I was pleased by my stay here. The hotel is located a few minutes from the Maliya Bus Station. It is located about 10 minutes from the Mubarakiya Market.

This was my first time in Kuwait. I was satisfied with the stay and I'll consider this hotel again on the next visit.

The hotel's amenities are fine, worth the money, and it's a good location, near many buses and businesses. But the wifi was absolutely terrible. On-off-on-off for the whole four days. I had to phone the desk constantly to ask them to switch the 6th flr router off and back on. A couple of times the staff became testy when I requested. So because of that I might not recommend.

OK for an overnight stay

This place was just OK. I look for budget hotels in safe areas when I travel and this one fit the bill. However, there is nothing near the hotel. No restaurants, no attractions. I felt very isolated. And the desk clerk that seemed to be on duty each time I needed assistance, was a bit surly - as if I was bothering her (I did take her away form her cell phone). If you don't need much, this place is ok for a night or two.

Comfortable, clean rooms with nice bathroom, including a powerful shower. Very refreshing after a hot day out! Helpful staff on reception. Nice Indian restaurant nearby was a bonus. Airport shuttle very useful at a cost of 6KD. Would stay here again.

For the price, it is a good place to stay.

The price was way way cheaper than the other places in town. It was okay. A lot of 1970 looking carpet and old fixtures, the staff were quite slow because the computers were messed up. For the price, it is a good place to stay.

I was going to give this hotel a great review - until the lady at the front desk tried to scam me out of money. The hotel advertises a free airport shuttle. Upon arrival, I was picked up from the airport on time. Friendly driver. Easy check-in. Clean room. Good breakfast. Everything was perfect. Upon check-out the lady says \"did the person you checked out with talk to you about payment for shuttle\" - as soon as I brought up the fact that it was free - she went silent.

Felt not secure. Resident makes noise outside the room. I had to leave one day earlier.
Management did nothing for the noise. I asked about the shuttle to take me to the airport and the answer was I had to request it when I made the reservation; I don't know how

Extremely worn and disappointing hotel.

I was lucky enough to get an upgrade to a suite room, and I can only imagine how it would have been if I was in the \"non-suite\" room. The room and the entire hotel as I could judge is in dire need of major renovation or a good round with a bulldozer.

As a business traveler, I have a level of expectation of efficiency and amenities. On that, there was no coffee
machine in the room, no kettle, no coffee. I asked for a coffee brewer or similar, and I was informed that I
could have a water kettle, but there would be no coffee. The hotel provides a free breakfast buffet,
and that was apparently the extent of luxury the hotel was willing to splurge on the guests. As it
happened, I never received that water kettle either.

The breakfast buffet, was honestly one of the worst buffets I have had, although it was still the best part of the stay...

I asked for an iron and ironing board to get my shirt (dress shirt) ready for the day. This was to be placed in the room
while I was at breakfast, this did not arrive. When I asked again, I was brought a board and a steam iron, marked
\"Do not fill water\"..

As for access to news TV channels.. France24 and BBC are available, however the signal is so poor that the programs fall in and out constantly.

I will never stay at this property again, and discourage any business traveler, if you at all have a choice, to
avoid this property at all cost.

Hotel showing appliances that wasn't in the room,like microwave,iron even to I have to argue to get a water heater for my coffee ,I have been cheated for 2 nights cause earlier on the 7 after having a flight cancelled I called to speak with them about the delay while they said it was Ok afterwards I got charged for it and the 21th of today which I left the hotel at 1pm at the time their booking start at 3pm

I booked this place as it was a nice lower-mid range price that offered free airport transfer. I don't think the web site for the hotel is operational anymore as the contact email on the site was never replied to my request. However, I did get a lift back to the airport for free. The room, was a good size, but I was put next too / above a plant room, so it was very noisy, could of asked to have a room change, but was late getting in on the first night and got used to it after that. Reception were helpful and pleasant breakfast was good also and the hotel location isn't too bad in that part of town.

Great for city business

Yes, for a lot more you can stay in more luxury and have more amenities, however, if you are mostly out of the hotel on business and want a place that is quiet, well-situated, and comfortable for a 1/4 to 1/3 the going rate the Carlton delivers. Who knows what the future will bring but I got very good value for the money. By the way, I have had less impressive breakfast buffets at much pricier locales - not a bad deal.

Finding the hotel was slightly difficult as its placed within a sharp turning, off the main city road without any signs or indications. The Car Park was a narrow small turning without any shading, so be prepared to be sitting in a scorched up car if leaving it there, with the expectation of being blocked in. Check-in was smooth, the usual ID/Visa requests which did not take much time, and kindly was given an option of changing the type of bed which was kind of them. Room was small with old furniture and the view was spoiled with an old abandoned hotel, however the bathroom was of decent size and kept well clean.

Quality Budget Option

We were pleasantly surprised with the Carlton Tower Hotel. It's a rare budget-friendly option in Kuwait, and the room was nice. The breakfast was particularly lovely--on the top floor with a great view of the sea. Recommended.

Perfect for what I needed!

