We chose this hotel so we could walk the 15-20 minutes to the Rome tennis open at the Foro Italico in May. It was a great choice. They have a great breakfast spread from 7am to 10am. The
only drawback was that the air conditioning in our room did not seem too effective. We were glad that the days were warm, but the nights were cool so we could sleep with our window open on the second floor. Other than that, it was a fantastic place to stay with great restaurants and shops all around. The staff was super friendly. Loved our stay. ❤️

Property was in nice residential area with good dining options. Even though in suburbs there was a tram that was only 15 mins to main area. Staff were pleasant and very helpful
Only issue was size of room. The double room was very small and meant litttle storage and no space for 2 people to move around room. Would advise booking a triple room to get more space as these were definitely bigger.

Loved the location in a little cul de sac. Well maintained, very clean, great staff, delicious breakfast, comfortable. The only thing that could be improved is to have a password protected WiFi. There is WiFi but it isn’t protected. Also I didn’t have much cellphone signal there, which isn’t their fault but makes a secure WiFi system all the more important.

NICE HOTEL OFF THE BEATEN PATH

This is a nice little hotel that is spotlessly clean. I must note that it is a distance from the city center, so you must catch a bus or a tram right down the street to get to most places that you will want to visit. There are about ten or so stops before you reach the main area of Rome. If you are good with that, then this is a fine place to stay. It is in a more residential area, but there a restaurant and a cafe across the street and they’re both good places to eat and with very friendly staff. Breakfast is offered in this hotel, which is convenient and the entire staff is very friendly. I must mention that the first room offered to my daughter and me was unbelievably small. We could barely turn around in it. We immediately asked for a larger room and were accommodated to a normal sized bright room, which was very comfortable.

Relaxing & very very comfortable. A little bit far from the city centre to walk to tourist attractions but it is well served by local tram & bus services. The Uber facility in the hotels.com app served very well. The average price for an uber to the center of Rome only €14. less if you share.

Room size is very small, doesn't look like a size shown on the site. We can hear other neighbours around our room. Room temperature was too warm and cannot adjust it (remote was) broken. Friendly and informative staffs. Breakfast was just fine, not many choices. Good location, a min walk to a tram stop but 15-20 mins walk to Flaminio underground station/ Piazza Puopolo. Best price and very happy during my stay to celebrate Christmas here...

good location in respect to getting to all sights.

Plesant small hotel, nothing to flash, dirty surrounding area but nice restaurants nearby if needed. Well located, bus and tram 1 minute away, 15 min walk to metro if you don't want to catch bus or tram (Very busy)
Only downside to our stay was booking a double room and getting a twin. Nothing changed despite telling reception on 4 different occasions .

We were there when Rome was experiencing the worst of hot weather in 60 years ! and the aircon in our triple room was ineffective. And it didn't help that the room was very small. When we complained, we were moved to a bigger room, the aircon was marginally better but the room was lovely and spacious. Apart from the that, we enjoyed our stay there. It is not in the central city but well connected to public transport. From Central station bus 910 brings you right outside the hotel. Or you can take Metro Red line to Flaminio Staion and from there you can take a tram... the tram stop is just a couple of minutes from the hotel. The breakfast was really great. The staff at reception very helpful and speaks good english.

Location, service, value in Rome

Extremely good hotel with excellent staff. The rooms are comfortable but not large. They have large beds and en-suite with a powerful shower and all was very clean and tidy. The staff were always friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast room is small but adequate and there is a good variety of food at breakfast. The location is well placed for either the city, being close to a tram stop, or the Stadio Olimpico. Although the hotel bar is small and there is no formal dining, there are plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby and prices are good. Thoroughly recommend the hotel and would go back without hesitation. It is great value.

