A very straightforward hotel. No frills. Simple rooms but with lovely new bathroom and rainforest shower. Despite simplicity it supplied everything, very good value for money, only $5/6 to Jonkers walk in a Grab taxi. Really nice music in foyer and by pool. Pool wasn’t amazing but it was quiet - I had it all to myself so 👍 Bed was comfy.

First of all. The room was very spacious and thoughtfully allocated although I would suggest upgrading the television to a smart tv for an executive room such as this. That was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in a long time for my back and neck issues. I was however very disappointed with the roof top. Namely because there’s a lot of open unused space that could be utilized as green space with plants and small trees to really liven up the vibe. The pool is outdated. I feel like they are missing an opportunity for a shared recreation area up there. It’s also kind of annoying to not be able to take the elevator all the way there. The view from the roof is beautiful at night though.. granted I found it strange that they offer for sale lovely hotel branded ashtrays yet none of them are at the tables and chairs on the roof to add an element of synergistic class. The surrounded neighborhood has several run down buildings listed for sale. It’s curious to me that whoever owns the hotel hasn’t purchased and facelifted them.

I went as a family with 4 children, so their room with 3 beds was very suitable. My kids were happy to jump around.

The unit we got came with a big bathroom which also included a bathtub, which was another plus.

The only thing that was abit unusual was that they asked for money when i asked to get a second key card, which I thought was strange.

Next door of the hotel was a nice seafood restaurant. Reasonably priced and the food was very fresh

Stayed in room 2515 (5th floor). Love my room. Definitely worth the price. Spacious bed, clean room and big toilet. Swimming pool is closed currently due to RMCO. Many parking available. Safe and easy. Will definitely come back again. Thank you

Check in process was very unpleasant. I have stand in line for nearly 1 hour before my turn. Overall, room cleanliness needs to be improved. Anyway, good night sleep/rest as the room was sound proof. Hardly hear anything from outside even though hotel is located next to busy road.

Although it is a non-smoking but then the smell was bad .... My 2nd booked room air-con was not working good needed some maintenance ... And the tidying and preparation for the check in was late even we reached at 1625hrs although it should be ready at 1500hrs since the rules required us to do so.....
In the night , there were some dripping sound but it is solved as i placed a towel to contain the drips.

After a long journey, we arrived at the hotel where we had booked a room for 3. The staff asked us to pay cash for some tax and wouldn't accept credit card or wouldn't let us pay later. Since we had no cash on hands we were forced to go look for an ATM before even letting our bags. Very poor service.
So our room was booked for 3 people as mentioned in the reservation and the room was advertised for up to 3, but we got only 2 towels and the staff wanted to make us pay for a third one. Same for the included breakfast, turns out it only included 2 breakfast and we had to pay for the third one. To note that the breakfast buffet is not nice for a 4 stars hotels, a bit of fried rice and noodles, porridge, eggs and bread. I would advise to eat elsewhere.
Also beds are quite small, like 120cm which is not very wide for 2.
Access to the hotel is not easy if you're on foot, there's no sidewalk and cars pass by quickly. The hotel is about 10min walk from the historical center and not far from a mall but the direct neighborhood is not nice.

The tap was in a bad condition as though it's fall easily, though still in working condition. Bathroom was dim with only 1 light at the entrance of the toilet.

This is the first time I am writing a bad complain. Room air cond noisy during the temp cut off and request for staff to rectify the problem. They attend the problem without checking the problem more than 1 min and told us that this is normal sound due to some air pressure from the out side.( This make me confuse what they guy is telling me ) Tech staff no experience.
Secondly I request for an extra pillow cause they only provide free 3 pillow max and the rest there is a charges of RM2 for 1 pillow per night.
Third Reception staff name Mr Ng attitude is bad during my check out time where he refund me the deposit like using his own money to make the refund type.
I rented 3 rooms for 2 nights and did not get a good sleeping experience overall.

