The food is good, fairly middle of the road. The resort is gorgeous and an animal sanctuary which I live. The staff were kind and polite.

This is not the adults-only experience younger travelers might expect. The resort feels more geared toward seniors and has a very quiet, low-energy atmosphere. If you’re looking for a lively, child-free getaway, this may not be the right place for you.

The food was also very disappointing. I’m not a picky eater, but the quality was far below what I would expect from a 5-star resort. I’ve stayed at 4-star resorts with much better food.

To make matters worse, there was ongoing construction in two buildings — one near the main lobby and amenities, and one close to our room. We were not informed in advance and paid full price. The daily noise from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. made it hard to relax.

Overall, I would not recommend staying here and suggest looking at other options.

Really strict resort. We had multiple instances in the 24-7 buffet where we’d sit and a friend would join us, and multiple staff would tell us we can’t do that. One night we booked a table at a restaurant and said 6 or 7, because we weren’t sure if one friend would make it. Again, multiple staff voiced to us that if the booking says 7, we must have 7 people. The buffet was also not 24–7, it was closed in between breakfast, lunch and dinner, and you weren’t allowed to take food out. So if you couldn’t get ahold of room service, you couldn’t get food from the buffet and bring it to your room. Over all, extremely strict on the little things and some staff were rude. There was a server at the swim up bar that refused to help when our ball fell over the counter, behind the bar area. I asked him for help, he said “1 hour” and walked away to serve others, when I followed and asked again because I thought he misunderstood, he said he was helping others and then proceeded to try and serve people that walked up to the bar after me. The people were kind enough to tell him they can wait and to help me but we could all tell he really didn’t want to for some reason. After I explained to him what happened and I’m just trying to get the ball back for my friends, he made a rude comment to me while walking away…

The only good thing about the resort is it's nice staff! The room had furniture that you would be ashamed to put on the curb. The beach was totally eroded and full of weeds. The beach lounge chairs were old and dirty to the core (if they at least power washed them so they wouldn't be so sticky!). The food was OK, but definitely not 5 star hotel level. Most resorts have a place where you can get food out of the regular hours (like a sandwich or muffin) - at this place it's tough luck if you arrive after hours...
We also had a roach in our bathroom.

We recently stayed at the Palladium Yucatan Princess Adults Only and overall had a really lovely experience.

From the moment we arrived, we found the atmosphere to be incredibly calming and relaxing. The entire resort felt peaceful and well maintained, which made it very easy to unwind and enjoy our vacation. Our room was absolutely spotless, and we were very impressed with the housekeeping standards. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, attentive, and professional — they truly helped make our stay enjoyable.

One area that we found a bit confusing was the restaurant schedule. It was sometimes unclear which restaurants were open on certain days. We specifically tried to visit the sushi bar a couple of times, only to find that it had already closed for the evening. It might be helpful to have clearer daily signage or an easy-to-access schedule for guests so they can better plan their dinners.

The only small comfort issue for us was the pillows — they weren’t quite to our liking — but that’s certainly a minor personal preference and didn’t significantly impact our stay.

On our final day, we did experience one concern. Guests in the swim-out pool beside our room were smoking quite heavily in the pool area. We noticed that this didn’t seem to be addressed by staff at the time. We were slightly uncomfortable, as we didn’t want any smoke smell lingering near our room or to risk being associated with it. Paid for a romantic dinner waited over an hr at rodeo grill for chips then another 30 for the appetizer. 100usd later we walked out and tried for 2 hours to talk to managers. Still charged me. There were multiple fights on the property where police had to come. The spa is subpar for what is truely advertised and hydrotherapy is truely a joke dont fall for it. My second time there now and will not return.

Room was very clean, amenities were wonderful (favorites being the gym and event offerings), and the staff were so personal. While the restaurants were good, they were often notably slower than an average restaurant experience even with seemingly no crowd. The buffet and beach bar exceptions to that. The beach was relaxing and convenient. It is a more natural beach so we didn’t swim much even though the resort kept up with the kelp pretty well. Get to the chairs and cabanas early are patrons hold them with belongings and they can be scarce.

What I disliked the most was the fact that we were unable to book our restaurants in advance, which meant long line-ups every evening and poor service once we were actually in (it was typically an hour wait and once seated, at least half an hour before receiving the first course and sometimes also waiting for drinks). The resort should also take measures to control its wildlife: this is my fourth trip to Mexico and I’ve seen coati before but the ones at this resort are the worst - we were advised upon arrival to lock our patios because the raccoons could actually climb up and enter our rooms. We met a woman who just happened to leave coffee creamer in her room and forgot to lock the patio door and the animal entered her room. I had food securely stored in a zipped up backpack on the cabana bed by the pool, and the animal took the entire bag, unzipped it, and stole our food.

