Although the rooms are a little dated. This hotel is a lovely place to stay, it is really close to all the major sites of the city. The food in the restaurant is amazing and reasonably priced. On site parking is also a plus although there are limited spaces.

The room was lovely (although a bit dated) and cleaned daily with fresh towels.

The hotel is on a busy road, but is in a great location to be able to access public transport easily and all the shops and museums are within a 10 minute walk.

We did half board and were very happy with the quality of the food on offer.

Chose it based on location, easy walk from Renfe train (~ 5 min) and to Roman theater (~20 min) along with tapas bars (10-15 min). Just kinda old and worn down. Had to settle for 2 twins, each was rock hard. Had read some good things about the restaurant but didn’t try it. A bit of a funky smell walking in. Could use a facelift, everything was really clean and the room had a great view. Decent value for money, but definitely not luxe.

Quirky in Cartagena

A slightly quirky hotel with a mix of good and challenges. We had one of 3 rooms on 5th (top) floor. Nice view and quiet, however in the morning before breakfast the elevator stopped working, had to walk down one floor to a different elevator which was annoying when checking out as I had to carry luggage down and we both have bad backs. The price was moderate and included breakfast and parking so just be prepared for some inconvenience

Little gem of a hotel

Location is fantastic, on the edge of the sightseeing district with roman theatre etc. Close to both bus and train station. Staff were very professiinal and helpful. Room decor is a bit old fashioned for my taste but perfectly acceptable. Rooms were clean, shower was great, bathrooms had clearly been updated. Breakfast was a bargain at €10 each - small selection but perfectly adequate - various pastries, fruit, yoghurt, bacon, eggs, sausages and various cold cuts.

Overall would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a stay in cartagena and we will be back.

It seems ownership is simply not investing in maintaining the property. Our room needed complete renovation and many repairs to the bathroom. The staff was very nice and helpful, but that's just how the Spanish are ... nice, helpful, and with a good sense of humor, which is needed when ownership doesn't keep the property in good condition.

We found the hotel lovely and the staff and ambience excellent. Our room was slightly dated but it was clean, comfortable and bright, with doors that opened to the view at the front. We found the food to be good and reasonably priced and we chose to eat there several times when we were weary after walking around the city during the day. Whilst initially the air conditioning in the room seemed ineffective, once it had been on a while it was fine and served its purpose. If we were to revisit Cartagena we would definitely consider staying at this hotel again

The property is in an excellent location for transportation and with a short walk the center of the city attractions. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cheerful rooms and beautiful views with large Romeo and Juliet balcony. One concern is the bathroom we had. There was no ventilation so as the guests shower humidity is trapped in the room and black mould is forming on the ceiling which is a health concern. A lot of it. The room is cleaned to a high standard yet this can’t be ignored.

The hotel location is perfect for the train and the bus station, 15 minutes walk into the port and town lovely place itself, The breakfast was lovely the staff were friendly helpful and the only disappointment was The Hotel itself is desperately in need of a refurbishment the jacuzzi bath smelt and the plug didn’t work and the sealant was disgusting, the bed was hard and pillows not very nice x

Fair hotel with no reliable Wi-Fi service.

An average ok with a tasty buffet breakfast. The Wi-Fi was VERY slow or simply did not work: stay elsewhere if you depend on a good Wi-Fi connection. We did not get the Queen or double bed requested, so had to make do with twin beds.

The staff were very kind and helpful. Initially, we were very unsure of parking, but found a public space nearby. We parked, grabbed our bags and checked in. Then, we were told of the on-site parking so moved to that space. It is a protected area so you can only get it after you check in.

You can tell the hotel used to really be something and although it is clean, it needs some work...not necessarily updating, but refreshing. The caulk in the bathroom and the shower door were quite 'tired' - looked dirty though not dirty. The mattresses were just ok...

All-in-all, we loved or stay in Cartagena and this hotel is ideally situated by the train station and main road into town. The historical gems, harbor and 'downtown' walkable areas are only 10-15 min walk. We will stay again.

We stayed in the hotel a couple of years ago and were a little disappointed to find the hotel now looks tired and in need of redecoration. Reception area looks good but our room and the corridors need a face lift. However, the staff were polite and efficient and it is ideally placed for walking into the centre and right opposite the Punic Wall.

