From the moment we stepped foot into the resort, we were welcomed with so much warmth and enthusiasm from every single staff member.

I made a note that this trip was for my girlie's birthday, and they decorated our bed with rose petals, filled our bathtub w flowers, and even delivered a cake to our door while singing happy birthday.

Denny, the manager, ensured everyone on the team was working in unison and now that we're at another resort in Uluwatu, we can't wait for our next trip back here at Wapa Di Ume in Ubud.

Trust me, I rarely leave reviews- good or bad- but this was well worth it! This is the kind of resort that will shape your entire Bali experience.

Wonderful stay at Wapa di Uma Resort. It’s one of the most beautiful and serene places in Ubud. Very friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and everything was clean and well maintained. Special thanks to Dewa who was incredibly helpful and kind to arrange the last minute transport for me. Highly recommend!

Excellent service except for the one night they came beating on my door. Breakfast was wonderful and the room was very clean. Moldy loungers so you didn’t want to lay on them. Gym was not available and my friend needed to work out; one of the main reasons we booked this hotel was it had a gym. No massages available. A lot of confusion surrounding the floating pool breakfast I ordered. I wouldn’t recommend doing that again. Staff at breakfast every morning were excellent and the food was delicious.

Just had 3 peaceful days here. Pure bliss. Staff go above and beyond to be friendly and welcoming. Choices at breakfast were varied. I ate all dinners here. Delicious food at bargain prices (compared to U.S.). Drink prices were not as cheap, but I'm not a huge drinker, so it was ok. I used their spa (was given 20% discount). They offer free shuttle to/from downtown Ubud. Honestly, so glad I didnt stay in town..crazy crowded. This was much more peaceful. They has a cultural night with traditional dancing. And the property landscaping is gorgeous!

The staff were service oriented, very hospitable from the start and checking in via WhatsApp for our needs/questions and also for a smooth arrival/departure.
The room does not have a tv but that wasn’t a concern for us just something to take note. It is really big and clean, the bathtub was amazing as well though the water may not remain hot to fill it completely.
The breakfast is not a buffet but more than sufficient with many vegan and vegetarian options.
Overall I loved the property and would love to come back

We were welcomed with warm smiles. They showed us where everything was and assisted with our bags to room. They even learned our names and addressed us by name when they would see us. Wapa Di Ume is a calming retreat from the hustle and bustle of central Ubud. It feels very traditional and formal, in both look and service compared to some other places we stayed while in Bali. The staff is all very friendly and professional, and happy to help. The rooms are huge, and very minimally decorated, which is both practical and calming. The super-sized beds are super inviting. The spa was lovely, we booked a couples spa package that included a Balinese massage, body scrub, and flower bath overlooking the jungle and grounds - perhaps the highlight of our stay. The hotel restaurant was very good, and the floating breakfast was lovely in the infinity pool, which we had to ourselves.

The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and are equipped with refrigerators with minibars, kettles and the necessities you may need.
I book the one bedroom villa. I will definitely be returning to Wapa Di Ume for all of my stays in Ubud. Thank you for making us feel like family! ❤️❤️❤️

We booked the family villa and it was beautiful, just like the resort. Few resorts in Ubud have beautiful scenery like this one - right on a rice field (not terrace), with an infinity pool and a spa.

My favorite part was that the resort offers activities like yoga classes and rice paddy walk. That was a nice bonus. They also arranged breakfast in pool but this felt a but overpriced considering breakfast is already included in the reservation and it was not any different.

Areas of improvement are:
1) the gym - it’s in poor condition with some machines not working. No A/C.
2) entire resort is poorly lit at night. Lighting needs to be better. We almost tripped several times cause it was too dark.
3) pest control needs to improve - our room was full of spider webs and wasps. We wouldn’t care but it got to a point where we had bugs in our beds.
4) Communication - teach your staff English. We had tons of miscommunications with appointments.
5) The spa needs more attention. We had a bad massage here, towels were dirty, booked for 1 hr but lasted only 40 minutes. Masseuses were tired as it was end of day.
6) room safe was broken

Based on these reasons, although I didn’t mind my stay here, I would rather stay at a different resort next time I’m in Ubud.

Beautiful place. Love the peacefulness and quietness of this place. Not too far from Ubud shopping center. They have a shuttle to take you to the center and pick you up. All staff were friendly. Attentive and prompt to any concerns. We stayed there 8 days. Suprasa the manager was really nice, upgraded our room with a private pool when he noticed we were staying for couple days. Checked in on us to see how everything was and attentive to needs and concerns. We had breakfast here everyday overlooking the beautiful rice terrace, there was a good selection of choices. We were usually out exploring so we had lunch and dinner somewhere else. But the restaurant does serve lunch and dinner as well. The Infiniti pool was very enjoyable. My heart misses everyone at this beautiful resort.