Speaking of food, that was hit or miss. Twice my steak was overcooked despite asking for medium rare. The drinks were also disappointing (I have never had a bad margarita in Mexico before but here they were heavily watered down and not flavourful). The service was not great. The beach was rocky with a lot of seaweed, which we expected and don’t blame the resort for due to the hurricane.

Overall, this resort was disappointing. Given how much we spent to be here for the week (the most we have ever paid for an all-inclusive) and given the fact that it is 5 stars, there is definitely room for improvement.

Spacious beautiful room, beautiful resort grounds, lots free activities. They have sport park to accomosate that; rifle shooting, golf , yoga, paddle boards. A LA carte restaurants are top notch. Buffet is good, but nothing spectacular. Beach is not best, narrow, rocky to enter, but still pretty. Buffet at the beach very minimal; burgers and ribs, shrimps too. Entertaimnent happening every day, plus DJ after the shows. 40 min drive from airport.

We absolutely loved staying here! We had a swim out room right near the party pool and loved it! They had activities everyday and the staff is so welcoming and sweet! The bellhop guys remembered us by name and everyday they greeted us everytime we saw him! The entertainment team is so much fun too! Saturday’s foam party is amazing and coco bongo was the best time ever! Only thing I will say that I didn’t enjoy was how early we had to get up to reserve a chair by the pool seeing that it’s first come first serve. 100% though would recommend coming here to anyone who wants to have a good time and meet some great people!

The only thing I didn’t like was being pressured into buying massages, excursions, gifts, etc. I think if people want these things they will approach them, it shouldn’t be the vendors approaching us. I will likely stay at a different resort next time because of this, but the food was good, weather was good, room was good, overall a wonderful time.

I traveled for my birthday. Nov. 20-23. We stayed in the room with the jacuzzi outside and also a soaking tub in the room. The suite was very spacious and nice looking. Some minor updates needed but overall it was a good stay. The speciality restaurants were good; the steakhouse was my favorite. The food was good with plenty of options. I don’t drink alcohol so the nonalcoholic beverages were lacking. I enjoyed my stayed here overall.

The rooms and grounds were very clean. The staff very good. Entertainment mediocre. Food good but nothing spectacular. The swimming pools were freezing cold water and my room had only tepid chilly water in the shower so I avoided washing my hair. I was told at the front desk to let it run for a full 5 minutes to heat up, but that did not do the trick.
This resort does not have the tropical feel that one would want when visiting the area as it is mostly granite and concrete buildings with a tiny tiny rocky beach.

Leaving a 4 star because we really did have a great time but this resort has some flaws. I wouldn’t be a repeat customer. Will you have a great time? Yes. Will you eat decent food for a resort? Yes. The drinks are not good. The sour bar mix they use has an odd flavour, and whatever they clean the reusable plastic cups with leaves this strange taste to the drinks. Bruschetta restaurant is the best.

We got upgraded to platinum room for free by being Expedia gold members. However, our room on the platinum side was directly across from the disco so the music was blasting till 1am. It never kept me and my husband awake but I could definitely see it affecting others. The rooms are dated, the showers need some serious upgrades. The grout is deteriorating and I thought at one point a mushroom would grow from the corners. Beds are moderately comfy and the auto AC keeps the room at a comfortable temperature.

The chlorine pools are very well maintained, they do a great job keeping them clean.

The beach is not great.. rocky and lots of seaweed. You have to walk 4-5 mins down to the sunset family side to get consistent sand. My husband actually injured his foot on a rock.

Beware of the beach excursion sellers. They say the cenote is private tour and it is a large group. Also they will quote you in USD, then convert it to pesos and charge you $20MXN to $1USD convert rate.

I’ve stayed at several true 5-star resorts, and in my opinion this property felt closer to a 4-star experience. Some bars seemed outdated, and while the room was comfortable, it did show some age. We stayed for eight days.

Pros:
Food is subjective, but as a picky eater I really enjoyed it. The beach grill was a hidden gem we didn’t find until a few days in and was one of our favorite spots. All restaurants had good food, though service was inconsistent. At times we waited a long time for water or drinks, and the Rodeo Grill took over two hours from seating to dessert.

The grounds are very well maintained, staff was friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of pools to choose from depending on your vibe.

Cons:
Restaurant service was often slow. At the buffet, our server frequently came to the table only once during the entire meal.

The constant selling of spa services was frustrating. Spa staff are positioned throughout the resort, so you’re pitched promotions multiple times a day, which gets old quickly.

Washcloths were extremely hard to get and rarely restocked, requiring calls to the front desk and long waits each day.

The basic internet was very poor, and you have to pay about $20 per week/per device for usable speeds. Streaming wasn’t realistic without upgrading.

The beach was very small and not very appealing during our January stay.

Overall: It’s a good resort, but nothing special. Having stayed at higher-end properties, I wouldn’t return.