Bit old fashioned and in a slightly down at heel part of town. Aircon controlled centrally and not powerful enough. Ordered a double and got three single beds with bedding straight from the 70s. One of which was in the way of the wardrobe. Power sockets a bit sparse. Blackout curtain full of holes. Parking good if slightly awkward - in a storage yard next door, shaded, though places are limited.

Quirky hotel near the old quarter.

This hotel is quirky & in easy walking distance to the main old town sites. Plenty of cafes, restaurants & bars around. Our room was small but adequate. No fridge no tea/coffee in the room but available downstairs. Room was clean but furnishings/curtains seemed dusty.

Cartegena is a city with potential, it has history, a lovely seawall, and great architecture but it is a bit gritty. This hotel was mediocre and unfortunately the staff were quite rude. We don't expect much but someone working in hospitality aught to at least look up, even if a smile is too much to ask.

Only stayed the one night and wished after that we had more time. The city has a lot to offer and the hotel is well situated to access a lot of interesting sights. We found it to be a very comfortable place offering good value. Staff are courteous and helpful and the breakfast turned out to be possibly the best we had on our five week trip. The waitress that morning was the best!!

Wonderful Hotel

The hotel is close to the bus and train station. It is also an easy walk to most of the city sites. The restaurant attached to the hotel has outstanding tapas. While breakfast cost, it was very good. The staff are very friendly and all speak English. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the hotel.

Pretty good for your money

This hotel is very well kept. Within walking distance from the waterfront, Roman Theater, Polytechnic University. I also liked the fact that it is located less than 1 km from the train station, so you can easily carry your bags to the hotel. The breakfast was not included, but only 5 euros per person is a bargain. Not a lot of restaurants around the hotel, but there is a great tapas bar in the lobby, I recommend it.

Decent hotel near the Roman Theater

This hotel was conveniently located a few blocks from the Roman Theater. Unfortunately the areas around the hotel are a little run down. The staff was very helpful and nice. The beds were uncomfortable but we found that many of the hotels we chose in Europe had uncomfortable beds. I can't recommend this hotel unless proximity to the Roman theater is a priority.

The location is central and the staff (who speak English) are well prepared to point the way to the parking garage two streets away where the hotel has a deal for 9 euro/day parking. The hotel has a ten minute loading/unloading permit zone on the street front - however, there are steps to be negotiated to get to the lobby. The rooms are a good size and there is a hairdryer in the bathroom!

Good hotel, muy bonita city!

I spent half my time at a 5* Hotel right in the main town square with work but then changed hotel for the weekend to save on personal costs. Los Habaneros was great value for money - the location is central and just a walk away from the Plaza area and Roman Theatre (and the other interesting points of Cartagena). For a central location, it also has the advantage of being quiet at night traffic wise so there is not outside noise. If you are looking to save some money on hotel costs, but still have a comfortable stay, then Los Habeneros comes with my recommendation.

The internet was included in my standard room rate and even though I was low key with requests/needs, I got a great impression from the Front Desk staff that they are very accomodating.

General info; I stayed in Cartagena in late January, low season but weather wise, mild and free from tourists! On a late Friday afternoon, I was the only visitor to the Roman Theatre - which was quite a treat to have all to myself. Cartagena is not such a tourist hub anyway, but if you are not looking to lax out on the beach, then the winter is a great time to visit. Try some Tapa restaurants off the main walkway - Calle ?? - El Rincon is an example of a local seafood restaurant which is basic but with great food and very authentic. Up a side street opposite the City Hall.

Clean handy hotel just 10 minutes walk from the centre. Adjoining bar and restaurant with good prices. Friendly staff that cannot do enough for you. There is a car park but it costs 10 euros a day to park if you dont know cartagena just pay it its worth every penny and you know your car is secure.

Hotellet ligger godt i byen. Er noget nedslidt. Gammelt inventar, ingen kaffe/te på værelset. Ikke særlig charmerende. Den unge kvinde i receptionen var i første omgang ikke særlig samarbejdsvillig - men vi fik da opblødt hende lidt - måske det skyldtes sprogproblemer.
Men restauranten viste sig at være ret god. Meget søde og hjælpsomme tjenere og god mad.
