The hotel is fairly well located and is only a short walk (10 mins) to the marina.

We were there only one night just passing by on a trip from Valencia to Malaga. We were very tired when we arrived and didn't want to drive for dinner but restaurant was closed and didn't have room service at the moment. All that said, the price was fair.

Nice comfy and modern. Seems a little remote but only a short walk from the old town. Had room only so can't comment on service. Only gripe was lack of non slip bath / shower mat: potential death trap as both of us had a Torville & Dean moment when showering. Recommended.

About 20/30 mins walk into town. Dogs accepted NOT Dog friendly, not allowed anywhere apart from room and not allowed to be left alone in room!!!! Wasn’t allowed to sit by entrance and have a drink after a long drive as dogs not allowed in public area even though we had stood in reception with our dog for 15 mins checking in, extra charge for dog €20
Hotel adequate, looked fairly new, small grass area outside, supermarket next door otherwise quite remote
Was there at the start of Easter so parades in town center

Hotel is cute for one night. Comfortable beds. Decent brunch. It's not in the city center, but Cartagena is safe enough and walkable. The hotel does appear to be next to social housing, but that didn't bother us. Free parking on hotel grounds.

Located just outside of the city center, but still within a walkable distance. We like a walk. We were greeted on arrival and our room was ready. The room was very clean and well presented. Bathroom was just starting to get a little tired but perfectly usable. Good location, easy parking, near to supermarket and park and easily walkable to a choice of restaurants. We normally stay in the NH in the center which is slightly more glamorous, but this hotel was very practical and very good value for money for an overnight stay.

The check in was very efficient.
Our room was disappointing. The laminate flooring in the lounge area of our junior suite had lifted very badly which was a hazard when walking to the bathroom at night time. We assume water had seeped underneath at some stage. It should be replaced as someone will get injured due to this. There was also an issue with water leaking under the shower screen on to the bathroom floor, another hazard!
Our request for the iron & ironing board could not be met as it was apparently locked in another guests room for which they had no access?? We had to go out for dinner without ironing our clothes and on our return around 11pm one of the staff brought it to our room then. Surely a hotel of this size should keep in more than 1?
We were not comfortable walking from the town of Cartagena to our hotel at night time, especially walking through the park which is located next to the hotel. There appeared to be quite a number of drink/drug addicts frequenting this area. We would probably choose the other NH hotel nearer to the port area on any other visits.

Rooms are good, in need of some everyday maintenance care - shower head, amenity holder in shower, chips on furniture, nothing major but still niggling. General cleanliness of room was ok, bit some easily avoidable oversights like a plastic bag under the bed make it seem lacking.

Nightmare on NH Hoteles Street

This is a perfectly serviceable hotel with good sized rooms on the edge of the town but only 15 minutes walk to the historical centre. The problem when we stayed was that there was also a junior sports team on our floor who were unsupervised and out of control - lots of noise in the corridors, slamming doors, high jinx , laughing, shouting etc..Having travelled all day we went to bed early (10pm) but couldn't get to sleep due to the noise. 3 times we contacted reception and twice went down to reception but nothing was done, Eventually at 2.30 am they found us another room on a different floor. On checkout, I was astonished that they wanted to charge full price as if nothing had gone wrong! I refused and asked the lady on reception to get her manager to call me after the weekend. Two hours later she called me and said she'd spoken to her manager and they would drop the charge for the room if we paid for breakfast. A very sensible solution which I accepted and in the spirit of goodwill immediately booked a room for the following weekend. Imagine my disgust when the manager rang me 2 days later and said they'd changed their mind and would be charging me after all..I lodged a formal complaint nearly a week ago but have heard nothing. It's unbelievable that a multimillion hotel group such as NH could (a) have such poor customer service and be willing to renege on an agreement, and (b) be willing to engender all this badwill over €150! Hopefully common sense will prevail.

Lovely hotel. Bar could be better as it did not have much of an atmosphere. I was worried about the location after reading some reviews but it was absolutely fine. Plenty of parking outside the hotel where the receptionist said it would be safe. Short walk to the sights and the harbour or around 6 to 7 euros in a taxi. Breakfast was fantastic. So many choices in the buffet.

Everything was reasonable quality and the place was functional. The only problem we had was the room was way too hot and the airconditioner couldn't be turned to a lower temperature. We tried openjng the windows but it was windy and this wasn't a solution for the whole night. So neither of us slept much for three nights. Too hot, so how it would be in warmer weather would be very interesting.

