Overall this is a super hotel in a great location - next to the river and right in the older part of Melaka. The staff are excellent. There are a couple of minor 'howevers' from our 4 night stay: the bar wasn't open at all; and the restaurant was focused entirely on providing iftar buffet suppers. But, when, on 2 of the nights we stayed, we explained that we were staying in the hotel and wanted to eat in the restaurant (from the a la carte menu), the restaurant staff bent over backwards to accommodate us, even though this must have caused then significant inconvenience. We were happy, but it was unfortunate that the limitations with the restaurant and the bar were not communicated at the time of booking, so that we could either have decided to accept them or to book a different hotel.

It is a nice & unique hotel with spacious room. But i was shocked to see a big lizard in my room . I really allergic to this species . Otherwise everything will be fine and comfortable. The hotel jetty is near & easy for us to get the night cruise . The area also close to jonker street ,

Super welcoming, friendly and helpful reception staff.
Loved their welcome cool towels and sorbet. The reception area is designed in such a way it channels the air and makes it very cool when returning from exploring. Room was very spacious, loved the outdoor patio area. Enjoyed the evening burner in the room for smell and for preventing mosquitoes.
Loved the rooftop pool.
Thought the breakfast was a bit blah. Staff seemed somewhat indifferent. Some of the food did not appear to be very fresh. Dining area was unpleasantly freezing cold (not just for us) so elected to sit outside. This area is inadequate for the number of people who elected to sit outdoors.
Overall - not really value for money. So many other places also as handy location wise, that are much cheaper.

Staff are very attentive and rectify issue very quickly. The property decor gave us a feeling of going back in time. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Prefer to have dinner inside the restaurant rather than outdoor due to weather elements and mosquitoes. Security guard at the front is very helpful, friendly and carry our luggages to the taxi boot.

Generally a pleasant experience but the coffee maker in the room malfunctioned and destroyed 2 of the coffee pods ... we asked for replacements which came after 30 minutes... we paid £130 for one night so imagine my surprise when we were asked to pay for the extra coffee pods on checking out.
Surely for that price a few replacement coffee pods should have been provided FOC.

Great hotel, large rooms, lovely staff and great location in the centre of the tourism area. Really enjoyed our stay a breakfast was included and had lots of choice. Our only problem was the pool was closed for refurbishing for a couple of week which coincided with our stay. We were not aware this would be the case when we booked a couple of weeks earlier. There was a lovely pool at their next door property though which they kindly escorted us to. Think this is probably the best hotel and location for Melaka centre.

Very wonderful, friendly staff. We stayed 4 nights and was advised by the B/F staff that they would provide us with \"special\" cuisine to prevent us from getting bored with their B/F options. We felt that there were plently of choices.We had special.meals on the 3rd & 4th day specially prepared for us by their chefs. I had stayed 10Nights at 2 different Singapore hotels & no one considered we may be bored with their B/F options. Also, the hotel manager met us and responded to our queries re where to find local peranakan cuisine. She helped organize transport for us to get to our destinations without difficulty..Highly recommend all who vidit Melaka to stay at Casa Del Rio

This time,I will make a serious comment to your hotel.

Honestly to say, The hotel itself is very good, but I felt that the staff could have been better educated.

It was a pity that the hotel could not meet the very simple requests of the guests, and that the necessary equipment such as bath towels etc., was not available.

It may be 5 star in Malacca, but it is not at the level of global 5 star hotel like a Riz carton, Four seasons, Marriott and others.

However, the management class has a high level of hospitality, and I felt that they are aiming for a global 5 star hotel.

Location is excellent. I loved my room. The cooler however wasn’t cold enough. Love the cinnamon soap they provide. Overall it’s very comfortable. Staff here try very hard to please. Breakfast was excellent. My biggest complaint is the cooler being warm and the maintenance dude that showed up to inspect it took his shoes off before entering (which I appreciated) but walked across my floors with the most foul smelling feet which lingered after he left.

When I made the booking, the price of the room per night was quoted as SGD 111 per night . At the hotel, I was told it is RM508 per night ( SGD 169). This is terrible. I was overcharged a total of SGD 233 for the two rooms that I booked for 2 nights.

The service in the bar & restaurant by the river could be improved especially in the response to guest before & after their orders. We had to wait for some time before anyone would approach us to offer a menu & take an order.
Even a drink a long time to reach us although there was only one or two tables were occupied.

