Our stay at The Lokha Ubud Resort & Spa was nothing short of magical.

We stayed in a valley view room and waking up to the peaceful sounds of the river flowing below was incredibly serene. The setting is absolutely beautiful — surrounded by lush greenery and nature, it felt like a true escape.

The staff were exceptional — warm, attentive, and always smiling. The breakfast buffet was generous and delicious each morning, with plenty of options to enjoy.

The complimentary shuttle service into central Ubud made exploring very easy, and we found ourselves visiting the Ubud markets frequently. Returning to the calm of the resort after busy market visits was the perfect balance.

The spa experiences in Ubud were unforgettable, and The Lokha provided a peaceful and comfortable base for everything we wanted to do.

An absolutely fantastic stay — we would return in a heartbeat.

An excellent property and stay. The staff are most friendly and the location, at the end of the ridge walk and away from busy Ubud is excellent. Nevertheless there are some issues:

- The menu has very limited Indonesian offerings and none, sometimes one, for breakfast. Indonesian cuisine is very rich and has a lot to offer and I was a little disappointed that even basic breakfast dishes such as nasi goreng, bubur ayam and others were not offered for breakfast. While there are some dishes for lunch and dinner, choice is limited and the twice a week BBQ did not offer anything indonesian.
- much of the gym equipment is not working or of poor quality.
- the mattress was a little sagged.

Overall it was still a good stay.

The staff, setting, and services of this hotel were outstanding. The views all around the grounds and the infinity pool were amazing and so relaxing. The restaurant was beautiful as we soaked up the chill jungle vibes at the tasty breakfast buffet and extensive all day menu for dinner. They have a good shuttle to Ubud but we also enjoyed staying in our area above the hustle of town. The staff were so nice and helpful for anything we needed and the spa with flower bath was such a unique and romantic experience for me and my wife. I never write reviews, but we had such an amazing time at this magical resort!

I had high hopes for The Lokha Ubud, but my stay was underwhelming—especially given the premium pricing. Things started off oddly when I ordered a pizza from room service. It arrived in under 10 minutes (impressive!), but was completely cold. Not exactly the welcome meal I was hoping for.

The next afternoon, I was hit with a blast of loud, thumping music. I asked the staff about it and got a bit of a mystery tour: first they claimed it was coming from their own restaurant (?), then later—after some back and forth—they finally admitted it was actually from a live DJ pool party at the neighboring Amora resort. A little heads-up might’ve been nice. They said they’d ask them to turn it down… unsurprisingly, that never happened.

To their credit, they offered to move me to a different room—further from the noise and closer to the river, where the sound of rushing water mercifully helped mask the bass. But then came another letdown: the bed sheets had a distinct mildew smell, and there was visible mold in the bathroom. For a property charging this kind of rate, that’s just plain sloppy.

On the bright side, the staff were genuinely friendly and tried their best to accommodate—but no amount of smiles can make up for poor soundproofing, mystery mold, and a club-level soundtrack in what’s supposed to be a tranquil jungle retreat. For the same price, you’d be far better off at the Hyatt in Sanur.

We recently stayed at Lokha Ubud for a week and really enjoyed our time. The hotel is in a quiet, convenient location with a complimentary shuttle into town, and there are cafes, shops, and a spa within walking distance. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, with Wulan standing out for making our stay extra special. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options that changed regularly, and we also enjoyed the afternoon tea and the BBQ dinner with traditional Balinese dances. While the rooms were clean and comfortable, they could use a deeper clean, and the poolside lounge chair cushions and towels could be refreshed as they appeared stained. Overall, we had a great stay!

The Lokha was a hidden gem. My wife and I can to Ubud for our honeymoon and we are glad we stayed at this resort. Rooms were very clean and the staff were super friendly. The resort has a lot of amenities like a spa, restaurant, and small gym. The resort offers shuttles to Ubud city center and taxis to surrounding locations. Staff went above and beyond to take care of us. One of the best resorts in Ubud.

Staff were great and very friendly. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning the villa.

Few negatives, mosquitoes were a problem, feel like burinh stucks or spray could be used when turn down service happens. (Had this in other hotels/villas similar) got bitten alot.

Breakfast is too big and not great. We eat out everyday. There is so much potential for this place just needs to tweek a few little things.

Other than that we enjoyed our stay, i would recommend the hotel. And would stay again if these things were implemented

We shared feedback about this property, and the staff basically shared that they had received no complaints, meanwhile we shared pictures of dirty towels, dirty sheets, molded bath robes, etc. we selected this hotel because of how close it was to everything, but it turned out to be a nightmare. The resort is fairly old and it is not being taken care of properly. Rooms that aren’t being used, they are not throughougly cleaning them, maybe because they don’t think that anyone will check the sheets and bed. One of our couples LEFT, found a new property and met with us every day. We tried to get a refund to find a new property and were told “no complaints had been filed, even after sharing pictures”.