The hotel its self is situated about a 30 minute walk from the city, we both enjoy walking so this as it was a great way to start the day. The breakfast was just what we needed, constantly topped up and a good selection,the room was a lovely size, very clean with a Jacuzzi bath!, I believe we had been upgraded because on arrival at the hotel like others before we were told that our room was unavailable and that we would be transferred to another of the same grade, the staff were apologetic and arranged everything and we were bought back to villa glori the next morning. Luckily I had read the reviews which meant I was aware this could be a possibility, still at 7 o clock at night when all you want to do is relax it was annoying. I cant fault the staff though, very pleasant and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. I do believe the double booking is a big let down for them and it is something that needs addressing. However I would still recommend this hotel for all the other reasons.

Hotel was very comfortable and quiet. Easy to get to tram across street with easy 5 minute trip to Piazza di Popolo and Metro station. Skip the tram for a 10 minute walk. Good breakfast to start day. Nice, safe quiet neighborhood with good restaurants close by. Affordable and clean! Bathroom with big tub was nice after long day of walking. There were three of us in room (parents and teen daughter) and we had plenty of room for all of us. We stayed on ground floor with nice window on courtyard.

Very disappointing. I would not rate this hotel as a 4 star hotel.
Receptionist were very polite and helpful.
Breakfast was the same everyday not much of a choice we stayed there for 5 days and everyday it was the same. Only hot food was scrabbled egg and bacon which both I don't eat.
Room: I have been to many countries and stayed at many different hotels starting from 3 stars. This hotel was and is the worst hotel that I and my husband has stayed in. To make it worst we were on our honeymoon so yes we are really disappointed.
Room was really small and the bathroom was so small that every time you used the toilet you would hit yourself on the door. Thank goodness we bith were not fat hate to imagine what would have happened.
Location wise yes it is easy to get to.
This hotel I would rate it 2 star not 4 star
Big disappointment never again.

Decent hotel in nice neighbourhood, in a very quiet street. Try to avoid ground floor rooms (20, 30, 40) as they are in fact semi- basement, with no view at all. Ours, room 40, had persistant, strange smell and sort of dampness. Also the floor was not wooden, as shown in the photos, but ceramic tiles, icy-cold. Decor of the room is pleasant and breakfast is good quality, although a bit monotonous for a longer stay.

Hotel is close to tram, but must of the hotel are close to site so you do not need the tram. Hotel was overbooked so they sent of for 2 night out of 5 to another hotel (hotel imperiale). I was the smallest room I have ever seen (including college). Then back at Villa Glori they gave a roomy but very dark room. they try to compensate for the mistake, and try to make our stay better.

We had a great stay except that the WiFi was out the whole time we were there. The staff was good at communicating this. When I told Nicolas in the morning that I would need to use their computer when I returned later that night, he said he would arrange it. We got back so late that the third person was on duty and was unaware of the promise. He said \"No, and we don't have second computer\", actually semi-rude (I knew there was a second computer because had been told that was the one that I could use. I was able to use iot the next day to book a Milan hotel for that night but it was a bit stressful. Otherwise, all the rooms are small (I knew this before based upon reveiws), the stay was fine and the location right near the tram to Piazza del Popolo was great.

DO NOT DRIVE RENTAL CAR IN THIS AREA!! The streets are so narrow, many one-way, you might have to fight tickets because it's a restricted area (although tourists are allowed to drive there, tickets are automatically sent to all license plates). Did over 400E worth of damage to rental car trying to get to the hotel. Arrived after 2am and the man was very nice and even parked our car for us and took us to our room. Other than for driving the location was decent. Many restaurants nearby. Balcony overlooked several.

Great service, but a bit of a walk to town!

Villa Glori is a lovely little hotel on the edge of Rome. The staff were friendly and helpful (advising us not to buy the queue jump ticket for the vatican museum for example, even though they'd make some more money from it!) and breakfast was a good spread. There isn't a great deal around in the local neighbourhood as it's quite residential, but it's about a 20minute walk to the edge of the sights, 30minutes to the Vatican and about an hour to walk to the Colosseum, but for those who don't like to walk you can get a tram or bus too. Rooms are quite small (but ample) but overall, a great hotel!

