Very friendly and helpful reception staff, particularly Ms. Ryzza and Mr. Khaled Shawky who were very helpful to solve a cancelled first night reimbursement after a flight cancellation. Excellent restaurant available in the hotel as well.

Not \"the\" Movenpick you would expect.

First and most importantly, this hotel is located in Al Shuwaikh industrial area near the sea port so don't expect services, restaurants or entertainment here, you need a car to move around and it's quiet a distance to the nearest live area as the traffic is sometimes very hectic. Although rated 5* the hotel is not even close to 4* as it's very old and designed to look very historic and classic old. The hotel atmosphere is very pleasant with good staff, however, it lacks focus in cleanliness as the hotel is old and needs more attention to details. The poolside rooms are very spacious and very welcoming but the furniture is not so luxurious and it looks of a local made. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I thank the management for doing their best to satisfy the hotel residents.

A pleasant surprise

Accidentally booked the wrong Movenpick Hotel in Kuwait. Because we prepaid they wouldn't change it which meant we were not on the beach and we stayed quite far from our daughter who works in Kuwait. From the front, the hotel looks unimpressive, but the back is a different story. The hotel is an old-fashioned hotel designed for the comfort of wealthy businessmen doing business in the free trade zone. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is good and the amenities are to[ notch.

Neither phones worked in the room so could not arrange room service, transport etc., without visiting reception. This was resolved on the 2nd time of asking the next day.
No room service menu in room either.
No emergency details on inside room door showing escape routes - I thought that was a legal requirement?
Location pretty poor.
Concirege was excellent.
Great breakfast.
Very pleasant staff.
Nice late check out at 4pm.

The Movenpick Hotel offered a pleasant and enjoyable stay. This hotel is where old meets new- cozy and homelike feeling with a modern twist. Hotel was clean and quiet, filled with lovely guests and super friendly staff. I loved the garden and the pool area. I only wish the pool would stay open to guests longer, the pool area closes at 6 pm.

The pool was filthy, the hotel was tired, old and lacked standard 5 star amenities in the room.

I found a dead bird on my terrace (extremely stiff and smelly) so obvious it had been there a while.

The hotel exterior was tired, filthy and lacked any resemblance to the glorious imagery.

Overall, I had to leave early it was so bad.. The \"white\" sheets were potentially white some years back, but had a hint of brown to them...

The staff were very pleasant, happy and friendly... The internet in the hotel was slow, I required both internet and tv fixing in the room after checking in.

My room had no iron, no ironing board upon arrival.

The drains smelt like they were backed up... Overall I had no choice but to check out early due to the fact it was way below satisfactory...

Overall, one of the worst, most tired hotels I've stayed in for some years.

The welcome at reception was wonderful though and very nice people of the front desk. Past that.. nothing good to say which is a shame as I hate to give negative feedback.

Excellent staff make this a worthwhile choice!

I've stayed at this hotel a number of times now and will return again I'm sure. There's some drawbacks to the location - it's in the middle of a seemingly permanent set of roadworks and there's not much else around, plus there can be a smell of drains that I'd guess coincides with high tide. Somehow these don't seem to matter much and I think that's largely down to the welcoming nature of all the staff. The manager (I guess?) is awesome; really friendly and jovial, and it seems that his example filters down through the rest of the staff. Rooms are a little dated but comfortable and large. Breakfast buffet is extensive and whilst not being up there with the very best in the region (Sofitel take a bow here for me), it's still very decent. Pool area is spacious, and there's an outdoor shisha style area as well.

Busy conference in Kuwait, so booked 2 rooms at this hotel for 2 nights, on basis that claims to be 5*, Movenpick brand and half decent reviews.

Appalling from the start. Tried to give us smoking rooms and then “found” some non-smoking rooms, one of which I rejected for a strong chemical smell.

Furniture and decor very tired, mattress collapsed, dirty, had not been vacuumed and service no better.

No iron and ironing board in room, so arriving at 1am I waited half an hour and instead of what I’d asked for I was brought a plate of fruit! I just wanted to go to sleep. Another 15 mins still nothing. Finally after calling to reception again the iron arrived.

We checked out after the first night, with the hotel refusing to refund our 2nd night, despite the clear mis-descripton. Oh, and we paid £150 per room per night. Outrageous.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful during my stay.
I would say rooms were nice and spacious.
However the location means sometimes there’s just a weird smell kind of like fish but didn’t overly bother me.
The rooms aren’t as sound proof as on the weekend I can hear early wake up calls or people/kids in the hallway.

Overall it was pleasant a nice hotel secure and pleasant staff.
I was a bit disappointed I couldn’t let my female friend use my toilet as they won’t allow you in a room without a marriage certificate lol

The food quality is very poor as we ordered our lunch and dinner in the room. Also we needed Panadol, surprisingly it is unavailable and the reception staff says \"we are not a pharmacy\" so we had to drive to Shuwaikh to get one.

- Ordered a cot bed for my 10 months baby and was shocked to see the cot that the hotel provided, it was dirty, no mattress, torn up, old...