As good or better than the photos. Very large individual pool and huge room. Bathroom top notch and very clean and super quiet at night. The on site restaurant was better than anywhere else we ate in Ubud and staff could not be more helpful or friendly. Definitely stay there again unless this and other positive reviews push prices out of our range!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 9 night stay at Wapa di Ume Ubud. This was my third visit to Ubud in the past five years, and I stayed at two other resorts on my previous trips. Wapa di Ume Ubud had turned out to be my favorite resort by far. For my future visits to Ubud, I will only stay here from now on. The hotel staff are so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant staff were so amazing. Everyone greeted me each time with a big, authentic smile. I felt like I was treated like family or a friend, not just as a guest. I highly recommend the villa with private pool. Everything I had at Mr. Wayan, Coffee and Eatery was exceptional, from their Indonesian selections to their Western selections. I am looking forward to returning to Wapa di Ume Ubud next year.

This place was probably once amazing. Not at all anymore. The handle in our shower came right off. No hot water or pressure to begin with. They did fix it but would not use the tub for any reason. Both the tub and the toilet looked like they had been leaking and improperly fixed. Throughout the property there was mold on many of the outdoor surfaces. The breakfast was not good at all. One day the yogurt was warm. Another the scrambled eggs were not even close to cooked. The stench throughout the grounds was absolutely disgusting. I honestly have no idea how this has as many stars as it does. The only positive was the staff's friendliness.

I also had a massage which was lovely. We had room service dinner which arrived quickly. We could hear the live music quite loudly from the room, but it stopped quite early (around 9).

We stayed for a week and had a very relaxing time and were looked after by the staff. The surrounds are beautiful, in the midst of rice fields; the room was spacious, clean and luxurious; the breakfasts were pretty good, especially if you stick to the Indonesian menu. It's not super-close to the heart of Ubud, but there's an hourly shuttle bus to get you in there and it's also cheap enough to get your own transport.

The people of Bali are wonderful and the staff at Wapa di Uma is no exception. The facilities of the resort and environment it is set in are absolutely amazing. We dined at the resort restaurant much more than I initially planned due to the hospitality of the staff working there. The resort focuses on your stay from the incredibly friendly personalities of the staff to the continuous cleanliness of the entire facility. The property sits against beautiful terraced rice patties and is loaded with tropical plants, flowers, and koi fish.

DON'T MISS THE BEAUTIFUL BALI COUNTRYSIDE

We wanted to experience the country side of Bali and it was exactly what we got. A lovely view over the rice padies and our own pool. The hotel food was excellent and the staff were great, lovely people.
We had a small problem with insects but that was promptly taken care of by the hotel manager (Buli) and his staff. Thank you Buli we would certainly stay with you again when next we visit Bali.

A gem of a hotel, close to bustling Ubud. The staff can’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable, the food is great and reasonably priced, the rooms are stylish and comfortable, spa and pools perfect for relaxing after a busy day’s sightseeing. It was an incredible experience. The staff and the manager are extremely sweet and kind. We stayed when the Coronavirus outbreak started to happen all over the world, and the hotel took major precautions already for the visitors. We got temperature checked each time we dined and entered the hotel. Overall, this is the place to have to best Bali experience, can't wait to go back and stay there again!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was a true representation of Ubud! The food at Mr. Wayan was amazing. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The pools and spa were unbelievably gorgeous. The rooms were large with fantastic views. It's close to city center with a shuttle on the hour. We were able to go on a local bike tour to see the real Ubud. Would highly recommend this place!

Pros: Loved the staff, pools, yoga room. Resort smells like fresh coffee. Turn down service was a nice touch. Fruit and nice water in room + ample breakfast options were great. Did the honeymoon spa package. Although it was expensive for Bali standards it was awesome.

Cons: Food was mediocre and expensive. Very very limited restaurants in under 30-minutes walking distance for a cheaper bite to eat. There were very loud bugs in the trees that sounded like shrieking electric wires. It was very hard to relax and gave me a headache.

We knew there was a rice paddy tour but didn’t get alerted of how to sign up. Would have liked to do this!

Pool was chilly but I loved it on a warm day.