Feel very disappointing with this hotel !!!!!!!!

Bad reception Mr Ng attitude. ( I guess he did not get a bonus for 2019 and he make a revenge to all the hotel customers )

I checked in about 5pm. At time 9.30pm, the aircond temperature at 28 deg C !! Then i asked for help, the technician told me that there was a leaking and they have fixed it by topping up the gas. I asked the 2 technicians were they sure it will last long by topping up the aircond gas ? They told me not to worry.
Unfortunately, at mid night 3am, the aircond turned up to 27 deg C. I called the desk, the staff came and told me that indeed this room got aircondition problem ! And he willing to change the room for me at mid-night 3.30am !!
I asked the staff why you set me up at this room at the first place when you knew it has aircondition problem ? And you have others empty perfect room that you not give to me ?? And now, at mid-night 3.30am you you want me to move ??
I have no choice to get all my family members to pack and unpack to move to another room, that also after one hour of hard talk with the staff and off duty manager-Mr. Tan.
The worse was Mr.Tan told me that there is no on duty or standby night shift technician or any facility technician around to help !! They have total 4 hotels in the town but with zero night shift facility technician !!
In case there is any electrical short-circuit safety issues, no one able to help !! It is a real safety issues !!

Whole Hotel itself needs refurbish. Weird smell (insect's repellent) at reception and lift lobby. Room flooring carpet is old enough to be replaced but at least better than the carpet along the corridor, just like walking on dry mud.

The family suite was large, and the beds are comfortable. Wifi was avail in the room which was great. However the tickets sold at the reception for the Oceanarium did not include the add-ons which it promised to include, and the staff did not follow up on our calls. Management should look into the matter and not sell such tickets to its guests in future.

We come to Melaka often and always stay at Hallmark Crown Hotel.
This is a family-friendly hotel. Many families with small children stay here and we feel safe.
As we come with 2 small kids, we chose the bigger rooms. Last trip with family was just last month (Jun 2018). The family rooms can be a little more cleaner. However, for the price, we cannot expect too much.

Booked a deluxe double room with queen bed this time. Room was cleaner and more comfortable than the rooms we had in the past. Breakfast was of limited variety, as usual. However the mee goreng was very good!

Biggest complaint is that the wi-fi is very unreliable and connection was of low quality. There was no Internet access 90% of the time in the room. Wifi connection was better in the lobby. Hotel management will do well to improve on this point.

Though the exterior looked old, surprised to find stuff I would find in 5 star hotel in the room. The room I booked has a working digital safe, ample power plugs with USB build in, toilet has bath tub, hair dryer, toilet bowl wash bidget, rain shower, mini fridge, weighing machine, ironing board. Many of these are not found in budget hotel of this price offered. Overall good. Walking distance to shopping mall.

Good hotel, great room

Stayed 1 night, the room was superb! Huge space, comfortable bathroom. Highly recommended. Friendly staff, they even allow me park for some time so i can walk around the city for the last time after i checked out. for my personal opinion, i don't mind walking 15 minutes+- to reach the centre of Malacca. Anyway if you cannot find the nearest place for your breakfast, try toast and toast just behind the hotel about 500m away.

5 stars for the room (Room 1307) but the turn off was the breakfast. The first morning, the spread of nasi lemak, porridge and fried noodle turns me off. After 3 requests of half boiled eggs, we were served with HARD BOIL eggs.
2nd-morning spread was better but on the hind side, they could do better with a professional chef, at least with someone who knows to cook the sunny side up.
I was lucky to have this room with access to few TV channels but next door, 3 channels only. Front service to be cautious of what was being communicated to the hotel guests.

It was great until we have been harrased by guests from China who came in group and stayed on left & right of our room. They keep on knocking our door in the middle of the night and shouting / making noise until I make complaint to the reception.

About the hotel, the facilites was really good and value for money. Really impressed with 2 nice vending machines and kids area (with colours pencil/drawing paper & stools +table) at the lobby. The swimming pool and children’s pool located at the Roof Top but the pool can be further improved.