- The pool was always dirty, I am sure that they don't clean it up on daily basis.

I travel a lot both for business and leisure. This was a rather unpleasant experience which is very uncommon for hotels of such caliber. The hotel overcharged me for breakfast. Initially the hotel staff acknowledged excessive billing and promised to rectify the problem with hotels.com. However it has been 7 days and I have heard no further updates on this issue. Additionally the hotel is rather isolated and out of dated.

Amazing Hotel in Kuwait!

This is one of Kuwait's finest hotels. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Abdul made some special efforts this weekend to help and assist me.

The location is perfect for a quiet weekend away from the busy city. Food is excellent and you are spoilt for choices.

All hotel facilities are very good including the lovely swimming pool including a shallow children's poo. It is also very pleasant to sit outside in the garden in the evening and you can also hire a small tent for a small fee. There are loads of tents plus a large video screen showing music videos/football matches.

The hotel is conveniently located near all major attractions and it will take just a short ride by car or taxi to get to these places.

I highly recommend this hotel to people of all ages and abilities. And 'little people' are well catered for. The hotel also provides a free pick up service to and from the airport and some of the major shopping areas.

Most wonderful Hotel in Kuwait City

It is always a pleasure to stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff are excellent, very customer-focused and oriented and take the greatest care of all guests.

The food at this hotel is fantastic and great care is taken to ensure that people with all kinds of dietary requirements are well catered for. The facilities are brilliant. There is a lagoon-shaped outdoor swimming pool and a children's pool. A life guard is on duty at all time to keep an eye on things and to ensure everyone's safety. A small gym takes care of all fitness requirements and there is a play ground for the children.

The hotel is close to all places of interest and is situated away from the busy town centre which makes it an ideal place for staying in a quiet location and yet not being too far away from local amenities.

This hotel caters for people of all ages and abilities and is ideal for singles, couples, families and getting together with friends.

I recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay in a comfortable, accommodating and pleasant hotel that will make your stay a memorable one.

Wonderful Hotel close to all Amenities

This is one of the best hotels in Kuwait you can stay at. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. It is in a quiet location away from the City Centre and yet within easy reach of all places of interest.

There is plenty of car parking. A small pool and slide cater for the children and there is a deeper adult pool in the shape of a lagoon. A gym takes care of all your fitness needs. There is also a children's playing area.

The breakfast buffet is amazing, taking care of all your dietary requirements including vegetarian. The small café serves excellent tea and coffee plus ice cream and cakes.

The restaurants serve excellent food, including Italian pasta, pizza, vegetarian and meat dishes. The outside garden is amazing. You can just sit there and relax, have some food and soft drinks, listen to some music or smoke a Shisha if you wish. This garden is something different at night when the atmosphere becomes more Middle East.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone, whether they are a single traveler, a couple or a group of people (including business).

Bad experience with Mövenpick Hotel Kuwait

My experience with Mövenpick Hotel Kuwait is a total disaster.

First, as soon as I arrived to the hotel, the manager told me that I have arrived to a wrong hotel, even though all the signs around saying that this is the Mövenpick hotel! The manager said that the Mövenpick is just a cross the street. We went to the other \"Mövenpick\" hotel and they gave us the room. Later, I discovered that they have transferred us to \"The Convention Center & Royal Suites\" which is just beside Mövenpick and they still insisted that it is Mövenpick! Like if we are fool! No apology or upgrading or anything provided.

Second, they had wedding every night (I stayed for 5 nights) and the noise was really a nightmare till 1 or 2 AM. In some cases, police officers came to the hotel to manage the crowd! In one night, I went to purchase some food and drinks from outside and surprised that all the hotel doors were closed because so many people were clustered around the hotel to attend the wedding while the hotel already reached its max capacity!!!

Third, the furniture and bathroom were old and ruined.

I really do recommend that Hotels.com further investigate this issue and check the authenticity of this hotel to the famous high class Mövenpick hotels as this hotel hardly earn a 3 stars hotel.

Moevenpick Kuwait in February 2016

Once again, I had a very enjoyable stay at this fabulous hotel conveniently located outside the city centre of Kuwait City. As always, the staff are very polite, pleasant and they take care of all the clients' needs and requirements. The hotel has a relaxing atmosphere and caters well for people of all ages and abilities. The amenities are excellent including swimming pool, gym, play ground and large garden. The ideal place to bring the whole family or simply have a wonderful weekend being well looked after.

Transport to and from the airport and other places of interest is provided by the hotel and they have a brilliant breakfast buffet that caters well for people with all kinds of dietary requirements such as vegetarian, diabetic or vegan.

I have been staying at this hotel regularly since September 2015 and always look forward to going back which is usually every month!

Superb Hotel close to all major Attractions!

This hotel accommodates the needs of all travelers, be it single, family, groups or couples. The hotel is in s quiet location away from the city centre and has excellent facilities such as swimming pool, restaurants and a cafe, plus a gym and childrens' playground. Something for everyone.

The limousine service is superb. Pick up from the airport is included plus various trips to local places of interest are arranged, too. Superb service.