Casa del Rio is fabulous. I will definitely return. It is in a wonderful location by the river. The central fountain over which all the rooms face is beautiful. The hotel has a wonderful layout. The room is lovely. The breakfast great and the infinity pool terrific as it is so large. We enjoyed riding around Melaka on the hotel’s bikes.

The services are very good and prompt.

I don’t like the shower tap. Both the potable and head showers are on when I chose either one. Air con is too cold and does not change fast when temperature was adjusted, hence disturbing my sleep.

Also I ask for queen size bed, only to discover it is two single beds join together. I cannot sleep in the middle of course!

Casa del Rio has a spacious property considering the alternatives. Good and safe parking facilities. Well located next to jonker street. Travelled with two children, and the studio river we booked was clean and big. Very thoughtful service, with evening service. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are wonderful. The location is about 100 metres from all the action of Jonker Street but none of the noise. If you want to pamper yourself I would recommend a few days at Casa del Rio Melaka. If you haven't been to Melaka before (or even if you have) the hotel can organise a river cruise boat to pick you up from their own jetty.

Overall the room and services are good. Liked the pool and services in the room, keep up the good work for housekeeping team. Quick check in and out but got really disappointed with the breakfast.
I don't blame much for the choices offered however is not right to serve bread with ants.
I can understand for 1 or 2 ants crawling which I wouldn't expect to have handful of ants swarming out after cutting the bread.
I raised this matter over to a Malay waiter (believed to not really understand English well) waiting for a change however he don't really seem to bother. I guess he just went in and threw the bread away, what about the remaining bread at the counter? Shouldn't at least someone from the kitchen at least come out and check? In a way I didn't expect to face such experience from the one of the top hotels in Melaka.

The hotel was great with a distinct Portuguese/Mediterranean favour, It has a sizable roof top pool that one can swim laps.

However, the adjacent river was really smelly. It reminded me of the river in Bruge way back in the early 1970’s which was worse then. Hiwever, that Belgium town has since cleaned up its river. May be Melaka can do the same.

Booked for my elderly parents and no regrets. The welcome drinks with their name in a leaf is refreshing. The river view room is spectacular, authentic wood deco. Breakfast is ok with ala carte and small buffet. Hospitality is tip top especially Nana who assisted my parents to a nearby clinic at 3AM and waited with them till they are done. They even arranged the hotel chauffeur to lead the way out of Melaka to the highway as my dad wasn't sure how to go. Great job to everyone who has made my parents' stay a remarkable experience.

We had a very satisfying stay at Casa del Rio Melaka. Very spacious bed room, attentive staff, and good breakfast. Hotel is situated in a superb location which made it very convenient throughout the stay in Melaka. A la carte + buffet style breakfast was great(especially the eggs menu) although I think there is room for improvement on freshness of the vegetables in the salad corner of the buffet.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

Loved Casa del Rio! The staff, the rooms, the cleanliness, the location, the facilities - can not fault them. Loved the turn down service every night - they even lit candles in your room for you ❤. Walking distance to everything, Saturday night markets were AMAZING, the cute little narrow streets & quaint buildings. The Mega Mall is impressive & only 10 minute walk from resort. I would highly recommend Casa del Rio to anyone wanting to be spoilt whilst on holiday. Definitely going back - good place for 3 day lay over on a long haul flight from NZ.

Its Ramadan so night buffet all full house. We cannot eat at hotel restaurant, so have to eat out at jonker street. As it 2 weekdays, not much choice after 7pm.

The hotel is generally excellent. Great location. But, service is slow and inefficient, may be we just got unlucky, Ramadan time etc.

Stunning hotel, friendly faces.

This hotel is one of the most beautiful places we have stayed in. Everything about it was perfect in every way and the service was impeccable. Our room was really lovely and clean and the staff always had a smile and were always eager to do anything to make our stay wonderful. When we left all the staff stood at the front and waved us goodbye like when your family is leaving. Arriving at our next destination we discovered we left our passports in the safe, and after contacting the hotel they did their best to get the passports to us quickly and in a very professional and safe manner. They were wonderful throughout our stay and their professionalism carried through even after we left. We highly recommend this hotel and hope that one day if we are to go back, that it always remains the same. Thank you for a memorable stay and keep up the good work.
