Ahuriri is a small boutique village 5 minues drive from the Napier CBD. East Pier in Ahuriri offers a lovely location with the rooms having ocean views with free on site parking. Studio room was spacious and the bed so comfortable. On site restaurant is ideal for those who dont want to venture out for all their meals. There are plenty of good restaurants, cafes and bars in walking distance of East Pier or you can drive into the CBD (5 minutes) if preferred or to one of the many wineries around the district. Check-in and check-out was easy. Staff were friendly and helpful. On site storage for bikes was ideal for us, as were the handy bikes trails.

The room was very comfortable and very quiet. Restaurant and bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful, unfortunately I didn’t like that it was a sports bar setting and the meals were limited in selection and some dishes seemed a little pricey.

Would have liked to give 5 stars, but....

Our check-in was delayed in the reception - not fault of the adm in lady, but.... it was dissappointing considering we had plans that afternoon - and that wait time chewed into what we had hoped to have time to do.

The room (ground floor with 'ocean' view) was lovely, the bed super comfy, the view to the inner waterway (not ocean) was good enough. Bathroom was a good size but the shower pressure was very poor. Good to get 4 towels even though we didn't use all of them.

Kitchenette was small but functional for our one night needs. The night was long - party time for the guests close by on their balcony - they talked really loud right till 2 or 3 in the morning. No fault of the hotel, but it would have been nice to have had a phone number to ring to get someone to tell them to shut up! A long sleepless night.

We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant so can't comment on that.

Modern, attractive accommodation in an excellent location right next to the sea. Lovely views and fast access to walking/cycling trails. Rooms are clean and attractive. All have a balcony. We did not eat at the hotel as there are many good, local options. It is a good price point and works well for visiting area attractions if you have a car.

All round excellent experience in Napier. Warm welcome from owner who runs a great hotel on the seafront. Spotlessly clean with spacious sea facing rooms.
Close to some excellent restaurants and within a short walk to the Art Deco city centre

Our room was nice, there was not enough toilet paper or towels, as well as needing to ask for more, the book with instructions was hard to read due to being old and it would be more convenient if the room had a sink. Also the sliding door in the bedroom was covered in seagull poo, didn’t make for viewing out, also the guests down below in the restaurant early were extremely loud, difficult to sleep through, overall a good stay

I thought they had room service. It's not a big deal but we went out for drinks and to watch a game and I didn't have dinner. So when we got back to the room at about 11:00 I thought I could order room service and it's not an option.

A bit of a mixed bag.

We booked a room that was a titled \"Family Suite that has 2 bedrooms\". It was for 3 of us including my elderly father. The room was not a suite, just 2 adjoining studio rooms with door between and no separate bedrooms. One thing that mostly decides if I like a place or not is the qualify of my sleep. My room my wife & were in, had 2 beds and a total of 8 pillows. These were all very fat pillows & as I would rather have a thinner pillow, (my Father thought the same), it was very uncomfortable trying to get some sleep. The beds are impressively thick, but offer little back support, so my back is suffering. The place has a restaurant & bar, apparently good, but we were shut out of it mid Sunday afternoon for staff training & the restaurant closed to guests for the night, (room service available). If you are running staff session on mixing cocktails & only a couple of guests left in the bar, why not offer a complementary cocktail. On returning to our rooms on day 2 (stayed 2 nights/3 days), found one of our rooms unserviced, they embarrassingly got it serviced, but failed to empty the bathroom rubbish bin. The privacy lock on our bathroom was broken.
With no seperate bedrooms, I was unable to sit up late & watch sport on TV as I had hoped. I'm still trying to figure out a snacks charge on my bill which I've paid for.
If I stayed there again (probably unlikely) I would just order 2 rooms seperately & get myself the very best room they had for myself & take my own pillow.

Manage to get the best room, wrap around balcony with the most amazing views, lovely comfortable king bed, and very quiet, room had everything required and more. Room service very prompt and all staff were efficient and friendly.

Couldn't fault the place besides the fact that the in room book states room service available until late, however when we phoned at 9.30pm to order dessert, we were told the chef had just gone home. We wouldn't consider 9.30pm on a Friday to be late. Overall though, was a lovely place to stay.

The view is always great, however very disappointed in the Restaurant (again), order a platter for $40 and unfortunately it was not very nice, presentation was terrible and taste was not pleasant, I did pass on feedback to staff, hopefully this got relayed to the kitchen and so on.
