Large, clean, well appointed room and bathroom. The mattress was in good condition (no sagging in the middle or the side). Lighting was good. Blackout curtains provided privacy and insulation against the sun and the air con worked well. Reception was polite, efficient and knowledgeable checking in and out. Several restaurants available within the hotel including an Italian venue with excellent food and service. Bottled water was used in food prep and ice for drinks. No Pharaoh’s curse! A grand hotel located about 15 mins. from the airport but about 45 mins. from site seeing activities. I would definitely stay here again.

My birthday and retirement magical stay in Cario

We had an amazing time at this hotel! Our positive experience started wirh the pick-up at the airport with one of their employees who exceeded expectations by guiding us through the entire airport process and getting us to the hotel safely. Hotel staff were very pleasant, welcoming and accomodating. The hotel itself was very clean and provided a \"home-like\" atmosphere during our 2 week stay. Several staff and departments exceeded expectation to include the congierge/guest services with booking day trips/transportation, and the housekeeping staff who were extremely pleasant and helpful as was the Room Services staff! Room service was delicious and beautifully presented each time. Hotel staff were very gracious and the hotel property itself was safe and secure as we entered and left the property for excursions. There are not enough words to say how Awesome this staff was, they really made our overall experience and stay in Cairo great and safe!

We (3 of us) chose Sonesta as most Heliopolis n Nasr hotels happen to be full (even trying to book directly with 5 options) but was it a nitemare
Internet: horrible n unstable (good luck if there for work n needing this)
Room service n bfast: we tried once each n never did the remaining 6N there
Rpom: walls are thin, i can hear neighbours snoring or their TV, size was OK
Toilet: dark like a horror movie
Service: this was Ok for me
Location: close to airport (15 mins) but otherwise no mans land
We were there for work, there were alot of tourists so business was good, but as individual guests (when season is lull) not worth at all

If i was given another opportunity, wont come back w/o blinking the eyes

Very solid stay at the Sonesta

We enjoyed two nights at the Sonesta Hotel. Check-in and check-out were very easy. The hotel is in a good location to get to and from the airport.

We had one meal at La Gondola restaurant inside the hotel. It was good and the prices were fair.

We also ordered room service for breakfast once and for dinner once. The American breakfast was just ok. For dinner we ordered some chicken quesadillas, and chips with salsa & guacamole. Although not quite what we expected, it was very tasty. The prices for room service were fair.

The room itself was nice and offered us lots of space to spread out. The only issue was with the door to the room; it was a bit difficult to close.

The Wifi worked very well; we were able to stream a movie online with no issues and no delays.

I love sonesta but my last visit was a nightmare . The toilet was leaking the whole night and my son and myself were not able to sleep the whole night. I called them early in the morning complaining and instead of moving me to another room they sent someone to fix it but i have the same problem again so i called them and they moved me to a better room but the new room has a lot of problem. The safe does not work, the sink has problem and the water will leak out when i use the sink, no iron for my clothes and the smell of the bathroom was horrible.it is really bad to see this hotel in this very miserable shape. What a shame.they need a new management to replace the current one.

First time in Africa and visiting Cairo. I was able to arrange pickup from airport late into the evening and had a very nice drive from the airport to the hotel. As a female traveling alone, I felt safe and comfortable. The hotel was very nice and big with different types of people from around the world staying there. I will reserve a room in the future when I return to Cairo.

I already provided this feedback. The rooms are noisy - I could hear conversations in the next room with doors banging at all hours of the night.
Front desk was helpful in accommodating my needs, but sometimes it was hard to get their attention.

Free shuttle service to (and from?) the airport.

Very professional service. Especially the fact that we arrived at 11:00 pm the night before a 7:00 am international flight. There was a 3:00 am wakeup call and the shuttle was waiting at 4:00 am. The fact that the airport shuttle was included for free as part of the room was a positive surprise. Note: Free airport shuttle service wasn't something we even knew about and should be more prominently advertised.

Be gentle with wake up calls

I asked for a wake up call for my room for the shuttle service and was yelled at a few times for being late. I was called with 10 min to spare. I woke up frazzled and ran downstairs only to find that it was just us on the bus. No sure why I needed to be rushed in that way. Otherwise service for checkin was nice and the room was clean and refreshing.

Beautiful property. Staff in lobby totally ignored us. Watched us struggle to lift suitcases down stairs, watched us pull suitcases outside then one employee approached us to load luggages into taxi. We declined his help and told him that they ignored us while we struggled, why pay attention to us now? For a tip?

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Cleaning occurred regularly. Restaurant selection was excellent. Security was excellent. Access to pool was excellent.

The rooms were a bit dated and air con could have been slightly stronger. But beds were comfortable. Wifi signal not very strong.

Overall this was well worth the money and I would definitely stay there again.

Staff is very rude, expect attitudes. No where to get food later in evening (was refused even just a cup of water for a 7 year old). Very snarky attitudes. Don't get a massage- avoid the spa. Husband and I had a very hard time getting an appointment ('we have availability at noon.... Actually 1... Oops sorry there's a \"problem with the room come back at 5pm\" ---literally for about 4 separate attempts). Spa staff was nasty, audible gasps and sighs, yelling at each other in Arabic. It was apparent they didn't want to do services. Manager there was nice but his staff are horrendous. Worst massage I've ever had, very unprofessional. No blanket to cover myself, the masseuse left me alone several times with no explanation. She also gave me a head massage (I paid extra) and I had severe head pain through the following day as she had ripped out a great deal of hair while knotting my hair during the attempted \"massage\". Horrible. Warned the group I was with to not book their services.

where is the bed?

