Pleasant stay but lack toiletries

Overall stay was pleasant, except for the super high staircase steps which could hurt my knees when climbing. It was bad building structure to build each staircase step so high up. Also, hotel is rather stingy with their toiletries. They dun provide hand nor face towels nor toothbrushes etc. When I requested for an extra towel, I was told that the next day I could only have 1 new towel change since the today I had 3 towels. Wow....

Best location

Fantastic location. Views of the river. Right opposite the Police Station. Across from Sid's Old English Pub. My suggestion is to upgrade to the best rooms. Standard rooms are a little bland with no views. Would stay again just because its well priced and in an excellent location. One minute walk to Jonker Street.

The room was stuffy, air conditioner not working makes the situation even worse. The night staff didn’t believe the ac wasnt working without even checking it himself. Manage to change to a different room anyways. Next day during checkout, the receptionist told us that we havent paid for the room when actually expedia has collected our payments. During the arguement i showed the receptionist our prove of payment, suddenly she change her claims that it was only the rm2 tax wasnt paid yet. I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying at this place.

Not a great value.

The place is a bit run down for the price. The biggest turn off is the water dispenser in the lobby with the sign "STAFF ONLY". Really? You won't let your guests refill their water bottles in the lobby of the hotel they're staying in?! The bathroom sink leaked. The wifi simply stopped working from 12am - 8am. The water pressure in the shower varies from medium to dripping. On the plus side, the location is great and the air conditioning is cold.

stayed here with famil,hotel is in a good location but room floors look dirty and bathrooms cleanliness need to be improved.Room 101 is really musty and room 206 has clogged bathroom drain.they need to upgarded the floor boards in room 206 which is broken.

Basic comfort

For the price you pay, it is as good as it gets. Comfortable with basic needs covered. No in-room coffee/tea facility. No lifts/elevators either. So be prepared to walk up to flights of stairs if your room is on the second floor. If you're planning to drive there, parking is limited. Great location though for shopping on Jonker Street. Excellent pub called Sid's just across the road. Short walk to historical Stadhuys and the Fort.

1)room 101 is super mouldy and musty with poor ventilation and had me sneezing.

2) overall cleanliness for bathroom and floors can be improved further.

3) room 206 floorboards are broken and bathroom water doesn't drain and forms a puddle.

The stay was good, staff is friendly n helpful. Check in was fast. Hotel cleanliness is good and everything work well in my room. The only problem is the steps up to the rooms which is steep. Guests with knee problems and heavy luggage is going to struggle up. Can they improve on it? Overall it's a good stay.

Good location but room condition needs improvement

The hotel is located conveniently at the heart of jonker street. It is very accessible to the local attractions. However the closet in the room is very old. A clearly visible layer of dust in the closet and there is a slight musty smell. The planks on the floor has not been maintain properly, it is protruded on some parts when you step onto it. Even though the bathroom is clean, the tap could not close properly and the water kept running.

Great location, friendly staffs and comfortable room. Parking also easy as their provided parking space just next to the hotel. But hotel not suitable if brings small kids, elderly and oku. Stairs are too steep. Overall was a good stay.

Three stay for public holiday in central Melaka...

if you want to be next to Jonker Street and near the red church or Hard Rock the location is perfect. It is a basic shophouse, no lift, safe or fridge but clean and adequate. Mostly quiet with comfortable beds and private shower room. Limited parking but on CCTV and opposite a tourist police station. Great prices and staff were all very friendly and enormously helpful! We took two rooms and would go back again.

Front staff was very helpful and friendly, location is unbeatable, it is so close to Jonker Street and other attractions, Quiet and cozy with beautiful garden just outside the room. Very nice stay.

Hotel staff was friendly, no lifts had to climb stairs to 3rd storey where our room was. Room size was just nice for 2 of us. We didnt had big luggage so not a problem for us. Toilet is very spacious. Aircon worked perfectly. Wifi is unstable and weak. We called to ask them to reset and even went dwn to teach them how to reset. After that all was fine. Water pressure is very weak for shower. Sink easily choked. Most of the time we were out so basically we are satisfied with the room for the price we paid. Excellent location for us.

