The 2 bedroom was charming and rustic. It was a very convenient location. You can get to cathedral cove and beaches on foot which made it a pleasure. The local shopping center and restaurants were within minutes also on foot. The area shuts down by 8pm. Make your dining arrangements at Church Bistro ahead of time as they get booked quickly but worth it.

Perfect room. Pleasant gentleman who checked us in. Short 5 min walk to great beach (early morning we were on the beach alone). Amenities include microwave, mini frig, toaster. Cute town. Hahei Explorer boat ride is informative and about an hour. Cathedral Cove walk is quite nice, but be prepared for some steepness (about 2 miles one way).

Very pleasant stay. Beds in particular deserve a mention- very comfortable. Showers are fairly basic, but water is hot and plentiful. Good value for money. However, it's definitely not an 11 minute walk from Cathedral Cove! It’s more like 45 minutes, and expect lots of walking up and down hills. That said, there's nowhere closer to CC to stay, and parking at the Cove itself is prohibited.

This was a lovely unit with a great back garden where we could eat our take away dinner outside. The facility provided beach towels, a shovel (for Hot Water Beach), is convenient to the beach, and the bed and cushioned window seat were great. The chief complaint was there is no sink, other than the bathroom sink, in which to do dishes. A bathroom sink is not really a sanitary solution for dishes. We hope that the resort owners take the dishes used in any unit and run them through a dishwasher before the next guest arrives. Other than that, it was great.

Great location in Hahei - right amongst everything and an easy walk to the beach. Lovely gardens attracting plenty of bird life. Pleasant unit with a large comfortable bed. There was a small outdoor area with a table and sun lounger to enjoy the sunshine. We didn’t book the self contained option - it had a fridge and microwave but using the unit’s cups or plates was awkward to wash as the only option was the bathroom sink.

Small but clean room. Walkable to the beach. The things we did not like mainly was the shower. The shower area was only surrounded by a curtain with nothing to contain the shower water on the floor, which made the whole bathroom floor heavily flooded with large amount of water flown to toilet and sink area once you took the shower. We had to use three bath towers to soak and clean the water on the floor before we can step into the bathroom after a shower. It was very annoying and frustrating. The hotel is located in a small town with only one restaurant that closes at 8pm.

We only had time to stay one night at the Tatahi Lodge Beach Resort, but we wish it was more! Our room was spacious, charmingly furnished, and lovingly decked out to feel intimate and personal. The restroom was cozy but not too tight. There was a good amount of space for storage and spreading out.
The manager, Young, was indispensible in giving us the lay of the land and setting expectations when we arrived. Not only did he let us know all the food and market places nearby and their hours (the neighboring Pour House is excellent, btw), he provided valuable information about the walk to Cathedral Cove and Hahei Beach, current local restrictions, and different transportation options. He was also super nice and friendly.

Enjoyed our stay at Tatahi Lodge. Hahei is a small town, and the lodge is convenient to the Cafes, the General Store and just a few minutes walk from the beach. Very quiet area. Room was clean and comfortable and felt good. Door and windows out to lovely garden area. Would definitely stay again!

Tatahi Lodge Beach Resort made us feel all the comforts of home well equipped with everything we needed including a nice outdoor patio, free parking, free WiFi, private bathroom and next to restaurants and supermarkets. The location was near Cathedral Cove Walkway, Hahei Beach and less than 10 minutes drive to Hot Water Beach. The front desk staff are friendly, helpful and amazing. Overall, we were very pleased and I would recommend this hotel to others that makes it out to the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand.

We found the host to be excellent. She was very friendly and helpful. We found the space to be a bit dysfunctional for our purposes. We have two young children and it was difficult having the girls sleep downstairs with the bathroom upstairs. Also there was no plug-in in the bathroom and the mirror for the bathroom was 4 feet off the floor. The space was however clean and we had a bit of a view of the water.

It's located a few blocks from the beach, and along the trail to Cathedral Cove. It's also right next to a convenience store and restaurant. The room was clean and bright. I would definitely stay there again.

The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The room itself was clean and mostly in good condition. We appreciated having the space for my husband to conduct business calls in the living room while I was still asleep in the bedroom. The bad thing about the accommodations is that there is no soundproofing between units. There was a baby in the unit next to ours, and we heard all the crying and screaming and chasing him around. If you’re at all noise sensitive, try someplace else.

1)we are travelling with an infant hence everything can’t be planned to the T,we asked if there was a late check out even with payment available??
The answer was no even in off season as now.
2)Toilet bowl wasn’t cleaned when we entered the property.
3)no assigned car park any one can park anywhere and you should need to be careful about the other cars if you are renting
4)most frustrating aspect
