The room was very tired looking with fittings coming off the wall (like the towel hook), the bed was very uncomfortable (it felt like it hasn’t been replaced since the hotel was built…), and the room was unbearably hot, with no possibility to change the temperature apart from switching the heating off. All of this made us check out after only one night. This was very disappointing as this stay was to celebrate our anniversary.

1 Star Manager for a 4 Star Hotel !

Being an owner of an apartment on the resort my belief of the whole place was A1, however my time this week involved staying at hotel for 4 nights before reverting back to my apartment was in absolute shock at the lack pf professionalism and understanding of customers by teh \"manager\" to which if im honest led to a confrontation however was villified by onlookers who in turn told the manager that his actions were disgraceful !!
Needless to say that whilst the hotel was nice, overall staff was excellent the \"Manager\" needs to realise that he is in the \"hospitality\" industry and that his voice and shouting does not earn any resoect of customers...
I would say that Ona Hotels need to read this and take note..I am more than happy to discuss tthis directly however feel justified to air my opinion as the manger is not open to \"talking\" with paying guests !

Great location for the golf course which was great to play on. The room we stayed in was a little worn and could do with an upgrade especially the bathroom which had taps held together with tape, faulty lighting and faulty toilet flush. The breakfast was also not great as the hot food was always on the cold side. We did however have an ok break but the hotel itself in my opinion was not a 5 star experience more a 3 star one which was just ok for us.

Hotel location is stunning. Reception can be a little slow at times. Showers at pool not all working and some broken beds. pillows need to be replaced as they are very worn and too soft. Clubhouse service can be slow due to understaffing. spa area is beautiful and a lovely treatment although a little pricey. complimentary water on arrival nice touch.

We’ve stayed at Ona Mar Menor hotel a couple of times previously. The hotel is really well run and has all the amenities you would expect. The staff are great and the pool is gorgeous.
We did have an issue with our room with an air conditioning system that really didn’t cool the room down, but when we raised our dissatisfaction we were offered another room without any fuss - great customer service!
The hotel is starting to feel a little tired and could do with some TLC, but otherwise a fantastic base for our short break.

Very old property. Had construction going on so very dusty everywhere and air was hard to breathe. Loud parties every night and the surrounding area was very poor. If you are traveling to this part of Spain I would book something on the beach like La Manga.

I was very unhappy that there was not a single TV channel on the Tv in our room. When we arrived we were allocated a room on the front of the hotel. We were then Allocated a room at the rear with super views over the golf course and pool. When we reached our room the door lock was not functioning and it took 30 minutes to repair.

Arrived very late due to snow in UK. Check in staff very helpful and in room quickly. Very comfortable room and well equipped. The resort is a little bit tired but was perfect for my requirements. Golf seemed to be very busy. Breakfast was a great selection but a bit pricy at ninteen euros.Very satisfied and happy with my three night stay.

The hotel has great installations but it needs a better maintenance and care. Rooms are pretty confortables but are not well maintained. We reported that the blackout of our curtain was tear down and let the sun in in the morning but they never came to repair it. Also we reported that the shower drain was clogged but that also was not fixed.

We arrived at hotel with no booking but charged over £600, left with no where to stay, made phone calls and emails to hotel.com to retrieve money they advised they will contact hotel. Haven’t had any contact and also have bills of £200 for the phone calls.

Not 5 star in anyway. Breakfast is shocking barely any options and all cold everyday. Service all around the hotel is absolutely shocking, reception staff are rude and unhelpful, you are left sat waiting in all the restaurants to be served, 20/30 minutes inbetween being seated ordering drinks then another wait to order food then another wait for the bill. Booked a double room got two single beds. Reception said housekeeping would come to put the beds together but never did. Air conditioning is ridiculously weak. Limited food options around the resort and all so expensive for what you get. Area around is also poor. I am now chasing for a partial refund, have sent 3 messages and still no reply. Will not be returning.

Very nice hotel. If I could find any criticism it’s the bands they ask you to wear round the pool, obviously to differentiate you from random walk ins. Good idea but the bracelets just tighten but do not slacken, and as such are dangerous. Our 3 years old grandson pulled his tight and it cut the blood flow off to his hand and we had to urgently cut it off with a knife. Quite why it’s like that is beyond me.

What you will experience is low staffing overworked staff who try hard to please guests. Flaking paint, stained carpets, old air-conditioning (sounds like a jet engine), dirty pool water, creaking lifts.
On arrival you are left to fend for yourself. Room is not ready or complete. Cleaning staff do an outstanding job but are under staffed. There is no welcome package, no welcome drink (water) There is no help with suitcases. There is no introduction to the hotel, there is no help to your room to talk you through how it functions. Old fridges, TVs that do not have a satellite and showers that need an overhaul. Bedding is clean balcony is poorly, situated with permanent buzzzing noise. Staff are apologetic but are extremely understaffed. Not a five star experience just managing a shabby three star with Five star Costs.
This feels like a hotel that has been taken over by a large organisation whose only interest is making money and not looking after customers. Very disappointing as I love the area and have spent many years previously in the hotel where it was an exceptional five-star experience.

