After a week travelling through Northland, we found that David and Olive Motel was the best of all. Having the owner on site is a big plus too. David gave us the best advice re dinner and breakfast dining options. The motel was extremely clean, modern,conveniently situated, plus, and this is a big one, the shower did not leak water on the floor!! Very impressed - and made Coromandel a delight to stay at. Thank you.

The owner assigned our unit parking spot to another guest when we were out of motel. When we inquired about it, he responded angrily, telling me to find another place to park. I decided to leave the motel as I felt uneasy. I checked out of the motel a day early, even though I had paid for an extra night. I did not request a refund. Additionally, there was no soap or shampoo in the motel. It is highly overrated and overpriced. I will not return there.

The noise on the main road was a bit loud and there is no privacy whatsoever since most all the rooms face the parking lot and the one window faces all the parked cars and people. We had room #9 called Avocado which is newly open in last week. Gorgeous room with all modern touches, comfy queen sized bed and small sofa. Fridge and Sky TV and kitchenette area.