Overall a good hotel with nice friendly staff. Room was a bit small but I have stayed in smaller and paid more money. The location is close enough to main tourist attractions, but it takes a bit of getting use to the Tram - Train service so check it out before you arrive. Location / area does not look very nice at first glance but there are a few nice nice places to eat and, also a couple of bars close by. Hotel and location not very suitable for young children.

Good hotel with transportation very near

The hotel is situation just 2 mins walk from the T2 tram station which in turn is 4 stops from the Flaminio Station and the tram was quite frequent. This was very convenient to getting to the various places. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and the rooms were quite spacious. The bathrooms were adequately equipped and very clean. We stayed there for 4 nights and there was room service every day though the sheets were changed only one day...i gues that would be the norm.The breakfast was included, it was good but not a proper continental as you would expect. The area around the hotel is quite safe but there is nothing to see around the hotel. The reception was quite helpful with the queries. Overall it was a very good experience and I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is a lovely quiet retreat yet only a very short tram from Piazza del Popolo. If you are staying on business or for a very short trip the restaurants and bars around are great quality so no need to go central if you do not have time. But you are 10 mins from via del Corso etc. As some of the reviews have stated, the rooms are very small and so is the elevator. But first of all, everything is there that you need, decor and furniture of high quality and neatly arranged and how much time do you spend in the room anyway? Many. many hotel rooms in e.g. Amsterdam and Paris are considerably smaller so do not let this put you off. Wifi is free, but the only irritating thing is that the lower-floor rooms' reception to wifi is poor and in my case non-existent so I had to go to reception to use wifi. Only perhaps a problem if you are travelling on business, so ask for a higher-floor room. Otherwise if you are on holiday, stay off the internet and enjoy Rome!

For what we paid for this hotel and what we were reading about hotels in Italy we were not expecting much and were pleasantly surprised. The room was more like what I expect form an american hotel but not quite as big. Very well kept and fancy. It is not in the center of rome but it is really easy to get to and not far at all. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will return. The hotel gives directions on arriving via monorail note that they do not announce the stops on the monorail so it is the first stop after the monorail turns. After you exit you cross the park by going around the back of the monorail then it is just one block the the right and then one to the left. Good breakfast included staff speaks english.

Nice 'Value For Money' Hotel

The hotel is bit far from center but not very far. Tram from flaminio will take 5-10 mins. It was easy to find out the hotel. We came at noon but couldn't get the room immediately as check in time was 14:00. We left our luggage and enjoy the rome rather than wait for our room. We came back after 20:00 and were given a small room. The room was neat and clean. Breakfast was good. Good for us as we were only looking for spending the nights in the hotel.

We spent three nights at Hotel Villa Glori. Overall it was fine and almost worth it's stars. Although beds were extremely hard and there was no help for that even if I asked. The hotel is situated a couple of kilometres away from city center but for us it was okay. It was easy to reach the city with a tram + metros and due to it's quiet neighbourhood we heard no sound of traffic etc. The area had also good + priceworthy restaurants/pizzerias which were growded with locals - nice! The staff was helpful, breakfast good.

I love how it's close by to the trams. Easy to reach the Metro station to get around the city. The rooms are small though. The elevator is so tiny we can barely fit our luggages in there. And on the day we're supposed to check out, the elevator died so we have to carry all our stuff from the stairs. The walls are thin and we can hear someone yelling and singing outside (we think it was someone who works there) There are also tiny stairs separating our room from the corridor which is weird. However, we love how breakfast is included in our stay. Overall, our stay there was average.

