Very nice pleasant clean and modern furnished hote

Pleasant stay, comfortable bed and amplespace in room, which was very clean and tidy with nice modern bathroom. The breakfast was ample and decent variety. I only dissatisfaction was that I was meeting friends from the USA during the day and there were no facilities to purchase coffee or tea or any snacks at all but would recommend a hotel and would stay there again. The hotel is nice replaced with walking distance of the old town and the port.

We arrived before normal check-in time with the intent of asking to just drop our backpacks until later in the day. However, the front desk staff, without prompting found an available room and checked us in early. This allowed us to securely stow our bags, freshen up, and head out to explore for the rest of the day.

The property was very clean including all areas and the room was spotless with excellent bathroom facilities.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Check in and out was effortless.
The reception, bar and breakfast areas were lovely and welcoming and the buffet breakfast was very good.
A very pleasant place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

A great wee hotel in a very convenient area.

This hotel is much cheaper than the Melia Alicante which we stayed in later in our holiday. It is obviously less up market but this hotel is fine in all areas and very conveniently placed on a great street for local shopping, restaurants and walking along the front. There are some great restaurants nearby for every meal. Above all we loved the balcony which was great for people watching in the evening whilst enjoying beer and wine from the convenient local store. The bathroom was fine and had hot water unlike our first room at the Melia at the end of our holiday. We saw some reviews complaining about the breakfasts, these were fine on our first 2 visits but the last day was unfortunately poor, when the coffees arrived cold and tasting poorly.

Chose this hotel as I knew it's location, both for access via road & proximity to the points of interest, also parking. The staff were helpful & friendly, the room was spacious, clean with good aircon. The tea & powdered milk in the room could have been better, but the staff sorted proper milk for us. Breakfast was fresh & tasty, with plenty of choice. The only disappointment was there was no spaces in the adjacent car park, but the staff suggested an alternative one about 400m away. This should be made aware on the website & perhaps give the opportunity to book a parking space when booking the room. We had dinner in the hotel the second evening, the choice was quite small, but the food was good and presented well & as expected a little more expensive than a local restaurant, but we had walked around the city all day & didn't want to trek out again, so no complaints with dinner.

Modern hotel centrally located in Cartagena

This hotel was perfect for our 2-night stay with convenient paid parking next door and a short walking distance to the historic centre. Our room had modern, clean wood flooring (no carpets), and bathrooms equipped with liquid soap, bath gel, shampoo/conditioner wall pumps. Front desk check-in gal was very friendly, courteous and attentive with map of the area and directions to sightseeing spots. We did not include breakfast so can’t comment on food. We loved Cartagena!!!

Hotel was easy to find from the motorway. Very clean and looked to have been recently refurbished. Our room was very quiet but towards the back of the hotel. About a 10 minute walk from the main old part of town with plenty of restaurants, shops & the main attractions. There were a few closer cafes and bars if you didn't want to walk all the way into town. There is a parking garage next to the hotel - 16 euros per day - or we found on street parking a couple of minutes back towards the \"submarine\" roundabout. Staff that we met were very friendly and helpful. We didn't try the hotel food. Only strange thing was that the WC's in reception were out of order all 3 days we were there - not really a problem but a bit of a drag if you were in the bar and had to traipse back up to your room on 9th floor and strange for a hotel of this calibre. Overall though would definitely recommend and we will stay if visiting Cartagena again.

We enjoyed our one night stay. We were checked in by a really helpful member of staff who advised us on parking (we managed to park for free).

The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was really good with plenty of choice - even a selection of bacon, eggs, beans etc.

I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel staff were professional and friendly, the room was spacious and clean with good in room facilities. We did not eat in the restaurant but the bar area was ok with great prices for a hotel bar. The surrounding area felt safe with a few bars and cafes nearby as was the local indoor market. The main st and old town are a short walk along with the other main attractions and train station.

Wi-Fi connection wasn't good, carpet in the bedroom was stained to the point where it should have been replaced, no view from the window, ugly old furniture and curtains, water was cut off for maintenance one morning during our stay, you could hear the neighbor next door in the plastic bath tub and the maintenance guy talk his head off through the air vent.

Lovely base in an authentic Spanish town

We found staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located within a 20 minute walk to the port and a 10 minute walk to the main shopping street and restaurants. We didn't meet many tourists and very few locals spoke English which we liked compared to other Spanish cities. The food was extremely cheap - the cafe on the corner charge 1.5 euros for a beer/coffee! The shopping was great for clothes and shoes.

On our last day they allowed us to check out later than advertised without charge as the hotel was quiet. The also stored our luggage without charge

Nice hotel for a City location. Seemed small and lact relaxation areas. Although the room was a good size and very comfortable, especially the large bed. Room lacked an electrical socket for the kettle therefore we had to leave the kettle on the floor?
Staff very friendly. Breakfast good.
It was a shame to have to pay for the parking.
On Sunday we had looked up good restaurants on the internet only to find them closed. So eating out was difficult considering we were in a major City centre?