Arrived near 11 PM after 30 hours of travel and it took 1.5 hours to deliver a mattress slab for our triple room. Plus several phone calls to remind them.

There were only 2 bath towels even though we had a room for three.

I had booked the room for three months ago and there is a premium charge.

The hotel was able to accomodate our super early check-in, of course with a fee, as we arrived very early in the day due to the flight awkward time. We had an issue with the room that was assigned to us but upon discussing it with the staff, and customer service, they were able to move us to a better room.

I recommend Sonesta to travelers going to Cairo.

Good hotel not my first time to stay in it. It seems that the rooms are not consistent in their quality even of the same category (queen superior room).

We arrived very early in the day, flight from Toronto landed at 6am, so we were at the hotel at 9am, it was not easy to get a room that early, we needed it t get some rest after the 11hrs flight. The hotel crew was able to fin a room for us by 10:30 am.

The hotel appears to be old worn and torn. Carpets in the room. It may have been a beautiful once but now it really looks outdated and not really worth its price. Its location is not very good for anything except airport transfer. However some of the staff made the stay more memorable with their smiles and happiness.

It’s definitely not a 5 star hotel. The first room given to us was on the 2nd floor and it was absolutely disgusting. There were white stains on and around the bed and lamp stand, the lamp head was out of place, the floors were so dirty you couldn’t walk without shoes, and the room was very hot and dusty you needed a mask to breathe safely. We complained and they said they’d give us a better room. After an hour of waiting we were extremely fed up and spoke to them again. They weren’t taking us seriously until we showed photos and spoke with them a THIRD time (extremely upset), at which point they gave us a new room within 5 minutes. The new room was cleaner but still had little spots and stains but we just wanted a room. They said they’d send bellhop to get our bags but after 10 minutes of waiting I went and got the bags myself. The hotel is generally run down and in dire need of renovation. Customer relations would call us every other day to make sure we weren’t having other issues and sent us a fruit basket, which was nice. We did have other issues though, I had to go to concierge every day 4-5 times to reprogram my card because the door wouldn’t unlock. We eventually ended our stay and went to a different hotel.

The staff kept arguing that my 13 years old son is an adult and that we should pay extra money
After 24 hours trip we spent one hour waiting at the front desk to find some one to check us in.

reported it to reception 3 different times, was told it will be fixed shortly.
couldnt shower on arrival or before bed or in the morning
had to take a cold shower before check out as it was my last chance for one before travel.
they wouldn’t allow me to have visitor (whom I had brought some gifts in my luggage from my travel) as it was “outside visiting hours” they humiliated my guest until they confirmed that I am a foreign national- then and only then was it okay- but after his ID was kept. incredibly dissatisfied with this stay I should have booked yet another night at Safir- I figured I’d get closer to the airport since my partner had to leave to the airport at 4 am(before i did later that day). not to mention for the same nightly rate breakfast is not included. Myriam was the only professional out of the reception staff. respectful, understanding, communicative. I will be contacting customer service in regards to not being able to shower at a “5 star hotel”.

The hotel needs a complete renovation, there was no designated smoking area it was unbearable to breath and eat. Not kids friendly, if you suffer from upper respiratory issues this hotel is definitely not for you. I would not recommend, this hotel deserves 2.5 star.

The staff is absolutely amazing. They are very accommodating and Attentive to your needs. I dealt with Fadi at the reception desk and Basem at the luggage concierge.
My incoming flight was delayed and Fadi did so much to accommodate me. Basem took care of my luggage while I explored the town after check out

I requested 2 connected rooms while booking through the app, and the hotel confirmed the availability but during check in they refused to let it be 2 connected rooms under the condition of what the receptionist called \"Rules\"!!
For sure I respect the rules, but why did the hotel confirm my special request !?
I didn't have time to find another nearby hotel.

The heater (AC) is not working, just cold air and the weather was already super cold.

Overall this hotel is fair in quality but not the best.

I don't think I will come again and for sure I will not recommend it.

The shuttle service to the airport is good. The room was of average quality. The sofa cover looked worn out. The pool area was disappointing, and needs renovation. They charge high fees for services such as printing/scanning. Overall, this property did not meet our expectations, given the price we paid for it.

Staff was not friendly at all we got there 2:am I poked 2 rooms rooms was not cleaned at all dust was all over, looked like no one been there for 2 long , I asked the manager to change the rooms he refused and told us if I need to change rooms I have to rebooked from them for $169 a night at booking was $79 dollars. I asked him then I’m go somewhere else I need to cancel booking he said he will charge me for canceling booking . I told him you charge me I know how to get my money back !! He just looked at me and smiled then said it’s gun be hard to find a room at 2:am in the morning I told him I rather sleep outside better then the room that I’m going to pay $79 or $169 .. I booked right a way in a better clean and new hotel with $60 dollars. I do not recommend this hotel at all for anyone they take advantage especially if not from Egypt…. I hop to get some explanation from the management team soon !!!

The hotel is very old and not renovated at all.
I was requested none smoker room with baby coat for my baby, once checked in they gave me a room and found it amoker room with very bad smoking smell. Once got back to the reception instead to replace it immidiatly they said its ok, we can open the windows and use air fresher :-(, i refused and thwn the replaced the room.
Later on after called them 2 times they brought a big bed which cant be fit inside thw room and they said baby coat not available

I don’t know how they said it’s 5 star hotel. It’s not that’s clean, every thing is old.

Funny thing, I was bringing food from out side, they asked me to sign a paper that this food is under my responsibility, it’s ok, I sign the paper.
Then the man told me next time bring door for us.
