Our room had no window and smelt of mold. We asked for a bigger room and the receptionist immediately showed us a big apartment space with two rooms and bathrooms. It was clean and very spacious. we paid extra 70 MYR for two nights.
It was close enough to the center of the historic site (about 11 min walk)

I have been staying in the hotel for few times, all ok except this time, the hotel towels was smelly, seem like they did not wash the towels and pass it to the next guest. Stinky smell is horrible. I would stay in this hotel again because of the convenient location and good desk staff service. Hopefully this will be no stinky smell again for the next visit

great stay great location worth it

I book a family apartment room for my family of five. Great stay . The bed is so comfortable and cleanliness is fine! Just except the toilet bath curtain maybe need to wash , the bottom have the stain ,it made me feel uneasy. We have two family staying with fenix inn , definitely we come back again to stay

Location is fantastic since it is near the city center & just next to Hatten Hotel. It was a last minute booking & many other hotels were fully booked due to the long weekend of Hari Raya Haji.

Nothing to shout about a 2 star hotel. We managed a 2-room, 2-night stay here without much difficulty. All we need were clean beds & a good shower since we were out to Melaka town the whole day. Looking at the rate paid compared to the services received, I think it was a fair deal.

Upon arrival and checking in everything seems Ok. Staff was friendly and helpful but when nightfall came realize that the aircon was leaking badly. Made a call to the front desk and was immediately attended too and made a room change. Super efficient on the quick response of the staff will definitely consider this hotel for my next trip. Bravo to the staff

Room was clean and cosy. Location was good too. Very near to shopping malls and eateries. Just that NO lift at all. You have to climb up by stairs. Bringing down heavy and bulky luggage would be a problem and inconvenience.

Good location, not so great facilities

The location was pretty good if you're aiming to go to Dataran Pahlawan and Mahkota Parade, and the service was pretty good overall, but my main gripes were with two things:
1) I was travelling with my parents, two seniors, and did not realise until arrival and check in that the place does not have any escalator or elevator. Not that it'd anyone's fault or anything, would just have appreciated it being made known in advance. Granted, this is not something that everyone would mind, and if I were on my own it would have been fine, but when with two senior folks - not so great.

2) The flooring is covered with this sticky layer (which I think is the laminate itself) that leaves footprints when you walk on it, plus makes your feet, well, sticky. Not overwhelmingly sticky, but uncomfortable for sure.

The hotel is in a very good location where most all the tourist spots are within the walking distance, they also have a valet to help me to park the car which I greatly appreciate.

If I must bone picking, I will suggest if there is more plugs in the room instead of just one. But will back to this hotel again on my next visit

Very central location. Lots of food options within walking distance. Valet parking was a pleasant surprise. Only 2 small issues: 1) Bathrooms were very small, there were barely any toiletries & the doors left a gap when closed 2) Our 2-bedroom apt was on the 2nd floor & the sofa bed in the living area faced the main road, so the traffic noise was disturbing throughout the night. Other than that, it was a value-for-money place

Basic, clean and efficient accommodation. Stayed in an \"apartment\" type unit. Came with two rooms, mini kitchen (no cooking), cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, kettle, microwave. WiFi included. Service was efficient. Staff polite. What was impressive was the turnaround after checkout. Staff determined that we left behind the children's precious old pillows and promptly retrieved them to the delight of the child! Well done. Will stay again :-)

Hotel room was fairly clean, but sheets were slightly stained and the rack in the bathroom was slightly dirty as well. Wifi signal was quite poor in the room and the air conditioner wasn’t very strong. But overall still a fairly pleasant stay. The security guard made sure to keep our motorbike which we parked at the premises safe.

Bad Services & Ridiculous Hotel's Policy

The front deck service was extremely bad as I was told that for Malaysian, you would need to present your national ID during the check-in in which Malaysia International Passport was not accepted due to the hotel's policy which was totally questionable as I have never encounter such requests from other hotels that I've visited so far except this hotel. Also, I was told that the booking made under particular guest's name must be strictly followed despite in each room, there are 2 guests staying and only those guest' name stated in the booking would allow to do a check-in. This is absolutely ridiculous that if the person making a booking was absent, does it means that another guest staying the same room with the booked person is not allowed to make a check-in? The reasoning given was due to their hotel's policy which is absolutely unreasonable that for any rules & regulations that imposed by the hotel, it should have been listed clearly in all our booking, otherwise how do they expect all the staying guests to know their hotel policy.

Convenience and very short walking distance to mall + place of interest. 9 O'clock direction to Mahkota mall + 10 O'clock direction to Pahlawan mall and both just need to cross the road with short walking distance only. Same Pahlawan mall walking direction within 10 minutes will reached A Famosa. Dutch Red House and Jonker Street is just a corner steps.

It was a very pleasant stay with exceptional staff service from Mazlan from reception Faiq who drove us out to a wedding function in a kampung. They both went out of their job scope to make our stay most comfortable. The room was nice and clean. The area has good local food and within walking distance to Jonker. Overall an excellent experience.

Great location, basic setting

A basic hotel good for a short stay. We were put in another building as they were expanding and the older building is full. So we had to climb 2 floors up as there's no lift. Good jockey service, very friendly and very helpful. Checking in took some time as they have to process the cash deposit receipt, personal details etc. Overall it's a pleasant stay at Fenix Inn and it's well worth the money!

The location is good. The Air-conditioner needs to be replaced. It was noisy, difficult to get to sleep due to the noise. The toilet was also not properly clean. There was stain on the toilet bowl when I first checked in. While the good point about the hotel is the friendliness of the staff. They were quite friendly and helpful.

hotel location is good. Apartment bedsheets not very clean, no amenities provided except toilet papers and 1 single dispenser for hair &body. No elevator , but we are fine with it. However, if u do not read the sign to your room carefully might lost your way. There are many staircase and doors. overall for the price of an argument, the hotel is good. will return again .

Hotel with great location only.

We stayed in the Premier Apartment with 2 bedrooms from 15 March to 17 March 2017. This hotel is not suitable for elderly. There is no lift and both the toilets are small. The master room is at the common corridor with a big 2-panel sliding window covered with a curtain. Feels very unsafe, and early in the morning you can hear people walking and talking very loudly.