Beautiful hotel in Ubud. It is unassuming from the outside when you pull up, but the property is really lush and expansive once you go inside. I loved our suite with a beautiful canopy bed, 2 balconies, and a bathtub that overlooked the rice fields. We also had a view of both pools from our room. The tiered pool is next to the spa and the infinity pool is next to the Wapa restaurant. Both pools were quiet and relaxing since there are not many guests in the hotel (I think 26 rooms). I ordered pasta at the infinity pool for lunch which was convenient and delicious. We ate dinner in Mr. Wayan's restaurant one night and also had the included breakfast there both days. You pretty much can order anything off the breakfast menu and it's included in your room cost. The food was really good and view from the restaurant was very nice. We did make use of the shuttle into the town center to explore and go to dinner one of the nights. Overall a great stay and I would love to go back.

Peaceful Paradise

This hotel is hands down the nicest must upscale resort I have ever visited. The staff was extremely helpful and kind (they knew our names on sight!) and the room was pristine. Everything at the resort was in perfect condition - the pools were amazing, the restaurant delicious and the room itself was fit for a king and queen. I was able to check in early and was greeted by the lovely front desk staff. I was also upgraded to a terrace view which was beautiful. I loved the private pool but did go to the infinity pool for happy hour and it was a beautiful view! The breakfast was made to order and delicious. The area around the hotel is quiet and the hotel offers a free shuttle into town which was always on time and the drivers are so nice!

Grounds were fantastic (a bit uneven if mobility impaired). Staff and service was brilliant and the food/breakfast was lovely.
Rooms were clean and comfortable but no door on the toilet/ensuite. Hot water was average (Luke warm at best) and not enough to fill the bath, but this was the only down side.

Beautiful rooms in the middle of rice fields. The rooms are simple and without TV which makes them very conducive to relaxation. The private plunge pools and decks were wonderful as well. Food at the restaurant was consistently excellent. The spa services were also very nice and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is delightfully removed from the hustle and bustle of Ubud but very accessible. The only negative was the \"Culture Dinner\" where local Balinese dance was performed. The food was not up to the standard of the normal restaurant food and the dance was not at all interesting. Perhaps it was just the jet lag we were experiencing but the dance held no interest for myself or my teenage children. Overall, this is a fantastically beautiful resort with wonderful people and food. I could not recommend it more highly.

Amazing, perfect escape yet central to everything

What a wonderful and unique experience! Spent 6 nights with my son and cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Beautiful, well kept grounds; staff extremely helpful and friendly; restaurants were top notch...in fact better than any place else in Ubud. Every time we ate elsewhere we were disappointed and felt so extremely lucky to be staying here. Daily yoga a bonus. Great central location yet far enough to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown Ubud. Shuttle service was very convenient. Would highly recommend!

Perfect Place For a Relaxing Holiday

We had a pool villa. Very serene and relaxing in picturesque surroundings. Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff. We mostly ate at the resort's award-winning Balinese restaurant.

Not all service staff of the restaurant was professional. Looking for a place of your bag. \"Sir, sorry I can not find a chair\". Thus, we took one ourselves. Seems to us not the right attitude in a 4 star hotel. Front office and car drivers excellent. Find solution for the shuttle - to wait an hour overtime with 32 degrees c. not pleasant! Spend some time to remove mos. Give the BQQ Bali dancings some context by giving a brief introduction during the intervals. Think of a smarter breakfast solution while keeping the current service. Not one person asking \"which juice?\" quest gives answer and then the next waiter shows up with the juice and you make your choice right way. Strange. How would you like your egg madam? Answer:five minutes. Result eggs for the whole group which have boiled for not more than one minute. Beautiful scenery. However - updates are needed, to our opinion. For examples, animals in the rotan room our villa kept us awake during the night.

Beautiful hotel with amazing views

We had a lovely stay in Wapa de Ume. The hotel is beautiful and very well located, with wonderful views on the rice padi fields and an amazing infinity pool overlooking the jungle. Definitely very suggestive. Breakfast was à la carte and very rich. The service was very good too, even if we had a small problem at the beginning when we were assigned a room very different from the one we had paid for. But the problem was sorted out as soon as we complained. Our suggestion is if you go for a private pool villa, make sure the pool has a normal size (they try to give us at the beginning the villa with a jacuzzi instead of a pool.

Beautiful hotel surrounded by rice paddies

I loved Wapa di Ume! From the outside it's pretty non descript but as soon as we went in and saw the beautiful surroundings, we were sold! It's so pretty, you want to take pictures everywhere! The surroundings are part rice paddies, part jungle (there was even a small waterfall outside our room), part temples and completely picturesque.

Breakfast is a la carte and while not exceptional, it is substantial will lots of variety and very nicely plated. The staff are also very lovely!

Our room was beautiful with two balcony areas; one with chairs and a table and the other with sun loungers. It would have been lovely to have a breakfast on our balcony or spend some time at the hotel pools, which were very pretty, but unfortunately we were out and about both days we stayed there.