A good “box” hotel with little amenities! Hotel is clean but lacks any ambiance for anyone staying more than a day. The color scheme is depressing after a 24 hour stay, there is no social bar or area for guests to meet. The restaurant reminded me of a hospital cafeteria; clinical at best. Food was inconsistent... & avoid the pizza for a quick snack for it’s the frozen-microwave version! I asked the staff why the room was almost silent and unwelcoming? The response was” it’s the politics of the hotel to keep everything low key so that guests can enjoy the silence “ really... ??? A hotel needs to have a bit of ambiance even if it’s being used by flight crews staying overnight! The neighborhood is low income and the hotel sits out of place for guests.... I asked the front desk staff for a place for coffee while we waited for our room to be prepared at check in time... we were there at 10:30 a.m. ; the response was there is nothing near here & if you want coffee you must buy the full buffet breakfast??? REALLY! There is nothing in the neighborhood... this is not a good place to walk around and take your chances at 10:30 am looking for coffee....

I have stayed at other NH’s; this is by far the most disappointing! NO AMBIANCE! NO AMENITIES! The lobby had two low sitting chairs at entrance... if you sit in other areas in the back; the staff questions what you need... not welcoming! Front desk staff was professional! Perhaps it’s the new concept for NH????

Stayed a night en-route and over all pleased with our choice. Modern hotel, nice reception, safe parking, walkable in to town, nice room etc etc. Air con was very weak and didn't bring the temperature down below 24 deg and even though it has a mini bar the prices are crazy. 3 Euro 70 for a small bottle of water - buy water in a shop as the tap water tastes nasty.

This was a good base for a few days sightseeing in Cartagena,without having to pay city centre prices. A taxi from the airport is under €80 return, or there is ample free parking. Buffet breakfast was imaginative and varied, and main meals were good value but choice was limited.

Stayed one night to visit cartagena. Hotel was only short walk from historic centre (about 20 minutes) with free parking and easy to get to off motorway. The room was nice size for very reasonable price with walk in shower and safe. TV had plenty of channels to choose in range of languages. Breakfast wasn't cheap but very extensive and set out in a large room so no crush to get to anything. very comfortable overall.

Note to local officials... Seeing disgusting graffiti on virtually every wall as you enter an area looking for your hotel does not inject confidence. The area is trashy, run down and in complete need of renovation. Right opposite the entrance to the hotel is some type of shelter where people are hanging out all day for food and clothing.
The hotel however is virtually new, the rooms are clean and more than adequate.
The front desk all greeted us warmly, professionally and did everything they could for a pleasant stay. The hotel has free secure parking behind gates.
The hotel is a 10 minute drive to the historic district.
Breakfast was excellent and included in the price.
My wife wouldn't walk anywhere because someone was throwing fireworks at cars and as it got dark it just didn't seem like a safe place to walk back too.

This hotel benefits from being new: it's clean, spacious, and uncomplicated with no frills--comparable to some 4* hotels we've tried in southern Spain/Portugal.

The rooms have an IKEA vibe. Bathrooms are pleasant in appearance but have practicality issues: the shower design lends to water getting on the floor, and the one bright overhead light is nearly useless for makeup application.

Reception is staffed by friendly, helpful ladies. The breakfast buffet is fine, though we had some issues ordering hard boiled eggs (they came out basically uncooked; to the staff's credit, they was willing to take them back and cook them more).

Parking is free. Downtown Cartegena is a 20-30 minute walk, and a cab back from the downtown NH hotel was about 7€

We thought that the hotel was really poor. The location was not only scruffy but a long way from the restaurants and historical landmarks.There was no outside space, no balcony, the bar was ridiculous with a very small choice of drinks and virtually no seats in a tiny area. The breakfast was poor with very little choice which was the same every day. The bed was rock hard and extremely uncomfortable. All in all one of the worst hotels we have stayed in. We paid extra for \"antiox promo\", whatever that is, but certainly did not get any extra.

El 8 de noviembre de 2025 olvidé en mi habitación del Hotel NH Campo de Cartagena una bolsa pequeña blanca de Pandora con un collar valorado en 100 €. Me di cuenta al llegar a Madrid y llamé de inmediato al hotel, pero me informaron de que el personal de limpieza no había encontrado nada. Estoy completamente seguro de que la bolsa quedó sobre el escritorio antes de salir, por lo que solicito que se revise el caso y se investigue quién accedió a la habitación tras mi salida.