I stayed 7 nights during a business trip and was very happy with the room, and the staff's attention. They were prompt to respond when I reported my remote control not working. The hotel was at a perfect location (at least for me), with a wonderful Indian restaurant across the street, a great coffee shop around the corner, and within a reasonable walking distance from a very nice soukh (bazaar) and the beach.

The hotel is not brand new, but the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in my rate and it was delightful (I only wish they had brewed coffee; they only offer Nescafe, although I noticed the same in other places).

Upon arrival they provided transportation from the airport, but when departing, they charged me for a taxi, probably because I had to leave the hotel at 2:30 am.

I would definitely stay there again!

Ongoing renovation not a problem

I stayed at the Carlton for a week. The room was cozy but perfectly fine for one person. I mistakenly booked a smoking room through Hotels'com but the hotel readily made a switch to a non-smoking room. Staff was friendly and very accommodating in other ways as well. Central location is excellent. Easy access to main roads for getting to other parts of the city. Wifi worked as it is supposed to. An example of ongoing renovation, no towel bars in the bathroom yet, was easily worked around. The airport shuttle was free both ways, despite fact that my incoming flight was an hour late and my driver had to wait over an hour. All in all, a good stay.

A good budget option in Kuwait City

The hotel is a little more of an authentic experience than staying in a chain hotel. Obviously, with an independent / family owned operation you take a little more of a risk. I am glad to report that I didn't regret staying here, although things weren't perfect. I appreciated the transfer from the airport and the fact that the hotel's driver waited for me to get my visa on arrival. For a small charge I used the transfer service back to the airport. Annoyingly the hotel did not have a local map - leaving me a bit stranded. Staff were helpful and approachable. Breakfast was disappointing - the cornflakes I had enjoyed on my first morning vanished the next. I had to request a bowl from a manager and could have done without the hassle. Coffee was poor - just instant coffee. I did have ongoing issues with the wifi on floor3 where my room was. On two occasions the routers had to be restarted by maintenance. After the second time, I saw how they did it and ended up restarting them myself several times per day as I could not be bothered to go through the hassle of telephoning reception. Whilst this was annoying, I was able to get online and the speed was quite fast and this was the main thing. There is an issue with these routers, though, which needs addressing as I fear some guests will not be happy to keep going out into the corridor to restart two routers! The hotel is two mins walk from Al Muthana centre which has a great vegetarian restaurant called Ginger.

The hotel room was big and clean and comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of the main bus station and Souq. You can also walk along the Corniche from there. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is OK. If you are looking for a comfortable place to sleep the hotel is good value.

Very run down. All fittings badly worn. Refused first room on level 2 because it was a conversion from a utilities room. Room refrigerator was covered in dirty finger marks, no room safe (anywhere in the hotel according to the desk clerk). carpet dirty, only coat hangers were wire laundry ones. I was assured by the same desk clerk that this was a de luxe room.I was changed to a level 4 room, which was clean.

Immediately outside the hotel there were road works with heavy drilling until midnight.

Unfortunately there was an International Arab Conference, so no chance to change.

I would suggest Expedia takes this hotel off its listings.

You charged me for a de luxe accommodation and this was not in any way de luxe. Second class at best.

Close to the water

The room we stayed in had been recently renovated so it was very clean and had a small frig. The hotel itself is right near a mosque so you can hear the call to prayer clearly at around 5:00 am and then repeated again several more times. It made us feel like we were truly in Kuwait but it will definitely wake you up in the morning! There are some very small shops where you can get snacks just a few blocks away. The hotel includes breakfast which is a buffet with a variety of different ethnic foods as well as a omelets made to order by the sweetest chef who takes care of his customers well. He even came on his day off to cook us our last breakfast! The Kuwaiti owners of the hotel are extremely hospitable and the service was good. The hotel is old but is authentic looking and is in an authentic part of the city. We prefer that rather than staying in a large chain hotel that somewhat limits you from meeting real people. This hotel was full while we were there with people from many countries.

The quality and comfort of the rooms at the Carlton Tower were a pleasant surprise. It was almost completely renovated (new tub/shower, toilet, carpeting, bedding, etc.). An excellent room for the price!

Not airport shuttle, only airport pickup

The hotel location is quite good, being in Kuwait city and only about a half hour's walk to the Souqs, Grand Mosque, Sadu House and National Museum. There is a small supermarket around the corner as well as a couple of cafes and a few small restaurants. Smoking is prevalent in Kuwait, so although we requested and were given a non-smoking room, there was an ashtray in the room and the faint smell of stale cigarette smoke still lingered. Our room and bathroom were clean and there was plenty of hot water. There was a minibar but no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was a small buffet of about a dozen dishes. Although when booking, the information on Hotels.com stated free airport shuttle is provided, the hotel only provided a free airport pickup upon arrival. On our day of departure, we were informed that we had to pay for our transportation from the hotel to the airport.

空港送迎付きプランを予約していき、安心して利用できました。
近隣には大手チェーンホテルが複数あり、飲食店や銀行ATMもありますが、ムバラキヤスークなどの観光スポットからはそこそこ離れています。
部屋や設備は新しくはないですが清潔で快適でした。