This was our second visit to this hotel. The kettle in the room and the telephone didn't work but on speaking with reception these were immediately resolved with a new kettle and the telephone fixed. Very helpful staff. Good quiet hotel and good location for town. Taking about ten minutes to reach town and many historic venues to discover.

No A Good Experience

First, this was a prepaid reservation and when we got there, the lady at the front desk told us that they didn't have any record about our reservation. I showed her the confirmation number and all the info, and she insisted that we did not have any reservation. After argued for a couple of minutes, she finally gave us a room and said that the next day they will talk to Expedia. With 100º heating Spain, air condition was a must in the room. But after 20 minutes in the room, was still hot like outside. We reported to maintenance and a nice guy came and explained that we should give it more time to cool off the room. We went outside to have dinner and walk around, coming back almost four hours after to see that the room was still hot like a kitchen. Called again and the front desk lady told me that there is nothing she can do because maintenance staff was already gone for the day -it was almost midnight. We asked to change the room or something and the only solution was to bring a portable a/c that they didn't even know how to turn it on. Thank God instruction were in English too and we could sleep a little bit cooler. Next morning, we woke up in a flooded room with all carpet soaked because the portable a/c have a water container that have to be drain periodically. We checked out after breakfast and reported everything to the morning staff and no apologies or discount were offered.

Ii was a good stay with clean maintained rooms and restrooms. The buffet breakfast was fabulous. Though the room size is rather compact with window view of similar windows all around with utilities only in the backyard. Overall the staff is courteous and location is mid town.

Hotel is about dated and bed was very firm. Otherwise was a very no frills 3 star experience similar to what you'd expect from an off brand. Not horrible. Wouldn't be eager to try it again especially at that price. Regret the choice when there were other options nearby at a better price.

This hotel has multiple qualities: Rooms are comfortable, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Windows have double insulation so external noise is not a concern. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Good restaurants and city attractions within walking distance.

Very disappointed.No tea making facilities in room.We had to go down 4 floors for a cup of tea.No bar.Bar at sister hotel which meant a walk through the car park!The same for breakfast and evening meal if required.The room was first class.Such a shame more detail is not taken to supply the facilities needed in an hotel ie,bar and restaurant.

The hotel was about a 15 minute walk to the centre, on a main road, but the traffic noise was not a problem as there was good double glazing. Nice air conditioned rooms and staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, although we went to the centre of the town for drinks and food.

Good honest hotel

Good location within Cartagena, with the plus of on-site paid parking.
Four star rating is in line with standards here in Spain. Room was large, bathroom well equiped, and bed was quite comfortable.
Only stayed one night and didn't have breakfast there.
Once we arrived at our next stop - Granada - realized we had left our bathroom toiletry bag behind. Phoned the hotel and they were extremely efficient in getting this sent to us in Malaga (no time to get it to us in Granada).
As promised it was waiting for us in Malaga. Top grades to the hotel staff in helping us out with this. We are very grateful to them.
Fully recommend the Alfonso XIII for those wanting to stay close the Cartagena's center.

Great hotel in busy residential area

Hotel was lovely and so were the staff. It is surrounded by blocks of flats and busy roads. The excellent double glazing kept it silent inside but it was quite a walk to the interesting bits of town. On the plus side there were several cheap, quality, real Spanish (no English spoken!) bars and cafes nearby.

Cartagena and the Romans

This warm and friendly hotel is an excellent base to discover more of the Roman heritage sights in Cartagena. We watched the annual battle and victory parade which is part of the re-enactment week held the third week in September each year - nearly 6000 armed and dangerous Roman Centurians, Amazon Warriors and Cartagenans fight it out under the city walls with the inevitable Roman victory.
The hotel is spotless and the staff are welcoming.

Vi vill alltid ha dubbelsäng, men det fanns inte. I det här fallet stod sängarna dessutom långt ifrån varandra, vilket kändes sorgligt.
Det lilla fönstret vette mot en mycket liten innergård, så vi såg inte ens vad det var för väder. Lite källarkänsla.
Vid midnatt lät det som om någon möblerade om på våningen ovanför. Ljudet av klampande steg, dunkar och smällar pågick länge. Men det kanske bara var den här natten.

Men personalen var trevlig och tillmötesgående, rummet var fint och rent, duschen och sängen var skön. Även om lakan och täcke var väldigt konstigt med tre lager på varandra.

Esrancia agradable

La estancia en el hotel ha sido una una experiencia positiva en general. La cama es cómoda y la habitación está limpia. El personal de recepción (Mariano, Antonio y Vanessa) muy amables y dispuestos.
Un pequeño inconveniente es que no se puede reservar parking, si está lleno, te ofrecen la opción de aparcar en un parkig público cercano. .