Villa Glori in Rome

A lovely hotel, outside of the hustle and bustle of the city but only 5 minutes on the tram to the city centre. The rooms and hotel itself were spotless and decorated beautifully. Breakfast was good too. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends who are travelling to Rome soon.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Flaminio tram line, a kilometer from Plaza di Popolo. It is clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast buffet. There is a charge for wifi, but it is surprisingly well priced with a strong signal suitable for voice or video.

There are a few restaurants nearby, but tourists from America or Asia may be surprised by the extent to which Rome shuts down during the summer months. On a weekend in August, there are few restaurants open within walking distance and no laundromats or convenience stores.

The only downside to the hotel's comfort is that the rooms don't block out noise from the hallway, so light sleepers might be awakened by other guests outside the room, particularly in the early morning.

The hotel was really nice and our room was beautiful! The location is in the midst of the Roman suburbs. It is not near any of any of the tourist attractions so I wouldn't suggest it for tourists. I was traveling with my fiance who is italian and have been to Rome a few times as well so we were both comfortable using public transportation. The train stop was covenient but you did have to ride the train to the metro station and then switch to be able to get on any of the tourist tracks. We also had a car with GPS so that helped with getting to and from the airport.

Hotel Villa Gloria Rome

This hotel was superb, cannot fault it in any way. Decor charming, spotless, and very inviting. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. Set in a quiet leafy suburb of Rome, yet minutes from the centre by a number 2 Tram. Highly reccommend it to anyone visiting Rome.

Wonderful stay in Italy

What a fabulous hotel located in a local area of Italy. A little far away from the tourist area, but located a half block from a tram depot. I just have to mention that the breakfast was off the hook!

Just a B & B hotel but very clean and tidy and well furnished. Bedrooms a bit on the small side but ok for a short break.. Plenty of local restaurants to eat so lack of restaurant in hotel not a problem.

There are no wired ports in the room or anywhere in the hotel for internet access and the WiFi is a joke, don’t bother paying for it. Poor reception, continual disconnections and very slow. It is 2011 people, get your internet figured out.

Villa Glori, convenient but not as advertised

We stayed here twice, one night on our way to Naples and Florence and then two nights again to see Rome. In all the hotel was comfortable but did not seem to be a 4 star hotel as advertised. The pictures are a little deceiving because the hotel is actually very small. The first time we were given a room that was extremely small. There was barely room for luggage for two people. The second time we had a bigger room although we paid the same. The rooms were a little old fashioned. The breakfast was nothing special.

The location was convenient to get in and out of. The tram station was within minutes that takes you to the metro station and you can reach all the attractions from there. Rome metro is pretty cheap and hotel desk has tickets. The staff was helpful and everyone including bell boys spoke english. The cab fare from airport was 50 euros but depending on luggage you can catch a train to main terminal and then use the metro and tram to get to the hotel.

I think a 3 star rating might be better for this hotel but it was still pretty convenient.

Villa Glori - Don't stay here

The hotel looks much better in the photos. I didn't have such a bad experience but the couple from England certainly did who were looking for breakfast which had been running low. I had to change rooms at midnight since it was then that I discovered that the TV and air conditioner didn't work. Not a real problem. Front desk changed my room. The problem was the attitude of the front desk in the morning. While I was checking out the couple from England started. I was looking for only the slightest of favors for the inconvenience of changing rooms at midnight. I was told \"but it wasn't an inconvenience.\" Yes, not a real problem in the world but that's some response.

Breakfast was good - I got there early. And the breakfast staff was helpful. Get what you pay for - a tiny, tiny room. There is a tram that runs from piazza del popolo and stops on the hotel's street. Be sure to know the stop thought - easy to miss. BUT IT'S DEFINITELY NOT FOUR STAR. It's just that there are better options that are closer to the Vatican and Spanish Steps. Those closer hotels would certainly be more convenient.

Although not right in the middle of downtown, the location of the hotel is good - take Tram 2 from Flaminio metro station and get off from Pze Manila. The free shuttle to town is unreliable.

