This is my second time staying at this hotel, and I would say it is excellent. The location is very convenient, with Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, the largest shopping mall in Tainan, right next door.
The breakfast was impressive, offering a wide variety of choices. I especially loved the authentic local dishes. Another highlight is the housekeeping staff, they are hardworking and very helpful whenever I need assistance.

As for areas that could be improved, the elevators can be quite busy during peak hours. It takes around 8–10 minutes to travel from my room on the 11th floor to the ground floor.
Additionally, some staff members could be more attentive to customer needs. For example, when I paid for laundry services and requested an invoice, I was given one with an incorrect amount.

I’m very happy with this hotel and really enjoyed my stay. The cleanliness is well maintained, and the modern design and facilities are excellent. It’s very convenient, located right next to a shopping mall. Most importantly, there are many local traditional foods nearby, all within walking distance.

We did not like it. The property was not well maintained, the bathroom shower was not cleaned and the staff was not really helpful. We moved to another hotel.
It looked like a 3 star hotel. The pictures are deceiving on the Internet.

Room could have been vacuumed better but otherwise it was very nice. Big and modern, air conditioning worked really well and there was a dehumidifier which was nice, and the snacks left in the room were tasty. Staff was friendly and helpful, provided good recommendations for nearby restaurants.

Clean room. During check-in, i had asked for another pillow. The staff were very professional and managed to have it delivered within 5 mins of me entering my room.
The pool is closed daily between 12pm-1.30pm. I went for a swim at about 11.30am and the staff had respectfully informed me of the closure and to ensure i was done before then.

It's hard to believe that this hotel is only 7 years old. Lots of wear and tear. Staying in a family room with two queen-size beds on the 11th floor. The bed was clearly well slept on; the springs showed signs of tiredness. The laminate floor had two big loose pockets, hollow underneath the floor. We stayed at the hotel 3 years ago when it was only 4 years old; there were stains on the hallway carpet. The bedroom is clean enough, but the toilet had a hint of urine smell. The breakfast has plenty choices, as usual in Taiwan hotels, the beacons were not the American crispy pan fried style, but steam soaked in water. Apart from that, abundant choices . staff is friendly
We Probably will try other hotels next time we're in Tainan.

Overall, the stay was fine, but not great. We had two rooms, one for us + kids, the other for sister in law. No major issues with our room but sister in law's room toilet leaked - that's why overall 3 stars.

Pros:

Nice, spacious rooms (notwithstanding leaky toilet)
Price/value was reasonable
Gym was nice, pool was great (kids loved it)
Free parking

Staff helpful and polite

Cons:
Wife unimpressed by the cleanliness. I thought it was pretty clean.
None of us slept well. I think because 1) they only had fairly thick blankets so you either had to blast the AC, or turn it quite low and basically not use the blankets, and 2) pillows were not comfortable.
Booked for two adults, with breakfast for two adults. We had our three kids with us (10, 6, 4). We're used to places including the kids for free or half price. They based it on height, and only our 4 year old was free. I suppose that is relatively reasonable (just a different arbitrary rule that happened to work against our tall kids) but they wanted to charge $630 TWD per person for our two older kids, which in Taiwan would be insanity given how cheap and good and ubiquitous breakfast options are just outside the hotel.

Beakfast was the best I ever have had, huge, but mostly for asian people but I (european) could find a lot to eat. I travel alone so the size of the room was ok I had a dubble bed, perhaps for 2 persons it is too small. I like that tre room had a balcony. The pool is big. The lobby is beatiful. No bottled water but there is water in the corridor so you can fill the big bottle which is in the room. The cleankeeper was very busy and come late when I was already back and needed to rest. I liked the location, it was easy to walk in many places. I would choose Lakeshore Hotel Tainan again if I come back to Tainan.

Staff was great. The room was pretty basic with a some wear showing but it was clean. I was disappointed only two pillows were provided and the towels weren’t the best quality but they were clean. I think this hotel is a great value and I wouldn’t stay here again but my girlfriend probably wouldn’t.

I was impressed with breakfast buffet. It’s very expansive, run efficiently and food quality is good.

We stayed for six nights in the Deluxe Family Room.

The room was clean, and the lobby and reception staff were somewhat friendly. They did not smile much or speak in a particularly warm tone, but they were professional and did their jobs without making guests feel uncomfortable.

The amenities were good. There is a gym, an outdoor swimming pool, and an indoor sauna. The outdoor pool water temperature was about 19°C, even though the outdoor temperature was around 26°C, so it is likely not usable during the winter season. However, the indoor sauna facilities were available and well equipped, including both wet and dry saunas, a hot tub (39–40°C), and a cold tub (13–14°C). The sauna areas for men and women were separate.

One thing to note is that children under 16 are not allowed in the sauna area at all. We stayed with a 7 year old child, so my husband and I either had to take turns using the sauna or skip it, as taking turns every day took quite a bit of time.

We prepaid for breakfast, and it was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from. The cleaning staff was very friendly, and the location was also very convenient, right next to a Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
