Our stay was great overall. Very stylish and clean hotel/ rooms, amazing breakfast with great variety ranging from standard options to local cuisine. The shower pressure in the room was a bit low and didn't improve much even when we reported and had it looked at. Customer service managers were kind and helpful.

I had stayed in this hotel several times over the past 6 years. They have a very friendly staff. I.e. Lily Meng at the lounge, as well as front desk staff. I also noticed some service improvement recently for the dining hall. It is worth to have a stay.

Well, the elevators are far too slow. Its clear that the elevators managing system is outdated and poorly set
Waiting 6 minutes, people seating on chairs to wait is absolutely not normal. Nor it is a ride of a full loaded elevator from 20th floor to stop 15 times to ground. Nor it is on these 15 stops, frequently the neighbor elevator stop at the same time.
Which make a ride for breakfast reach 10 or more minutes.
Its also clear that the management does not, or doesn't have a staff to check hosts conditions. Well, at least having this previous experience I left my room to airport 20 minutes later, since the ride from room could take as much time as the taxi to airport.
Another disgusting incident. I live in china for 12 years. I should have traveled around 60 hotels. In ALL of them, I have an early breakfast and organize my things later to live. I do not dress for meeting, I do not dress for traveling, I wear tee shirt and the room slippery. In this place, for some reasons that I can understand, wearing slippery at breakfast is not allowed.
Again, if the management cares customers, and if the management was someone IN the business, they would have known that this rule is all but regular on hotels in china, of any level and any flag.
And they would have warn customer by checkin or by a label on their slippery pack.
Now you count 6 minutes waiting, 4 minutes down, 2 minutes waiting, 3 minutes up, again 10 minutes down, breakfast took me in important part of my time.

The property has some age, and things like the elevator buttons should be updated. But overall, the facility and rooms are nice and the staff was very helpful.

At first, we had an issue with the internet being too slow for VPN/video calls, but when we told the staff, a technician did something to increase the speed and fixed the problem. They were very helpful

We had two weeks stay at the hotel and we enjoyed it very much, from the location with amenities around it to the buffet with great selections and perfectly brewed coffee. The staffs are well trained and courteous, the room spacious and clean. The only downside is the internet access. As business owner, it's hard not able to manage daily operations remotely.

Slightly older, but well kept.

Hotel is well maintained, clean, lots of water pressure, big bathroom, nice bed (usually too hard in China). The bar downstairs is nice, but overpriced. A coke is 50 rmb! Dinner buffet is excellent, and a good deal for hotel guest is 200 rmb, but free flow wine and beer.

I normally stay in Lujiazui but decided to try something a little cheaper. I saved about CAD105 (USD80) but wasn't worth it. The temperature in the room was just too warm. Climate control was either restricted or not functioning. The water in the shower was either scalding or polar. In the gym there was no AC and no hot water, and they wouldnt turn on the steam or sauna. Perhaps they were broken, but doors were open and nobody spoke English to explain. The bar is nice; people are friendly; location isnt bad. I'd rather pay a little more for a normal Intercontinental experience.

There were 2 large dark colored stains (and at least 2-3 smaller stains) on one of the 4 pillows in my room. The area covered by the stains were about 2 human palm size. I brought them to the attention of room service the second day and it was changed without issue but that should never have happened in a top tier International Hotel Chain and in a Club room.

Great hotel but look out for working women

Metro line is close by and is detailed on the hotel website, but they may want to consider using some other mapping besides Google as I was unable to access their map when searching for the location. Exit 11 and 12 which were the closest to the hotel, and regardless if you get out there or exit 1 or 2, you will see the hotel.
The hotel had an ATM, one of the two hotels that had an ATM (of the seven hotels I stayed at in China). I didn't get a free breakfast option and believe the cost for breakfast was about $30-40 US. The staff at the breakfast service were very good and attentive.
The one negative that was very disturbing to me was that prostitutes were working the hotel. My first night there, I got into the elevator with a Chinese couple and a Chinese woman by herself. As I left the elevator, I heard a noise behind me with that lone Chinese woman asking me if I wanted a special massage. I reported it to the on-duty manager, and while she seemed disturbed by it, I'm not sure if anything was done in the end. As I was talking to her, I pointed out the girl sitting with another woman by the front entranceway. As the manager was walking me to the elevator and as I was in the elevator, the other girl came over and got in the elevator. I then got and explained that it was frustrating that this other woman had got in the elevator. Upon checking out, regret was expressed to me, but no explanation about what had been done.