1. Hard to find hotel location & got lost when using google maps (been brought to housing area at Taman Bakti). Called the reception several times. The receptionist was not good on giving direction. She kept saying near the dataran pahlawan & 7E. She should've said the main landmark nearby which is the school, then it would be much easier without having to face the congested traffic.
2. The swimming pool is quite small for adult & not like what was expected

A short stay hotel.

Location of hotel consider good for those without transport as have a food court surrounding. The breakfast have to go second building by walking if you stay at block one building. Breakfast was simple and not much choice. My room was little bit dust on the carpet. I'm get rusty water boiler in the room, very disgusting. The hotel cannot check in earlier even you arrived at 2 pm something. The hotel reception less smile, feels like they are not welcome you stay at the hotel. And by the way, they are busy talking with their walkies talkies during you check in.

Very pleasantly surprised with this hotel after reading a few reviews. Took a little bit of finding because we didn't want to get a taxi but once settled in it seemed close enough to all the sites and eating places. 2 nights was only just enough time for seeing most of the things we wanted to see. The buffet breakfast had enough choice to just about satisfy most tastes but don't expect a full English, after all we are in Malaysia!!The pool was an added bonus after a day of sightseeing.

Stayed there between 19 and 23 Dec 2016 with family comprising two parents and 3 kids. Booked via Expedia.
While we were there, we saw many families with small kids and felt safe

Hotel was simple and nice. Staff were friendly. check in took less than 2 minutes probably because I had a prior booking online.Checkout was similarly quick.

Good things about the hotel:
Simple, clean room
Toothbrushes and paste, small bar soap, shower cap replenished daily
Simple and small swimming on roof top
Big car park with ample parking spaces

Can improve on:
We got a room that was close to the neighboring large restaurant and the noise from the gas containers was very bad (not hotel's fault though)
Can fix minor problems like crack on toilet door

However the bedding & the bathroom are still okay, At the time of my stay there is construction going on the road in front of the hotel making driving out from the hotel a bit difficult. 1) The receptionist didnt greet me when i register and didnt provide full info such as time for breakfast and wifi password. I overheard all the info from the other chinese receptionist.

Very poor! We arrived late around 3.30pm checked in, and went to our room just to know that our room still haven't made ready yet. Then we go down to receptionist and ask us to wait for another hour. Btw the receptionist is very unfriendly especially the woman receptionist. No eye contact very rude. We only able to check in atound 4.30pm and guess what, tge bedsheet are not properly tuck into tge bed sides, they dont wash the toilets, cups are watery. I think the only thing they did is just stretch the blankets and replace towels. Carpets are very dirty you need to wear slippers. The next day, the receptionist called our room ask us to check out on time which is on 12pm, i woke up a bit late and manage to check out around 1.15pm. And they charge us for late check out despite of the late check in yesterday! Such a waste and dissapointing!

Should add more counter for check-in. Why put so many staff in reception area but only 1 person can assist for check-in?? Queing almost 1hour for it.

Breakfast just so-so, need improvements on it.
Please add more variety of food.

Got mineral water in rooms, but it will be charged once we check-out. They should provide is as free (complimentary).

Good for low budget hotel. 20 mins walk to Bandar Hilir. Many parking lots and safe. The bad thing my room got no view. Very boring.

Swimming Pool

me and my family spend 2d1n in Malacca so we decide to check in the hotel that provide pool facilities as my husband and daughter loves to swim.. End up found this hotel which is worth for money as they also provide breakfast.. overall i satisfied w this hotel which is clean and comfy at the same time except for the wifi and location which is quite busy..

Very big and clean toilet with bathtub and shower.

Speedy check in and out. Room was big and clean. Love the onsite car park which is super convenient.

The bathroom was great and the room was fine. Just the pillows were too hard and the people next door were extremely noisy until 2am and started early again the next morning!
