lovely place to stay in Ahuriri

Fabulous having the spa queen with sea view as it felt so restful. Sadly people returning late on Saturday night with raucous chatting and a distressed woman whose date didn't turn out so well woke us up.
Really nice to have plunger coffee although sadly ran out of green tea and there were none to be had in the entire motel when I asked for a swap with the lemon tea which was supplied to our unit in abundance.
Very close to Shed 2 a gastropub that out performed the gastropub we visited recently in Waikanae. Shed 2 has amazing food and the prices are reasonable.

One night stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Spa bath was ok. Great location with great bars and eateries a minutes walk away. A couple of minutes from the airport.

I stayed here during really hot weather so I appreciated the awesome air conditioning. My room had a spa bath which was also awesome. The bed was comfortable and the Wifi was fast. There were lots of restaurants within walking distance and it was nice to look out the room window and see the marina. I was too scared to make toast because there was a sign next to the toaster that said it could set off the fire alarm and then I would have to pay $NZ500!

Could not use any product in bath, they dont like cleaning , got ready for spa bath and found NO towels. When they brought them up they were kid size. Worst night sleep was had driving 6 hours after that.

Comfortable beds & superfast check in

Drove in & had room keys in hand in no time at all. Welcoming staff & happy to help you out. Had 2 units, asked that one had a small bed in it for a young grandchild & it was all there and set up. Comfortable beds & a spa bath & plates utensils etc. A 4 Square store (NZ version of a mini supermarket or 7/11) less than 2 kms away which also stocked wine & beer. Lots of cafes & restaurants close by. Would I stay here again? Yes, thank for making our stay enjoyable & giving our friends arriving the next day an early check in.. appreciated by all.

Very close to local bars and nice view from room. Planned to watch the rugby and local bar and didn't want to worry about drinking and driving. However I wished I left my car and the hotel carpark as I ended up getting a $60 parking ticket which I was not aware of as a reserved carpark. But overall highly recommend this hotel. Nice and clean and spacious

Lovely place, but wet carpet meant a musty smell.

The carpet in the kitchen was damp, therefore there was a yukky smell in our unit. We went into other units and they were fine. I think the Anchorage is really lovely and you can tell it must have been a premium location to be in its day, but it is looking a bit tired now. Maybe a decor lift would make a huge difference.

Did the good outweigh the not so good?

This was a real mixed bag.
The WiFi didn't work, the air con was temperamental, and building in some sound-proofing for the trains that go past all night would have led to a better nights sleep.
All that said, the staff were friendly, it is close to some nice restaurants and cafes, it has onsite parking, plus there is a picturesque harbour walk right outside your door.

This hotel was in a great location for us. Everything was great. My only criticism is that the woman on the front desk who checked us in was very abrupt and not very friendly. I don't think that she mentioned to be but maybe that is her personality. Not the best for a first impression.

Great Location!

A comfortable (if a little dated) place to stay in a great location, very close to a selection of bars and eateries. WIFI was good. Unfortunately there were some rowdy guests partying until late that made it unpleasant for others. Also we could hear rather loud snoring in the middle of the night from an adjacent unit.

Nice motel near the boat marina

We enjoyed our stay. A large comfortable & spacious room. Handy kitchenette. Loved the balcony and chairs outside our room with a view right down \"West Quay\" boat harbour. Good Sky TV channel selection. Comfortable bed. Nice hot shower. Good A/C for the warm days. Room, carpet and bathrooms a little dated.
