The elevator doors need to be wiped clean daily. The microwave in the breakfast area needs to be kept clean.

Also, I noticed a guy who I know was not a guest, drive up to hotel and park… walked straight to the breakfast area. Helped himself to a topped plateful of food/orange juice and left…

I brought this to the attn to the young man whose name was “Rush”…he acted surprised.

Needs to be off cell and be more watchful. All the staff in the reception area was just laid back on their cells…NOT a good impression whatsoever.

Great for a weekend trip. Room was small but bearable, lobby smelled like dogs, breakfast continuously ran out and had to wait 30 mins for next round, no pool, pet friendly so heard dogs whining or barking all night but overall was still a great stay. LOVED the Dove body wash/shampoo/conditioner.

The shower glass was not very clean nor was the shower base. There seemed to be rust or something of that sort on the caulking. Most of it was painted over and peeling. The hallway carpets were not very clean at all. Nice facility but definitely needs a serious walkthrough and needs some touchy up. Maybe more handy & cleaning staff. As the City of Portland continues to grow you’re going to need to be top tier. Thanks

The hotel and lobby were excellent. Unfortunately the hotel wi-fi was sub par and kicks you off. Shower gel was totally empty so housekeeping isn't checking things as they should. Over all, I would stay there again if I don't mind these inconveniences.

To begin, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional hospitality and welcoming atmosphere provided by the staff. The property was immaculately clean and exuded a pleasant aroma. I was particularly delighted by the complimentary coffee and tea service, as well as the daily availability of breakfast and happy hour. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment and anticipate returning to it during my future visits to Portland, Texas.

Room service was late and didn’t even make the room the next morning. We left our dirty towels hanging in hopes they would replace them with clean ones. We went out for the entire day including a beach trip just to come back to NO towels. They took our dirty ones and didn’t replace them.

Breakfast was ok. For a busy holiday weekend they should have been more prepared for a larger crowd with families coming down for Breakfast. The room was clean but the people upstairs was very loud. Told the front desk but not much was done. Overall the hotel was ok and clean.

Great, budget-friendly getaway!
We had a quick getaway and really enjoyed our stay. Our corner room was clean and basic, but nice, quiet, and had a great, comfortable bed. The 24-hour coffee and tea service in the lobby was a wonderful perk! The hotel was busy due to its close proximity to Corpus, but it was still very easy to get to. The staff was incredibly nice, helpful, and accommodating. Best of all, the cost is very family-friendly. Highly recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at avid Hotel Corpus Christi–Portland. The hotel was exceptionally clean, modern, and well maintained. My room was comfortable, quiet, and the bed made it easy to get a great night’s sleep. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which was especially appreciated in the Texas heat.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful from check-in through check-out. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety of options and was a great way to start the day. I also appreciated the convenient location—it was close to restaurants and only a short drive from Corpus Christi.

I was in town for new-hire onboarding at CHRISTUS Health, and this hotel was the perfect place to stay. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Corpus Christi/Portland area.

Booked a room here as a last minute weekend trip to visit Corpus and the surrounding area. We were very pleased with how clean the hotel, room and bathroom were. It was very close to fast food restaurants, Walmart, Academy and a movie theater. We were a little bummed that there was no pool but we were heading to the beach anyway so it was fine. We were told that the rec center nearby had pools and could go there as an option. Loved the comfy king size bed, and the tv was nice and big with a variety of cable channels to choose from which was nice. The hot breakfast (included) was average, plus yogurt, bagels, and cereal options. They had pretty good coffee too. The bathroom was very clean! Aside from not having a fan, it was perfect. The only downsides to the room itself were that our door stuck and we really had to push it to close it, and the floor was a little slippery the whole time. Seemed like too much cleaning agent was used or something but overall, not a huge deal.

