We checked in at 3am into the family room - 907. The small bed was terrible. When my nephew sat on the bed, the mattress sunk. Condition of the bed was very bad n we suspect the spring of the bed was damaged. Housekeeping staff came up to make a change n the process was tiring at the hour. The next issue was the hair dryer. Smoke came out while I'm using which I immediately turned off This was annoying n disappointed as the standard of this hotel has a significant dropped.

We checked in on at 3am. I was called by my mum that her room in 1720 was terrible. Toilet was very dirty, room was very noisy due to some machine sound outside room - suspect is the compressor. I called to arrange housekeeping to check n was told will look into it. No one attended the matter after I made 2 calls in total. Few hours later at 7am when I wanted to have breakfast with mum n I called her, she sounds so stressed n tired b told me she haven sleep n is having severe headache. I had experienced my mum in such stressful state during holiday. I immediately went to counter n feedback. Staff arranged her to switch room at 9am which is 24 Jan. I am very angry n disappointed this round on the service. This has caused my mum not able to enjoy her stay in melaka this time. Kindly look into this n revert where was the lapse. Thanks.

Extremely Disappointing Stay

Our stay was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

Late Check-In: Check-in was supposed to be at 3 pm. We arrived at 4:30 pm but only got our room at 6 pm — more than two hours late.

Missing Amenities: The room had no toiletries, toothbrushes, toilet paper, or bedroom slippers. We called the concierge around 6:30 pm, and the front desk confirmed the items would be delivered. When we returned at 11:30 pm, nothing had been sent, and we had to go down to the lobby ourselves to request and collect them.

Insufficient Key Cards: The room was booked for three guests, yet we were given only one key card.

Access Issues: On the second day, that single key card was deactivated, and we couldn’t access our room when we returned to the hotel. We had to go back to the front desk again to reactivate it, despite having the room booked for 3D2N.

Overall, the service quality, attention to detail, and guest experience were terrible. This stay was filled with unnecessary inconvenience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting even basic hospitality standards.

This is a comfortable hotel and the room that I had on 13th floor was spacious, sunny and hospitable. But this is not a grand old dame. It is a huge 300 plus bed hotel in the city centre of Melaka. There is a big shopping mall across the road. It’s just a pity that there was not not water for most of my four day stay and housekeeping is very tardy. They don’t even provide hand towels except on request. But despite the shortcomings it is a fine place to stay at a very reasonable price.

It was disastrous, reception not sure about the process, i have been charged tourism tax when checked in while it stated in the booking that the travel organisation ( expedia / hotels.com ) would pay the tax to them. They also charged the tax for the two days which i did not check in as i had to burn two nights due to medical check up. It is actually stated in their country information website that no money/ tax should be charged if not staying in the hotel. Overall this hotel is really terrible.

Good hotel, shame about the Wi-Fi

Good hotel and good service. In fact we proved that by choosing to extend our 2-day stay.
The only (and most important) thing that let the hotel down was its Wi-Fi. It was slow and intermittent. Eventually we asked whether we could have a wired connection. Initially they said that they only had Wi-Fi, but when we complained again, all of a sudden this was possible. With a wired connection, there were no further issues.
Good fast Wi-Fi is not a luxury to a lot of people, it's a necessity.

- Convenient 15-20 mins walk to most tourist attractions such as Dutch Square, Jonker Street
- Concierge staff was incredibly helpful in giving us travel directions
- Free parking for hotel guests
- Room was spacious and decently clean (4 star hotel standards)
- We were given a family suite on the high floor and were there on a non-peak period so it was generally quiet.
- Interior design furniture and fittings is slightly outdated and worn out but otherwise functional
- WIFI connection is good
- Wide range of TV channel options, but could not access OTT apps - need to be ‘updated’.
- Provided only the necessary toiletries including soap shampoo toothbrush toothpaste bath towels and bath room mat
- We did not try their buffet breakfast but opted for the cafe at the ground floor of the hotel. Coffee and American style breakfast was fair for the price.
- In overall, the place is suitable for travellers or those with larger families looking for a practical, convenient and spacious accommodation for an economical price. Will not be suitable for those expecting the luxury aesthetics and services of your typical 5/6 star hotel.

It was the most disappointing stay i have ever had in Malaysia the bathroom was just atrocious with water from the shower flooding the bathroom and toilet floor every time you had a shower the bed was so short my legs hung over the end of the bed. And the stalf wanted to charge extra for towels to mop up the floors this is in now way a four star hotel please read all the bad reviews on Google i wish i had don't expect this to be a good hotel you have been warned

The imperial heritage is a very striking building in the heart of downtown Malacca, which makes it a great base for sightseeing, shopping and dining. Inside, the hotel is a borderline 4 star. The lobby a bit small and dated, the rooms spacious but a tad old fashioned. Or as some would say, authentic to an age. Just that age is the 1980s, which was great for music but not so much for design. Still we booked the family suite and it was really spacious, clean, had nice views a kitchenette and two twin bedrooms. Which for some is the most important thing.

The toilet cabinet is quite dirty and has woodworms, which is very dangerous for children. the room is quite dusty as if it is not well maintained. because before I was very satisfied with this hotel. The hotel room is above average for its price and cleanliness is good. Air con seems old but it is working well. Toilet basin was leaking below, and they use the dustbin catch the drip. It's a heritage hotel, so my expectations weren't that high, just hope that they improve on that.

During check-in I reminded the counter staff that I had reservation sometime 2019/2020 which was postponed due to Covid-19, and she told me that she will check with reservation as I told her that Expedia had been emailing them about this matter but with no response. Till we check-out there was no response from the counter staff.

On the first day we went out at 11am and was back at 5.30pm and to our disappointment the room was not cleaned. Called the front office, lady counter staff said she will inform the housekeeping and waited till 6.05pm no show from housekeeping and when I called the front office again a guy answered and said the lady staff had had left for home. From then on everyday before leaving I had to go and looked for housekeeping staff and remind them to clean our room.

The door-man Hussein and Ali were very approachable and helpful and obliging too. If we ever go back the Imperial it will be for these two staff only.

Front Desk Staff is helpful n attentative. The cleaner did a good job in tiding the room. Good location to Malls n Restaurants.
However the hotel needs some renovation. The room is totally run down. The wallpaper is taddy n shabby. The toilet seat n the shower curtain truthly need immdte replacement. The worst is the wifi never seems works at all......however one can never expect more consider the cheap offer.