The hotel is showing signs of its age, but the staff are all very professional, and helpful. Which can be a rare thing in China. Breakfast is good, and there is plenty of choice. Rooms are cold if you switch the aircon off, because the windows are single glazed. We would return, because I like the staff.

Overall this hotel is at the Pudong main road district and it is very convenience for you to go anyway by taxi or either walk. In general we are happy with our stay, staff were very friendly and helpful.
When we checked in, the girl was laughing when we declined the free room upgrade with 250CNY per day, per person breakfast add on since we thought it was too expensive, maybe she thought it was a reasonable price.
Later we complained about the room condition and they upgraded the room for us without any up-sale.

The stay in the hotel was excellent, the concierge was very professional and he had all the packaging materials (strings and masking tape) on hand to assist hotel guests.

I ordered room service and the food I ordered was delivered to the room within 10mins. When I spoke to the room serivce staff and asked how long will the food be delivered, he informed me that it was 20minutes as stated on the promotion brochure but he was concerned and asked if it was urgent when I mentioned that I was feeling hungry then. To my surprise, the food was delivered within 10 minutes, that was excellent service.

Very pleased with my stay there although the it was my first time.

Great hotel, won't disappoint

Very, very solid 4 star hotel. Great room and service. Location isn't top notch (not near Bund or Financial District) but is very close to metro line (line 2, which is the most useful line) and to great restaurants and malls. Pool/fitness center is good but not very luxurious (which is okay as this hotel caters to business travelers more so than luxury and/or family). I didn't have access to the lounge but I'm sure it is fantastic. Overall, a fantastic hotel with very reasonable rates.

The rooms were exceptional! They offered an upgrade including breakfast and use of the Executive lounge for a minimal charge. The staff were extremely helpful and all were well versed in the English language. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Mishandled internet fee conflict...Expect much better service from an Intercontinental

Expedia specifically listed the inclusion of free internet access for our room and all other rooms. First night, the internet logon page presented a pay wall. At approximately 0630 the next morning, I visited the front desk to resolve the situation. They checked the reservation, and said internet access was not included. Since I neglected to bring a complete printed copy of my reservation, they generously offered me access to their club room on the 24th floor to print my receipt. Club room printer was out of toner, so it took a while to print a receipt. Returned to the front desk, the young lady accepted my receipt and said internet access would be free. Returned to my room just before 0700, and the phone rang waking my wife. The young lady who just assisted me, said there was confusion and there would be a charge for internet access. OK. I was not happy (yes, I did raise my voice). I return to the front desk, and the assistant manager is already there checking out the Expedia website. He apologized and said there will be no charge. When I checked out, they already charged my credit card for using the internet. Of course, I objected. Then, they looked more carefully at their computer screen and saw that I was not to be charged.

Being told “no” over the phone minutes after being told “yes” in person is poor customer service. What upset me was the phone call to the room that woke up my wife.

Food and drink prices are extremely high even by US standards.

I was in Shanghai in August. It's HOT and HUMID. I'd expect the Hotel to keep the air up. Maybe I'm spoiled but as an example....

My room was on at 22 floor. The day I checked out I left my air conditioned room and stepped into what felt like an un-airconditioned central area. Within the 30-60 seconds it took to get to the first floor there was sweat dripping down my face, back and chest.

It's one thing to put the air conditioning low to save energy but being covered in sweat just from going from the 22nd to the 1st floor seems kind of near unacceptable.

Otherwise, everything else was great. So maybe the true recommendation is this hotel is great except maybe not in the summer.