All staff are very friendly, courteous and will do their best to accommodate guests' needs. The outdoor dining facilities are brilliant.something to look forward to and enjoy in the evening.

I am coming back every month and will stay twice this month over. Christmas and New Year.

Highly recommended.

Most Recent Stay at the Moevenpick Hotel in Kuwait

Once again, I stayed at the Moevenpick Hotel in Kuwait. It is always a pleasure to be back at this hotel. All staff are very friendly, polite and accommodating in everything they do. They always have and make time for you. The atmosphere is very friendly and they accommodate for people of all ages. The dining and recreational facilities are excellent. And the hotel is not far away from all the main attractions such as the City Centre, the Avenues Shopping Mall (massive, you can spend a few days in there) or water sport activities, and museums/markets. If you want a truly fantastic weekend and totally relax and enjoy yourself, stay at this hotel. Highly recommended. I am going back over both Christmas and New Year (two trips).

Comfort and Quality at its best!

The Moevenpick in Kuwait near the Port is my favourite hotel in Kuwait City. All staff are very polite, friendly and show great care for guests. they create the kind of atmosphere you want whilst away from home and staying in a hotel. The facilities such as the swimming pool are great and good fun. Food is excellent and prices are normal. It is very easy to get to local amenities such as The AVenues Shopping Mall, The Scientific Centre and the Beach. I have already booked my next stay for November!

Amazing 5 stars hotel in a quiet area...

It was my first time in Kuwait and I had to chose the \"BEST\" hotel for the trip upon which MOVENPICK HOTEL (In Shuwaikh area) was selected.

I got my rented car from the airport and went straight away to the hotel (took 12-15 mins).

Upon arrival to the reception, I was greeted by ever smiling SYRA. She made my check in as smiling & smooth as possible.
I was also met by JOYCE who explained me about the hotel & everything.

Complimentary water & breakfast was included. (2-3 ARWA 500 ml water bottles)

Breakfast timings were 6:30-10:30am everyday and I must say, the food was YUMMY!! Thanks to ASSEM & his team...wonderful service I must say!!

Housekeeping...reception...room service...every single service was prompt & outstanding!!

Whether the staff had anything to do with you or not, every single staff at the hotel would greet you with a hello and a smile :)

Swimming pool area was clean and maintained well...Had a lot of fun here.

Although, I had paid a lot for the stay, but it was all WORTH IT!! So much that I had extended my stay from 4 to 5 days...

Thanks to Syra,Joyce,Assem,Khaled,Kristine and all the staff at Movenpick Hotel Kuwait.

You guys ROCK!!! Keep it up :)

The staff is good. The hotel seems to be an old building. the room is not clean as it should be. The bed is not comfortable and you will feel itching once you touch it. The breakfast is boor. I forgot my shirt in the room after i left and when i called back the hotel to ask about it they said it is not there; they did not even called me back. I had to call twice so the room service has sold my shirt in a minute.

Nice hotel, close to the port

The hotel has spacious rooms and very clean also has 3 restaurants and a tea launge. There is an excellent patio atmosphere at night. Location is very close to the Kuwait University, the the Avenues Mall, and the Airport and bit far from downtown.

The staff at the hotel from reception, to concierge, restaurants room service everyone was very professional, friendly and overall excellent! Extremely kind and caring!!! The hotel 's location was for us the only ( big) let down! Something that unfortunately can t be changed or improved by the fantastic people that work at the Movempick

Superb staff and service

The hotel itself wasn't the best as it was fairly dated and could do with a refurb. But the hotel staff and service was second to none - they took their time to greet you by name whether it was at the desk or when calling on the telephone for any services.

Would definitely use again for business!

There was a problem with the room I booked when I complained I was upgraded to bigger and better one, they even got me a cake on my birthday as a surprise, that was amazing thing to do. Thank you
Breakfast is great lots of variety
The only thing I didn't like May be the location which was a bit far from centre of the city.

Very good people with lots of genuine care

My positive surprise with this hotel started when I received an email notifying me of the free airport pickup. This was followed up by another pleasant surprise of in car wifi during the ride to the hotel. Andre at the reception was another amazing character. Although my dining experience could be better, my three day stay was very pleasant and I would use this hotel again.

every thing was perfect except for...

The pool! It is mentioned that the pool is all season andbthen discovered that is not true. There is jo heater in the pool and the water was freezing unfortunately. When i choose the hotel i was searching for a nice pool and play ground for kids and these are major amenities to look for when you are traveling with kids.
Other than that really every thing is exceptionally perfect and we received the best welcoming and service. Staff are great.

Not bad

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel is beautiful, but the thing that I didn't like was the location of the hotel. We kept hearing construction noises all night and the smell of sewerage can be smelled from our room that made it kind of hard to sleep.

Not impressive at all

They didn't find my booking when I arrived claiming that I booked the night before! The room smelled like sewage and bed sheet had holes in it. I called to check out and the operator didn't tell the front desk so they called me an hour later to ask if I wanted to check out!