They have a pretty nice coffee bar set up available all day and night. I didn't eat the breakfast but it looked good. Didn't interact with staff other than check in but they were helpful. The bed was pretty decent and had 4 pillows!! The room was extremely humid maybe a dehumidifier would help. The floors in the room felt a little slippery. Overall it wasn't bad just needs a few updates.

Breakfast was okay this time. Saw the eggs being made in microwave. Room was clean -ish. Whatever they mopped with left small black hairs- appeared to be animal like. AC in room 327 wasn’t cooling well. Room was humid. Bed sinks in, was hard to get out of and uncomfortable to sleep. Outlet near AC unit had black marks around it as if outlet blew in the past also mold near floor trim. Water pressure was next to none. It was a quiet place, ok to lay your head for a couple of days. This was our 2nd stay at this property in a year. The first time was definitely better.

We arrived and went to our room where we noticed that the floor was a vinyl material rather than carpet, which should be great because it's easier to keep clean. The floor felt slippery, however, which was odd. After a shower my girlfriend noticed her feet were Black. We wiped a towel on the floor and it came up digustingly dirty. I notified the clerk who told me that to change rooms I'd need to pack up and bring everything downstairs, turn in my key and then get issued another room. I packed and we left. Because I booked through Expedia they tell me that I have to go through them to get a refund. I'm currently working on that.

I stayed 4 nights. The first night the air-conditioner smelled like mold and was very loud. After trying to sleep with that smell I decided I couldn't stay there 3 more nights. The room appeared clean but the noise and the humid cold air just smelled like mold. I requested a new room the next morning. I moved to the new room and the air-conditioning smelled better, not quite fresh but much better. It was a humid cold, though, that made the bedding feel damp almost. It is very hot and humid in south Texas but I've never experienced such humid air-conditioning there before. This room had some black streaks (tar?) on the floor and I found toenail clipping on the floor. NOT MINE!!! The water pressure was extremely low. I know that the area is running out of water so maybe they were conserving. I asked the desk if there was a water problem but got no reply. The guest laundry was closed. I appreciated being moved out of the moldy room and the staff was polite especially the ladies that cleaned the rooms. The bedding was clean just damp feeling from the humid ac.I didn't try the breakfast. I dont think I would stay there again due to the humid ac.

Check-in was a breeze, fast a d efficient. I was even allowed to check-in a bit early too.
Pros: A very comfortable mattress. Each room has an ironing board and iron; flat screen tv; cubby hole spaces to place clothing and hooks & hangers. Breakfast was spot on and offered a variety of items including scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes and sausage. A couple of dry cereal options; yogurt; bagels; bread for toast; fresh fruit including bananas, apples and oranges. The coffee bar had a selection of teas and a coffee maker with creamer, which was open and available 24/7.

Cons: the room floors were vinyl tiles made to appear like wooden planks. IDK what was used to keep the floor clean, but it also made the floor just a bit slippery to my tennis shoes.
The bathroom was well appointed and modern, wi5h liquid soap, hand cream,. (in the shower) shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Shower only, no tubs in the standard rooms. One rather big issue or concern was the plastic shower floor. IDK if it was the shower pan itself or the cleaner used in the shower, but once it became wet while using, IT WAS ALSO DANGEROUSLY SLIPPERY!! The only resolution to the slippery shower floor was to place a hand-towel onto the floor during use of the shower to prevent a slip and fall accident from occurring!! Seriously. This is of particular concern as the shower doors are made of glass, and i am sure a slip and fall in the shower would result in a serious accident.
Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Front desk called me at 6p the day of my reservation to cancel my reservation for 2 rooms because of maintenance issues. I asked him where he had made my family of 5 alternative reservations, and he said that he wasn’t able to do that. I asked him if that sounded acceptable to him, and he just apologized. The manager of the hotel called me to tell me the same thing and that housekeeping hadn’t realized that the AC wasn’t working in 1/2 of the hotel until 5p. She went on to say that they could accommodate 1 room. I told her that was unacceptable and if notifying a guest at 6p was also unacceptable.