I’ve stayed here many times over the last ten years and I’m surprised by the decline of the hotel. Ceiling leaking during a rain storm. In order to get warm water I was advised to let the tap run for 15 minutes which is so wasteful. Rooms are run down and over all the hotel is not clean. The staff is still friendly and nice but they don’t have much to work with sadly. This will be my last stay at the Lokha Ubud.

The staff did a good job at remembering my name during my stay and my birthday. The hotel food is limited and okay at best for the price. The food at the luxury hotel in the village is much better and top notch. I did not smell cleaning supplies at anytime during my stay; instead smelled urine in the bathroom around the base of the toilet that has never been cleaned and sanitized. The smell in the property bathrooms is very bad. Do not book the hotel tours; the service is lack luster. I had one driver be sexually inappropriate during my tour of Ubud and expected me to pay for his meals after paying 900,000 rupiah for the tour. I was charged 1,000,000 rupiah for the Uluwatu tour even though the listed cost is 900,000 rupiah. The driver seemed as if he was uninterested in taking me to the places I was most interested in. Do yourself a favor a find a local driver who will be kind and take you on a tour. Overall, I was disappointed in my stay. The hotel looks nice in pictures but is unsanitary to my standards.

It was very relaxing and probably the best option if you are staying in Ubud. The hotel is a short 10-15 min walk from the central area of the town or a 10 min cab ride / if at night I recommend to take a car as the streets are not very well lit/. The breakfast was great.

The hotel is great, very nice rooms and grounds. Staff are very helpful, the breakfast was really good and there is a great shuttle service to Ubud.
Only down side - would be great if the room fridge - minibar actual worked so you could keep drinks/milk/water cold. It was one of those pretend fridges. But the staff were great at bring up an ice bucket when requested. Overall loved our stay and can highly recommend the hotel. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

The property itself is beautiful but there’s something missing. Character? I guess it’s bland. For a hotel out of town, perhaps it needs some. Some little touches and some brightening up. Maybe we are just spoilt by the amazing accomodation we had in Seminyak.

The hotel is situated in a valley, at the end of the Campuan Ridge Walk, surrounded by rice fields and palm trees. We loved sitting in the open air lounge area having drinks, listening to the sounds of nature and watching the odd gecko scale the wall. The hotel also do a weekly fogging to keep mosquitos at bay in the open air areas of the hotel. And we never found the bugs to be an issue during our stay.

You can walk into Ubud town via the ridge walk (25 minutes) which is a beautiful walk and there are a couple of small warungs to get food from on the same road.

We ate at the hotel restaurant a few times and loved the food and mocktails - the Satay Campur and Mie Goreng was a firm favourite - not forgetting the chocolate lava cake! The hotel also offer a free afternoon tea in the lobby (3pm-5pm) which was a lovely touch.

We stayed in a fully air conditioned Suite with beautiful valley views from our balcony and a queen sized bed. The pillows were so comfy! I loved the rainfall shower and the sunken bath.

Every single staff member we came into contact with at the Lokha were all exceptional - especially the restaurant and bar staff. They were all so attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. Staff always greet you with a smile and a hello, even when just passing by.

The Lokha position makes it really hard to leave, so steep to walk out of. The shower was in a very high bath that was scary to get in and out of. The towels had gone grey instead of white. The price of beer was excessive $10 a large bottle. Spa facilities expensive even to use the sauna. Nothing open at night nearby and I’m fairly sure there’s no money changer.

The staff were fantastic. Our Villa was spotless. Very quiet and private and lovely Balinese architecture, with lovely natural outlook.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough! The staff are polite and welcoming, the pool and spa are great. Food was lovely and fresh and good options to cater for all. We really didn’t want to leave, it’s just the perfect place to relax in the forest. Takes around 12/15 mins to get to Ubud and regular free shuttles available from the hotel. There are also a few nice walks and sights to see just outside the hotel itself which is nice - very peaceful. Would stay here again without a doubt!

Beautiful property with exceptional service. We would stay here again. The staff was very warm and welcoming. It was amazing to come back to an air conditioned room. The restaurant and breakfast was delicious. Free yoga class was a great perk! I loved staying here.

It was great! Very clean and peacful.
The only thing was that people coming from the ridge walk were dipping their feet with shoes on. It was disgusting- nothing the hotel can do but maybe put a sign up. I shoes on the pool? I’ve asked the people to rise their shoes At The showers steps away if they wanted to wash their shoes and feet. The pool is not the appropriate place for that.

Amazing little gem in the jungle. If you’re looking to get away from crowds and do some R&R this is the place. Staff friendly, cocktails delicious, rooms clean and comfortable, beautiful views of the jungle, food great! I can only say great things about this hotel.

Good Hotel but poor Restaurant

Superb hotel, a little too far out from Ubud but let down by a poor Restaurant. The individual villa with private plunge pool was outstanding.
