The basement parking is safe but note that they close after 11:00pm for security reasons. So if you drive and have to return late then open car park on L1 in front of the Lobby is the only option. The rooms facing the city is good enough unless you want sea view which I booked. The
Club Lounge should have ice and more selection of soda. There were only 2 cans of Classic Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale. The crackers were excellent. We didn’t get the chance to have full meals as we couldn’t make it during the times when food were available.

Room was clean and large, staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. It’s close enough to walk to the heritage areas and jonker walk in approx 10-15 mins and then escape back to peace and quiet away from bustle and traffic. When I had a wait between check out and my bus departure, staff generously offered me 2 extra hours use of my room for free without even asking for it. The pool is clean and peaceful, although there were no umbrellas or shade which would have been nice to sit back and read a book after a swim.

A positive for this hotel is that the location is great if you will frequent the nearby market. However, the room is dated; one of the rooms we booked had a broken telephone, so it would pick up but you couldn’t hear the other side. The water temperature in the shower was hit or miss at times and inconsistent. The fridge didn’t work, and the air con was weak. The choice of shower gel and soap is parsley-flavoured/scented, which I didn’t particularly like, but this is subjective. There was one particular Chinese staff member who was incredibly helpful, and helped us understand parking rules in Malaysia.

It was great that the hotel provided a shuttle bus to a few tourist destination. Staff were friendly and always there to assist. We were there for 6 nights and we got the breakfast deal when we booked. It would have been good to have a variety of different food choices but unfortunately there were only one or two dishes that were different for the 6 breakfast we had. There were plenty of shops across the road and within walking distance. Overall a good and safe location hotel.

Quite an old property. Hence didn’t impressed me much. The rooms has an old musky smell like any other hotels which were old.
One of the lift was faulty when we were there, but no signs were put up. We waited long time to get to our rooms during peak hour.
The hotel staff were helpful and kind when we asked questions.
I liked that the hotel employed staff with disabilities, giving them a chance to be more independent.

Sound proofing needs major improvement. Our room was sea facing and also facing a pub/bar call Jetty. We can hear loud thumping music every night for 5 nights from 10.30pm till 3.30am. Not only that, we can hear our neighbours next door and all along the same floor opening and closing doors and people talking. If someone is sensitive to noise, this hotel is not for you.

The hotel is at a walkable distance from Mahkota Parade. They also have shuttle bus services to some of the attractions every two hours. The Maritime museum and river cruise is also a 15min walk away.

The room was ready before 3pm so we could check in before heading out for lunch. The room was clean and child friendly.

The staff at the reception were always polite and helpful, especially Thivashri. The hotel had maps to explain how we could walk to the mall across avoiding the highway. Thivashri also wrote down recommendations of some restaurants for us to try local cuisine.

Housekeeping and room service took very long to respond but my children enjoyed the Fish and Chips very much.

There was a children's swimming pool and bath robes provided for the children. They swam every day.

I would definitely go back there.

Romance trip.

The hotel is dated and renovation works seems to be ongoing. Can hear hammering sounds in the daytime throughout our stay. Rooms are bad soundproofing, can hear next door guests talking. Heavy bass from nearby disco can also be heard from 9.30-10pm onwards(our room is seaview facing), not nice if you are light sleeper. Breakfast varieties are ok with enough sitting area. WiFi is very good. Shopping malls are just opposite the hotel with roads in between, which can be quite tricky to cross safely.

We had requested an early check in and the hotel staff was kind enough to assist as we had kids.

Due to an issue with our kids suite room, they had upgraded us to another suite with all the kids bed set up. The room service was gd. Personnel were more than happy to assist.

We had left things behind and the hotel manged to find and assist us to bring it to us.

Lounge access was good however the timings were not stated for what time the food will be unavailable.

Overall really good hotel with the breakfast readily available. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in malacca

Great place to stay but need to sort out refunds!

We had a lovely stay in Melaka and everything was great at the hotel apart from we have not received the refund we are due. There was a payment taken instead of it being held as a pending amount and when I asked about this at check out I was told I would definitely receive the refund however I have not after 2 weeks. I have e-mailed the hotel but not received a response. I think this is most likely unusual but very disappointing. I am hoping through this message someone at the hotel will sort out the refund.

Great property. Felt like luxury after other hotels in Malaysia. All staff were so kind and helpful. We'd mistakenly only booked one room but they put foldable beds for our children for free. Happy with stay. Although hotel/room a little dated but location and superb cleanliness compensate for it. Beddings and toilet clean. It is directly opposite a shopping mall, 15/20mins walk to most tourist attractions. Check in/out fast, reception courteous. If really to pick would be the low pressure flushing which is not uncommon in most hotels.

Property looked refurbished. However many things left to be desired. Room toilet had malfunctioned . In room refrigerator had to be exchanged. But overall service recovery was fast and on point. Reasonable for its price. It was rated as a five star hotel, so i was expecting more. I find that rooms are cleaned and staff is prompt as we requested for bottled water.

I find that service definitely can be improved such as informing us about the venue of the buffet breakfast and shuttle service available. We had to find out all these by ourselves. Location is good as we managed to walk to Jonker street.Wonderful stay.. can consider again if we wanna go Melaka again.

We are 3 pax room. But the items provide only for 2. Each time we need to call for extra set. For instead we called for 1 more towel, toothbrush and shaver. End up only 1 shaver send up. Then ask where is the towel and toothbrush n then only towel send up.
I don't think toilet is been washed during my whole 4 night as the hair in the toilet are just stack up there
Then the day on my check in. As a guest I did not even have a car park lot due to whatever event. But shouldn't there is some slots reserved for guests like us already so tired after long day drive.

The hotel is fairly well located a short walk from the historic centre. The pool itself was nice but there were only 2 umbrellas and around 8 loungers - almost all of which were broken in some way or other. Malacca first trip after 20 years

Overall a pleasant hotel to stay though a little further from historic town. The regulator of aircon in the room is not working resulting in very cold temperature after a few hours of using the aircon. It is a waste of energy and also caused discomfort in the night when you sleep.

There was a problem with the tv remote. I called the front desk to assist with the problem but nobody came as promised. Secondly, my brother and I were sleeping in our room when the janitor opened our room door to ask if we need our room cleaned. I have never experienced people opening my room without my consent. Thirdly, the wifi is very poor. Network connection is often lost.

First time staying at this hotel for 2 nights and we will never ever come back again because we got bedbugs bite after staying here. It mean that the room is not clean especially the bed and the carpet floor.The TV signal is also very bad, all the channels totally cannot see. The shuttle service is also not punctual. We waited at the Dataran Pahlawan Mall for almost 30 minutes until we called the Hotel then only they came to fetch us. The variety of breakfast is also limited and not tasty. Overall it's bad experience for our stay at Holiday Inn Melaka Hotel.

Hotel is just located near to the mall n night market for food n can experience the Jonker street if you walk a bit further. The staff at the reception is pleasant n helpful. Check in n check out is at ease. The swimming pool is nice with viewing to the sea. Gym is clean n fill with essential equipment for workout. Car park n the hotel lobby is easily accessible.

Have stayed here many times and I’ve noticed that the condition is still decent - of course it’s clean and spacious and the common amenities are in good condition. The swimming pool is a highlight and so is the Italian restaurant scirocco.

Due to my mum’s health, we spent our 3 night stay mostly at the hotel and it’s restaurants.

We were delighted with the restaurant’s staff service especially Syafinas and Khairu. They were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent too.

The room however has a musky smell and dated.

Overall it’s a wonderful stay for us.
