Very disappointed with the view from the apartment. We looked onto an unfinished wall with a row of apartments looking straight into ours. Not as we expected from the marketing pictures. So, we’re to keep the blinds down for any privacy. I had envisaged relaxing with a nice view.
Also very noisy with people moving around in other apartments.

This was an extremely spacious and comfortable apartment. Tastefully decorated with plenty of storage space. Receptionist kindly changed our booking to another apartment with not so many stairs and a lake view. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and good-sized bathroom. Restaurants in walking distance and right near the lake.

Great location and apartment size. Stayed in a 2 bedroom Unit with everything you would need. However, plumbing issues in one bathroom was a pain with toilet not flushing properly and backfill happening regularly! Previous tenants remains still in the toilet so did raise a concern regarding cleaning! Sink also drained very slowly so was always a mess.

Nice size apartment plenty of room. The down falls were the blinds, unsafe coffee table and parking. We stayed in apartment 3 and had Venetian blinds in the bedroom that didn’t blockout the street light and sun first thing in the morning. The roller blinds in the living area were day/privacy blinds again of a night the street lights and sunlight first thing in the morning weren’t blocked out. The coffee table was glass and had no stoppers so the glass could just slide straight off making it unsafe. Parking was difficult as it was quiet tight being next to a pillar and then on the other side was a board making it difficult to get out of the car and and extra hazard when parking the car. So we parked the car on the road. I would stay at this property again and the pros out weighted the negatives. The property was close to the beach, wharf and restaurants. Overall great location.

Location of the apartments was fantastic - a five minute walk to everything. However our biggest disappointment was the view or lack of it - it certainly didnt match the photo - if fact we overlooked a renovation site and a rather noise backpacker facility. The living area of the apartment was spacious but there was NO room in the bedroom for suitcases so we had to use the living area. Most of the cupboard space was locked - so no hanging space either! Too many stairs up to the lift and again down to the apartment - not ideal for us in our late 60's to be lifting heavy suitcases. Overall - disappointing - wont be recommending it.

Big Spacious Apartments Close To Everything

After driving from the Auckland CBD to Whitianga via the Coromandel a nice stretch out resting place was needed.
The Crow's Nest Apartments are spacious self contained units, adjacent to the bay area. A short wee walk around the corner is the Irish Pub Grace O'Malley's. So that was all that was needed by us to be \"Set like Jellies\", a nice spacious unit not far from an Irish Pub.

Our apartment was very large/spacious and extremely well decorated/furnished and spotlessly clean. It was more like a new-build 'show apartment' than a rental. The view was not great from our balcony, but you could just about see the sea between the buildings in front - however this did not detract from our stay.

A perfect escape

These apartments are located ideally just across from the beach and excellent walkways as well as being in easy reach of numerous good restaurants and shops. They have a good level of sound insulation and a good underground garage to keep your car cool. The owners couldn’t be more helpful and friendly and will make your stay very easy. Whitianga is a great place and we were sorry to have to leave - next time we will miss out other places to create more time here.

Great room. Spacious, clean and tidy with a nice modern feel. Owners were lovely and stayed open late for us as we were arriving late. Great to know were supporting a young family and their business. Overall a great stay and would recommend to everyone and will stay here again next time we are down.

Good time in Whitianga

The location is excellent with off street undercover parking in close proximity to the centre of town. The apartments are well appointed, clean and comfortable. The only downside was there is no air conditioning and to get good air flow you need to leave doors open. We enjoyed our stay and the area is magnificent.

Highly recommended! Everything was clean, the apartment provided most essential things needed as travelling as a family. I am very grateful that it was particularly clean, there was a dishwasher and good check-in process. I enjoyed the stay of one night here.

The only thing I recommend is to provide a fan or air-conditioning. When in February, and it got quite humid and stuffy.

Arrived late and street was quite dark. Owners directed us to apartments. They were spacious immaculate and all fittings very high specified, Less than 3 minute walk from bay and views from roof balcony in the morning was stunning. Owner helped us as to what to see and do in area and recommended some great attractions we may otherwise have missed out on. Great place to base yourself from to see area. Would definitely stay here again.

This self catering apartment was very well equipped and furnished. The location was ideal for local shops and restaurants. Although there was a large modern free standing fan in the apartment, one small observation is that it could have benefited from air conditioning. This was not a serious issue and did not spoil our stay.

Beach and bay holiday

Very nice spacious, comfortable holiday accommodation in this lovely area. Great to slide open the glass doors to the generous balcony (with table and 4 chairs) and let in the soft sea breeze (in summer). Only one negative: strong odour of cigarette smoke right through the unit from a late night heavy smoker on a balcony below. Unpleasant. Hard to see what could be done about this, as apartments are individually owned. Next time I would ask for an apartment well separated from known smokers.