Staff was pleasant and very fast and efficient. Check in was a bit delayed as only one check in person working making the air time about 35+min. Hotel was clean and the only issue we had was a clogged toilet during first night. The staff was called and came up within minutes to assist. Food options are all over. I would suggest visiting sister locations as this buffet seemed blended on flavor. A lot of varieties. Swim up bar was great and bartenders were fast and entertaining. Don’t forget the have men bring long pants as most of the food spots require and this was unfortunate as we only got a note about being dressed to enter and no dress shorts are allowed.

The only thing I truly enjoyed during my stay was the room service, the access to the pool from my room, the hibachi restaurant & the housekeeping service. Everything else was poor. The staff did not feel welcoming at all! I’ve been to many resorts and this is the first resort where I did not feel welcomed or wanted. Staff was not informative or welcoming. We were definitely not treated the same as other. The buffet food was not great either. Only employees that did feel welcoming were Israel from the front where he would greet us daily, Monica our chef from hibachi but was unfortunately treated poorly from her sous chef & other guest that embarrassed her in front of everyone. Our waiter Janette from the hibachi restaurant was also very lovely where we had a lovely conversation. Other than that I wouldn’t really recommend this place, the staff was very cold and unwelcoming.

Overall, our stay was somewhat disappointing compared to other all-inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at before.

The hotel facilities felt quite old, and the service was noticeably less warm and attentive than what we’ve experienced at other all-inclusive properties. There was only one restaurant that we truly enjoyed; the rest were below average. Breakfast options were very limited, with only one place available, so we ended up eating outside the hotel for the last few days.

What was especially disappointing was the check-in experience. The front desk never informed us that we were allowed to visit and dine at the newer hotel next door. We only found this out on our last day through other guests, which felt like a missed opportunity to improve our stay.

On the positive side, the room was very spacious, and housekeeping did a great job keeping everything clean and well maintained.

Overall, while the room size and cleanliness were good, the outdated facilities, limited dining options, and lack of proactive service made this stay less enjoyable than expected.

The resort is a little run down. The food was okay. The staff was not overly friendly especially in the 2 visitor lobbys. They were not friendly at all when I had questions. I wondered if it was because I was solo. The spa and their staff were amazing!! The Steak house was really good and the staff was friendly, especially Karen. I am used to the service and food from the Riu Resorts, that I have stayed at. It felt as though the employees at the Yucatan Princess were not very happy. I will not be going back to this resort.

Each day, we had to repeatedly follow up with housekeeping just to receive essentials like shampoo or towels. We also requested toothpaste through the concierge, but it was never delivered. At check-in, we were told beach bags would be provided in the room, but they were not. We reported these issues to the lobby multiple times, yet no action was taken.

Our room (junior suite) was very nice and housekeeping did a great job daily. The buffet was pretty good, some of the food items available each day were always over cooked but that is always a problem with buffets. Pools and swim up bars were very nice. Entertainment staff did a great job at main pool getting people excited and engaged. Didn’t care for the “men must wear long pants for dinner at restaurants” rule.

Overall, we had a great time here! The walls along the walk ways are dingy and stained with various colors. The amount of cups and debris along the side walks and stairways is an eyesore. A place of this scale should have grounds keepers walking around at all times, cleaning up garbage, wiping things down. The bathrooms near the beach never had toilet paper and smelt of sewer. Again, seems like something a grounds keeper could keep up with. The staff for the most part were pleasant to interact with. And others not so much! My friend and I booked separately, when she checked in she was given her room band and sent on her way, the gal seemed overwhelmed. The lady who checked me, spent several minutes talking about the amenities and shows they had that weekend. We would not have known about anything if we used the same check in lady. When making dinner reservations they scold you for standing in the wrong spot; there’s no specific instructions so when you approach a worker for assistance be ready to be yelled at! Everybody in line was shocked by the rudeness. The gals at the spa were incredible! Would definitely recommend booking with them.
The bars are a hit or miss; I feel like they are serving cups of sugar more so than alcohol. Drink at the Plaza Bar if you want to actually enjoy a drink. And OMG be aware of the Coatimudi’s they are everywhere!! They will take the food right off your plate if you turn your back too long. They climb onto the tables at the beach!

Our trip was fantastic and all the staff exceeded far beyond our expectations. The entertainment staff were definitely the highlight of the trip making it one for the books.

Only reason I wouldn’t give 5stars is due to the foul sewage smell in the shower and the limited options for vegetarians in restaurants.

However, that being said we would return :)

I love the employees at this resort they’re wonderful and attentive and always happy. I’ve been here twice. First time was in the spring. We couldn’t go in the ocean because it was loaded with Sargasso seaweed. This time it was December and you could get in the ocean, but there are so many rocks on the ocean floor. It makes it difficult to get out. The pools are nice. The entertainment is really good at this resort. Many of the people that I have met here are repeat customers. I think it’s a great place to unwind.
