This was such a cute little place to stay. We were looking for a tour of the island without having to go back into the city and the front desk staff were very helpful in finding us an English speaking guide.

There’s not a lot around to walk to as far as restaurants go, but we did partake in the 2 closest ones to our hotel and both restaurants were excellent.

It is a very cute property woth palm trees and hanok houses to rent. But... way too off downtown to be walkable and most dramatic, the bed was the worst we ever slept in, hard as a rock. Even by adding 2 layers of futons on it, it was painfull for our backs. Maybe Koreans used to sleep on a floor or futons wouldn’t mind, but for Westeners, a bed like that was horrible. Unfortunately, that pretty hotel is the one single mistake in a 2-weeks trip we won't do again if one day we come back to Korea. On the up-side, there is a black pork small BBQ restaurant, 10 minutes walk on the same street, down left from the proterty, next to a CU convenience store. That is the only walkable restaurant in the area, but it is a very good one, we went there 2 times.

The rooms were remodeled in 2025, very clean. They have a laundry room which was great, but they were coin operated. We had zero cash/wons and it took 2 hours to find an ATM that I could get money from! There is a waterfall across the street, but not a lot walking distance. We rented a car while on the island.

The hotel was easy to find--but way out in the middle of Seogwipo which is much more rural. So if you want the quiet and the country-ish feel. This is it but nothing is within walking distance. Beautiful place, I wanted the traditional feel --but it has modern amenities. Clean and comfortable. Note--there is nobody at the front desk past a certain hour and they do not speak english. So, bring your apps. But it's a beautiful property!

Jeju Hanok Hotel is a great place for someone wanting to experience staying at a traditional Hanok house, with modern day conveniences. The house was spacious, clean and loved how easy we can adjust the boiler to warm the floor just the way we like it. It was private and quiet, and free Hanbok rental is available. If we had more time, I would've loved to try the hanboks and take photos because it was the perfect place to do so in a backdrop of traditional houses without the crowd.

My only wish is that shower would be improved because the shower head wouldn't stay in place and it was at an awkward angle, so showering was a bit difficult.

The breakfast available was healthy, tasty and clean . It would be nice to have a wider selection though.
Staff members are available 24/7 and we're very polite and professional.

We stayed in one of the self-contained units by the pond. We stayed during the late summer and experienced no mosquitos unlike other reviews. We could tell that the hotel had installed anti-mosquito measures including bug zappers. The staff were very friendly. We borrowed hanbok at the reception and took our own photos. The location is great and convenient to access Seogwipo and walking routes along the south coast. The convenience store on-site was a good price and contained a variety of items. Staff members were so friendly and when we had a requirement (for example to order food delivery in Korean) then the staff would help us out because our Korean was not very good. Thank you!

Like Preserving the traditional hanok style: love the ambiance, Definitely an Experience! . Love that you can wear hanbok & do a pictorial. Great AC. Clean. Quiet and calming. Beautiful gardens!

Easy to call for taxis.

No restaurant in hotel so if one comes in late, not convenient to go out. But they are building one.
Opens at 8am. Earlier than that, the tables/ chairs are not available as there is no lobby.
Have to use Google translate as staff does not speak English.
Found out that I can’t sleep on futon beds- comfortable but hard to get up! (From a senior!)

All in all, highly recommended for the experience.

The pictures dont do this hotel justice . It was a very lovely hotel especially the grounds. The softness of bedding is something that isnt easy to get used to. Would have been nice to have the option of different bedding. But when asked for more. It was given no problem. Freezer/fridge could have been colder but these are minor inconveniences which dont take away from the unique experience. Loved the free hanbok rental too so much fun.

It is quite a walk away from the city core so make sure you bring dinner home with you if need a variety of options. Options within 20mins of the hotel walking is limited

Absolutely gorgeous place! One of the very few places left in Korea that gives you an authentic and beautiful experience. It is within walking distance from a beautiful waterfall, one of the main attractions on the island. The rooms are wonderful, the heated floors are so comfortable, the staff is very kind and you can run traditional clothing for free to take beautiful photos. we had a wonderful stay there, I would absolutely recommend.

They gave us a free room upgrade, the hotel and our room is beautiful, the free hanbok hire was fun. You do need to do a bit of walking to get to most of the nearby food, and one of the faucets wasn't working properly (but still working), but overall, our stay was fantastic.

The main building doing renovation during our stay, we stay in a Hanok a house by it own, specially well maintained. The mattress a bit thin maybe because Spring season so that we will not feel too hot. Inside the Hanok we don't even need to on Aircon cos the temperature outside is like 20-19c just open the windows cool wind so nice. Best point is free rental of Habok to wear for photo shoot with the beautiful landscape and Hanok.

Beautiful compound and helpful staff.

The compound was so beautiful. We are rarely in awe with our hotels, but Hallagung really blew us away. We stayed in a 2nd floor room and wake up to the beautiful view of the coast from far. The traditional architecture really helped enrich our Korean experience. The staff was also so helpful, able to converse in chinese. We needed a cab in very early hours, the owner woke up very early (even when their front desk was closed) to help us call for cab as there was no pre-booking cab service. It is walking distance a few nice cafes and a convenience store. The nearest bus stop does not have many services, but a short walk will bring you to more services.

The hot water wasn’t working, so I had to shower with cold water. Later, I realized that the hot water only works when turned on separately.
The hanbok provided for photos was very dirty.
For a hotel, the cleanliness and the professionalism of the front desk staff were disappointing.
Even with a lot of luggage, there was no bellboy to assist.
Considering the price, the staff service felt very lacking.

Chambre parfaite et en très bon état. L’hôtel est charmant. Le personnel est sympa et serviable. Très pratique la laverie dans l’hôtel pour 3000 Wons on peut faire sa lessive. Nous n’avons pas pris le petit dej car c’etait soit du porridge ou des soupes ce qui est normal en Corée.

Sehr schöne Zimmer mit individuellem Flair, in toller Umgebung.
Da alles frisch renoviert war, war der Zustand Top. Frühstück war mittelprächtig, haben wir deshalb nur einmal genutzt. Sehr praktisch ist aber die Cafebar und der kleine „Supermarkt“ mit dem nötigsten.
Wer größer ist, sollte besser im Erdgeschoss der Hanoks buchen, da die Türen im 2F sehr niedrig sind.