Super convenient location and clean hotel

The location was PERFECT. It's right at the tip of Jonker Walk so we could just go out to Jonker for some food (there's great chicken rice right next door to the door of our hotel) and shop along Jonker Street and drop our bags at our hotel and go back out again. Very convenient. Great location with a western pub right in front, H&M at the corner in front and the river just right there in our view too.

Great Hotel - Great Biking weekend!

Overall the stay was awesome - it was easy to bicycle around & get back to the hotel - carpark was right beside the hotel - location was so convenient no need to drive - we were literally bicycling & walking the whole time - comfortable rooms - the only downside were the stairs - alittle steep - bathroom sink were not properly cleaned - otherwise all went well ..thank you!

Great location, uncomfortable room

While the hotel lobby looked promising, after a perilous trip up some very steep stairs we discovered a room with a tiny window backing onto a courtyard, a shower located over the toilet, and a smell of cheap air freshener and cigarette smoke. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and we were woken up through the night by other hotel patrons returning to their rooms.

Ok for a no frills short stay

Hotel was located in a good location. That's about the best thing about his hotel. Car park is limited so we had to pay for parking at an open air carpark a short walk away. Room had an after smoke stench even though we requested for a non smoking room. When we told the receptionist, they mentioned it was a non smoking hotel... Room was generally ok for a one night trip. Toilet could use a shower curtain and drainage needs to be checked, flooded while we were taking a shower.

Heeren hotel Melacca

Stayed here for a few nights over a weekend. The room was clean But small ans pretty basic. The bathroom is a small wetroom, basic but fine for a night or two. The hotels position Is bang in the middle of the action with jo ker street not 20 metres away. Plenty to do and see with lots and lots of great places to eat within a few minutes walk. The area can be a bit noisy at night due to it's closeness to the jonker street. Our hotel.l room wasn't cleaned but I called the front desk and the helpful lady came immediately to service the room. Very polite and helpful staff.

Good location, toilet design can be improved

Good location right at start of Jonker Walk, provide free parking and easily accessible. Only negative thing would be the shower and toilet bowl and basin were not exactly "divided" properly, the door will almost brush against the basin and the water will be all over the toilet bowl after showering. Other than this, this is a reasonable priced place to stay.

The good things about this is hotel us-

- Very near to hard rock cafe, sam shu gong and many food stall around. Walking distance to jonker street night market
- Staff are friendly and helpful
- parking lot provided but only up to 6 vehicles

Bad

- No lift and the stairs is a bit high and dangerous. Our room is located on 3rd floor is very tiring to climb the stairs if u carrying a 20 months toddler
- limited TV channels or 3 or 4 channel is working
- No toothbrush provided and bed is a bit hard.

Overall I still sastified staying at this hotel. Will stay again next time.

Kids channel-- disney was there, ur child won't feel bored if stay at room.
location was great, just stone throw distance to jonker street, the good place is that they provide free parking that is hard to find in jonker street.

yet the sound prove is not good, opening & closing door of your neighbour is annoying

Good,comfy and clean facility within the cultural,sightseeing, shopping and relaxing vicinity... Little bit on the pricey side, but really worth it. If you drive your car, plan your day as parking space a little bit limited... But there's a big parking space quite a walk away...

Okay for a night or two

Perfect location, but just like everyone else was commenting about the showers in the bathrooms, it is located in such a bad position within the bathroom (right in the middle) that it's impossible not to get everything wet. Otherwise the room was comfortable, the AC worked well, and for just one or two nights, it's an okay place. I somehow felt that despite the decorations, there was no cozy feeling to the building and the room. The receptionist upon arrival and departure was not friendly at all. Didn't even say hello, just stared at us, no smile, no warm hospitality. I think I will look for something different next time I go to Melaka.

Center of it all

Heeren by the River is the center of it all.
Stone's throw away from the river, Hard rock cafe, Jonker st., and a block away from Red square, museums etc.
Had a good nights sleep, very comfy bed esp the pillows!
New hotel, clean and very accomodating staff.
I was looking for a coke and the owner and staff went their way to accompany me to the store where I can buy it.
Hope they would have snacks and drinks for sale.
Definitely will go back to stay here and will tell my friends and family about it!