Small rooms - need tram to get to a train station

I wouldn't recommend anyone this hotel for just the above two reasonss...but on top they charged us city tax while it was supposed to be already paid through hotels.com (no other hotel in our trip charged us any additional).

Not a good experience.

lovelly little hotel

The hotel was very clean and tidy, but the bedroom was very small. But we loved the bathroom. We read reviews from other guests before we went and one guest recomended a place to eat opposite the hotel pizza somthing but I cannot remember the secound word. Well it was great, the food was well cooked and it was always full which is a good sign. We did have a problem with our next door neighbours, they came home one night and put their telly on quite loud while we were trying to sleep so we went down stairs and they phoned the people up straight away to tell them lower the volume. No messing. The tram service was great and very cheap, also easy to get to grips with. We will be coming back to Rome in August and will most certainly be booking our stay in this Hotel with Expedia.

Hotel states 10 miles from airport but the taxi fair was 50 euro and was not ten miles. The rooms were tiny but clean. Bed was very hard, after a day sight seeing you want a nice bed to sleep in, so sleepless night not good.

Also they dont stock an iron and ironing board, as it is too dangerous? Using the internet also is expensive.

Not what I expected from a 4 stars hotel.

The hotel is well located, 2 min in tram from Piazza di Popollo and 15 min walking. From Piazza di Popollo there are tube and bus connections for other places in Rome, however there are walking distances to many interes points in Rome.
The downside of the hotel is that it is NOT a 4 stars at all! It is a good 3 stars. It lacks many things, the rooms are small, they forget to put glasses in the room, and aspects of negligence.
Breakfast is quite disappointing as well.

Will meet your needs

Hotel Villa Glori is situated about 15 mins walking distance from the Flaminio Station, so very easy to locate on arrival and even better for visiting the sites. The tram stops just meters away from the hotel and drops you outside the station in less than 5 minutes. The hotel also runs a free shuttle service that takes you into the center of town several times a day which is quite handy. The hotel staff where all pleasant and speak very good english. Although the rooms are small, they are very clean, warm (I was there in December) and comfortable. As stated in other reviews, there are no tea/ coffee facilities in the room and also only 2 english speaking channels on the TV, both of which are news channels. Breakfast was satisfactory although continental, so no fried food or baked beans available. Internet access is available, if like me you choose not to carry your laptop, but be aware that it is not cheap. I booked airport transfers with expedia as part of my booking and it was at lease 60% cheaper than taking a taxi direct from the hotel or picking one up at the airport. Located in a pleasant area, that is quiet and safe and fairly central. Will not hesitate to stay there again on my next trip.

Villa Glori - Rome, Italy

This hotel exceeded all our expectations with service, amenities and comfort. The beautifully decorated room led to a cute patio area and the bathroom had heated towel rack! The entire staff was so helpful, assisting us with booking a taxi to the airport early the following morning and providing us with complimentary shuttle service to the city center/sights which is about a ten minutes car ride. Our stay here was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone.

Will definately reccomend to others and would stay there again. The location was very central. It was easy to get to the main sights. The tram took about 5 minutes and was about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The staff were friendly, the hotel was immaculate and the breakfast was very good.

A little gem.

My husband and I spent three nights at Villa Glori and were delighted with every aspect of it.
It is perhaps a fifteen minute walk from the Piazza de Popolo,which is the beginning of the main city centre of Rome.We found the walk fine but we also took the tram on some days down to Piazza de Popolo which was really convenient as the tram stop was just across the road from the hotel and trams were very frequent(every few minutes).
We bought a 'ROMA PASS' which for three days enabled us to travel unlimited within the city via tram,bus or metro and this cost eleven euros each,which we thought was excellent value.
I have already recommended Villa Glori Hotel to several friends and if we are fortunate enough to reurn to Rome will definately book this hotel without looking at possible others.
This weekend break was for a special birthday celebration and exceeded expectations without a doubt.
