The breakfast was included in our booking, I thought it would just be a continental one but we could chose anything from the menu. We were actually the only people staying on a cold night in winter but the staff made an effort to make us welcome. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, the chef made the best scrambled eggs I've ever had with chopped chives that really elevated the dish.
Bar and meal on the night we arrived were also excellent. Room comfortable and warm, shower hot and with good water pressure. Thoroughly recommend this place, a lovely traditional British pub.

A very lovely pub in a picturesque village. Spacious rooms, friendly staff, very good food and a broad selection of wines and beers. I arrived just in time for the last dinner order, thankfully. Breakfast was included in my stay and was also very nice. The pub is very homely, warmly lit and has a classic village inn feel. The bathroom in my room could probably benefit from a slight cosmetic improvement but that is a minor point on what was overall a pleasant but brief stay.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, and the service was absolutely amazing. Thea was fantastic and really made the experience special. The food was great, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The personal touch throughout the stay was a breath of fresh air.

A lovely stay at the greyhound.Staff really helpful special mention for Thea who was bright and cheerful every morning. Breakfast was excellent and we really enjoyed our dinner one evening. Had lovely weather so able to sit outside under the grape vines. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Main issue is that my room absolutely reeked of tobacco. My \"non smoking room\" was definitely a smoking room at some point. I choked from the moment I arrived. After 48 hours all of my clothes smell horrible and I have to be in the UK for work for another three days. I could leave the windows open, but giant spiders were coming in. No other source of ventilation. The property desperately needs to re-do the carpet, wall paper, everything. I hate leaving this review because the place is otherwise charming and this inn seemed much better than the nearby hotels my friends were staying in. But until this problem is fixed, avoid the \"Teddy\" room. I'm going to be searching for febreeze.
The other issue is that every time I tried to order food that wasn't breakfast, I was told the kitchen was too busy. There are no other food options for miles. So bring some snacks - I wish I did! It's doubly disappointing because the food on the website looks absolutely fantastic.

We only stayed one night in a double room with en-suite in Hattie’s House which is a building across the car park and had a wonderful evening meal in the pub itself.The interior of the pub was exceptionally warm and inviting. The breakfast was good also.

Don’t ever write reviews but felt I had to here. Room felt very unclean and smelled horrible. This was a mixture of dog and damp from the mould that is all over the bathroom floor. Wifi was non existent.
On the positive side the restaurant is lovely, the food was very good. The care of the room let’s the place down.

This was a lovely find! We planned a last minute trip to do some walks in the area. This place was perfect for us - the room was basic but clean and really comfortable, the staff were all friendly, it’s a lovely location and the food is excellent. We’d definitely go again.

The one night stay was good. The owner was very apologetic that the pub & restaurant was closed, however all i needed was a room to get my head down so it definitely served its purpose. I will probably stay again when working in the area and hopefully the restaurant will be open and i can have breakfast!

There was a nice range of toiletries in the bathroom and the hospitality tray held a good selection of teas & coffee.

Location for me was good, previous 2 years were very good... but... this visit was very disappointing! Staff were quite rude to be honest... no help what so ever. Room was very \"musty\" and damp feeling.. advise on customer service.. welcome your guest and open windows of room to air! Food menu lacked choice... no kids menu.. no pub food.. 2 families left when i was where and said they would find somewhere better! I checked out early as no food on a sunday evening!

A little small, but I know larger rooms are available (just not within my business budget unfortunately). A couple of minor issues could be resolved, like the shower head not staying at the right height and a lack of plug sockets etc, but I would happily return. And the village and surrounding area is stunning!

Excellent large clean room. Has a sitting area which isn’t always available in hotel rooms. Large comfortable bed. Convenient for shops (on doorstep) and seaside (couple of miles). Can eat in hotel- usual value for money food- or in local restaurants. Tea and coffee in room. Oat milk provided in room as well as standard milk. Downside no biscuits on tea tray!!!

The restaurant and bar was really good cozy with log fires traditional with welcoming bar staff and servers.
My meal on both nights was very good.

The room that I stayed in was in a separate outbuilding. The bed was clean, but the carpet had a layer of dust at the base and on top of the skirting boards. Stains on walls also put me off.Very basic small room with only a main ceiling light. I would return to the restaurant but I would not stay in one of the rooms again.

Great stay, recommend this to anyone looking for a quality, value stay in the area. On arrival was greeted by the charming host who got me booked in and to my room extremely efficiently. The room was fine and very comfortable, a short walk to the superb pub which is a true gem of a country inn.

A lovely few days, Lovely staff and mostly friendly guests. Simple but very good food. Clean and well appointed. A slightly musty smell in the room but not unexpected in an old building where windows are generally closed for most of the day. Likely to stay there again.

My only complaint with the Greyhound is the checking in , we arrived after a long drive to find check in was closed between 3-5.30 so had to sit waiting outside until someone came to let us in ! Had we been informed before our arrival we could arranged this differently, that was very annoying !

Unfortunately the bed was extremely uncomfortable and had to ask for a duvet to be added to the mattress for the second night. The first night we had to do this and as no extra sheets or covers were available we had to use a bath towel as a cover!!
The bathroom shower base was peeling of paint and black mould on it and mould on the shower blind. The floor tiles the grout was also in need of a good clean or re grouting.
Light from the corridor during the night shone through the gap under the door and the side of it that didn’t help with our sleep.
If the hotel made some improvements to their rooms we would definitely return but sadly not how it is at the moment.

5 * Service. Best pub meal in my 6 years in UK, amazing food. Incredibly quiet, a nice change if you're from a busy city. Only 30-40 mins drive to the coast.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, and the restaurant is a really lovely setting. Food was great. Our room on the other hand, was small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was in need of a deep clean as there was pink mould in the grouting in the shower. The bed wasn’t overly comfortable and the room gets very stuffy over night. Being on the ground floor we didn’t like to sleep with the window wide open, which meant we struggled to sleep. We felt that the hotel/inn and the restaurant were two completely different experiences and it was a shame the quality wasn’t consistent through both parts. They were extremely dog friendly and looked after my dog extremely well as he’s on an extremely restricted diet. It was no problem for the chef to cook up some

The Greyhound has spacious, comfortable and well decorated bedrooms away from the main pub. The food was very good, as was the service, with that rare thing in a pub being a selection of choices at breakfast rather than the banal full English as the only option. One mild disappointment was the very limited selection of beers, but this could have been as a result of the pub only recently reopening after lockdown.

This is a little gem! Stayed one night on the way to camping near Weymouth. A safe place to leave a packed car full of camping gear. Dog-friendly, with excellent service and lovely comfortable rooms.

excellent 3 night stay at this lovely pub with rooms. Our room was clean and comfortable,no housekeeping due to Covid. The only negative about the room was only had velux windows so no view at all but that can't be helped. The breakfasts were more than excellent ! We ate in the pub every evening and the food was delicious and well priced as was the wine. Every member of staff was welcoming,friendly and helpful

It was pleasant. A quiet retreat with great food. The room could have done with better dusting and the upholstery on the headboard was in dire need of a vacuuming. All was tidy, but the mattress was old and creaky (would benefit from a top-mattress). The bathroom had a bit of mild in it.