Home away from Home

We have returned on 4 occasions to Wapa and will continue to return as often as we can. The resort has everything you could possibly require; beautiful and serene surroundings, feeling of isolation only minutes away from the centre of Ubud, genuinely friendly and helpful staff (all staff), excellent choice of breakfast and a scrumptious afternoon tea, free shuttle on the hour to and from Ubud central, option of many free activities (yoga, afternoon tea, rice paddy trek), option of 'pay for' activities (massage, beauty, cooking school, traditional Balinese dance down by local children, and delicious dinner nights), choice of 2 amazing pools spilling into the ravine. A small intimate bar has been added to the resort without effecting the ambiance of the place.
We cannot recommend this resort highly enough! The moment we step into Wapa and are greeted by the beautiful smiles of the friendly staff we immediately feel relaxed and comfortable. If you are thinking of treating yourself to a stay in Ubud you cannot go past Wapa!

Luxurious hotel in an incredible setting

We had a wonderful experience at Wapa Di Ume. The staff were lovely, courteous, and helpful, particularly Uni at the main reception. Our room and the whole hotel were super clean and the pools, yoga room, and dining facilities were all excellent.

The hotel was recommended to us by a friend, and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to our friends. Thank you for helping us have such a relaxing time in Ubud!

Nice quiet resort close to Ubud

Wapa di Ume is a delightful resort 5 minutes drive from the centre of Ubud. Its nestles on either side of a small river valley and is surrounded (for now) by rice paddies. The rooms are large and airy and most of them have nice views.
It is supposed to be all about relaxation so guests may be surprised to find no TVs or gym and the two pools are definitely for floating rather than swimming, but the staff are wonderful and the restaurant serves great food.
If you want to get away from the world staying in Ubud this resort is a great choice.

Total luxury with a gracious and friendly staff

Had the pleasure of staying one night and wish we could have stayed longer. Our room had a wonderful scent from the flower petals arranged beautifully about the room. The view was serene from our room overlooking a blanket of green rice fields.

We ordered room service which was delivered hot and professionally. It was very flavourful. The breakfast was include; I was impressed to be offered a full breakfast menu as we sat on a lovely deck overlooking their organic gardens.

The grounds were beautiful with gardens and flowers galore. The pools looked inviting. I wished I could have done a yoga practice in the tranquil, clean and spacious yoga studio but time did not allow.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely awesome. The surroundings, the staff, the details in the design of the whole hotel, the food... We had nothing to complain about. The friendly staff will try their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and they will all learn your name in 5 minutes ;) There is a shuttle bus every hour taking you to Ubud centre free of charge from early morning till late at night. I've travelled a lot and stayed at many hotels in my life, this was definitely one of the best stays I've had so far.

A slice of heaven on the edge of the paddy fields

This hotel is true rustic chic. Quite magical when the sun goes down. It respects nature while trying to fulfil 5 star criteria. Note they have no TVs which is excellent but provide wifi free of charge.

I preferred the old section of the hotel but the newer section is gorgeous too, just further from reception (they have a golf buggy to take you there is preferred). The views from our Wapa suite balcony room were lovely. The grounds so immaculately kept.

The staff are fantastic and will do their utmost for you. We stayed with our 4 yr old and they couldn't do more for him. Service excellent and always with a smile. Food also very good. We tried all location options for breakfast and the room service at no extra charge was really good and in a timely manner.

The hourly shuttle was also essential and very good.

The only point I would say re: the spa - it may be a bit more appealing if the prices were a bit more reasonable. Ubud is awash with very cheap massage/beauty options which are good so to be a bit more competitive with them, and for guests and outside visitors to try the spa this may be reviewed. The spa itself is gorgeous and staff are very nice. One therapist did some babysitting too Ms Wayan was lovely.

A special mention to Ms Merry and Ms Septi who were very welcoming among Mr Gusti's great team. Thank you for making our stay truly memorable.

I look forward to returning in future with friends and family.

The hotel is in very lush and well maintained grounds with lots of water running in the various channels. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
We normally do not eat in hotels as the food there can be over-priced and/or not as authentic BUT we eat at the restaurant twice and the food was outstanding! Reasonably priced as well.
Breakfast was superb and with a wide variety of choices.
A nice touch is the free tea/coffee & sweets between 330 & 430.
We also took part in the free yoga and the free rice paddy walk. Both very enjoyable and worthwhile activities.
A superb experience, we loved it!

This hotel is good in terms of its staff. Ubud itself is pretty boring as compared to Kuta or Seminyak. Would only spend a day in Ubud.