Stayed in the presidential suite for a week. Really comfortable and spacious. The hotel is great and food in the restaurants is great but they are very understaffed. The poor staff are run ragged and some lunchtimes we waited an age. Not the staffs fault they were great but the management need to address this issue as it’s not an isolated incident it was every day. Bit that aside it was a great relaxing holiday and would recommend the hotel

Stayed her a few years ago and was expecting a great stay this time, however. No air conditioning! It’s in the rooms but not enabled. Looking at the reviews they say they don’t offer this facility? (Air conditioning IS advertised on the booking platforms. Ceiling fan not working, just for show. They obviously don’t have any security. A couple drunks singing all night at the pool side (below our window) when I say all night I mean ALL night. Stopped around 6.30am. Talking of pools, it was closed! Beds were excellent so it was obviously a five star many years ago. Looking at the hotel I would suggest it was once time share who have long left and the place is under new ownership. 3 star hotel

The hotel is very clean & staff very nice. Stayed for four night's H/B. You need transport but is a very clean hotel, Evening meal was a set menu which was fine & the food was good. It is surrounded by villas and a golf course. I have a problem walking but found the hotel just fine ramps & lifts and the area around is pretty flat.

Recently stayed for 7 days at Ona Mar Golf Resort and Spa. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a problem in our room with an unpleasant smell in the shower area. Once reported, this was dealt with immediately. The hotel is very well maintained. I used the indoor pool on a couple of occasions which was beautiful and very relaxing. Overall, a great place to stay with easy access to motorway, nearby towns and restaurants.

For a top quality hotel on a 5 star resort we found it to be somewhat noisy.
The room was spacious but a little dated.
The only real problem was the bathroom. Whilst it had a good sized bath and hood sized shower. The toilet had no window or any kind of ventilation. Not even an extractor fan . This meant there was a constant unpleasant odour
Also who thought that putting a wood lattice window which looks directly into the bathroom at the side of the bed was a good idea?!
Unfortunately the balcony was tiny only large enough for 2 small chairs.
We did however enjoy our stay and the breakfast was very nice.

We were looking for a half board stay in the area, but not really interested in a golf stay-we we’re not disappointed. Yes there were a few minor issues when we first arrived, but these were sorted immediately by the very attentive manage Antonio Sanchez and his team. The room was great, the service personal and the food excellent. I thought they have been more interested in the golf, but be assured at Ona Mar Menor Golf & Spa it’s all about the guest-we’ll done.

This hotel is a little tired and decorated in the older spanish style, dark wood etc. We were attending a function which was very good, but today I’ve attended the local hospital for gastroenteritis. I’m not saying I caught it here, but I’ve been ill ever since.

I’ve stayed at least 6 times now with the hotel always a great place to stay and this time was great apart from the shower not working properly I reported to reception and was told there was a problem with that room s shower they where working on fixing my problem was I paid extra for the pool view but got a room with a shower not working going hot then cold not a good deal i feel I should get back the extra upgrade money I paid. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely helpful, even in the evening when we asked for a wine opener and ice. The grounds are beautiful, and have everything you need. It was nice to have a grocery store on the property to buy some wine and snacks and surprisingly the prices were very reasonable. Our room was very comfortable, beautiful bathroom, and nice balcony overlooking the pool area.

Our room no 201 smelt of sewage. We could not be moved as hotel was full apparently. Maintenance man tried to fix it and it was a little better for 3 hours and so we had a dreadful unhealthy nights sleep. Please ensure that Expedia guests are not allocated room 201!!!

We enjoyed our overnight stay. We have a seven year old boy and he enjoyed both the outdoor pool and the indoor pool. The bedroom was spacious and had tea/coffee making facilities and bath robes. The breakfast offered lots of variety.

Great stay at this hotel, facilities were great, breakfast was a bit overpriced but the food was good. Housekeeping was great, apart from having to ask for a toilet roll almost everyday. Pool was fantastic & its defo worth a look at the spa facilities, we found it on our second last day of the holiday, spa wasn't really advertised that well but the facilities were out of this world & spotlessly clean.

Extremely disappointed with this hotel. Very unfriendly check in service, what happened to the complimentary glass of fizz and no one to help with our bags.
Pool umbrellas all broken or torn and seemed a lot of non hotel guests lounging around.
Breakfast was a joke, cold, cheap ingredients, and a very limited selection. Awful!

I understand the difficulty's that the hotel trade is having at the moment so we booked as soon as we could. It was an enjoyable stay. However the sunbeds around the pool were
mostly broken, I reported and showed one sun bed to the guy working around the pool that had a broken piece of metal sticking out, the sunbed was still there the next day!
