Worst place we have stayed in NZ for our 14 days holiday. And price is the not cheap. Strong smoke smell in the room. Door lock is not working well, hard to open from inside. Bathroom is so so dirty. Lots of black stuff in the bathtub. Stains on sink, towels and bed sheets. Chairs so dirty. Saw some insects in the bathroom. I just hope they did wash their beddings and towels properly. Also we can hear music from other rooms at night. So disgusting, feeling so distressed that has to staying here for a night.

The property is dated. Thankfully the bed was comfortable enough to make me overlook the downside of the bathroom. The shower is very much like the hospital shower room. Sound proofing isn't that great as I can hear people running outside. Towels do have stains on them.

The room was big and spacious and enough space for a family of five. Kitchen was stocked with utensils, pots and pans for simple cooking during our stay there.
It was summer and the weather was hot. The air con didn't reach the top level so it was very hot even during the night. Would be nice if a fan could be provided. There was some stains on the beddings so cleaning can be improved but otherwise our family had a great stay.

The pool was lovely, very basic accommodation and rooms need cosmetic update, stained carpet and very budget kitchen utilities. Ants all around in the kitchen at night. The bed was comfortable and the private outdoor area was nice.

It also is in need of a good clean as the floor left our freshly showered feet black and was sticky (plus shower mat came off the ground covered in dark marks). The beds were clean and comfortable but the towels and face cloths were stained and not clean. When we washed dishes and cleaned down the kitchen sink, mould flicked out of the kitchen drain with the brush.

The only good thing i can say about the room was it was nice and big and you could open a sliding door out to a small outdoor courtyard. It was very neglected, there was a terrible smell quite alike to a smell you get when entering a resthome, the pillow cases had stains. The shower head would not stay up. The owners door knocked after 9 am when check out was at 10 so not sure what that was about as a different language was being spoken. It did seem as if repairs/maintainance was starting.

We had stayed here a long time ago, so we’re disappointed that our standard studio was tired, with chipped countertop & furniture, and in need of a good scrub from the top of the microwave top, to window frames, to the vinyl floor edges, and net curtains were torn.
Room amenities listed are incorrect - no full-sized fridge/freezer (an influence in choosing this accommodation), it was under-bench-size; no fan; no DVD player; and the couch sinks towards the middle. The shower listed is over a corner bath (is that the private hot tub listed??). The kitchenette is sparsely appointed with mismatched mugs, no side plates, a two-burner electric cooktop, and 3 pots (no pans), + a microwave.
The check in seemed rushed with no chat until she replied to us to be polite. Check out similar.
We won’t be recommending this place unless the cleaning & maintenance improves.

It had a lot of space which made it easy for a wheelchair to get around. The walk in shower was awesome. The water drained away and didnt go everywhere when you had a shower. Also the bed wasnt too high so it made it easy for someone in a wheelchair to get on the bed. Definitely recommend.

We spent three nights there and absolutely loved it. Our experience was fantastic, and we appreciated everything about the place. Although it isn't new, they have done a great job maintaining it. The service was excellent. We originally booked for five people but changed our reservation at the last minute. We informed the staff, so I only paid for the four of us and kept the same family room I booked. It is very convenient and closer to the Splash Planet. I recommend this hotel to anyone planning to go for a holiday in Hasting.

The bathroom had mould in the corner edge of spa and dirt on skirtings in bathroom a few holes in the wall by the door and by TV one was patched up the other one by the door was not the table outside where we could sit was rusted and deteriorating broken around edges of table and sharp. We were meant to just have a queen bed in our room I did ask for two singles they were nice enough to add a single bed so we had a queen and single no extra charge which was nice.

I had a terrible nights sleep by being woken by the sound of an alarm going off from 5am all morning repeatedly from the room next door, paper thin walls and I thought the phone had been left inside my room and I started looking for it (that’s how thin the walls were). We paid for our family to stay for three nights at a total of $1499! For this amount of money we expected a high quality establishment.
Unfortunately I was disappointed from check in, you would think with five people we would get at least two little milks upon check in so everyone can have a hot drink in the morning. But no it was still your standard one, even though we paied extra to have five people?
The room itself was a good size with a nice tv. Thats where it ends. Beds- absolutely awful. Great a dishwasher! But no dish powder to use it 🤔

The shower leaked, the shower liner was all cracked and when we turned the jets on for the ‘spa bath’ it smelled so bad we couldn’t even use it. The toilet wasn’t fixed in place properly and moved. There was some sort of sticky residue all down the cuboard door where the hinges are. There was only three large plates allocated, so our $500 a night didn’t even allow us to all eat together??? I requested a refund for the last night since we had to pay for a play elsewhere due to the let down of their facilities, but have yet to receive a response. Not impressed.

This motel was really below my expectations for what we paid. Everything was old and worn, with multiple things broken. The receptionist was also never at the desk. It appeared that it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while and huge stains on the carpet, also ants everywhere. No aircon was upstairs, only a tiny fan so it was really hot.

The toilet seat slipped every time you sat on it. The heated towel rail wasn’t working (on check out I was told there was another switch aside from the wall switch that was needed to operate it) and the floor in the bathroom had black hair over it which could only be seen when the floor was wet. The tv reception was pretty fuzzy and while the note on the tv said to turn it on from the back the switch was actually underneath the tv. Was very disappointing especially given how expensive our 3 nights were :-(
